Hey babes! Back again with a new chapter for this one. I know it's been a while, but here I am posting another chapter in this little story for you.

Enjoy!

"Can you believe I'm actually getting married today?" Skye asks her friend as she stands in front of the full-length mirror in front of her, admiring her dress. The white material flows down to the floor and hugs her body nicely, subtle beading is sewn throughout the bodice with a small plunging neckline.

"It's definitely exciting," Jemma replies, zipping up the back of Skye's dress and then smoothing out the fabric.

"Personally, I think marriage is a bit overrated."

Skye turns and narrows her eyes at her best friend. "Says the woman who's been married three times. To the same man."

"In my defense, I was still young and stupid the first time I married him. And the other two times I was very hammered."

"Yes, I know, Bobbi. I was there your Maid of Honor the first time. And then you called me the other two times in hysterics because you married him again."

"And now I'm carrying his spawn," she says, rubbing her hand over her pregnant belly.

"And a very cute demon spawn it will be," Skye says with a smile. "A spawn that I will love and cherish as the absolute best aunt ever."

"Just don't spoil them rotten, alright? I need my kid to at least be a somewhat decent human being with who it has for a father."

"You still don't know if it's a boy or a girl?" Skye asks her friend, adjusting the bodice of her dress.

"I wanted to find out, but Hunter's insistent on not knowing until the baby is born."

She nods. "Right. Well, Hunter's a bit strange, so that's not surprising." She takes a deep breath. "Is my dress all good to go?" she asks Jemma, glancing over her shoulder.

"Yes, it is," the Brit says, releasing a breath and stepping to the side to smile at her friend through the mirror. "You look very lovely."

Skye smiles back at her friend. "Thank you, Jemma. I'm really excited, but also super nervous about all of this. Is that normal?"

"Completely," Bobbi tells her.

"I wouldn't know if it is," Jemma replies. "In case you're forgetting, I've never been married."

"Yeah, but you almost were."

Jemma scowls. "No, I wasn't. That man never had a chance of becoming my husband and I still can't believe he went around telling people that we were more serious than we were. It was one date and then he's going around thinking we're suddenly engaged. The nerve."

Skye laughs quietly at the annoyed look on her best friends' face. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I know that when you do eventually get married it'll be to Fitz," she says with a smirk.

"Isn't today supposed to be about you and not my non-existent love life?" Jemma asks her friend.

Skye nods. "You're right. Today is about me and Grant and the two of us finally tying the knot after what feels like forever."

"This is a special day," Jemma tells her.

"It definitely is that. Today is the day I've been waiting a long time for. And now it's finally here."

"Yes, it is," Bobbi says from her seat. She struggles a bit to pull herself up onto her feet. "So hurry up and finish getting yourself put together so we can head out there. I'm sure Grant is already waiting for you at the altar as we speak."

Skye takes a deep breath. "Well, then we better get out there. Don't want to keep the future husband waiting."

"No, you don't," Jemma says. "You take a few more moments to yourself in here while we go out there and make sure things are ready for you."

Skye smiles. "Thank you, Jemma. Thanks, Bobbi. You girls are the best."

Jemma smiles back. "You're welcome, Skye."

"Yeah, anything for my best friend," Bobbi adds.

They both pull Skye into a quick hug, careful not to wrinkle her dress, before turning and making her way out of the room, passing Skye's mother on their way out.

"Oh, Melinda, hello. Skye's alone in there if you're looking for some quality mother-daughter time before things get started."

Melinda smiles softly. "Thank you, Jemma. How are you feeling, Bobbi?"

Bobbi sighs. "As well as I can be with the kid sitting on my bladder."

Melinda laughs quietly. "Yes, I remember how that goes. Good luck."

"Thanks."

She gives the woman a smile and then she and Jemma continue on their path to check on the set up for the ceremony.

"I've dreamt about this day before," Melinda says, pulling her daughter's attention to her as she steps into the room.

Skye turns around and smiles wide. "Mom."

