Author's Note: I honestly never thought I was going to write an "Arrow" fan-fic. And then I saw the Season 4 pilot, and this story sort of just- happened.

Oliver had been back for two days when he finally cornered Thea and asked her a very, very difficult question.

"Who taught you archery?"

"Malcolm." Thea stated "Why?"

"Because the last five times you shot someone, it was either at point-blank range, or you missed. Both mean that you didn't actually harm your target."

"I do not miss!"

"Do too!"

"Not either!"

"You do so!"

In short order, a battered Styrofoam target was dragged out, and they both pulled their bows.

There was then a round about who went first.

Diggle flipped a coin.

Oliver won.

Drawing his compound, he aimed instinctively and let lose. The first arrow was a tiny fraction of an inch above the center of the target.

He drew and fired twice more.

The second one impacted just below the first, close enough that a tiny piece of plastic fluttered down as that arrow knocked one of the fletchings off the one above it.

The third did something that Oliver didn't see that often- namely, the point impacted precisely on the nock of the first arrow, and it just piled right through the first and into the target.

"Showoff!"

"Robin of Loxley, a knight bold and good-" Felicity sing- songed.

"I regret ever introducing you to The Adventures of Robin Hood." Oliver said, then turning to Thea, stated, "Your turn."

Thea stepped up, drew an arrow, and released in one smooth motion, the same way Oliver had done.

The difference, however, is that when Oliver did that, his right had always came back to the same point, so that his thumb was at the corner of his mouth.

Thea brought it back to a point two inches above her right shoulder and at least an inch out, but since her hand on the string never touched her body, the end result was that she didn't notice that her arrow was angled roughly five degrees downward, and ten to the left.

The target was in no danger.

Felicity's half-finished orange soda, however, never moved again- well, at least until Oliver got after it with a paper towel.

Author's Note: The one thing that stuck out to me about the season four premiere was that THEA CAN'T SHOOT A BOW TO SAVE HER LIFE!

In direct contrast to Oliver, who does his archery pretty well (the script writers have him firing inside the archer's paradox far too often, but that's the writer's fault), Thea's first shot in season 4 had her pulling the bow back- to what looked like an ARBITRARY POINT IN SPACE, and as a result, her arrows seemed to vary in the position they were pulled back to by almost two inches. Needless to say, she wouldn't be able to hit the broad side of a barn – FROM THE INSIDE!

My other complaint is that anyone can tell, far too obviously from the way that the limbs flex, that the actress is actually using a twenty-five-pound bow (a direct hit, with a broad-head, at best effective distance, is considered dangerous but non-lethal with that amount of bow behind it). But that's beside the point. SOMEONE, PLEASE TEACH HER HOW TO SHOOT A BOW! PLEASE!
