Month 4 Symptoms: hunger grows, fluttering

Natsu and Lucy were sitting at the guild's bar together in their usual seats. Mirajane set down two more bowls of ramen in front of them. She then leaned on the counter and smiled at them. "Wow Lucy, I've never seen you keep up with Natsu's appetite!"

Lucy started devouring the delicious meal. Cana was next to them, exclaiming, "Seriously, that's your fourth bowl! That's crazy!"

Natsu took his chopsticks and reached over into her bowl to take the fried pork. Lucy's chopsticks stopped his. She glared at him. "What do you think you're doing?"

"Awe come on Luce. You know I love fried things.."

"Yes. And so does your child. So back off." She growled, protecting her bowl with her arms.

He pouted, but let her be. Pregnant Lucy was scarier than regular Lucy.

...

Lucy hummed happily and danced a little in her seat as she munched on her bacon-covered, cheesy waffle fries.

Levy chuckled across from her, eating her own sandwich. "Goodness, Lu-chan. You're going to eat that whole appetizer platter by yourself at this rate."

"That's the plan!" Lucy smiled widely, dipping another french fry in ranch sauce.

"Well you are eating for two so it's to be expected." Levy shrugged, not really judging Lucy for chowing down literally all the time.

Lucy sighed, reaching for her water. "Sometimes I feel like I'm eating a little too much to be normal. Like I'm eating for three!"

They both froze. Lucy looked at Levy with wide, panicked eyes. "Oh my god, you don't think there's two in there do you?"

Levy wiped her hands off. "I mean it's not impossible. It's still early, the doctors could easily mistake two for one..."

"Oh my god I can't have two at the same time!" Lucy whined. "Two mini Natsus. I'm never going to sleep again."

The blue haired mage giggled. "Don't exaggerate Lu-chan. You'll be fine! Twins wouldn't be so bad. As long as they take after you.."

Lucy groaned. "Let's hope."

"We will find out soon enough!" Levy cheered, trying to keep her best friend optimistic.

The celestial mage smiled. "Yes, I suppose we will."

...

"Natsu! Natsu come quick!"

There was a loud stumbling noise, paired with cursing before Natsu barreled through the doorway, his fists on fire. "What?! Where, who?!"

She chuckled. "No you dumbo. Nothing's wrong. It's just the baby."

He paced over, "The baby?! What happened?!"

Lucy laughed, holding her palms up. "No, no everything is fine, babe! Seriously!"

He waited.

"The baby is like fluttering or something. It feels like butterflies."

He stared in wonder. "Butterflies?"

She hummed, "Mmhmm. Come here and feel it."

Natsu walked over, sitting down on the couch beside her. He rested his hands on her slightly protruding stomach and waited. He could just barely feel what she was talking about, like tiny drums on his hand. "Wow," he breathed. "That's amazing. That's our baby."

Lucy nodded, smiling happily as she covered his hands with hers. She leaned their foreheads together as they both just sat and felt their baby move around for the first time.
