Gustav's POV

I somehow had the best nights sleep of my life and the worst nights sleep of my life in two nights. I went from sleeping on the floor of a hut bound to a tipped over stool to sleeping entangled in a gorgeous young woman's limbs.

I think both of us had awoken long ago but neither of us wanted to unlock ourselves from our embrace. So we were both content to lay there, both of us pretending to be asleep.

However, as soon as there was a knock at the door she flung my arm off her and jolted upright.

"Cami? Are you in here?" I heard Cami's mother say from the other side of the door.

"Um Ya-Yes ... I'm here. DON'T COME IN!" Cami franticly blurted out. However, it was too late. The Cheifess had entered the room and saw a very nervous boy in bed with a very bashful looking girl.

"Oh ... I see." Cami's mother commented flatly.

Cami sighed and buried her face in her hands.

"I'm so proud of you!" Cami's mother excitedly exclaimed.

"Mom ... can you just ..." Cami curtly said while gesturing towards the door.

"Alright. Your busy. We'll talk later." Cami's mother jested as she exited. Cami picked something up and through it at the door, making a loud thud, as it closed.

"Well I did not expect that reaction." I said semi-stunned.

"No!" Cami exclaimed, placing two fingers over my mouth. "I do not have the patients to deal with you right now. Just ... be quiet." I obeyed her for roughly twenty seconds while she continually sighed and looked stressed.

"If you think about it..." I started, pausing briefly when Cami shot me a glare "She would have found out in three months anyways."

Cami rolled her eyes and quickly got out of bed and started getting dressed. She gestured for me to do the same. I obliged and when we were both completely dressed Cami approached me with handcuffs in her hands.

"Really?" I breathed looking at her in the eye.

"Do you want everyone to think that your trying to escape? Because they will try to stop you with their spears." Cami said flatly. I turned around and let her bind my hands behind my back. I thought she would be warmer to me after we spent last night together but she seemed more rigid than ever before. I felt something ... more when I was with her, but given the stiffness of her body language, I wondered if she felt anything good towards me now.

She opened the door and we walked out into the day.

We walked out of town, away from the rest of the village and back towards the plateau where I was captured. However, instead of ascending up the plateau we walked to the base of the waterfall pouring off of it. The pools at the bottom were shrouded by more than just the mists of the waterfall but also steam rising from the pool. It was a hot spring and from the looks of it the villagers had carved some stone seats into the the edges of the pool.

"So ... is this your way of telling me I stink?" I playfully asked, hoping to lighten the mood between us.

"Well I wasn't going to say it out loud, but, yeah. You smell like five different women took turns having their way with you." Cami stated, still with a hint of hostility in her voice.

"Well that's odd. By my count I spent time with 4 women and one goddess last night." I stated in a playful tone, again. To my delight her stern face broke into a smile for a moment. I turned and let her unfasten my binds. "So she doesn't like being called a 'princess' but does like being call a 'goddess' ". The second I was unbound she pushed me into the hot spring, fully clothed.

When I surfaced I heard Cami state "She also doesn't like being talked to like she isn't here.". She started stripping off her clothes to get in with me. I started doing the same but my wet clothing stuck to my body. I was struggling to get my shirt over my head when I heard the splash of Cami diving into the pool. Damn, I wanted to see that. I struggled for a little while longer before Cami swam up to me an pulled my shirt off my head.

"Thanks" I stated.

"Don't bother, I like you better like this." Cami stated, gesturing to my nudeness. Cami Swam over to one of the carved seats and gestured me to follow her.

"Sooo ... just to clarify ... you enjoyed last night? Right?" I asked, sitting down next to her.

Cami game me a look and asked "Do you really need me to tell you? You couldn't divine that on your own?".

"Well ... yeah ... last night I was pretty certain but this morning ..." I said, trailing of as I didn't want to go into specifics.

"Oh ... well ... the reason my mother ... reacted like that ... it's because when ... if I have a daughter I will become the next cheifess ... and that's kinda ..." Cami stated trailing off to avoid going into specifics as I did.

