Chapter Eleven: "Tears Of Fallen Heroes"

A/N: I know it's been more than a year since I last posted a chapter for this story. The year 2018 was a very terrible year for me with a lot of drama I wished I was able to avoid and I also lost two dear friends in death who I knew since my childhood. But I'm doing a lot better now and decided to write a huge chapter that's actually two chapters in one. Please leave me your reviews and comments for this huge size chapter.

(A Month Later)

So much can take place and change at the same time within a matter of minutes. In the span of one month, there's just too many things to list to explain all the changes and events that happened. In the case of Davis and Veemon though, their goal in finding Ken's base and retrieving their golden Digi-egg hadn't changed. Also, Davis was still looking into how he could get Veemon to go Mega without the use of DNA digivolving. So far with both objectives, the duo proved unsuccessful but they weren't going to give up either.

Meanwhile, things between Davis and Jun became…awkward as Jun started a habit of getting Davis caught in several of her pranks on him. One of her pranks involved him waking up to life-like fake water bugs on his pillow in front of his face, resulting in Davis freaking out and jumping out of his bed and room in his underwear and right into Jun's camera to catch the comical moment. Davis was heavily annoyed at Jun's latest prank on him yet despite his angered reaction towards her pranks, Jun would give Davis an affectionate kiss on his right cheek after each of her pranks.

A week later, Jun called from home while Davis was out and asked him to buy tampons for her at from the supermarket before he got home. When he told Jun to ask their mother to do that for her, Jun explained that their mother wouldn't be home until late and that she already tried asking her best friend Chizuru who was already too busy with after school work. After she pleaded that she really needed them and promised to pay him back the money she would owe him, Davis relented and went to buy her the brand of tampons she said she needed.

Davis remembered the awkward looks on everyone's faces when they saw him looking through the different brands of tampons as he tried to find the one Jun said she needed. He even he a few whispers from among the women and young girls who saw him there, which made him feel more uncomfortable and awkward. When a female worker finally approached and asked what he was doing and if he needed help with anything, Davis explained his situation to the female worker. Empathizing for Jun, she helped Davis out after she and several other females who heard his story said that he was such a gentleman at his young age doing such a humble and thoughtful act for his older sister. A few of the girls said that their boyfriends and brothers wouldn't be seen dead buying tampons for them.

When Davis returned home with the requested tampons and gave them to Jun however, he was speechless at what Jun revealed to him from her mobile phone. He was shown a recording of everything that happened at the supermarket. Jun revealed that her friend Chizuru had secretly followed and videotaped him at the supermarket searching for the tampon package with the female worker helping him out in finding the one he was looking for. Davis also saw how Chizuru recorded how he was getting all of those compliments from the females saying how much of a gentleman he was for doing this for his big sister.

"I'm not even on my cycle this week!" Jun laughed before she went and affectionately kissed his right cheek, "But thanks for being such a gentleman to me!"

To say Davis was livid about the elaborate prank both Jun and Chizuru played on him would have been an understatement.

(A Week Later)

Davis was in the bathroom showering and shampooing his hair thoroughly, allowing the chemicals to wash through his hair. When he was doing rinsing and his body and hair, he dried himself off and wrapped his towel around his waist. As he passed the mirror however, he stopped and went right back when he saw his reflection.

"JUN!" Davis scream after coming out of the bathroom. He went and found Jun sitting in the living room watching TV and smiling at him as he came hurrying out angrily.

"Seriously?!" Davis shouted angrily as he pointed to his hair which now had blonde highlights mixed his with natural maroon hair color, "What the hell is wrong with you?!"

"Wow Davis!" Jun complimented, "Your hair came out looking better than I thought it would."

"What the hell did you put into my shampoo!?" Davis exclaimed.

"Nothing major," Jun answered, "Just I switched your shampoo and hair conditioner with hair dye. I thought that I could indirectly give your looks an upgrade."

"Damn it Jun!" Davis retorted, "I don't want to go out in public looking like some anime reject!"

"Relax bro," Jun assured, "It's not permanent. But it won't wash out that easily."

"Say what!?" Davis replied, "I have a chess tournament in two days against a rising star from Shinjuku who seeks to challenge me!"

Jun got up and made her way over to Davis as she showed him the box for the hair coloring kit.

"The coloring might last for a week or two," Jun said as she held out the box.

"Noooo!" Davis said with widened eyes as he grabbed and looked at the box.

"Or at least until your hair grows out and you can cut it all off from your head," Jun added as she grinned at his fuming expression.

"JUN!" Davis yelled in outrage, "YOU AND YOUR FREAKING PRANKS!"

"Look at it this way," Jun joked, "If you ask Matt to borrow his school uniform and comb your hair like his, you'll look like a handsome Matt clone."

"Shut up you crude woman!" Davis retorted, "I look more like a damn otaku no thanks to you!"

"I love you too Davis," Jun sang as she went kissed his right cheek and ruffled his hair. Davis turned went into his room and slammed it shut and shouted, "STUPID OLDER SISTER!"

(The Next Morning)

Kari was outside waiting for Davis as she normally does before walking to school with him. She was both shocked and baffled when she saw how Davis' hair looked like when he came out of the building complex.

"Davis?" Kari asked, "What's with the wild blonde look all of a sudden?"

"Jun and her damn pranks again," Davis grumbled, "She switched my shampoo and hair conditioner with hair dye."

"You look like a young Minato Namikaze from that Naruto anime," Kari remarked, "All you need now is to dress like the Yondaime Hokage."

"I didn't think you were one to read Shōnin Jump mangas Kari," Davis replied, "Veemon had me watch the American dubbed anime version of that manga once and I cringed whenever Naruto kept seeing "Believe it!" in oppose to "Dattebayo"."

The couple made their way to school on a timely basis. But the staring and funny looks ensued upon their arrival when everyone saw how Davis' hair looked like now. When TK, Yolei and Cody saw how Davis looked, they wondered and asked Davis what was up with his sudden change in hairstyle. Though Davis explained what happened, TK joked about how Davis now looked like an actual golden Child of Miracles while Kari said Davis looked more like Minato and Naruto, both of whom were said to be the promised Child of Prophecy. Davis, annoyed enough as it was, told both of them to knock it off as they continued into the school building.

(Two Weeks Later)

Jun was coming out of the showers and typically she was prancing around the place wearing only her towel around her body with nothing else on. She went and sat in the living room. While watching TV, Jun wondered, 'What new prank can I pull on my beloved little brother?'

After seeing a particular commercial with what was being advertised on it, a certain prank come to mind.

'It's a bit mean spirited,' Jun then smiled mischievously, 'But I'm sure Davis will eventually get over it.'

(Another Two Days Later)

Davis was sleeping comfortably in his bed when his alarm went off. He reached out and turned it off before stretching his arms out. Sitting up and yarning briefly, he soon felt something was off. He looked down to see two flat rectangular pieces of paper placed over his chest, and specifically over his chest nipples. When he tried to pulled them off however, he immediately stopped when he realized what those two pieces of paper were.

"Wax paper!?" Davis exclaimed, knowing who the culprit was, "JUN!"

"No need to shout!" Jun laughed appearing behind Davis' bed, "Had a nice sleep?"

"Seriously!?" Davis remarked with a highly irritated and maddening tone, "Wax paper!?"

"It's not that big a deal Davis," Jun said giggled, "But you'll have to pull them off."

"And you placed them over my chest nipples?!" Davis screeched, "Are you insane!?"

"I can help you pull them off if you like," Jun offered as she couldn't stop laughing at Davis' angered expression. As Jun was about to reach out..,

"Don't touch them!" Davis warned as he smacked Jun's hand away from him.

"They got to come off sometime Davis," Jun chimed sweetly, "You can either let me help you or you can pull them off yourself. Either way, they'll have to come off."

Davis argued, "I'm not letting you-"

Davis got distracted when a message chimed on his mobile phone. Taking advantage of his momentary distraction, Jun quickly reached out and pulled off both sheets of the wax paper from his chest. Davis' reaction was instantaneous when he screamed loudly and clasped his chest where Jun pulled off the wax paper. He fell to his knees as he cringed and groaned loudly from the sheer pain that tore through his chest now.

"AAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!" Davis screamed while holding and rubbing his pained chest, "AAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaasaahhh! Yooooooooooo! I'm gonna kill you!"

"You see? That didn't take long now did it?" Jun sang as if she was chanting a lullaby while holding the removed wax papers in her right hand.

"Imma kill you!" Davis groaned with a strained voice and cringed, "It literally feels like I was just skinned alive!"

"It's not strong enough to literally pull your skin off," Jun replied. Davis turned to Jun and shouted, "You think this is funny!? You crude sadistic woman!"

"Well at least it removed the hairs off your chest," Jun joked, "Wouldn't Kari appreciate your improved smoothed bodily features?"

Davis looked up at Jun from the floor he was kneeling on and promised, "You will live to regret this!"

"I love you too Davis," Jun replied with her mischievous smile never leaving her face before she leaned down and affectionately kissed his right cheek, "You'll want to get ready for school now. Kari will no doubt be waiting for you downstairs if she isn't already there downstairs waiting for you."

Davis stood back up and massaged his chest to soothe the pain until it gradually subsided.

"Don't be in my room when I get back," Davis said as he went to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

(Later That Day)

Davis and Veemon were in an isolated region in the Digital World. Davis was having Veemon practice and train using his newly acquired powers, strengths and abilities he gained from all of the Digimons he assimilated. This also made Veemon a lot faster and stronger than usual in all of his other forms, armored and non-armored alike. He also had Veemon train in his alternate form Champion which was Veedramon and his alternate Ultimate form as AeroVeedramon. But it still frustrated both Davis and Veemon that they still didn't figure out how the alternate Mega form could be achieved. After training as Veedramon and AeroVeedramon, Davis' partner changed back to Veemon.

"Veemon," Davis recalled, "If I remember correctly, you assimilated a number of Bakemons also on the same day you assimilated Phantomon."

"I did," Veemon confirmed, "So what about it?"

"The Bakemon also had the ability to change shape to any human or Digimon," Davis said, "Did you also gain that ability?"

"Come to think of it," Veemon considered, "I never thought about that until now."

"You should have," Davis remarked, "Considering that absorbing them should have given you all of their strengths and abilities."

"I'll summon all of their powers and give it a shot," Veemon said as he summoned all of the power of the Bakemon he assimilated. Soon he felt their strengths and abilities activating within his being. Focusing, Veemon looked at Davis and suddenly changed into Davis' exact likeness and height.

"Hello me," Veemon (Davis) said in the exact vocal likeness of Davis, "I look as handsome as the original!"

"I wonder what Kari would say to that," Davis remarked. Grinning, Veemon suddenly changed into Kari's appearance and with the perfect imitation of Kari's voice, Veemon (Kari) replied, "Nice try, but I prefer the original Davis to cheap imitations!"

"Change into a different Digimon," Davis instructed. Veemon (Kari) then focus and changed shaped again, this time into the exactly likeness of Hawkmon. Flapping his wings, Veemon (Hawkmon) flew around Davis and said, "It's a totally different feeling having to use my arms as wings to fly than to have wings grown out of my back or just being able to fly without wings."

"I can just imagine," Davis said, "But I'm not a Digimon so I can't say I can relate."

Veemon (Hawkmon) then flew over to the face Davis and changed shape for a fourth time, this time into a Bakemon.

"Davis!" Veemon (Bakemon) declared in pretense, "Prepare to feel the wrath and power of a thousand dead Digimon!"

"Funny!" Davis remarked, "Now change back to normal."

Veemon did as Davis requested and changed back to his normal appearance and form.

"What's it like having the ability to change shape?" Davis asked.

"It's like having no solid form," Veemon said, "It felt as though I was completely shapeless with the creativity to mold myself into whatever form I need to suit my intentions and purpose. Since I can change into either a male or female of any human or Digimon, I wonder if that means that I no longer have a gender."

"If you were a mythical ancient hermaphrodite Digimon," Davis joked, "Then I doubt Gatomon would be of interest to you since you would have no desires to mate with her. You'd just reproduce on your own asexually."

"Reproducing on my own," Veemon retorted, "That's boring!"

"I'm just calling it out for what it is," Davis replied.

"Whatever," Veemon replied before changing into a form that neither Davis nor himself have seen in years

"Maybe I should have considered having a girlfriend after becoming a billionaire in my previous life," Veemon joked after morphing into Davis' original future 27-year-old multi-billionaire appearance. Davis' eyes widened when he saw the stunt Veemon pulled.

"ARE YOU INSANE!?" Davis panicked in urgency, "CHANGE BACK NOW BEFORE ANYONE ELSE SEES YOU IN THAT FORM!"

Veemon immediately turned back to normal before he was met with Davis' furious death glare. Veemon realized that he had seriously crossed the line as he now sported a very nervous look on his face.

"That was both stupid and reckless what you just did!" Davis scolded seriously, "If anyone, human or Digimon alike, saw that you change into my previous adult self, we'd be compromised, big time! Even Gennai doesn't know about our previous lives or how I looked like before time and history had reset themselves. Never change into that appearance again!"

"I'm sorry," Veemon apologized, "I wasn't thinking and I didn't realize that severity of my actions if we were caught."