"Oh, you look so beautiful, Skye."

Skye glances down at her dress, running her hands over the fabric. "You think so?"

"I know so. You are more beautiful right now that I ever could have imagined."

"You said that you've dreamt about this day before? I always thought parents tried to hang onto their kids being little for as long as possible."

"Oh, we do. But we also hope that one day they'll grow up and find someone who will love them as much as we do. And I can see when you're with Grant that you've found that."

"I'm really happy that you and dad like him. Grant's a really great guy and I really love him, mom."

"I know, sweetheart. You and Grant have something very special, don't ever take it for granted or mistreat it."

"I won't."

"Good." She takes a deep breath and takes a deep breath. "Now, I think there's someone outside waiting to walk you down the aisle."

Skye smiles at the thought of her dad, fighting back the tears she knows she's going to shed if and when she sees her dad crying.

She happily loops her arm through her mom's and then walks with her out the double doors and to where she'll be waiting before it's her turn to walk down the aisle.

Just a few more moments, and then she'll be Mrs. Grant Ward. She can't wait.

.

.

.

"You ready for this, man?"

Grant takes a deep breath and nods his head from where he stands at the altar, dressed in a nice suit with his hair slicked back. He adjusts the front of his suit jacket and shifts on his feet. "But I'm also extremely nervous," he says.

"And that's perfectly normal."

Grant furrows his brows and looks over at his Best Man. "How would you know? You've never been married."

"But I've seen a lot of movies over the years, and when people get married, they're nervous. But they're also happy. So are you happy?"

Grant sighs and nods his head. "Yes, Kebo, I'm happy."

"Good, then you'll be perfectly fine. As soon as you see Skye walking down that aisle, you'll know that this is exactly where you're meant to be."

"I already know that, Kebo. That's why I'm standing here right now."

"Yeah, but that moment will help to solidify the whole thing for you."

Grant nods. "Right. And why did I ask you to be my Best Man again?"

"Because I'm your best and oldest mate and you know you'd never be able to get through this day without me here by your side as your continuous moral support."

"I'm sure I could, but I'll let you keep on thinking that if it's what will help you sleep better at night."

Soft music playing through the speakers set up around the area draws Grant's attention to the far end of the aisle. He smiles kindly when he sees Skye's best friend Bobbi slowly making her way down the aisle as Maid of Honor, followed by Jemma and then Kara.

Once they all reach their spots, the music changes and everyone stands from their seats, turning to face the back.

It's as if she's the only other person in the room when she enters on her father's arm, looking as radiant as ever in her gown.

Their eyes lock as she glides smoothly down the aisle, clutching a beautiful bouquet of daisies; her favorite flower.

"You take care of my baby girl," Phil says to him when they reach the altar, pulling him from his thoughts.

Grant nods and smiles at his soon-to-be father-in-law. "I will, sir. I can promise you that."

"Good." Phil turns to Skye and presses a kiss to her cheek. "I love you, sweetheart."

"Love you too, dad." She gives him a smile and then turns to face Grant, her smile growing wide when she sees him. "Hi."

"Hi. You look...absolutely beautiful."

Skye ducks her head as her cheeks flush and then looks back up. "Thanks. You don't look so bad yourself."

"Ladies and gentlemen," the priest speaks up, "we are gathered together today, to witness the joining of these two souls in holy matrimony."

Standing up at the front of the room, all of their friends and family surrounding them, Grant and Skye can't take their eyes off of each other the entire time the priest is speaking. It's as if nothing else exists in that single moment but the two of them.

"And now at this time," the priest speaks, pulling them from their own little world. "Grant and Skye have chosen to recite their own vows. Grant, if you would please."

Grant slowly nods his head and takes a deep breath as he looks Skye directly in the eyes. He grasps her hands in both of his. "Skye Coulson, I love you. It's as simple as that. I don't think there are any words already written in the English language that can describe the amount of love I have in my heart for you. You're definitely the one for me, and I promise to spend the rest of our days together showing you that. I never want you to doubt my love or support for you. I know we're going to have a great life together, and I can't wait to see what it has in store for us. I'll love you always."

