Oh hey, look an update that didn't take a year. Why is this update so quick? In my Philosophy class all that's graded is papers we do that involve online sources, and attendance. (The paper I just did I got an A on and it was all bullshit lmao.) I don't even pay attention, I spent that time writing out this chapter lol.

A slight thing before we get into the chapter, this is my own version of what happened in Return of the Joker, so it's not exactly what's canon. (Reasoning: when the chapter was written, I didn't see the movie in quite some time so I improvised and did my own thing.)

Disclaimer- I don't own anything related to DC Media, if I did I would probably not be a college student. This is also my first time writing Joker and Harley, so no promises on getting their characters right.

Tim's POV (5 Years Ago)

"Wakey, wakey little bird," I heard a familiar voice say.

My eyes instantly shot open and I was faced towards the Joker. I tried to move my arms but they were strapped down. It felt like I was laying on a conveyor belt. I then tried moving my legs, but they were also strapped down. I looked around and saw a medical table with a cloth on it.

"You're finally awake Little Jay Jay," A female voice squealed.

I recognized that voice as the wonderful Harley Quinn. She skipped into the room and put her arm around Joker.

"Isn't it wonderful that our little boy is awake Mister J?" she asked.

"I am not your little boy," I sneered.

"Not yet replacement number 2," Joker said with a wicked smile, "Dear old Batsy should learn not to leave his Robins lying around. Guess I'll have to once again teach dear old Bruce a lesson or two."

I widened my eyes. Joker knew who we were under the masks? What else did he know?

"Don't look so shocked bird brain," Harley said before laughing, "kinda hard to keep a secret identity when you're birdnapped."

I tried to look down to see if I was still in my uniform, and I was. I could tell that my mask was still on because I could feel the spirit gum still attached to my face.

"Harley," Joker said turning to Harley and patting her on the head, "would you get the camera over here? Bats needs a front row seat of how Jay Jay comes about."

Harley smiled and left the room.

"Nothing to say?" Joker asked before starting to laugh. "Just like the previous boy blunder, you have no manners."

"Batman will come," I said. "He'll throw you back in Arkham."

"That's what I'm planning on Junior," Joker said before continuing to laugh.

He came over to the front of the belt, and stood directly in front of my face. He lifted his hand and ruffled my hair. I growled and spit at him.

"Ah," Joker said pulling his hand back, "just like dear old Jason Todd. You don't how many times that boy always growls and spits at me when I ruffle his hair."

Always? What was Joker talking about? Jason is with the Outlaws on the other side of the world. Why was he talking in the present tense?

"Use your brain Timothy," Joker said referring me by my actual name, "People can't come back from the dead if they were never killed in the first place. I can't believe you and the Bats haven't figured it out yet. Here I thought you were the smartest Robin of the bunch," He ended before cackling.

Once again, Joker's statements were throwing me in a loop. How did Jason not die? Bruce lifted his dead body from the ashes when the warehouse blew up. Bruce buried his body in the cemetery near the manor. Then one day it magically disappeared and Jason was alive again.

How could he not have died? Ra's brought him back with the lazarus pit, and he was with the League of Shadows for quite some time before coming back. Jason even had a white streak in his hair that can't be dyed- trust me he's tried-. Wasn't that the whole reason he came back as Red Hood, all because Bruce didn't avenge his death? Wasn't that why he wanted Joker dead, because he killed him?

"Your mask doesn't need to be off for me to know you're thinking too hard Boy Wonder," Joker said, "Since you'll be my son soon enough, I might as well tell you about Daddy's little secret."

Joker paused before sporting a wicked grin on his face.

"Jason Todd is Daddy's pet project," he said, "for the past three years, he's been my favorite plaything-that is before you came son."

"What did you do to my brother?" I asked.

"Many things my boy," he said laughing, "And the best part? None of you realized that the Jason Todd walking around is merely a clone. The original is in a block of ice, kept alive and unaging for my amusement. Next time you see the clone, say 'Fallen Robin.' it'll make him freeze up."

He paused there. Jason was a clone? How did no one know about that? We knew Superboy was a clone from the very beginning, and we couldn't tell that Jason was? How was that possible? He didn't seem like a clone, and Bruce never said that Jason acted any different from when he was Robin.

"After you kill the Batman and his entourage of sidekicks, maybe I'll show you the original Jason Todd," he said.

"I would never do that!" I yelled in protest.

"Pretty soon you won't have a choice in the matter," He said before screaming, "Harley where's that camera? I'm getting impatient." He said turning around to the front of the room.

I heard the rattling of a video camera, like those big ones they use for TV shows. Harley brought it to the front of the belt I was laying on and set it up.

"Right here!" Harley squealed.

"Now lift the camera and start recording," he said, "Batsy will need to see a full view of his little boy."

Harley raised the camera towards us, and I assumed she started recording. I once again tried to escape, but I was still trapped. Joker turned to the medical table, and uncovered it. I was able to see a bunch of different equipment. Joker lifted up an apron and tied it around himself. Then he picked up the metal claws and smirked.

"Get ready for your transformation my dear boy," he said before cackling.

Before I knew it, I felt a surge of pain go throughout my body. I tried to hold back my screams, but that only made the pain worse. I closed my eyes so I didn't have to see the camera filming, as well as Joker's grin at my pain.

The more the pain increased, the more I wanted to scream. I held back, I knew this is what Joker wanted. I've been through more pain than this. I had Jason tried to kill me at one point, I had my parents die, I had my friends die. All that pain was way worse than the electricity going through my body.

I wasn't going to let Joker win. I just had to stall until Bruce finds me. He has to be close by now, isn't he? He'll be slamming through those doors any minute now, and he'll be ready to take me home to Alfred's cookies.