Davis calmed down and said, "Just don't do it again. We would have too much to explain to everyone if that secret between us was ever discovered. I may be 13 years old outwardly, but internally I'm in my early 30s."

"Which is why you don't act like a common junior high school teenager," Veemon remarked, "However, Cody sees you a role model because of your adult character. Recently, I've observed how he tries to copy and imitate your demeanor and personality. He really admires and sees you a true leader and teacher."

"I've been thinking of leading Cody and Yolei to the locations of the other two digi-eggs," Davis revealed, "We already know that Cody gets the Digimon egg of Reliability while Yolei gets the Digi-egg of Sincerity."

"You think they're ready for us to lead them to those two digi-eggs?" Veemon asked.

"Ready or not," Davis replied, "They'll have to learn to be reliable and sincere quickly," Davis then recalled the past, "I can still remember how things took place the first time around in our previous life: I recall how Joe gave Cody some words of encouragement before Cody went to acquire the Digi-egg of Reliability," Davis expression then turned irate, "With Yolei however, the very fact her sincerity in how looked down on me was one of the key factors that got her that Digi-egg of Sincerity both sickened and disgusted me!"

"I know," Veemon replied, "I remember that incident when Digitamamon got taken over by the control ring that was inside his egg body years ago. You were so pissed at how Yolei complimented and praised TK before she openly insulted you in front of everyone that under your breath you called Yolei a major bitch. No one else but me heard you since they were too busy watching Yolei having a tantrum with Digitamamon."

"Well…," Davis then acknowledged, "That was the old Yolei and thankfully she doesn't exist anymore."

"True," Veemon agreed, "But what if she did?"

"Then I would make sure to aptly put her in her place," Davis replied, "You should know by now that I'm not one who enjoys nostalgia with people's crap. But still," Davis admitted, "It irritates me that I'm haunted by memories of past events that are now irrelevant to our new lives."

"I can relate," Veemon replied, "But it's not like we can share that with anyone else. Besides, I don't know how Kari and Gatomon would react to knowing how old we really are."

"Veemon you're ancient and the oldest and strongest Digimon out of the entire group," Davis said, "And I wouldn't be surprised if it's proven that you're far older than me. Kari would feel odd and creeped out if she realized she's dating a 31-year-old man turned 13-year-old, literally."

"Shouldn't you be in jail for statutory Davis?" Veemon joked and laughed, "Some might consider you a predator!"

"Shut up!" Davis retorted before he clobbered Veemon in the head, "Don't make those kinds of jokes!"

"Why not?" Veemon snorted, "You and Jun make worse ones to each other. Even her pranks on you are on a whole other level."

"I'll deal with Jun later," Davis replied, "It's nothing I can't handle when dealing with her."

"Whatever you say," Veemon replied before changing the subject, "In any case, did Gennai find out any information about that scroll I found more than a month ago?"

"I've been meaning to ask him about that honestly," Davis admitted, "But I never got around to doing so."

"I still want to know more about those seven demon lord Digimons that IceDevimon was talking about," Veemon said, "In our previous life, MaloMyotismon was one of the worst demon Digimon we had to destroy."

"You killed and destroyed him as Imperialdramon in your fighter form," Davis said, "After you gathered all of the powers from every Digidestineds' digivices and D3s from around the world for your Giga Death attack."

"And Armageddomon was even worse than MaloMyotismon," Veemon recalled, "I had to upgrade to Imperialdramon Paladin Mode to destroy him and that required the powers of Omnimon in order for me to reach that level and rank as a Royal Knight."

"That makes me wonder what your alternate Royal Knight form will be through your line of digivolution as Veedramon." Davis stated.

"What makes you so sure that my Mega form through Veedramon will be a Royal Knight?" Veemon asked curiously.

"First off," Davis explained, "We have Magnamon, your original armor digivolution and your strongest golden armor Royal Knight form, with the power of Miracles. Next, we have Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, your highest DNA digivolved level achieved through requiring the powers of Omnimon. So far, all of your strongest Mega forms are all Royal Knight dragon Digimon. Therefore, it's only logical to conclude that your next Mega form through your Veedramon digivolution line will be a Royal Knight."

"That's an interesting deduction," Veemon said.

"In any case," Davis said, "We'll have to be more prepared for our other enemies who'll rise after the fall of the Digimon Emperor. Oikawa, Arukenimon and Mummymon will make their appearance known to us soon after Ken is defeated."

"Assuming that he doesn't kill us first," Veemon remarked, "He got dangerously close with IceDevimon a month ago. That android copy of you saved your life that time."

"It did indeed," a voice said. Davis and Veemon turned to see Gennai approaching them.

"Gennai," Davis greeted, "I didn't expect to find you out here."

"I'm found in many unlikely places my boy," Gennai replied, "Something you and your partner are also known for."

"That's only because you have a habit of summoning us in all the unusual places," Davis said, "What brings you here?"

"I managed to find a lot of important and amazing history from that scroll Veemon found," Gennai revealed.

"You did?" Veemon replied.

"It wasn't easy to translate," Gennai stated, "The text used in that scroll were ancient hieroglyphics used during the olden dark days of the Digital World, a period you yourself lived in at one time Veemon."

"So I've heard," Veemon remarked.

"What did you learn from the scroll?" Davis inquired.

"The scroll speaks of the wicked seven great demon lord Digimons," Gennai explained, "They were a group of demon lord Digimons who each represent one of the seven deadly sins, namely pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth. Not only that, they each also had their own crest."

"Did the scroll reveal the names of those wicked Digimons and the symbol and crest they were associated with?" Davis asked.

"It did," Gennai revealed and elaborated, "Lucemon their leader, he represents Pride and his crest is Paradise of Loss; Leviamon represents Envy and his crest is Abyss of Despair; Daemon represents Wrath and his crest is Hellfire of Chaos; Belphemon represent Sloth and his crest is Roar of Awakening; Barbamon represents Greed and is crest is Schemer of Gold; Beelzemon represents Gluttony and his crest is Duelist of Finality; Lilithmon represents Lust and her crest is Goddess of Darkness."

"It goes without say that those were no pushover dark Mega Digimons," Davis remarked.

"The seven great demon lords were the chief nobility of their dark empire and each member had the right to command legions of the "Nightmare Soldiers." They are also able to overthrow the cycle of reincarnation presided over by Anubimon—instead of having the chance to be reborn, the data of their victims became their own flesh and blood."

"So like Veemon," Davis realized, "They also had the ability to assimilate of other Digimons."

"That's correct," Gennai confirmed, "This was also why Digimons like Veemon were highly feared by other Digimons. Despite their might however, this group had a natural rivalry with the Noble Court of the Royal Knights, the group that was founded by Veemon's brother."

"Say what?" Davis and Veemon both asked simultaneously with dumbfounded expressions.

"But Veemon was said to be the only one of his kind," Davis replied.

"As I told you before," Gennai said, "There's much about Veemon's past and history that's shrouded in many speculations. But I managed to learn much about Veemon's past thanks to that scroll he found. It turned out that Veemon had two brothers, and all three of them were triplets born at the same time directly from Dracomon. But of the three, one of them founded and established the order of the Royal Knights with you and your other brother being one of the Royal Knights."

"I had two brothers?" Veemon asked in disbelief, "And one of them established the order of the Royal Knights that I was part of with my other triplet brother?"

"That's right," Gennai continued, "You were part of that order as Magnamon while your brother who founded the order of the Royal Knights was its leader as Imperialdramon Paladin Mode. Your other brother was part of that order as UlforceVeedramon."

Those were huge bombshells for Davis and Veemon especially since Veemon became Imperialdramon Paladin Mode in their previous lives when they were battling Armageddomon. So many questions raced through Davis' and Veemon's heads but were quick to stay quiet for good reasons.

'If we blurt that Veemon became Imperialdramon and later Imperialdramon Paladin Mode before,' Davis realized, 'It would raise a whole world of questions from Gennai that Veemon and I really don't want to explain. We would end up having to explain everything to Gennai about our previous lives and how completely different they were.'

Veemon was thinking the same thing alongside Davis though Gennai took their brief silence as them contemplating on what they were hearing for the first time. Veemon broke the brief silence with his inquiry, "The Noble Court of the Royal Knights? So they were an organized group of Mega Digimons in armored form, right?"

"That's right," Gennai confirmed, "The other members of the Royal Knights were Alphamon, Craniamon, Crusadermon, Dynasmon, Examon, Gallantmon, Gankoomon, Jessmon, Kentaurosmon, Leopardmon and Omnimon. Under your brother's leadership, they had an army of Knightmons under their command."

"Omnimon?" Davis questioned, "Didn't WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon DNA digivolved into Omnimon two years ago to battle that powerful computer virus that was spreading across the internet?"

"Yes they did," Gennai confirmed, "They became Omnimon, but not that original one of the ancient times who was part of the court of the Royal Knights. Agumon and Gabumon, Tai's and Matt's partners respectively, weren't there during the dark reign of the demon lord Digimons. Otherwise, there would have been ancient relics and discovered artifacts indicating they were. But there are no such records of that being the case."

"That clears that matter up," Davis remarked.

"Is there more about my past the scroll revealed?" Veemon inquired.

"Together," Gennai continued, "All of you were a powerful and formidable elite band of Digimons that battled against the seven demon Digimons and their entire empire. The fighting between those two opposing forces was fierce, but the Royal Knights along with their army conquered and defeated the seven demon lord Digimons' army in many battles. Complete victory against seven wicked Digimons and their army was nearly within their grasp, until the black day when two members of the Royal Knights became traitors."

"What!?" Davis and Veemon shouted in shocked.

"Are you serious!?" Veemon asked in disbelief, "There were traitors within my brother's court?"

"Specifically, Crusadermon and Dynasmon," Gennai revealed, "From what the scroll explained, Crusadermon and Dynasmon sided with Lucemon, exchanging their loyalty for a path to the Real World in order to rule it. They worked as spies for Lucemon and systematically led their fellow Royal Knights to their tragic demise by ambush from the demon lord Digimons."

"It's bad enough that they became traitors!" Davis commented with indignation, "But they also plotted and sold out their comrades to be murdered by their arch-enemies, as if for thirty pieces of silver! That's unforgiveable!"

"Their crimes and betrayal were unforgivable!'" Gennai agreed, "Imperialdramon Paladin Mode was the first to be targeted since he was the leader and the strongest of the Royal Knights. It took armadas to battle him down to exhaustion. But in the end, he gave you, as Magnamon, his will and power, naming you the new leader of the Royal Knights before he willfully sacrificed himself in his exhausted state to save an entire city and its Digimons that the demon lords had plotted to destroy and assimilate.

"You, your other brother and other loyal Royal Knights only had a brief period to mourn Imperialdramon Paladin Mode's death, but all of you vowed to honor his heroic sacrifice as they acknowledged you as his successor."

"Some time later, UlforceVeedramon was targeted next and taken down and like Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, he gave you his will and power before his demise, leaving you as the only Veemon, the last of the three brothers."

Veemon was in a complete state of disbelief. He didn't know what to think or what to feel. In his previous life, there was no mention of other Veemons like himself existing, only that he was the only one of his kind, and that no one ever saw him before since he was sealed away under the Digi-egg of Courage waiting for his human partner to awaken and free him. Davis was also given this a lot of serious contemplating as, like Veemon, he was mentally analyzing what he and his partnering were listening to.

Veemon asked, "Why were my brothers and I targeted first? Not that the others should have been targeted I mean."

"Of the Royal Knights," Gennai explained, "You and your triplet brothers were the strongest and possess hidden potential. You three were considered the biggest threat to the reign and existence of the seven demon lord Digimons and they wanted you three out of the way, hoping the that the death of the thee Veemon brothers would move the Royal Knights to disband and go their separate ways. But with the exceptions of the two traitors, the Royal Knights possessed a strong sense of justice, a bonding brotherhood among each other and loyalty to their duty to protect all of the Digimons from the demon lord Digimons."

"When Magnamon later discovered that Crusadermon and Dynasmon were the traitors responsible for the betrayal and murders of his Royal Knights, he battled and assimilated both of them and used the combined powers and strengths he gained from them to become Magnamon X. As Magnamon X, he, Alphamon, Gallantmon his last remaining Royal Knights, waged their final battle against the seven great demon lords and their forces. Magnamon X, Alphamon and Gallantmon had no intentions of pulling back or retreating. It was victory or death.

"In the end, the Royal Knights were victorious, but as an old saying goes, "There's no blessing without sacrifice"."

"What do you mean?" Veemon asked.

"In other words, Veemon," Davis explained, "Your victory over the seven demon lords came at a severe price, one that was no doubt extreme."

"Something both you and Veemon should understand from personal experience by now after all your battles against Millenniummon himself," Gennai stated gravely, "Alphamon and Gallantmon were fatally wound and just before dying, they gave their last remaining power to Magnamon X. The power he had was only enough to imprisoned and sealed away the seven demon lords, but unfortunately, not enough to destroy them once and for all. Magnamon X used nine keys to seal away the seven demon lords, but the scroll doesn't say what those nine keys are or where Magnamon X sealed away those wicked Digimons.

"But sealing them away exhausted the power of the golden Digi-egg of Miracles, forcing Magnamon X to revert to Veemon. It's speculated that Magnamon X left a guardian to watch other that prison and to prevent the demon lord Digimons' release though it didn't say what type of guardian it was. But if that speculation is true, then those who might have found where that prison is never lived to reveal its location."

