Summary: Storytime in the Uzumaki household.

"...And that's the story of how your father and I fell in love."

Hinata smiled warmly at her children, little Bolt and Hima, who were sitting on her knees. Snow was falling outside, and it could be seen piling up through the window. A redfaced and huffing Naruto was shoveling the sidewalk in a coat, mittens, scarf, and cap knitted by his wife.

"Really, mommy?" said Himawari, looking up at her mother with complete credulity, her eyes wide with wonder, and her cheeks rosy pink. She clasped her hands, eyes twinkling. "For real? On the moon?!"

Hinata smiled and tickled her daughter's sides.

"For real," she said.

Himawari squealed and fell backwards onto the sofa, giggling uncontrollably.

"And you kissed?" she said.

Hinata nodded. "Oh, we did indeed," she said demurely.

"Eww," Boruto said, making a face. His voice nearly came out as a whine. "I don't wanna hear about that! Gross!"

"Oh, but I'm sure you'll find a girl you want to kiss someday, Bolt," Hinata told her son with a mother's knowing smile. "Just as I'm sure Hima will find a boy she wants to kiss."

"Never!" Bolt declared, gesturing adamantly. The effect, given his young age, soft features, and diminutive stature, was more adorable than anything. "No way will I EVER wanna kiss some smelly girl! Yuck!"

Hinata giggled. "So you say now."

"Hey, mommy?" Himawari interjected. "Did Auntie Hanabi ever get married? Why didn't that Toneri guy marry her?"

"She was too young at the time," Hinata said with a chortle, waving a hand as if to dismiss the question. "And to hear your grandfather talk, one would think she's still too young."

Himawari giggled along with her mom, although she didn't quite get the joke.

Bolt made a face and crossed his arms over his chest.

"I'm hungry," he whined.

"Yeah, me too!" Himawari said, joining her brother.

"Wait until your father's come in," Hinata said. "Then we'll eat."

The two kids pouted.

"Tell us another story while we wait?" said Bolt.

"Yeah! Please, mommy?"

"Okay," Hinata said. She smiled and reached for a storybook on the coffee table. "One more. Then, if dad still hasn't come in, maybe you can have some crackers."

Bolt and Himawari beamed.

A/N: Sooo, today's the official release date of Boruto the Movie in Japan. It is also the day that I watched The Last all the way through for the first time. Between reading spoilers for the former and various other fan-fluff, as well as finally finding and watching a relatively decent quality, Japanese-audio sub of the latter, I find myself in the serious mood for Sunshine Family Fluff.

The part where that reprise of the OG Naruto theme started playing at the end of Naruto and Toneri's fight made me grin like crazy, and even if it was a little cheesy at parts I still loved it.

Hence this pointlessly silly and adorable oneshot.