The shocking stopped when a scream came out. I looked around to see where it came from. The telltale sign that it was me who screamed, was Joker's wide grin. At that moment I realized that Joker got what he wanted.

"Batsy would be so proud at how long you lasted," Joker said with false praise, "you caved at the final voltage."

Joker took the claws away from the belt and put them on the medical table. He turned back around and had a syringe in his hand.

"Now the true fun begins," he said, "I just wanted to hear you scream before the final blow."

He came closer to the belt. Before I tried to break free for a final time, I felt a prickle in my arm. I struggled to move my arms and legs, they felt numb. Nothing wanted to move, and I felt frozen. My eyes started to close, and I made them flutter in an attempt to keep them open. Despite what I wanted, my brain was telling me to go into slumber. In the end, my brain won out and I caved into the darkness.

My eyes opened and I felt myself on a soft bed. My vision became clear and I realized I was in my bedroom. I heard a knob turning. I sat up, and turned my head towards the bedroom door. A woman walked in, and I was relieved at the familiar face. She came over to the bed, felt my forehead and smiled at me lovingly.

"Mommy is so glad you're better!" she said.

I was sick? That certainly would explain why I was so confused, and why everything in my mind was a blur.

Mom grabbed a glass from the bedside table and handed it to me.

"Daddy made this just for you," She said.

I grabbed the glass and started drinking it. There was a tangy flavor mixed in with the water, and it made my mind clearer.

"Daddy will be happy that his baby boy is okay," she said. "I'll go tell him, stay here," she said bopping me on the nose.

She stood up and made her way out of the room. I sat up, pulled the blanket off of me, and got out of bed. I walked in front of my dresser and got a look at myself in the mirror. My hair was its normal green, although a little messier than I'd like it to be. My eyes were their normal red color. As I continued to look, I realized that I was just in boxers. I saw my pale white skin, like my father, and a lot of scratches across my body. On my arm there was an indent, like I stabbed myself.

I heard the door knob open, and I looked at the bedroom door. It started to creep open until it was fully open, and I saw my parents there. My mom had a scared look on her face, and dad looked like he was deep in thought.

"Harley?" Joker asked.

"Yes Mister J?" Harley asked.

"Where did you tell Junior to stay?" he asked.

"In the room," she said.

Dad blinked at her answer, it looked like that wasn't the answer he was expecting. I could see his face morph into a frown.

"Did your mother tell you to stay in this room or in bed?" he asked.

I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. Sometimes I forget that I am unable to speak.

"I'm waiting Junior," Dad said impatiently.

He crossed his arms, and I could see mom getting more worried. I stretched and spread my arms out to try to convey my answer of 'here'. Dad walked up to me and didn't respond.

"Just kidding Junior," he said ruffling my hair, "I know what your mother said."

I heard a sigh of relief come from mother. Dad must've been in a good mood.

"Get into your new clothes Junior, Daddy's got a job for you!" Dad said with a smile.

I got new clothes? Sweet, that never happens. Usually I was told to just stay in my boxers all day long or if Dad was in a good mood I'd be given a hoodie and sweatpants. I went to my closet, opened it, and looked inside. The only thing hanging was a mini replica of what Dad wears all the time. It was a purple jacket and pants, with a green undershirt, and a flower where the shirt pocket would be.

I looked the suit up and down, then looked at my parents. I don't know what came over me, but I ran over to dad and gave him a huge hug. I felt dad stiffen, but then he ruffled my hair and put his arm around my back in return. After a moment he pulled away.

"Can't waste time son," he said pushing me away. "Put on your new suit."

I nodded and went back to the closet. I took the suit out of the closet and put it on. Then I went back to the mirror and looked at myself. This felt right, it felt like I was a mini version of my father. It seems like he was finally proud of me if I was allowed to dress like him.

"Doesn't he look adorable Mister J?" Mom squealed.

I went back near my parents. Dad once again ruffled my hair.

"Let's go Junior," Dad said putting his arm around my shoulders and leading me out of the room, "your debut awaits!"

As we left the room I could hear Mom following along behind us. I could tell she was excited for whatever debut I was going to have. We went to the main room which didn't feel like a living space but it's what worked for us. There was big blocks all around and a small sitting area with a staircase leading up to it. We went towards the back to where there was a curtain. Dad pulled it back and it revealed a conveyor belt with two belts hooked together.

"Okay sweetie, hop up on here and lay down," Mom said unbuckling the belts.

I smiled at her and did just that. She hooked the first belt to where my stomach was but left the second alone. The top part of the belt was raised to where it looked like I was sitting up.

"Stay here," Mom said, "when Daddy gives you the signal, make the best impression you can."

I nodded towards her and smiled the same way Dad does.

They backed away from me and closed the curtain. I was in complete darkness. I wondered what Dad was planning to where I had to make an impression. Were we finally having people over? I couldn't ever remember a time where someone else was here besides my parents.

I closed my eyes and let my mind wonder. I heard the ticking of a clock in the far distance. I let myself relax and match my breathing to the ticking. Eventually everything faded away, and the outside noises were nonexistent.

Holy frick this chapter. I think I need to explain the second part of this chapter a little bit, I do so next chapter but I figured I'd give a short explanation for those confused. There is an unmentioned time skip between Tim getting captured and him being turned into Junior. It wasn't sudden that Junior came about, and that's all I'll say about that.

Less than a month for an update! I am currently working on the next chapter, it's about half done based on how many pages of my notebook I used. Next chapter may be done quicker than this one was. (I really don't pay attention in Philosophy class and this fic is all I can think about lol.) So guess I'll see y'all next chapter! :D