"I hope you're taking all of this in Veemon," Davis remarked, "Hopefully this will refresh your memories in some form or other."

"If I start remembering anything, I'll let you be the first to know," Veemon replied.

"Shortly after the fall of Lucemon and his fellow demon lords, Veemon himself was sealed away shortly," Gennai explained, "I believe it was Azulongmon's doing that Veemon, being the last of his kind, was sealed away many thousands of years ago, no doubt for his protection before the mass genocide of Digimon with assimilating abilities took place."

"But what holds true is that I'm the last of the Royal Knights," Veemon stated.

"Sad but true," Gennai said.

"We learned a lot today about Veemon's past and about those seven demon Digimon," Davis said, "It's clear that someone is trying to locate where exactly Magnamon X sealed them away and the keys he used to imprison them."

"It would be disastrous if those demon lords are freed from their prison," Gennai warned, "They would bring chaos and horrors not only upon the Digital World but in time the Real World as well, something we cannot allow."

"My team and I will do whatever it takes to prevent that from happening," Davis assured, "In the meantime, I'll continue to search for where the Digimon Emperor is located."

(Meanwhile In New York)

It was the evening hour, and Mimi was tinkering with her laptop reading all of her emails and the ones Izzy sent to her to her concerning everything that's been happening and how Davis and the group had been battling the Digimon Emperor. She was especially relieved and concerned when Izzy explained how Davis had dangerously close calls with death and came dangerously too close when they went up against IceDevimon. What got Mimi was despite all the hazards and perils to his life Davis has to face constantly that he never changed or became pessimistic about anything. Davis was always in high spirits about everything always being brave and willing to continue leading the team and if he had so, Davis said he would die for everyone.

"Davis is nothing like how Tai was back then from what I've been finding out about him," Mimi said to herself, "Then again, none of us had Davis' maturity. Still, it's so hard to believe that Davis is so grown and adult-like for his age. I really ought to meet him and his new team and see for myself what else is there to Davis."

(Two Days Later; In The Digital World)

Davis and Veemon were leading Cody, Joe, Armadillomon and Gomamon to an underwater marine observation base at the beach.

"Are you sure about not bringing the others with us?" Cody asked,

"For this mission," Davis replied, "It's not necessary. I came out here with Veemon yesterday to investigate this terrain and came across an abandoned underwater marine observation base. We went inside and searched around until we found something very important inside that marine base."

"What was that?" Joe asked.

"Another digi-egg," Davis answered, "This one having the symbol of Reliability."

"And I take it that you want me to try to lift it first before allowing Cody to try himself," Joe deduced.

"Precisely," Davis confirmed, "It's a digi-egg for armor digivolving no doubt. But that digi-egg isn't for me. I can't lift it. But since you're the predecessor of the Crest of Reliability, I felt you could try to left that digi-egg up."

"Izzy and Sora weren't able to lift the digi-eggs that bared their corresponding crests," Gomamon reminded

"And chances are I might not be able to lift that digi-egg either," Joe stated.

"Perhaps," Davis said, "Yet TK and Kari were able to lift and utilize the digi-eggs that bared their corresponding crests."

"Point taken," Joe replied as they entered that abandoned underwater marine observation deck, "But why didn't you consider having Yolei, TK and Kari brought along so they could try to lift that digi-egg also if it turns out that I can't lift it?"

"They won't be able to," Davis answered straightforwardly.

"What makes you so sure?" Joe asked. Davis didn't want to tell Joe what he truly knows, and seeing how Joe was trying to probe him for an explanation, Davis replied, "My golden Crest of Miracles assures me of this. It made your crest and the ones TK and Kari once had."

"I see," Joe said while adjusting his glasses, "That would make sense seeing that you bear the progenitor crest."

"That's a peculiar way to put it but if that works for you…," Davis said and left off at that.

'I don't want to a repeat of what happened last time with Mega Seadramon and all that emotional drama of Cody crying because he told a lie to get Joe out of class to come help and save us,' Davis thought, 'It makes no sense to needlessly go through all that again when it can be avoid since Ken doesn't yet know about this location's existence. The Digi-egg of Sincerity however is another story. I don't know how I'll get Yolei to quickly find and utilize that digi-egg without an emotional tirade like in my previous life.'

The six of them started their descent down into the base, going down quite a number of flights of stairs as they went deep into the marine observation base. A minute went by and they were still descending down the stairs.

"How much further do we have to go?" Gomamon asked, "At this rate we might as well descend down into the Mariana Trench."

"Relax," Veemon said, "We're almost there. It's just a few more flight of stairs."

"Too bad we couldn't just slide our way down," Armadillomon commented.

"My sentiments exactly," Gomamon replied.

After another minute, the group arrived at the level Davis and Veemon were leading them to.

"Come," Davis instructed, "It's here in the chamber within this area."

The gang followed Davis and Veemon towards their destination. Soon, they arrived at the platform and saw from a short distance the Digi-egg of Reliability.

"That's the digi-egg I was talking about," Davis stated as he pointed to the digi-egg on the ground ahead of them, "It has the symbol of the crest you once possessed Joe."

"I clearly see that," Joe said as she walked pass the group with Gomamon in the attempt to lift the digi-egg. He stood in front of it and reached down for it, but found that he wasn't able to lift the digi-egg at all. He tried with all his might, but he was unable to lift it.

"It won't budge!" Joe strained, "It's like trying to pull up a piece of steel that's cemented to that ground," Joe stopped and stood back at as he turned to the others, "I can't lift it. Clearly it's not meant for me."

"Either that or you need to exercise more to get your muscles up," Gomamon joked.

"I'm not that weak or puny-looking Gomamon," Joe retorted.

Davis nodded his head in acknowledgement and turned to Cody and instructed, "Cody, try to retrieve the Digi-egg of Reliability."

Cody wordlessly complied and went over to where Joe stood with Armadillomon following close by. Looking at the artifact in front of him, Cody leaned down and effortless lifted the digi-egg from off the ground.

"Wow!' Joe praised, "You actually did it!'

"Davis was right!" Cody cheered, "It was meant for me! Now I have two digi-eggs!"

"Which mean I have two armor digivolutions!" Armadillomon cheered. Their moment of jubilation was cut short when…

"Hello Davis," came Ken's voice resonating from around the chamber, "It's nice that you made your way back here."

'Shit!' Davis cursed to himself, 'I was sure that Ken didn't know about this place yet!'

Davis looked around and found loud speakers installed around the chamber and a camera.

'Those loud speakers and camera weren't here before!' Davis realized, 'They weren't even here in my previous life!'

"The Digimon Emperor!" Cody said pointing the obvious, "He's here in this facility?"

"No!" Davis corrected, "And those loud speakers and camera weren't in this chamber before either! The Digimon Emperor must have spied and followed me here somehow and had those loud speakers installed while Veemon and I weren't here."

"Aren't you on point," Ken replied through the loud speakers, "But I must admit that your new hairstyle is a pathetic attempt at a disguise if it was meant to throw me off. Not that it matters either way. I was looking to just rid myself of both you Davis and Veemon today. But it looks like your four friends will be sharing your grave!"

The base suddenly shook violently after a loud explosion was heard.

"What the hell!?" Davis yelled as he turned to the windows of the observation deck to see that they were under attack by three Seadramons that had control rings attached to their tails.

"We're under attack!" Davis pointed out, "By three Seadramons!"

The three Seadramon resumed their assault on the observation deck from outside as they were looking to rupture the chamber and flood the entire facility. They struck the outside walls of the chamber again and again until a large hole was ruptured through the wall and begin flooding the chamber fast.

"Cody!" Davis instructed, "Use your newly acquired digi-egg on Amadillomon, now!"

"I'm on it!" Cody obeyed as he raised and held up his new digi-egg, "Digi-armor energize!"

"Armadillomon armor digivolve to…Submarimon, Reliable Guardian of the Seas!"

Submarimon was a submarine with a long drill-like horn resembling the tusk of a narwhal.

"You're a submarine!" Cody exclaimed.

"At your service!" Submarimon replied as he open the hatch of the cockpit, "Come! Get aboard and we'll handle those Seadramon together!"

Cody nodded and quickly got aboard the cockpit of Submarimon. After Cody sat himself down and took hold of the control handles, the hatch closed over him. That was in time as the hole got wider and bigger from another attack from the Seadramons.

"Let's get the hell out of here before we drown here!" Davis yelled seeing that the danger just worsened for them as the water level was rising and had passed their kneecaps and rising up towards their waist.

"Good idea!" Joe agreed as they and their Digimons hurried through the rising waters and through where they came from as the level of the water was quickly rising and flooding the chamber.

"Veemon!" Davis asked, "Would it be possible to digivolve to ExVeemon and get us out of here?"

"The space here is too narrow and cramped, so that's a no!" Veemon answered regretfully, "But I can do something better!"

Another violent attack struck and heavily shook the area they were in and ruptured two huge holes in the wall, flooding water into the stair well chamber they were in. The seawater was coming in fast at an alarming rate as debris from the top of the stairwell starting falling from above and dangerously too close to them as they plunged into the rising waters.

"Whatever you have in mind Veemon, do it now!" Davis yelled urgently. Veemon summoned Cyberdramon's wings and strength and IceDevimon's large arms and hands.

"Cool man!" Gomamon complimented, "Now you look like a living Frankenstein!"

"Enough jokes!" Veemon replied before taking hold of Davis in his right hand and Joe in his left hand. Gomamon jumped into Joe's arms and was now being carried by his partner.

"Here we go!" Veemon said before flying upwards through the narrow chamber that was quickly flooding with seawater. He also had to avoid falling debris that came in his direction from the collapsing marine base.

Meanwhile, Cody while inside Submarimon, was dealing with the three Seadramons attacking and collapsing the marine observation base. The three of them gave Cody and his partner a bit of a struggle but the young boy and his partner started pulling through.

"Oxygen Torpedo!" Submarimon yelled as he discharged super-compressed oxygen from its snout. The attack struck and stunned one of the Seadramon, giving Submarimon time to rush in and destroy the control ring that was attached to its tail.

"That's one down and two to go!" Submarimon said before two of the remaining Seadramons came after them.

"Incoming!" Cody said with urgency as Submarimon turned his attention to the coming dangers.

"I got this!" Submarimon said confidently, "Submarine Attack!"

Submarimon instantly accelerated in the direction of one of the Seadramons and performed a ramming attack while spinning the drill on its snout. The attack struck and destroyed the control ring on that Seadramon, freeing it from Digimon Emperor's control.

"That's two down and one to go!" Cody cheered. The last one however changed course and quickly started making its way to the surface.

"It's running away?" Submarimon asked.

"Why is it going…," Cody said and then realized, "It's going for Davis! We have to stop him!"

"On it!" Submarimon complied before he hurried rushed in pursuit of the remaining Seadramon. Seadramon appeared from the surface of the seawater and looked around for Davis and Veemon. Before it could locate them…

"Aqua Vulcan!" Submarimon shouted as he appeared on the surface and fired water beams at Seadramon from its drill. The attack struck Seadramon back, causing it to fall backwards with its tail flipped from out of the water and into the air, revealing the control ring attached to its tail.

"Fire at the control ring!" Cody said.

"You got it!" Submarimon complied, "Aqua Vulcan!"

Submarimon fired his water beam attack at the control ring and hit it dead on, destroying it and freeing the remaining Seadramon.

"That takes care of them," Submarimon stated, "Let's go find the others."

"Right!" Cody said, "Hopefully they made it out in time."

Submarimon swam all the way back to the shore where the collapsed marine base was. Upon arriving, he and Cody found Davis and the others running and hurrying over to them. Submarimon opened the hatch to allow Cody to jump out and land on the wet sandy shores. Soon, Davis and the group met up with Cody and Submarimon.

"Excellent work Cody!" Davis praised, "You and Submarimon took on and beat those three Seadramons all by yourselves! You both have gotten strong on these pass couple of missions."

"Thank you," Cody said happily, "But it's only because of your leadership and training that we came this far. And now thanks to you I have two digi-eggs in my possession."

"You used that Digi-egg of Reliability most effectively," Joe said, "I'm impressed at your abilities Cody. You truly were reliable in battling and freeing those three Seadramons."

"It gave us time to escape from that marine base before it completely flooded and collapsed into the sea," Davis said, "Taking on and defeating three Seadramons is impressive feat Cody."

"I learned from you," Cody replied, "You took on three Monochromons and even rode on one of them as they were trying to burn and kill you. I don't think I can match that."

"Such modesty," Davis replied as he playfully ruffled Cody's hair, "I'm sure you got that from your grandpa."

"That," Cody remarked, "And those packages of prune juices he be trying to get me to drink all the time."

"If you have any on hand then I'll take them 'cause I'm thirsty," Gomamon said.

"Let's leave and return back to the Real World before the Digimon Emperor tries to ambush us again," Davis suggested, "But on the way, we can stop by Digitamamon's restaurant and get something to eat and drink there."

(Later That Night)

Jun was coming from out of the shower having taken a refreshing warm bath. Entering her room, Jun finished dried herself up and placed on a clean pair of panties. She was about to place on her sleeping gown until she thought about what Davis said about sleeping without his sleeping clothes on.