Wiping a few tears from her eyes, Skye smiles up at Grant and then takes a deep, shaky breath. "You are the only man for me, Grant Ward. That first time we met right outside the elevators of my parents' law firm, I didn't want to believe it, but I saw something in you, something I knew I wanted to get to know better. And the moment I realized you weren't going to let a ridiculous rule set up by my father keep us from dating, that you were going to fight for what you wanted, I knew I wanted to be with you forever. You're my home, Grant Douglas Ward, and I love so much about who you are and who I am when I'm with you. I'm so excited to spend the rest of my life by your side."

"Do you have the rings?" the priest asks.

Grant and Skye turn to their respective sides and take the rings behind held out to them by the Best Man and Maid of Honor.

Facing each other again, they take turns sliding the rings onto one another's left-hand ring finger.

"And now, by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you Man and Wife. You may kiss the bride."

Smiling wide, Grant drops Skye's hands, gripping her waist instead and pulling her close to slide his lips over hers.

The crowd around them claps and cheers for the newlyweds, smiles on everyone's faces.

"Wanna get out of here?" Skye asks, pulling away from Grant's lips.

"We still have a reception to go to," he reminds her.

"Damn."

.

.

.

"Alright, now I believe it is time for the speeches," the DJ of the reception speaks into his microphone, looking around the room at the crowd gathered together. "We'll start things off with the Best Man, followed by the lovely Maid of Honor. So, Best Man, where are you at?"

The people in the room clap as Kebo stands from his chair and makes his way up to the front of the room, grabbing the microphone from the DJ.

He takes a deep breath before focusing on the crowd. "Grant's been my best mate for a long time," he says into the microphone. "Too long, sometimes, it seems." He casts a sideways glance at the man in question, earning a small laugh from the crowd. "But, as cheesy and ridiculous as it sounds, I wouldn't trade our friendship for anything. We've been through a whole hell of a lot together, including multiple failed relationships on Grant's part, and I can't think of anyone better suited for my friend than Skye. She's a great woman and really keeps Grant on his toes, which is exactly what he needs in his life." He raises his flute of champagne into the air. "So let's hear it for Grant and Skye, they could not be better suited for each other. Congratulations, you bloody idiot, you finally got someone to love you forever. Despite all of your many, many flaws." The crowd laughs as Kebo smiles over at his friend and then makes his way back over to his seat.

Standing from her own chair, Bobbi moves to the microphone, taking a deep breath, resting one hand under her large belly. "I have known Skye since we were kids when my family moved here in the second grade. We became friends rather quickly, mostly due to Skye's insistence, and I'm very glad that I became her friend. She's a great person to be around, and I know that Grant's a lucky man to have found her. I remember when he first showed up, and Skye told me how despite everyone warning him about her dad's rule, he went to her and asked her on a date. I think I was the only one who knew they were together for the first few months because she cannot keep anything from me, as unfortunate as that can sometimes be." She playfully narrows her eyes at her best friend who just shrugs. "And now here they are, sharing their love with those closest to them. I'm so happy for the both of you. Congratulations."

Turning to her new husband, Skye smiles at him and leans forward. "Have I told you yet how happy I am to be your wife?"

"Probably not as happy as I am to be your husband," he says back with an equal smile.

Skye groans quietly and laughs. "Oh gosh. We're not going to be one of those super sappy couples, are we?"

"So what if we are? I don't think it matters that much. We love each other."

Skye closes the space between them. "Yes, we do."

.

Sliding the keycard through the lock on the hotel room door, Skye smiles as she twists the handle and pushes the door open. Stepping inside, she smiles wider at the amazing view she's met with; Grant really went all out to get them the best suite available.

The bed is littered with rose petals, a cliche that she can't help but love because it's from the man that she loves, and an ice bucket with a bottle of champagne is sitting on a rolling tray at the foot of the bed.