"Oh ... I ... I'm sorry if I um ... made it ... made you choose too ... um" I stammered out before Cami cut me off.

"Made me? Gustav I had I knife to your throat. I was in control." Cami stated, her pride bruised from my apology.

"Well yeah but it would be a stark decision. There is a big difference between 'Cut my throat' or 'Let me kiss you' " I defended.

"I had thousands of different options I didn't need to choose that one." Cami aggressively stated.

"I'm just saying, I'm sorry that there wasn't a middle option for you to ..." I continued before Cami cut me off.

"There was. It was called 'Knee you in the groin'. Are you saying I should choose that next time?" Cami threatened.

"Well I ... wait ... so you do want there to be a next time?" I asked. There was a long pause before Cami answered.

"Uhhhhh ... Maybe. It's a coin flip now but if we continue ..." Cami said cryptically.

"I am pretty certain it's a better chance than just a coin flip" I stated, referring to the chance of her being pregnant.

"Right ... you don't know." Cami said cryptically.

"Please tell me you don't do anything bad with babies" I stated inching away from her on the seat. Apparently I wasn't far away enough as she elbowed me in the ribs hard.

"First you assume we're cannibals now immediately think we kill babies? What is wrong with your brain?" Cami angrily scolded.

"A lot" I wheezed out, agreeing with her hoping to avoid another blow. Instead Cami just put her head in her hands and muttered "Your unbelievable" under her breath.

"So are you going to be quiet while I explain?" Cami questioned while I vigorously nodded, still nursing her blow to my ribs. "Long before I was born my tribe originally came from another island. It was filled with rich fertile soil and we had abundant livestock. However, if you have something good others will want to take it from you. They were kicked off the fertile island by a rival tribe. Over time they built up their strength and took the island back. This repeated again and again and again until they lost so many people they decided to leave of good, to find an island no one would find them ever again. Here. They got used to living in a bog and they lived in peace for a while. However, the men in our tribe started to get sick. They didn't figure out what was causing it until long after they all died."

"Those mushrooms over there" Cami pointed to some innocuous looking mushrooms in the trees. "Their spores are poisonous to anything that's male: livestock, people, even dragons."

"What?!" I exclaimed, immediately covering my mouth.

"Relax!" Cami exclaimed "It'll take two years before you've inhaled enough spores to kill you. But, yeah, don't intentionally go sniffing mushrooms.".

"So that's what you meant by coin flip?" I asked, and Cami nodded.

"I've breathed these spores all my life. If the baby is destined to become a male the pregnancy won't take. If it is destined to become female it will be immune from the spores." Cami explained.

"Why hasn't your tribe moved?" I asked.

"Why would we? If women want to try to find another home we don't stop them but ... this is home for us. It's not perfect but our tribe learned long ago that perfect islands are island you have to fight for. How many times have you had to fight for your island?" Cami asked.

"Okay you have a point" I admitted, remembering all the times Berk was invaded, burned, or raided in my life. There was a pause of silence between us before I questioned her "So I take it you plan on me leaving the island before the spores kill me?".

"Well your dragon flew off and has likely made it to your island by now so it depends on how badly your tribe wants to get you back." Cami said.

"Riiight" I said, staring off into the distance.

"They will want you back right?" Cami asked, a worried look on her face.

"Yeah I'm sure they'll come. Eventually." I said, thinking for the first time of how I might explain what happened to me here. I also wonder if Cami would come with me. Of course she won't. She is the Princess here why would she leave? Could she even leave?

"Cami ... once I'm back with my tribe and safe ... from the ... the mushroom spores of incredibly slow death ... would you ... want me to come back?" I blurted out.

"Um ..." Cami stammered, now staring off into the distance. She didn't get the chance to answer as the sound of voices on the trail we walked down became audible. Soon a parade of girls walked into view, all with their eyes hungrily fixed on me.

AN: Yes I know it's been forever. No I don't promise to finish the story. I Just randomly had the urge to right another chapter.