"Why not?" Jun said to herself as she decided to forgo putting on her sleeping gown and just head to bed in just her panties. Getting on her bed and laying on her back, she grabbed her phone and started texting Matt to see if he was still awake. To her delight, he was still was, which started their conversation that would last for the next hour.

Meanwhile, Davis was inside his own room sending messages to Kari and the rest of the group and the older Digidestineds about meeting up at the park in two days to explain to them information he got from Gennai about Veemon's ancient past and history. All the DigiDestineds agreed to meeting up after school at the park. After getting everyone's confirmation that they would make it, Davis logged off and laid back down on his bed.

(Two Days Later; In The Digital World)

Armadillomon was running as fast as he could through a forest with Hawkmon and Patamon flying alongside him while navigating through the terrain. Moments later, a spinning scythe covered in flames came flying in at them. They barely had time to dodge the attack as the flaming scythe plunged into a large tree that was in their running vicinity. The base of the tree exploded, causing the tree to collapse and block their path.

"He's closing in on us!" Patamon yelled.

"You think!?" Armadillomon retorted before he jumped and climbed over the fallen tree and continued his run with Patamon and Hawkmon moving and keeping up with him. Veemon rushed in from behind and grabbed his flaming scythe before continue his chase and pursue of the other Digimons.

"You guys can't run forever!" Veemon taunted as she continued his pursuit of his teammates. Soon the three Digimons on the run came across a wide-open field. They continued running until they reach the end of the cliff, that had a steep drop with the open sea at the bottom of the cliff.

"Crap!" Armadillomon shouted, "It's a dead end!"

"End of the line!" Veemon taunted as he reached the area, "I have you guys trapped!"

"You're brutal trainer Veemon!" Patamon complained, "We barely managed to evade that flaming scythe that time when you threw it at us!"

"Relax! The Digimon Emperor will lighten up and go easy on us next time when he's trying to kill us," Veemon remarked in sarcasm.

"It's four of us against you," Armadillomon remarked, "It's an unfair match since you're stronger and faster than all of us combined."

"And on that note…," Veemon replied before he grew Cyberdramon's wings from out of his back and flew forward at the four Digimon with Cyberdramon's speed and with his flaming scythe in hand. As Veemon closed in on the trio…

"Lightning Paw!" Gatomon cried out loudly as she erupted from out of the ground she was hiding under and fiercely collided her gloved clenched right paw into the bottom of Veemon's jaw. The surprise attack completely caught Veemon off guard as he dropped his scythe and flew high into the air.

"Boom Bubble!" Patamon yelled out as he fired his compressed air bomb attack at the ambushed dragon Digimon. The attack struck Veemon directly in the guts, sending him flying backwards away from the team. Veemon crashed hard into a nearby tree and fell to the ground disoriented. Armadillomon and Hawkmon wasted no time and hurried to capture and detain Veemon and claim victory over him. That was until Veemon summoned IceDevimon's power and strength and…

"Arctic Blast!" Veemon yelled out as he blew a powerful blast of wind from out of his mouth and into Hawkmon's and Armadillomon's direction. The duo was knocked off their feet and away from each other while feeling the freezing wind attack making it difficult for them to move, run and breathe after gradually getting back off the ground. Veemon quickly got back up and summoning Bakemon's powers, he thrusted and elongated his right arm straight into Patamon's direction and punched that flying Digimon hard to the ground.

"My ears are frozen," Patamon grunted in pain from the punch and temperature from Veemon's Arctic Blast attack.

"When I'm through," Veemon taunted, "Freezing temperatures will be the least of your worries!"

Gatomon ran and hurried to catch Patamon when Veemon suddenly flew and appeared in front of her.

"Where do you think you're going my sweet Tigress?" Veemon teased while showing his sharp fangs. Gatomon began throwing a series of punches at Veemon, all of which he either evaded or blocked. He then reached out with his right hand and grabbed both of her paws before holding them tightly up in the air. After that, he moved in and gave her and light bite on her neck.

"For a cat," Veemon remarked, "You're one pure sweet tasting pussy I enjoy sinking my tongue and fangs in."

"I don't think I want to interpret the meaning of your perverted flirting words to Gatomon," Hawkmon said as he, Armadillomon and Patamon approached the pair.

"You ought to hear Davis and his sister Jun sometimes," Veemon replied, "The dirty and perverted jokes they sometimes say would make a sailor blush. Sometimes they would crack perverted jokes on each other."

"You ought to see Yolei's diary and the secret fantasies she wrote about Davis in the past," Hawkmon remarked, "I know she's an adept student ranking below Davis' level of intelligence but I had no idea she had a colorful vocabulary."

"Kari is no different," Gatomon said adding her two cents into the conversation, "Once, she tricked Davis into playing a mature version of the game "Jenga" in order to find out some embarrassing secrets from him. The problem with her plan however was that it was a double edge sword."

"Meaning what exactly?" Patamon asked.

"Meaning she had to share embarrassing and personal secrets of her own with Davis also," Gatomon clarified.

"TK has been keeping tabs on Matt ever since he found out Matt started dating Jun," Patamon spoke up, "From what Gabumon told me, Matt once had a crush on Sora, but moved on to Jun after Tai and Sora became an official couple."

"Tai almost lost his chance with Sora had Davis not talk Tai into growing a pair of balls in going after her during that time we found the Digi-egg of Courage in that cave," Veemon commented.

"Seriously Veemon," Hawkmon remarked, "Your choice of vocabulary couldn't be any cruder."

"Whatever," Veemon shrugged before looking at Gatomon and Patamon, "You, TK, Kari and my Tigress were there for that event when Davis prep talked Tai in the cave that time."

"I can't say that Cody has done anything on the level of your human partners," Armadillomon said, "He mostly spends time with his mother and grandfather and practices kendo with his grandfather. He's started looking at Davis as a new role model besides his grandfather. He doesn't say much about his late father though. Even now it's hard for him to talk about his father being killed in the line of duty."

"I died before," Patamon said.

"There's a difference," Veemon replied, "Humans don't come back as digi-eggs. Unless a miracle of great power were to happen, no human can be resurrected."

"Speaking of miracles," Gatomon said, "Veemon, during the ancient era of the DigiWorld when you were Magnamon and the leader of the Royal Knights, what was it like during those times? I never got around to asking you about it after you told me how Gennai unlocked some secrets behind that old scroll you and I found."

"Hey you guys!" Agumon greeted as he, Biyomon, Gomamon Tentomon and Palmon were making their appearance, "It looks like we missed the fun you all were having training with Veemon."

"You should join us some times," Armadillomon suggested, "It would be interesting to see how a T-Rex stand his grounds against a legendary pure dragon."

"Actually," Agumon revealed, "I sparred with Veemon the other day. Tai came to see how strong Veemon was as a Rookie. I still have the bruises to show for them after Veemon thoroughly throttled me."

"Davis and I learned a lot about my past and the seven demon lord Digimons," Veemon started off, "Since Davis will explain everything to the others I suppose I can tell you guys about it."

(Back In The Real World; Later That Afternoon)

Everyone was assembling at the spot they usually meet at whenever Davis had something very important to explain and discuss with them. Davis waiting until everyone was assembled and as usual Mimi was present via video chat through Izzy laptop. After everyone was accounted for, Davis started the meeting and began explaining everything in details about Veemon's origins, how the Royal Knights and their army came about and the rise of the seven demon lord Digimons and their empire. It was an in-depth explanation as Davis held nothing back. What shocked and surprised the older group was that Omnimon was one of those Royal Knights under the leadership of Veemon's triplet brother.

"So Omnimon wasn't new," Tai stated, "He existed before."

"No," Davis corrected, "That Omnimon of that ancient time was the original, no offence to you or Matt."

"None taken," Matt assured.

"Prodigious!" Izzy realizing, "So DNA digivolving was also done during the ancient times!"

"And Omnimon was the first to achieve it," Tai figured.

"No Tai," Davis disagreed, "He wasn't. There's no written recording in Gennai's finding that stated that Omnimon was the first to achieve DNA digivolution. How and when War Greymon and Metal Garurumon of that time period succeeded in becoming Omnimon is unknown."

"So much for that idea then," Tai replied as Matt simply shrugged.

"It's really messed up and a shame that they were sold out and betrayed by two of their own comrades," Mimi said through the monitor screen, "Cruadermon and Dynasmon, was it?"

"That's right," Davis confirmed, "After my partner Magnamon battled and finished them via assimilation, he and his remaining Royal Knights battled the seven demon lords Digimons. As Magnamon X, my partner only had just enough power to seal them away but not enough to destroy them once and for all," then with a grave tone, Davis stated, "The Digital World and all of its inhabitants were saved, but no blessing is without sacrifice."

"What do you mean by no blessing is without sacrifice?" Kari asked.

"It's an indisputable truth Kari that both life and history in both the Real World and Digital World have proven," Davis replied, "When the war against the demon lord Digimons was finally over, Veemon was the only surviving Royal Knight, having lost his triplet brothers, fellow loyal Knights and many comrades. The war against the demon lord Digimons and stopping their reign of terror and darkness over the Digital World had cost Veemon everything. I personally learned that lesson battling Millenniummon, twice. The first time cost me and Veemon our comrades who sacrificed themselves to help Magnamon and I stopped Millenniummon and the second time cost me my human partner and best friend. Life is a hard teacher."

"Both you and Veemon experienced things at very young ages that most full-grown adults haven't in their entire lives," Joe remarked.

'You have no idea how ironic your statement is Joe,' Davis privately thought and replied, "Be that as it may, but that for what it's worth, it made me grow and mature much faster than any normal kid my age."

'You have your PTSD from those experiences to thank for that from what Joe said,' TK thought to himself.

"Did Gennai found out where those seven wicked Digimon were sealed away?" Izzy inquired.

"No," Davis answered, "The scroll gave no coordinates to its location or exactly how Veemon as Magnamon X sealed them away. Even now, no one knows where their prison is and Veemon himself doesn't remember. But I have a hunch about why those two Devidramon that Veemon took out were trying to find out where their prison is. Veemon informed me how Gatomon told him how Myotismon once tried to locate their prison in order to free them, but thankfully he was never able to find it. Clearly, Magnamon X went through great pains to make sure not only the seven evil Digimons were sealed away, but also that their prison was never found. If losing his memories of that exact location was part of the plan, it surely worked."

"This is some heavy stuff to take in," Sora commented, "I wish there was some way we older ones could help you guys."

"I'm working that actually," Davis revealed, "It's been one of my projects."

"One of your projects?" Tai asked, "OK, boy genius, what have you been up to? You're not planning a trial by fire test to use against us older Digidestineds, are you?"

"Now that's an idea," Davis remarked, "But no. I won't be doing that."

"Then what exacting are you planning for us "older" Digidestineds?" Tai asked.

"It's only a theory," Davis said, "But I may be able to re-create all eight of your crests."

"What!?" all of the "older" Digidestined exclaimed.

"How could that even be possible?" Mimi asked.

"Our original crests were used to save the Digital World after the battle with Apocalomon," TK said.

"Since then our Digimon lost a great deal of their powers," Kari added, "And aren't able to digivolve to Ultimate anymore."

"In Agumon's and Gabumon's case, warp digivolve," Tai said.

"I'm aware of the story and about what happened," Davis said, and then pointed to the golden crest and necklace hanging around his neck, "But my Crest of Miracles was what created your eight crests in the first place. There may be a way for me to use my crest to re-create all of yours and give you all back the powers your Digimons sacrificed. I just have to find a way to pull off that miracle."

"That would be great!" Tai agreed, "Having the ability to have our Digimon go Ultimate and Mega once again."

"But doesn't that mean that will step down as leader after I find a way to re-create everyone's crests," Davis stated, "I'll still be in charge."

"Up till now," Tai admitted, "You've proven to be a better and smarter leader than I was at your age. Plus, you work the hardest out of all of us, not to say that the rest of us don't work hard also, but we don't have your caliber."

"Still," Davis reminded, "It's only a theory until I can find a way to make it happen. As of now, my crest still isn't at full power to pull off such a miracle as it only has half its power. The other half remains dormant with my lost golden Digi-egg of Miracles which I have yet to find and reclaim. Even now I'm still searching for it as my primary project. When I find and have my golden digi-egg back in my possession, I'll be able to restore the full power of my crest with it and possibility come up with a way to re-create all eight of your crests through my crest."

"Prodigious!" Izzy marveled at the idea, "I can actually see something like that happening! It's an ingenious idea and it makes complete sense!"

"Not to mention that it would give us back our edge and be of more use in helping you guys battle against dark Digimons and the Digimon Emperor," Matt said.

"And a lot more would get done faster with additional firepower to boot," TK added in, "It would be great to see Patamon become MagnaAngemon again."

"Not to mention Lilymon," Mimi chimed in.

"Hey Memes," Davis said as he turned to Mimi on the laptop screen, "I've been meaning to ask you something."

"Memes?" Kari repeated as she and the others looked at Davis quizzically after hearing how he addressed Mimi.

"Memes?" Mimi repeated as she looked back at Davis oddly, "My name is Mimi, Davis."

"I know," Davis replied, "But your current hairstyle and fashion statement gives me the impression that you're a living breathing pop culture phenomenon aimed to influence younger generations through imitation."