"So, we're here on our honeymoon, on this beautiful tropical island," Grant says casually as he enters the hotel room and drops his and Skye's bags on the floor.

"Yes, we are," Skye says, striding across the carpet and then turning to face him, a sultry smile in place. "We're all alone, just the two of us, together." She kicks her heels off to the other side of the room. "Now go hang the Do Not Disturb sign on the door so we can have some fun without being rudely interrupted."

Grant grins and quickly grabs the sign, hanging it on the doorknob and closing and locking the door.

He turns around to see Skye approaching him, a sway in her hips as she walks. When she gets to him, she reaches up and begins undoing the buttons on his dress shirt.

"I think...that you look...so damn handsome...in this suit," Skye tells her new husband, dropping a kiss to each patch of exposed skin.

She pushes the shirt up and off his shoulders and then stands on her toes to press her lips to his, cupping the back of his neck in her hand to pull him down closer to her.

"And you look so gorgeous in your dress," he says against her lips. "I love you so much."

"I love you too."

The soft ding from the elevator draws the brief attention of everyone in the bullpen, as it usually does whenever someone new arrives on the floor.

"Well, there he is," Mack speaks up when he sees Grant entering the office. He leans back in his chair and grins. "Mr. Newlywed has finally decided to grace us with his presence again."

Grant chuckles as he moves to his desk and sits down, setting his bag down on the floor. "Yes, I'm back from my honeymoon, which was very great, by the way, thanks for asking."

"So did you two find any janitor's closets while you were there to get frisky in?" Kara jokes from her chair.

Grant sighs. "No, Kara, we did not. We had a very large bed to use for that kind of thing. And we did. Every day that we were there."

Kara's face scrunches up. "Gross. That's a mental image I did not need."

Grant shrugs. "You brought it up."

"And I regret it very much."

He laughs quietly as he sits down at his desk, pulling his chair closer and switching his computer on.

"So how does it feel to be married now?" Mack asks him.

"It feels pretty damn good. I get to wake up every morning to the woman I love and so far it's been pretty fantastic."

"Excuse me? Has anyone seen a really tall, sexy Adonis come through here? Jawline that could cut paper, cute face, even cuter butt."

Grant laughs quietly and shakes his head as he stands from his chair. "Skye," he says to his wife, moving slowly toward her across the carpet. "What are you doing here? I'm trying to work."

She smiles slyly. "Who says I came to see you?"

He smiles back. "Oh, but didn't you?"

Skye tilts her head in thought. "Mm. It's definitely a bonus getting to see you here." She reaches up and grabs the lapels of his suit jacket, pulling him down to lock her lips with his in a long kiss.

"I thought I said no PDA in the office."

Pulling apart, Skye grins when she sees her dad, moving forward to give him a hug. "Hi, dad. I missed you."

"I missed you too, Skye. How was your trip?" he asks her when they pull from their hug.

"You mean my honeymoon?" she asks him with a small smile. "Oh, it was nothing short of amazing. Grant and I had so much fun while we were there."

"Most of which happened in your bed, I presume," Kara remarks.

Skye whirls on her friend, her eyes wide. "Kara."

Kara shrugs. "What? Don't try and deny it, you know it's true. You and Grant have never been able to keep your hands off each other. I really don't think that would have changed once you got married and were alone on your honeymoon where you could rip each other's clothes off in the safety of your hotel room with the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door."

"And that is the kind of stuff that I do not ever want to hear about," Phil remarks, a small grimace on his face as he turns around and makes his way back down the hall to his office.

Skye laughs quietly at the look on her dad's face before walking over to Grant and looping her arms up around his neck. "So," she starts, letting out a small breath.

Grant smiles and wraps his own arms around her waist. "So," he repeats.

"Do you want to meet up later on your lunch break?" she asks him, absentmindedly toying with the hairs at the nape of his neck.

"I think I can make that work," he tells her.

"Good." She leans up on her toes to give him a kiss. "I love you."

He smiles against her lips. "I love you too."
