She looks at them just the moment Lily walks away. She sees how Enzo stays glued to his place, his jaw clenching and his hands turning into fists. And it's something other than anger. It's hurt.

She can't tell how does it really feel, since she never loved someone who didn't fall for her in return. But she knows it hurts, and the fact that it is Enzo makes it worse. Because he seems like that type of guy who have many walls, who will never let you in unless you earn it.

She is not sure if she wants him to let her in.

They know each other for what? Three seconds? They've never actually had a proper conversation unless it was because someone needed something from the other. She knows that she doesn't know him. And he sure as hell doesn't know her either.

Yet she finds herself walking to him. And she groans in anger because this is not what she's here for. She's here in a mission; to help the Salvatores get their revenge- and her own, then go home.

And yes, it is depressing that she can't go to a party just for fun. But that's not the time to think about changing her life.

She is not sure whether he notices her or not, since his eyes stay on the same spot.

"No one ever told you that ditching your date is rude?" She folds her arms against her chest and titles her head.

"What are you doing here?" He says after rolling his eyes without looking at her.

"What would I do instead of being here?" She shrugs. "And didn't you say I was your date? I'm getting real confused here." She narrows her eyes while titling her head even more to make him look at her. "What? Is my part done? What was my part actually?"

"You know? I'd really appreciate it if you drop it right now." His voice is serious and maybe cracking and is he on the verge of crying?

She shifts uncomfortably in her place and drops her hands, clearing her throat she looks away. She tries to think of something to say but she fails.

"Whatever you're gonna say you can save it. I know that she's not worth it and I know you think I'm crazy for feeling anything for her and I know I deserve better." He lists them in one breath before looking at her. "Here, anything else?"

If she didn't know that Lily just smashed his heart and broke it into pieces then walked on it she would leave him right there and walk away. Well, she would give him a lecture in how to talk to people then walk away but anyway.

For a moment, she just stares, says nothing and just stares. Asking him if he's done. And he rolls his eyes in what she assumes to be embarrassment.

"Well, I was gonna say that it's gonna take a while, but eventually you'll get over her." She raises her eyebrows. "For me, Lily is a monster. But I know that for you she's something different, maybe in your mind… you think that she is the only person who saw you. And maybe… with time, you'll realize that it's not enough, maybe you'll realize that you don't need her." She shrugs.

"Or maybe you'll spend the rest of your life pinning over her, I won't be surprised; it seems that you guys have a thing for pinning over… things."

He opens his mouth but nothing comes out.

"Anyway, I'll go dance, I think it's safe to say I'm not your date." She smirks before turning around and walking away.

He watches as she grabs a drink from a table and jumps the two stairs before disappearing from view. And he suddenly wants to get over it, he suddenly wants to be free.

Because maybe he deserves better.
