Forewarning in that this is rated M for a reason. Nothing too explicit, but yes, this does contain sexual references.
Within the Light
On Tarn-Vedra, we have a garden.
Dylan jokes that it was inevitable. He's a heavy-worlder, bound to the earth on which he treads. His father worked in the gardens of the Imperial Palace. After 307 years, he is finally home. And so am I.
I have never really called a planet home before. I have given the Andromeda such a title, and before that, the Maru. Home was whatever I made it, as I looked for a way to stop the Abyss. But no world has ever been my home. Worlds, for all their beauty, are so small, and space…space is big. A vastness over which both light and dark hold sway, that defies even the scope of even my own mind. But now…now I have a home. Here, on the soil of the vedran homeworld, home, is a concept that I understand better. Beneath the glow of my own sun. Beneath the patterns the clouds make in the heavens above. How the energy of the sun drives the wind that drives them. That caresses me, as a mother might do for her child.
All life comes from light. It is the light of the universe that bore me. It is the light of the sun that nourishes the garden in which I dwell. It is what grows here that nourishes the lives of those who live on this world. Light leads to life. Finally, the Light has defeated the Dark. And free from its touch, life can bloom, as surely as these flowers which I carry.
The sun is setting as I return to my home. Our home. That which we can both call our own, freed from our burdens, for as long as our days last. And they shall be many. Here, he is waiting for me. Another garden, yet part of the greater whole. A reflection of ourselves.
We smile, as the breeze speaks for us. Petals dance in the wind, their motions long perfected. Ours are not as intricate. But it matters not. We have an eternity to learn. An eternity to grow.
The flowers dance around us as we embrace. As we escape from the coming dark and into our own light. The dance increases tempo, and shifts key. Still major, but something else from before. Something different. Something more.
Light is within us. Light surrounds us as we burn. Fire spreads within me, fiercer and brighter than a thousand suns, enough to shine until the end of all things. Enough to eradicate any darkness that comes our way. We are here, and dance in our binary light. But once again the key changes. The music reaches crescendo. And I gasp, and sing, as my own flower opens.
Life comes from light. It is the natural order of the universe. But the roles are reversed, as life enters me, searching for the fruit of my loins. I do not know what there is to find – the intricacies of this form are still a mystery to me. But it matters not. All that matters is the music, as my words become ecstasy's chorus. Love, my melody. And as I let my garden grow.
The music stops and the dance ends. Our fires die, as our bodies seek to cool, yet remaining joined. All that is left is our light. Forever safe from the dark.
I am his, and he is mine.
I am Trance Gemini.
And I am home.