"Wow!" Mimi giggled and blushed brightly after hearing Davis' explanation, "Thank you! You just earned huge pluses in my book Davis! No boy has ever complimented me like that before!"

"You don't say…," Kari remarked with a clear tone of jealousy, 'Davis never gave me a nickname, yet he gave one to Mimi and he hasn't even met her in person yet!'

"So what did you want to ask me?" Mimi asked,

"Have you met other Digidestineds in New York?" Davis asked, which now caught everyone's attention.

"Funny you should ask," Mimi replied, "There are Digidestineds here in New York and some are in my school also."

"There are other Digidestineds besides us?" Yolei spoke with in surprise after a long period of silence during the meeting.

"There are Digidestineds all around the world Yolei," Davis said, "We're not the only ones. All of those other Digidestineds have an assigned sector or continent of the Digital World to protect."

"Where were they during your battle against Millenniummon?" Cody now spoke up breaking his long silence.

"During my early years as a Digidestined," Davis explained, "Access to the Digital World was heavily restricted and only Tai, his team and myself separately at the time were Digidestineds with access to the DigiWorld. But after the reign of the Dark Masters, with the Digital World being seen by millions all around the world, many children all over the world became Digidestineds like ourselves. But after Millenniummon rose to power, access to the Digital World was cut off and I was stuck in the Digital World with Veemon and the army I led until Millenniummon's first defeat. Until then, I had no way of returning to the Real World."

"You never mentioned that you were stuck in the Digital World during the time you, Veemon and your army was battle Millenniummon and his empire," Tai pointed out.

"An oversight on my part," Davis admitted.

"How long were you stuck in the Digital World warring against Millenniummon and his empire?" Kari asked.

"By the DigiWorld's time table," Davis revealed, "I was stuck for a year."

"A YEAR!?" Everyone shouted in shock and disbelief.

"You spent a whole year alone with Veemon and other Digimons waging war against Millenniummon and his empire?" Tai asked as he and the others couldn't believe what they heard.

"You thought that war lasted only a few days?" Davis asked, "Millenniummon literally split the Digital World in two and had his high-ranked generals of Ultimate dark Digimons control sectors of it. With the condition the Digital World was in, it made traveling and battling those Digimons harder and I wasn't able return back until Veemon and I restored the Digital World and defeat Millenniummon and collapsed his regime. The Dark Masters had nothing on Millenniummon."

"That's crazy!" Mimi remarked, "You spent a whole year alone in the Digital World fighting a war that wasn't your own?"

"That fact that you didn't lose your mind is nothing short of a miracle considering that you're the golden Child of Miracles," TK remarked.

"That wasn't very funny TK," Kari retorted.

"It wasn't aimed as a joke Kari," TK clarified, "The horrors I'm sure Davis has seen and experienced would have driven most eight-year-olds insane."

"He's right about that Kari," Davis agreed, "For most eight-year-olds, spending a whole year alone without almost any human contact would have heavily traumatized and broke their minds. Thankfully Gennai was there from time to time to provide me with whatever assistance he was able to provide me with. But for the most part, I was on my own. Victory or never go home, those were my only options."

"And after such heavy experience like that on your own," Tai stated, "You returned to school like nothing happened and you already knew us older kids were Digidestineds and said nothing to us about what happened to you in the Digital World!"

"Don't be a hypocrite Tai," Davis chastised, "Don't play double standards with me about why I kept silent about my own adventures."

"You knew that our Digimon partners were ambushed and captured by clones of Devimon, Etemon, and Myotismon working with Milleniummon and you kept that vital information to yourself!" Tai argued.

"I'll remind you that you, Sora, and the others told me nothing about your experiences in the Digital World," Davis pointed out, "Kari wanted to tell me about her adventures in the DigiWorld. She almost did, but you and Sora strictly forbade her from telling me anything and Kari reluctantly complied. Despite my long-time friendship with you three, both you and Sora didn't trust me, so I had no reasons to trust you both either!"

Tai and Sora both visibly flinched on hearing that. Tai wanted to give Davis a retort, but he wasn't able to think of anything to counter his logic and reasoning. They both now regretted their past actions in not telling Davis anything and not allowing Kari to tell Davis anything either.

"I'm sorry," Tai sincerely apologized with feelings of guilt, "Sora and I did what we thought was right at the time, but we were wrong. Things would have turned out a lot different if we had actually trusted you as our friend. You wouldn't have had to carry your burden on your own if we had trusted you first."

"I'm sorry also Davis," Sora apologized with regrets, "We weren't being real friends with you and assumed that there was no way for you to relate or understand what we went through in the Digital World."

"Well," Davis replied, "We can't change what happened, but all can be forgiven and-"

Davis' mobile phone went off thus interrupting his speech. Pulling his phone out, Davis saw that it was a call from Jun. Sighing, Davis mumbled, "What does she want now?"

Davis answered his phone and briefly spoke into it, "Yes Jun, what it is?…I'm at the park with Kari and the others discus-…What?…Can't you call Matt and asked him to-…Fine, I'll be there shortly…Yes, I'll see you soon. Bye," Davis hung his phone and remarked, "Sisters! I swear!"

"I know and understand your pain Davis," Tai joked, earning a glare from an annoyed Kari.

"I have to go now," Davis said, "Sorry it's suddenly on short notice, but Jun is complaining that she needs my help with something," Davis went and got backpack on, "I'll see you guys tomorrow," Turning to Kari, Davis said, "Call me!"

Kari grinned and asked flirtingly, "After dark as usual?"

"After dark is our happy hour Kari," Davis replied with a toothy smile.

"Hey knock it off you two!" Tai interjected as Sora laughed at how Davis' and Kari's manner of flrting with each other served to annoy Tai.

"Whatever," Davis waved at the gang and said, "Until tomorrow."

And with that Davis left and started on his way home, leaving everyone else behind in the park.

"I think it'll be best if I head home also," Cody said, "I'm supposed to meet up with my grandpa for kendo practice."

"And I want to hurry home to catch that new episode of "Blooming Hearts"," Yolei said, "Chizuru told me that it's going to have a surprising guest star on it! I have to see who's going to be shown in that episode."

"You watch "Blooming Hearts" too?" Mimi asked with a surprised and excited tone, "That's one of my favorite shows! Me and my mom watch that show all the time!"

"Girl, we need to have our girl time and talk! My big sister Chizuru is going to be spending the night with her best friend Jun and with their three other girlfriends watching that new episode at Jun's place," Yolei replied, as the others looked on at the scene and sighed.

'Those two and their soap operas,' Kari thought and then realized something.

"Yolei!" Kari asked, "Did you say that your sister will be spending the night at Jun's place?"

"Yeah, what about it?" Yolei asked.

"By Jun you mean Davis' older sister?" Kari asked.

"Yeah and?" that was when Yolei realized where Kari was getting at, "Uh oh!"

"What is it?" Cody asked.

"It's an all-girls slumber party," Yolei said, "At Davis' place and Chizuru told me that Jun's folks are out of town on a business trip."

"And his older sister just so happened to call him to return home to help her with whatever it is she needs from him supposedly for her slumber party," Joe added.

Turning towards Yolei, Tai commented, "So boy genius Davis will be home alone with his big sister, with your big sister and with three of their girlfriends.".

"Sounds like a fun night to me," TK joked, resulting in Tai and Matt laughing at the thought before Sora, Mimi, Yolei and Kari shot them dirty looks since TK's joke had a perverted undertone.

(Later That Night)

Davis was more than annoyed. He had five teenage high school girls, his sister being one of them, in their apartment watching their soap operas and being loud. Jun's idea of his needed help was for him to prepare all of the treats for her slumber party. He flat out wanted to decline but Jun practically begged him since he was so good at food and preparing snacks like a prodigy and that all of her friends wanted to see if what she saw about his culinary skills was true. Not wanting his sister to be looked at as a liar, Davis consented, though a bit reluctantly and made all of the food for her and her four other friends.

Throughout the night though, Davis stayed in his room and kept to himself. But he took notice that later the girls calmed their voices down as they started having their girl talk together.

(Two Nights Later)

Jun was in her room brushing her hair when her phone chimed a bell tone, signaling that she received a message. She placed her brush down and looked to see that it was a message that came from Davis:

'I have something to show you. Come see me.'

"He could have just come into my room and tell me," Jun remarked as she left her room and went into Davis' room. She entered and found Davis in his room waiting for her with his mobile phone in his hand.

"What did you want to show me?" Jun asked, "I was in the middle of brushing my hair."

Davis smiled and raised his hand with his mobile phone and played the video on it for Jun to watch and listen to. Within seconds, her eyes widened in shock and horror when she saw the contents of the video: It was a video recording of both her and Chizuru trying to freestyle sing and dance during their girls' night out. The video also showed their other three girlfriends watching the embarrassing scene as both Jun and Chizuru sang horribly with their dance routine being even worse. They crashed into each other a couple of times before they ultimately tripped over each other and bumped the table, resulting in them falling to the floor their drinks spilling on them. The video showed their three girlfriends laughing at them.

"After seeing how both you and Chizuru sing and dance," Davis remarked, "I don't know whether to laugh or be saddened by it."

"What the hell!?" Jun replied, "When did you hid a camera and recorded us?"

"C'mon Jun," Davis smiled, "I was just having a little fun watching you and your friends enjoy being wild and crazy. And that girl-talk you all had left me in tears laughing."

"Davis!" Jun shouted, "This is just wrong! Recording me and my friends like that!"

The video wasn't done yet as there was more to that video. It actually had thirty minutes of clear audio and visual footage of Jun and her four friends having their private girl talk and sharing secret dreams and fantasies and expectations with each other, especially about which guys they like or were dating. They were quite descriptive.

"I think I'll show this to Matt," Davis said, "I'm sure he'll love to see how you and your four girlfriends get down on girls' night out."

A frightened look of horror filled Jun's face.

"LIKE HELL!" Jun screamed before snatching the phone from Davis' hand and deleting the video recording from his phone.

"What are you doing!?" Davis shouted as she tried to get his phone back. Jun pushed him back and made sure to delete the video off his phone. Davis soon managed to get his phone back and found the video entirely deleted.

"I went through a lot of trouble recording that video!" Davis argued.

"How the hell were you even able to get a recording of us?!" Jun retorted, "You think I'd let you show Matt something as embarrassing as that!?"

"You had Chizuru record me in that store for your prank in buying you tampons," Davis shot back

"That was different," Jun retorted, "That prank made you look like a gentleman. If that was all you wanted to show me, then I'm done here."

Jun turned to leave and return to her room. After she did however, her phone chimed a bell tone again. She took it out and found a video message from Davis. When she opened it, she was horrified to see that it was the same video Davis showed her a few minutes ago.

'You didn't think I forgot to make a backup copy, did you Jun?'

After reading the message Davis sent her, Jun run out of her room and back into Davis' room.

"DELETE THAT BACKUP VIDEO! NOW!" Jun shouted.

"After that wax paper prank you pulled on me that you thought was funny," Davis reminded, "I warned you that you'll live to regret that."

"You can't show Matt that video!" Jun pleaded, "I can't bear the embarrassment!"

"Here's my condition," Davis replied, "If you and Chizuru don't pull anymore pranks on me, I won't show that video to Matt. If you play one more prank on me, try anything to get back at me, I'll show that video not only to Matt, but to Yolei as well so she can tease Chizuru about it."

"Alright!" Jun promised, "No more pranks! It's not worth the embarrassment! I would just die if Matt and his friends saw that video!"

"Please," Davis replied, "You'd live through that. I had to live through all of your pranks anyway."

"Fine!" Jun said, "I won't try to prank you again! Where did you even keep that backup?"

"Like I'd tell you," Davis replied.

"You're not going to show Matt that video, are you?" Jun asked worriedly.

"If you don't prank me again," Davis promised, "I won't show anyone that video. Deal?"

Jun sighed in defeat, "…Deal."

"And just so you know," Davis added, "Even if I do decide delete my backup video, unfortunate for you and your girlfriends, it doesn't change the fact that I now know sensitive personal secrets about all five of you as my insurance."

"Davis that's just wrong!" Jun paled and replied, "I can't believe you're blackmailing me like this, and by extension my friends also!"

"I love you too my dear beloved sister," Davis replied before he went and affectionately kissed Jun's right cheek.

(Two Weeks Later)

Davis was in the computer room at school with DemiVeemon sitting on one of the seats. His violin case was resting next to the seat Veemon was at. As he was doing this, the door slid open to reveal Kari and the rest of the team entering the room.

"Hey Davis!" Kari greeted, "Where are you going in such a hurry?"

"To a memorial site," Davis said as he continued typing.

"A memorial site?" Kari asked.

"The location where I first witnessed Millenniummon's defeat by Magnamon's hand after our army of Digimon allies gave their powers to Magnamon to stop Millenniummon at the cost of their lives."

"Didn't you say that Magnamon first battled and defeated Millenniummon in space in the DigiWorld?" TK asked.

"I did," Davis confirmed, "And I remember saying how I stayed in constant radio contact with Magnamon from the surface while he and the others did battle in space."

"What do you plan to do while at this memorial site?" Cody asked.

