This isn't really about any ship, I just thought it was funny.

"Do you like hot girls more or beautiful girls more?"

This innocent question- no one could even remember who asked it- had sparked a debate.

"Cute girls." Gajeel nodded solemnly.

"Team cute girls!" Natsu fist-bumped him.

"Hot girls." Laxus didn't bat an eyelash.

"Beautiful girls." Gray didn't look up from his sketching.

"Are we all just describing our crushes right now?" Jellal pointed out, but they ignored him.

"How about pretty girls?" Cobra interjected. "You know, that halfway point between cute and beautiful?"

"You don't interrupt the cute-beautiful-hot triangle, Cobra" Scorpio looked insulted. "You pick one."

"Cute girls." Loke nodded.

"We have Gajeel, Natsu, and Loke on cute girls, Laxus on hot girls, and Gray and I on beautiful girls." Sting announced, tallying it on paper.

"Hot girls!" Bacchus drawled.

"Beautiful girls." Jellal admitted.

"Oh come on, Erza is a hot girl!" Laxus snickered, and Jellal glared at him.

"No one said anything about Erza."

"You weren't talking about Erza?" Laxus feigned shock.

"Wait, yes I was-"

"We're not classifying girls!" Gray protested. "This has nothing to do with the girls."

"Lucy is beautiful," Natsu tapped the paper. "Put her on there."

"Is she beautiful or cute?" Gray asked.

"Both!"

"You can't do both, hothead-"

"Aquarius is the cutest." Scorpio beamed.

"Okay idiots!" Gajeel growled. "Why are we doing this?"

"To see if the boys of our social circle have a definite type?" Loke smiled, the picture of innocence.

"It's data." Sting agreed. "Okay, who stole the paper?"

"Let's stick to preferences. Not girls." Gray waved the paper. "Everyone pick one corner of the triangle. I'm adding beautiful for mine."

"Cute," from Gajeel.

"Cute," from Cobra.

"Hot," from Bacchus.

"Hot," from Laxus.

"Beautiful," from Jellal.

"Cute!" from Natsu.

"Beautiful," from Sting.

"Cute," from Scorpio.

"Cute," from Loke.

"Men!" from Ichiya.

A moment of silence. The boys stared at Ichiya, Hibiki, Ren, Eve, who were posing at the window.

"What the fu-"

"When did you get here?!"

"Boys from the other class should stop peeping on our list!"

"We simply wanted to add our opinion!" Hibiki flashed his signature beam. "We three like beautiful girls, because all girls are beautiful!"

"Get the fuck out!"

"Skewed data!"

"What is going on here?!" This time the new voice came from Erza, Cana and Mirajane behind her, peering in through the other window. "We can hear you from down the hall!"

"Sorry, president" Natsu and Gray said in unison, more on reflex than anything.

"They're making a list about girls!" Ichiya tattled immediately. "They are not true MEEEEN!"

"A list about what?" Cana laughed. "Are we girls getting scored?"

"No!" Jellal attempted to defend them. "We were seeing out of all of us, which type is most popular between cute girls, hot girls, and beautiful girls."

"Are you really saying calling a girl cute is the same level of complement as a beautiful girl?" Mirajane looked intrigued.

"Cute girls, are the ones you want to take care of," Loke began passionately. "They are softer and sweet. Beautiful girls, are mature but more reserved and capable. And hot girls, are also mature but in a sensual and fun way rather than a responsible way!"

"You guys are all dumb." Cana was laughing hysterically. "We should see what is the consensus between girls!"

"What would be the three points for girls?" Erza hummed. "I think hot and handsome blend too much."

"We can do hot, cute, and beautiful too" Mirajane suggested. "Beautiful boys being the more delicate, thinner, often asshole type, and cute being the playful cuddly type."

"What if they're all hot assholes?" Cana's laughter hadn't ceased.

"We can add a fourth category: trash" Erza said dryly. "The type no one wants but everyone gets."

"That's not fair!" Natsu protested vehemently.

"So? What was your consensus?" Mirajane asked.

"Uh, cute girls seem to be the most popular."

The three looked at each other. They scanned their faces, their clothes, their auras. Then they looked at the boys again.

"Ah, I guess I'm the most popular!" Mirajane sparkled.

"You're a demon." Erza snipped. "No way you count as a cute girl."

"What was the least popular?" Cana asked.

"Uh, hot girls."

The three looked at each other again.

"So," Mirajane said sweetly. Too sweetly. "Who preferred what type?"

There was a moment of silence.

"You know what? I don't remember."

"Types? That conversation is so old."

"We've moved on now."

"Preferences change, you know."

"Isn't the weather today great, guys?"

"Wow, would you look at the time, I think we need to get to P.E. now-"

The girls watched the boys make a mad dash for class, the list mysteriously disappearing in the process.

Cana narrowed her eyes at their retreating backs. "Wusses."

I'm tired y'all.

This is based off a conversation my friend and I had. I mostly debated what Jellal would consider Erza.