"I'm going to play my violin there in memory of Cyberdramon and all of those heroic Digimon who gave their lives to help bring about Millenniummon's downfall," Davis said, "It's my way of honoring and commemorating their brave and willing self-sacrifice as their leader."

"We never got to see where this historic memorial site is," Yolei stated, "I'm more than sure that it holds a lot of memories for you."

"Much of it sad and tragic as a number of those Digimon were also permanently deleted by Millenniummon," Davis said, "A lot of Digimon I led into battle died with no chance of ever being reborn again. I carry the weight and reminder of their irreversible deaths each and every day that goes by. Sometimes I wonder if there was another way I could have prevented that tragedy."

"Don't be so hard on yourself Davis," Kari encouraged with a concerned and caring tone, "You were only eight years old at the time and forced to shoulder a massive responsibility by yourself that the rest of us here couldn't have endured on our own and I doubt Tai would have been able to have done better."

"Knowing myself at that age," TK admitted, "I'd be too busy crying and wanting to go home than have to deal with what you experienced and that's with my brother Matt being with me."

"If it's alright with you Davis," Cody asked, "Would it be alright with you if that rest of us and our Digimon accompany you to this memorial site as you honor the memory of the fallen Digimon who gave their lives in honor of protecting their world and protecting you as their leader?"

"I would appreciate that very much actually," Davis said as he finished typed in the coordinates and set up the digi-port. Davis went and retrieved DemiVeemon and his violin case before returning to the monitor screen. He and the others then pulled out their D3s and aimed it at the computer monitor.

"Let's go!" Davis said, "Digi-port Open!"

And with a bright flash Davis and his team were taken to the Digital World.

(Meanwhile In The DigiWorld)

Mimi was walking alongside Palmon as they were talking about the idea of getting a new crest to replace the one they sacrificed a few years ago.

"I wonder is that will be possible for Davis to pull off," Mimi said.

"If he and Veemon were able to fused the two halves of the Digital World after it was literally split in half by Millenniummon," Palmon asked, "Then why would it be impossible for Davis to create eight new crests for us?"

"You bring up a good point," Mimi admitted, "But after Davis does find a way to give all of us new crests, I can't wait to show you off as Lilymon to my new friends. I know for sure they'll all be surprised at how amazing you'll look!"

Palmon smiled and was about to say something when Mimi stopped talking.

"What's the matter Mimi?" Palmon asked.

"Do you hear that?" Mimi asked before Palmon heard some voices from a distance. A moment through the woods.

"I do hear something now," Palmon confirmed, "It sounds like…Kari, Gatomon and the others!"

"Really it's them?" Mimi asked excitedly, "C'mon let's go meet them!"

The 15-year-old girl and her plant Digimon hurried to the source of the voices. Upon their arrival, they found not only Kari and Gatomon, but also TK, Yolei and Cody along with their Digimon

"HEY YOU GUYS!" Mimi shouted happily as she waved to the team. Kari and everyone stopped when they saw the pinked haired 15-year-old with a white mini-skirt, white platform boots, and blue t-shirt with a color star in the center of the shirt.

"Is that?" Kari asked happily.

"Yes Kari!" TK confirmed, "It's Mimi!"

Mimi and Palmon hurriedly made their way to where the others were. Upon her arrival there, both her and Kari greeted each other in an affectionate embrace.

"Kari! It's such a long time!" Mimi said joyfully before she pulled away to take a good look at the younger girl, "Look at you! You've grown since I've least seen you."

"I haven't changed much really," Kari replied meekly, "I great to see you again!"

"Likewise you too," Mimi then turned to TK and greeted, "TK! I'm happy to see you too. You've gotten taller since I've last seen you."

"It's great to see you too Mimi!" TK replied happily before Mimi smiled and turned to Yolei and Cody.

"You two are the new Digidestineds," Mimi said as she recalled their names, "Cody and Yolei!"

"It's a pleasure to meet you," Cody greeted.

"I love your choice of fashion!" Yolei complimented, "Davis was right when he said that you're a living pop culture phenomenon."

Kari frowned on being reminded of how Davis complimented and nicknamed her.

"Thanks," Mimi sang, "I always like trying new things here and there."

"Please tell us!" Yolei beseeched enthusiastically, "What's it like being and living in New York!?"

"It's very different from living in Tokyo, I'll tell you that," Davis replied, as though he could talk from personal experience, which now gained everyone's attention.

"And what would you know?" TK asked, "Have you ever been or lived to New York before?"

'In my previous life my American headquarters for my multibillion-dollar noodle and restaurant franchise was in New York,' Davis privately thought and then replied, "I've done my research, thoroughly. The taxis, subways and bus systems in New York runs 24-hours unlike anywhere else in the world. But I also know that there's far more to New York state than tall buildings, One World Trade Center and Brooklyn Heights and everything else they show on TV and on the internet. New York also has beautiful mountains, rivers, lots of farmland and huge fields of apple trees, thus its famous nickname, "The Big Apple"."

"You're Daisuke Motomiya who everyone refers to as Davis!" Mimi greeted, "So you're Japan's famous boy genius I heard so much about."

"A pleasure to finally meet you too in person "Memes"," Davis replied, "Palmon told Veemon and I much about you too. Perhaps the sound of my violin will be to your liking too. Would you like to accompany us to where I'm leading everyone to?"

"And where are you all making your way to?" Mimi asked.

"To the memorial site where Millenniummon was first defeat," Davis said, "I'm going to play my violin at that location."

"I heard from Izzy that you play the violin," Mimi said, "It would be nice to actually listen to you play one of your symphonies."

"You can tell us all about New York too while we make our way to this memorial site," Yolei suggested, "I'd love to hear all about it from their foods, fashions, entertainment, the famous celebrities that live there…"

'Even in this life, Yolei is a huge Mimi fangirl,' Davis thought, 'Some things surprisingly remained the same.'

After Mimi and Palmon joined the group, they started on their trek to the location Davis and Veemon were leading them on. All the while, Yolei was listening to everything Mimi was relating to everyone about life in New York and the differences between New York and Japan. Soon though, Kari got Davis' attention with a matter she wanted to address with him.

"Giving other girls nicknames are we Davis?" Kari snorted.

"It's completely innocent Kari," Davis replied, knowing Kari was acting on jealousy.

"Really Davis?" Kari questioned, "We knew each other all these years and never once have you ever affectionately given me a nickname! Yet you came up with a affectionate meaningful nickname for Mimi on a fly!" Kari pointed out, "Even our Digimon partners gave each other affectionate nicknames!"

'I never thought something as innocent as a pet name would make Kari this bothered,' Davis apologized, "I'm sorry I didn't give time to carefully consider that. But tell me, in all the years we've known each other, have you ever once given me an affectionate nickname of your own?"

Kari was about to reply, but then thought for a moment. She tried to think of a time if she really did ever give Davis nickname to address him as. When she realized she herself never gave Davis such a nickname…

"No, you haven't Kari," Davis answered for her, "So isn't it hypocritical and a double standard being upset with me over something that you yourself didn't do either?"

Kari sighed, it was hard to stay upset and annoyed with Davis after listening to his sensible reasoning and logic.

"You got me on that one," Kari said, "I don't have anything to counter you on."

"I'll have to think of a personal nickname to refer to you by," Davis assured, "Something that would fit your character and personality."

"I'll try to think one for you too, when one comes to mind," Kari replied.

"I've been meaning to ask you Davis," Mimi spoke up, "Why do you want us to travel to where you and Veemon defeated Millenniummon? And what about that place makes it a memorial?"

"Both are very good questions Memes," Davis said, "It's where hundreds of Champion and Ultimate Digimons under my leadership willingly gave their lives and powers in sacrifice to help stop that monster that nearly destroyed the entire Digital World."

"You were a very young commander and leader of an entire army powerful Digimon," Mimi commented, "It was a heavy load and responsibility that was placed on your shoulders at such a young age."

"But shoulder it I did," Davis stated, "As their leader, I periodically honor and commemorate their heroic sacrifice. I always make sure that their names and memories are never forgotten."

"Personally," Mimi complimented, "You behave and speak very mature for your age from what I've seen of you."

"Months earlier Joe thoroughly diagnosed Davis' condition as PTSD," TK thought out loud under his breath. But unfortunately for TK…

"Post-traumatic stress disorder," Davis clarified with an emotionless tone as he stopped walking and turned to face TK, "Was there anything else Dr. Joe Kido said about my mental state that you like to share with me now TK? I'm all ears!"

TK cursed himself for his blunder as everyone in the group now stopped walking after seeing the incident that now occurred among them.

"The original team and I weren't saying anything bad about you after we first learned of your war with Millenniummon," TK said a nervous and panicked tone, "Only how your battle-hardened experiences in the Digital World forced you to mature faster than any normal person we know."

"The original team and you?" Davis asked before he turned to Kari and Mimi, "Is there anything you both want to share with me now? Were you both also part of this secret meeting about me months earlier that I wasn't aware of?"

TK immediately realized his mistake, but it was too late as the damage was done.

"Davis," Kari pleaded, "It was the same day when we first found out about the Digimon Emperor and everything you went through in the Digital World alone without any of us knowing about it. It was a shock to every one of us. And yes, Joe did explain some things about your experiences that had gotten me mad too until he clarified things for us to understand his words better."

"Really?" Davis cynically with a touch of sarcasm, "Well, I suppose Dr. Kido knows better than any of us about my mental state and that I'm the only Digidestined out of every one of us who has post-traumatic stress disorder. And with a psychopathic Digidestined trying to kill me and Veemon each time we travel here to the DigiWorld, I'm sure Dr. Kido will thoroughly assess and conclude that my PTSD will only worsen with time."

Davis turned and walked off from everyone.

"Davis wait!" Kari called out apologetically.

"Leave him alone Kari," Veemon advised, "Right now, he needs time to calm down and clear his mind. At the moment, you and the others are the last ones either of us wants to see now."

Gatomon and the other Digimon weren't aware of this meeting about Davis since they were all in the DigiWorld when that meeting took place. Veemon walked off to follow and catch up with Davis.

TK apologized, "Guys, I'm sorry I-"

TK didn't get to finish when a tearful Kari turned and slapped him hard across the face. TK held his now reddened left side of his face after feeling Kari's hand strike that part of his face.

"You can never keep your mouth shut TK!" Kari retorted tearfully, "You always have a snide comment about Davis and you repeatedly questioned his role as leader. And because of you, my boyfriend is now mad at me and the rest of us for talking about him without his knowing of it and coming to our own conclusions about his personality!"

"I thought out loud by accident," TK replied in his defense while still feeling the pain from Kari's slap, "It wasn't like I did that on purpose."

"Regardless," Mimi chided with disapproval, "You made me, Kari and the rest of us older Digidestineds look like jerks who like to talk behind Davis' back."

"I'm really sorry," TK apologized "I didn't mean for any of this to happen."

"You'll have to apologize to Davis after he's given time to cool off," Patamon recommended.

"…All of us will have to," Kari sobbed as she wiped her tearful eyes, "…Except Yolei and Cody since they and our Digimon have nothing to do with this…"

"Well," Cody remarked, "This day has turned awkward."

"Hopefully Davis won't be too angry to listen to us," Armadillomon commented, "But maybe we should give him time to cool off as Veemon suggested."

"What if he runs into trouble and danger?" Mimi asked.

"Davis and Veemon both faced and lived through worse," Armadillomon added.

"But they still have the Digimon Emperor to deal with who's trying to kill them!" Yolei reminded, "The last thing we need is for both of them to be ambushed. The last encounter with the Digimon Emperor was dangerously too close, even for Davis' standards."

While this conversation was going on, a control ring was floating and watching the scene as it was broadcasting it back to Ken at his floating base.

(At Ken's Base)

Ken was listening and watching the scene from his monitor screens.

"So, Davis went off on his own after his team gone and pissed him off," Ken remarked as he watched the scene, "I wonder where the maroon haired moving target wandered off to."

"I would like to find a nice quiet place to relax and calm down if I were in a bad mood," Wormmon commented. Ken was about to kick Wormmon until he took a moment to think about his partner's words.

"For once Wormmon your words have given me thoughts to wonder about," Ken said as she started thinking about things, "Where would I go if I wanted to cool down after a bad day."

"There's the soccer field, the chess club, a date with Yolei," Wormmon suggested, only to have Ken hit him with his whip.

"Quiet Wormmon!" Ken harshly ordered, "I wasn't asking for your input with regards to myself. But I think I may have an idea of where Davis and Veemon would want to go."

Ken typed in some commands on the keypad on his floating chair. A moment later, his monitor flashed on the screen to show him several Digimon.

"One Musyamon and seven Meramon," Ken said, "A team of Musyamon and Meramon will do."

The seven Meramon were under the influence of control rings whereas Musyamon was acting on his own free will working with the Digimon Emperor in return for a chance to battle Veemon and use his cherished sword to absorb Veemon's life.

"Musyamon," Ken said, "I have a task for all of you: Lead the Meramons to find and exterminate Davis and his partner Veemon."

"Finally," Musyamon said, "An opportunity to slay and absorb the legendary dragon's life with my beloved blade!"

"Yes, whatever," Ken replied, "Just make sure you killed both Davis and Veemon, by any means necessary."

The Musyamon and group of Meramon hurried from their assigned sector to go in search of Davis and Veemon.

(Meanwhile)

Davis sitting high in one of the trees in the meadows. With Veemon's help, he was sitting on one of the high branches that gave him a good overview of is surroundings.

"We both know you don't have PTSD Davis," Veemon remarked.

"I know," Davis replied calmly, "I'm just bothered that everyone else except Cody and Yolei would believe that about that me just because Joe says so from his professed 'medical expertise'."

"Davis," Veemon reminded, "Our intelligence and level of maturity is far higher than theirs. Still that didn't give them liberties to make those types of comments about you behind your back. TK is especially sorry, especially after Kari slapped and scolded him in front of everyone."

Davis turned to Veemon and asked with a surprised tone, "Kari slapped TK? Even those three words coming out of my mouth in the same sentence sounds awkward. If I were my previous self, I'm not sure how I would have reacted to seeing such a scene."

"Shocked and surprised like you are now since Kari and TK were always close back then in our previous lives," Veemon stated.

"I'm sure Kari and the others are wondering where I'm at now," Davis commented, "If anything, I certain they're searching for me."

"I told them to give you some space and time to cool down for a while," Veemon said, "But I'm sure it won't be long before they find us."

"Speaking of finding," Davis remarked, "I would like to find Ken's floating base faster and get back my dormant golden digi-egg he's using to power up his base."

"It would be nice to become Magnamon again," Veemon said, "I wonder how Gatomon will think of me when she beholds my great powers as a Royal Knight Digimon."

"That'll have to wait," Davis said, "Let's return back to the group before trouble comes looking for us."

"I believe trouble already found you both," a voice said from above them, "Magma Bombs!"

Suddenly a bunch of magma rocks came raining down from the skies and down towards their directions. Davis and Veemon saw the danger coming straight for them.

"SHIT!" Davis cursed "Ken found where I'm at!"

"Veemon digivolve to…ExVeemon!"

ExVeemon quickly grabbed Davis and flew into the air to evade the raining magma rock crashing to the surrounding trees and grassland, which led to explosions and the surrounding region to be set ablaze. Suddenly Musyamon came dashing and swung his sword at ExVeemon, forcing the Champion dragon Digimon and duck and dodge the sword attack that was aimed at his throat.

"Davis and ExVeemon," Musyamon challenged, "It's with great pleasure that I've been commissioned to end your life in the name of the Digimon Emperor! The burning forest is appropriate for such an event as both of your legacies will go up in flames and your burnt ashes scattered into the wind!"

The seven Meramon charged all at once against ExVeemon as they had no intentions of letting them escape the burning forest alive.

(Meanwhile)

Mimi, Kari and the rest of the team were soon heard loud explosions with ground shaking vibrations and lots of heavy smoke ascending high into the skies.

"That can't be good!" Cody remarked.

"You think!?" Yolei replied.

"Davis and Veemon are in trouble!" Kari deduced, "The Digimon Emperor must had sent forces to attack Davis and Veemon!"

"The forest is also on fire and the fire is spreading!" Palmon pointed out.

"We have to get to Davis and fast!" Mimi said with urgency.

"Let's go then!" Kari declared, "Davis needs us!"

All of the DigiDestined pulled out their D3s and Mimi pulled out her digivice.

"Digi-Armor Energize!" Kari, TK, Yolei and Cody shouted all at once.

"Gatomon armor digivolve to…Nefertimon, the Angel of Light!"

"Patamon armor digivolve to…Pegasusmon, Flying Hope!"

"Hawkmon armor digivolve to…Halsemon, the Wings of Love!"

"Armadillomon armor digivolve to…Digmon, the Drills of Knowledge!"

Palmon digivolve to…Togemon!

"Mimi!" TK realized, "Palmon was able to digivolve! But how!?"

"It could be that there's no control spire in this region yet," Cody deduced.

"That gives us one advantage," Yolei said.

"C'mon!" Kari said urgently, "We have to get to Davis now!"

The six of them and their Digimon hurried to where the chaos was happening. As they were making their way over there…

"Avalanche Barrage!" everyone heard ExVeemon shout as he fired large ice boulders materializing and being hurling into all of the Meramons' directions. The fire Digimons used their flame engulfed fists to punch away the large boulders but they were coming at them too fast and three of them were struck down by the incoming ice boulders. The large rock-hard balls of ice came crashing down to the burning forest around them.

ExVeemon then took in a huge gust of breath. With enough breath in his body, ExVeemon fired his next attack.

"Arctic Blast!" ExVeemon yelled out as he blew a powerful blast of wind from out of his mouth and Meramons' direction. The Meramons were knocked off their feet and away from each other while feeling the freezing wind attack making it difficult for them to move, run and breathe as snow began covering the once burning ground and trees.

"Take them out!" Davis instructed. ExVeemon wasted no time and racing to where the seven Meramons were. While they were weakened and disoriented, ExVeemon quickly knocked them unconscious and destroying the control rings around them, freeing them from the Digimon Emperor's control. Musyamon was the only opponent left.

"You're clearly not under any influence of a control ring!" ExVeemon said to Musyamon, "Meaning you're acting on your own free will to kill me and Davis!"

"Obviously!" Musyamon said as he readied his sword

"Finish him!" Davis instructed, "Don't show him any mercy."

"You think I'll be defeated that easily boy?" Musyamon challenged confidently, "I waited for this opportunity to-"

"You truly have a death wish!" ExVeemon said venomously as his eyes flashed into glowing red eyes into Musyamon's, causing him to look into them, resulting in Musyamon's paralysis.

"What is this!" Musyamon panicked with he realized he was paralyzed and frozen in place. ExVeemon approached him and stood in front of him.

"Light will be the last thing you'll ever see," ExVeemon stated before he charged up and then yelled, "Vee Laser!"

ExVeemon fired a powerful beam of energy from his chest and directly into Musyamon, engulfing him and his sword entirely before the Digimon and his sword burst into data particles. ExVeemon quickly absorbed every last data particle that was once Musyamon and his sword into his body and processed it into his being. Moments later, Musyamon was completely assimilated. The battle was over.

"Wow!" Mimi marveled, "They're amazing! Davis and his Digimon took them out like they were nothing!"

"Clearly Davis and ExVeemon didn't need us after all," Cody remarked.

"So that's the power of assimilation," Togemon said, "Truly a terrifying power. I never thought I'd see it for myself."

"Davis!" Kari called out as she ran over to him. Davis turned to the group, but before he could get a word out to them, Kari reached and embraced him in a tight hug with her head buried in his left shoulder.

"I'm so sorry Daisuke!" Kari cried, "I never meant to hurt you! I'm sorry!"

"I'm sorry too Davis," Mimi apologized sincerely, "I meant no offence to you at all and I'm sure the others didn't' either."

"It was a jerk move on my part," TK said, "I'm sorry for causing all this trouble."

"All is forgiven," Davis replied, "But I'm still going to have a word Joe and the rest of the older this later."

Davis soon noticed an object hovering own them and that was when ExVeemon looked to see where Davis was staring at.

"EvVeemon!" Davis pointed with his eyes.

"On it!" ExVeemon complied at his flew fast into the air and grabbed the floating black ring. Holding onto it securely, ExVeemon flew over to Davis and held the ring in front of him. Davis noticed the difference in its design from all of the other control rings.

"Is that a control ring?" Kari asked as the rest of the group gathered around them.

"No," Davis said, "It's one of the Digimon Emperor's spy cameras. It must have been tracking and following me for some time."

"A flying spy camera?" Yolei said, "How many more of those are out there?"

"You got me," Davis said before he turned to the camera and said, "I know you're watching and listening Digimon Emperor. So listen to me very carefully…"

(At The Digimon Emperor's Flying Fortress)

Ken was sitting on his seat with a dark and livid expression on his face after seeing and hearing what Davis was now saying to him directly through his monitor screen and speakers. Wormmon could only watch and listen to the live feed from the monitor and speakers

"It doesn't matter if you continue to send out more enslaved Digimons or stronger ones!" Davis said through the monitor, "That results will continue to be the same. My team and I will defeat and free them! If you send out mercenary Digimons wanting and seeking the opportunity to kill me and Veemon, my partner and I will crush them! You're not the first tyrant I took on and you won't be the last I'll bring down! I will find you and end your reign of terror! And when I get the opportunity to pull off a miracle, your time as Digimon Emperor will end sooner than you think!"

Wormmon was expecting Ken to go on a screaming tirade with a burst of rage, but he was surprised by how eerily calm and composed Ken was. Ken placed on his microphone and retorted to Davis darkly, "We haven't reached the endgame yet Davis. You haven't gotten me in checkmate yet. This deadly game of chess between us continues. You need not worry. I still have more surprises in store for you and Veemon."

Ken pressed a few commands onto the keyboard pad attached to his floating chair as a sinister smile formed on his lips.

"That can't be good," Wormmon acknowledged.

(Back In The Forest)

The camera suddenly grew sharp spikes from out of itself, forcing ExVeemon to release it. The spikey floating ring then flew into Togemon's direction and attached itself to her left arm.

"NO!" Mimi screamed in horror as the floating camera turned control ring now enslaved Togemon to Ken's control. Her once hollowing looking eye sockets now had two red glows in them as she gave the group a dark menacing look.

"Oh No! Togemon!" Kari and TK shouted in shock at the unexpected turn of events.

"Togemon!" Ken ordered through the control ring, "Kill Davis, by any means necessary!"

"NO!" Mimi cried and pleaded, "Togemon don't listen to him!"

"As you wish it master!" Togemon said with not glowing red eyes, "So it'll happen as you command!"

"Damn you Emperor!" Davis cursed.

"I told you I had more surprises in store for you Davis," Ken taunted.

"Kiss my smooth chisel ass!" Davis retorted as he held out his right middle finger for Ken to see through the monitor. Togemon went on the offense.

"Lightspeed Jabbing," Togemon yelled as she charged and closed in at rapid speed to strike and kill Davis instantly. ExVeemon quickly blocked Togemon's attacks with his arms crossed in front of him.

"Coconut Punch," Togemon called out before she rained hits on ExVeemon like falling coconuts.

"Guys!" ExVeemon said, "You're welcomed to join and restrain her now!"

"We're on it!" Pegasusmon complied as he and Nefertimon took to the air and circled around Togemon.

"Golden Noose!" Pegasusmon and Nefertimon called out together as they energized their energetic rope to bind Togemon with. They successfully managed wrapped the golden noose around Togemon and pull her away from ExVeemon.

"Gold Rush!" Digmon shouted as he fired his rocket drills at the control ring wrapped around Togemon's left arm. Seeing the attack coming, Togemon went of the defense and assault. Mimi, realizing what attack her partner was going to use, warned everyone.

"Take cover!" Mimi warned as she ran behind one of the trees, with the Digidestined following her example.

"Needle Spray!" Togemon spanned around and shot hundreds of harden sharp thorns out in all directions. Pegasusmon and Nefertimon were spun around violently while still being connected to their golden noose that was still tightly secured around Togemon. Hundreds needles flew out and struck many objects and trees all. The rocket drills fired by Digmon were detonated after being bombarded with large swarms of needles.

The armored Digimon managed to narrowly avoid mostly of the needles though they did take some painful hits from the attack. ExVeemon used his acquired ice powers to block and deflect the attack from harming him. Unfortunately for Nefertimon and Pegasusmon, being at close range, were struck the most, resulting in them releasing their golden noose and they crashed to the ground and de-armored back to Patamon and Gatomon.

"Gatomon!" Kari cried out.

"Patamon!" TK called in worriedly as he and Kari ran to the aid of their wounded partners. Kari and TK retrieved their injured Digimons and carried them into their arms.

"I got you buddy," TK assured.

"Somehow I think that control ring gave Togemon a booth of strength," Patamon theorized, "Her strength is higher than usual for her Champion form."

"How brilliant that you correctly figure that out," Ken said through the control ring, "You see, I learn as I observe how you guys fight and as always, I look to come up with ways to make my attacks more effective."

"You monster!" Mimi shouted tearfully and angrily, "Enslaving my Digimon partner and forcing her to fight and hurt my friends like this!"

"I use whatever means I deem necessary to get the work done," Ken said through the control ring, "Besides, your friends are merely collateral damage."

"Hey Togemon!" Davis called out and waved, "Here I am! Come and get me! I'm the prime target to be killed after all!"

Togemon gave a loudly warrior outcry and charged at Davis.

"Davis! NO!" Kari yelled as she and the others watched as Davis boldly stood his grounds as the towering Digimon was coming at him.

"Are you crazy Davis!?" Mimi panicked, "Don't just stand there! Run!"

There warning cries fell on deaf ears as Davis looked back at Togemon defiantly. As Togemon prepared to crush Davis with her massive fist however, Davis right fist suddenly energized and burst into powerful flames. Quietly calling out the attack, Davis leaped high straight up into the air and delivered what many would call a flaming dragon punch straight into Togemon's face, effectively knocking her down to the ground unconscious. With the flames still engulfed around his fist, Davis fired a mighty fired fireball attack at the control ring, completely destroying it and freeing Togemon, who reverted back to Palmon. Everyone was left entirely speechless at what just happened, especially Ken and Wormmon, who were trying to make sense out of what just happened after they lost the signal to the control ring after Davis destroyed it.

"Did you see that!?" Yolei asked with shock and amazement.

"I saw it and still find it hard to believe!" Cody replied.

Davis picked up the unconscious Palmon and brought her over to Mimi who, like everyone else, was trying to process what just happened with Davis' unexpected show of fire power.

"Davis?" Kari asked in disbelief, "When were you able to do that!?"

"Do what exactly?" a voice asked from behind Kari. Everyone turned to see Davis smiling and standing behind them, shocking and startling everyone.

"D-Davis!?" Kari stuttered before and the others looked back at the other "Davis."

"There's two of them?" Mimi asked with a perplexed look on her face.

"Is that your upgraded robotic copy like before?" TK asked.

"Not quite," "Davis" said before changing back into his true form, revealing himself to be…

"Flamedramon!" the group except Davis exclaimed in surprised.

"Surprised I showed up to the party?" Flamedramon joked.

"Since when could you change shape?" Gatomon asked.

"I only recently tapped into this newly acquired ability after assimilating a group of Bakemon that attacked me almost two months ago," Flamedramon revealed, "Under Davis' guidance and training, he helped me unlocked and tap into this shapeshifting power. While everyone was distracted battling Togemon, Davis went and hid himself while I went and changed into Davis' appearance to lure Togemon away from everyone before doing what had to be done. I hope I didn't hurt her too much and Palmon doesn't take it personal."

"It's OK," Mimi assured, "I'm sure she'll feel sorrier about being forced against her will to fight you guys. It was painful just for me alone to watch."

"I did warn the team how the Digimon Emperor would use his control rings to turn to enslave and turn our Digimon against us if given the chance to," Davis said.

"I still can't believe that a fellow Digidestined hates you this much Davis that he wants to kill you so badly," Mimi said sadly with a disturbed expression.

"Don't think about it too much," Davis advised and then shrugged, "It's not the first time Flamedramon and I dealt with deranged power-mad lunatics trying to kill us and he won't be the last. Plus the Digimon Emperor is being heavily influenced by that dark spore that was shot into him by Millenniumom."

"I was told by Palmon that the Digimon Emperor was your former partner who protected you as human shield from being with that dark spore that was meant for you; which was why he become the Digimon Emperor," Mimi said, "You know identity of this possessed Digidestined trying to kill you and you won't go after him or stop him in the Real World."

"His war with me is kept solely in the Digital World and I prefer to keep it that way for yours and everyone's safety," Davis replied, "Bringing that war out into the Real World would compromise everyone's safety."

"I remember you saying that before more than a month ago after that snow mountain incident with IceDevimon after Tai wanted you to tell us who the Digimon Emperor is," Mimi replied.

"You see how the Digimon Emperor wants my partner and I dead so badly," Davis said, "Do you want both yourself and Palmon to always worry about the Digimon Emperor looking to kill you both every chance he gets just for stepping into the Digital World?"

"Yet you choose to shoulder that burden by yourself," Mimi remarked, "Even now I honestly find that difficult to accept."

"It's understandable," Davis admitted, "It's not something any young normal teen should have to live with or worry about. But then again, we're not every day common youths, now are we? My partner and I expect those dangers and deal with them. We don't allow them to make us paranoid or prevent it from allowing us to live our lives how we want to. Life is too precious to focus only on the negative aspects of it. Sure, there will be more close calls from time to time."

"I wish there weren't honestly," TK remarked, "I hate to see what the Digimon Emperor will plan next."

"Whatever it is," Davis said, "We'll face it and defeat him once again!"

(Back At Ken's Base)

Ken was replaying that last few moments of the battle when trying to figure out what on earth just happened. While analyzing the video, he saw that Togemon lost sight of Davis while battling those armored Digimon. It frustrated and baffled Ken to see Davis all of a suddenly execute a flaming fist attack and take out a Champion level Digimon.

'Did he acquire some new power that I wasn't aware of?' Ken wondered as he wasn't able to make sense out of how that battle ended before Davis destroyed his control ring.

"Davis may have secrets I didn't know about," Ken said to himself, "There's still things about him as the Child of Miracles that I myself don't know yet. How frustrating!"

(Meanwhile With The Group)

Davis and the others had long left the battle area and continued on their way to the Memorial site Davis told them about Palmon had regained consciousness twenty minutes after the battle had ended. Mimi explained what happened and needless to say Palmon felt terrible about how she was used as a weapon against her friends. They assured her that it wasn't her fault and that she was being forced to fight against them

"How much further is the memorial site?" Mimi asked.

"We'll arrive there in another ten minutes," Davis answered, "We're not too far from it."

"I didn't expect that it would take this long to get there," Mimi replied.

"Normally when it's just me and Veemon traveling to this Memorial site," Davis stated, "It gives Veemon and I time to meditate and reflect deeply on things and how I can improve on being a better leader Plus it give me time to reflect on my past failures and mistakes and what I can possibly to avoid repeating them."

"I see," Mimi said as they continued their walk. Soon, ten minutes went by and they arrived at what was clearly a very beautiful botanical gardenlike park. It was a huge size with various types of flowers, ornaments and floral decorations all around the region. Mimi's eyes sparkling at the glittery floral magnificence and elegance of the landscape's beauty.

"This place looks amazing!" Mimi exclaimed.

"I know!" Kari agreed, "I expected many things but this is beyond what I thought the place would look like."

"I wish I could make a house here!" Yolei said while admiring everything she was seeing.

"It was clearly worth the walk to come here," Cody commented smiled in appreciation at being brought to such a lovely and peaceful environment.

"I got to admit Davis," TK confessed, "I thought the location would look like a war-torn battlefield considering is was the first major war against Millenniummon."

"This area was totally wrecked actually," Davis revealed, "Everything here was completely in ruins during the war. But the survivors of that war restored this location and made a marble stone monument that have the names of all the Digimon warriors who died in battle and sacrificed themselves to help me and Magnamon stop Millenniummon inscribed on it "

The group continued on their way into the area and made their travel towards the memorial monument. Upon their arrival, the group was met with an unexpected visitor.

"LEOMON!" Mimi and Palmon screamed happily. The humanoid lion-type Digimon turned to see the teen girl and Digimon who called out to him. Before he could give a proper greeting, Mimi and Palmon hurried over to him and embraced him in a tight affectionate hug.

"Mimi, Palmon," Leomon greeted as she now recognized the pair, "It's been a long time. You've certainly grown over the years Mimi."

"Leomon, I'm so happy to see you again!" Mimi said tearfully, "I thought I'd never see you again!"

"Me too Leomon," Palmon said, "I didn't know you were reborn."

"I was reborn some time ago and I had to pleasure of working with Davis and his friends also after they freed me from the Digimon Emperor's control," Leomon said, "I came to this sight to pay my respects to the honorable Digimons who bravely gave their lives to save the entire Digital World. I heard so much about everything that happened during the time I was gone. You Digidestineds really had your hands full."

"We did," TK said, "But we managed to pull through. It great to see you again Leomon."

"The pleasure is all mine TK," Leomon said as he went and greeted the rest of the group and their Digimon partners. The group and saw all the names of the Digimons who battled and died in the war against Millenniummon and his empire. They were surprised to see that there was a lot of names ranging from Rookies to Ultimate level Digimons. Inscribed at embedded at the center of the monument was the symbol of the Crest of Miracles and underneath was a written inscription that read:

'In loving memory of the selfless Digimons who sacrificed their lives and helped the Golden Child and his Royal Knight Digimon pull off one the greatest Miracles that saved the Digital World.'

"Cody," Davis requested, "Armor digivolve Armadillomon into Digmon and have him find and cut out a large slab of marble and bring it here."

"Why?" Cody inquired.

"Because I want a memorial for of all of loyal Royal Knights who battled and ended the reign of the seven demon lord Digimons long before the rise of Millenniummon," Davis explained, "Their names and memories deserved to be remembered and honored also."

"Where are we to find marble for that?" Cody asked.

"There's a quarry one mile east from here," Davis explained, "There's fine quality pure white marble there. Have Digmon dig and cut out a nice size rectangular piece and bring it here so I can give him the names of those faithful Royal Knights and their leader that he can inscribe on that marble slab."

"I understand," Cody obeyed as he got ready to carry out Davis' instructions. After armor digivolving Armadillomon into Digmon, the pair quickly went off into the direction Davis gave them. Forty-five minutes later, Cody and Digmon returned with a beautifully sculptured and polished pure white marble monument to be used as a memorial tribute to the Royal Knights.

"What took you both so long?" Davis asked.

"For the delay," Digmon apologized, "There were some Digimon in the area who helped out in acquiring, cleaning and polishing the marble you requested before bring it here."

"That explains that beautiful sculpture you guys came back with," Patamon commented. Digmon went and carefully set the new monument down before he went and dug a foundation to place the new monument in, which was next to the original monument that was already there. When that was done. Digmon went back and picked up the marble monument and set it into its foundation. Digmon made sure that it was safely and properly secured in its new place. Surprisingly, there was enough space for both of monuments side by side.

"Excellent!" Davis remarked before giving Digmon the names of the Royal Knights. Crusadermon's and Dynasmon's names weren't added since they were unforgivable traitors to the Royal Knights. Above their inscribed names was the inscription:

'In loving memory of the valiant Royal Knights who warred victoriously against darkness might.'

"This is perfect!" Davis remarked before he pulled out his violin and bow from the carrying case and stepped a couple of feet away from the two monuments. Leomon and the rest of the gang stood around the monuments as Davis began playing his violin solo.

The musical melody Davis was playing was his own original melody that one would hear at funerals honoring fallen soldiers and comrades. The melody started off sounding lively before gradually becoming saddening and ominous. But towards the end, the musical rendition started changing again as it generated emotions of optimism, appreciation and acceptance. The melody lasted for about seven minutes. By the time Davis was done, both the Digidestineds and Digimons applauded him. Mimi, Kari and Yolei themselves were moved to tears.

"That was amazing melody you played Davis!" TK complimented, "I never heard that type of music before."

"It's my own original piece," Davis said, "I came up with it sometime after Millenniummon's first major defeat. Don't worry, I made sure to have it copyrighted."

"That's good to know," TK said.

"What's the name of that musical artwork?" Leomon asked.

"I called it "Tears of Fallen Heroes"," Davis said, "As their leader, I feel it's my honor and responsibility that their memories and sacrifice is always commemorated. I won't let heroes like Cyberdramon and many others like him be forgotten or let their history be lost with time in the Digital World. I come here on certain occasions to commemorate and honor their memories and courageous sacrifice and the memories and courageous sacrifices of those Royals Knights should be remembered and honored also. As life has proven, there's no blessing without sacrifice."

"Those Digimons truly made a deep impact on your life Davis," Kari said as she walked over to him, "But I'm thankful that you and Veemon were willing to show and share this place with us."

"That song you played made was sad as it was also beautiful," Mimi commented, "I like how you ended on it positive note rather than on a depressing one."

"That's because I want to prevent further loss of lives if at all possible," Davis said, "But the Digimon Emperor's ruthlessness will test our endurance and resolve to keep going no matter what he throws at us."

"Today's incident added more seriousness to the sobering truth about how the Digimon Emperor will use our own Digimons against us if given the chance to," Yolei said, "You warned us and tried to prepare us for this but we really didn't see or understand it at the time. I was wrong to misjudge and doubt you back then even after you explained your reasons for your trial by fire test you gave us.

"You saw the dangers that were to come and as our leader, you wanted us ready for those dangers."

"A wise and good leader teaches and trains his team and looks to make his team stronger and smarter," Davis remarked, "I know I'm far from perfect as a leader and I made my fair share of mistakes, boy genius or not, but I'll continue do the best I can for all of you."

"Davis," Yolei spoke wholeheartedly, "I know it will be hard at times for me to do so, but I want to be a better and stronger team member and not a liability! I'll work harder and more diligent than before! I know there will be times Davis when you'll either train us in a difficult matter or instruct us to do things that at that moment I won't understand, and I admit I might get emotional and angry at you sometimes because of that.

"But after experiencing and witnessing for myself everything that's happened to us and seeing this memorial you brought us to, I understand far better now than before what makes you such a great leader and role model and why so many Digimons believe in you, even going as far as to willingly sacrifice their lives for the cause you fight for. So after today," Yolei promised, "I'll trust and believe in you and follow your example!"

A bright green glow suddenly appeared from out of the ground. From out of the glowing ground emerged an object that looked like a green egg attached to a shuriken. Engraved in front of it was the Crest of Sincerity.

"It's a digi-egg!" Cody exclaimed.

"And it has the Crest of Sincerity on it!" Mimi pointed out before turning to Yolei, "I believe it's for you Yolei."

"What?" Yolei said in surprise, "You think it's mine?"

"I'm certain it is," Mimi said confidently.

"Mimi is right Yolei," Davis said, "That digi-egg only appeared after your heartfelt words to me just moments ago. It awoken after it felt the depths of the sincerity of your heart. That digi-egg is yours to claim."

With her confidence strengthened, Yolei with and picked up the digi-egg from the ground and held it in her hands.

"It really is mine!" Yolei exclaimed happily before turn towards Hawkmon, "Shall we give it a go?"

Hawkmon agreed eagerly, "I'm ready when you are!"

Yolei held the digi-egg up and shouted, "Digi-armor energize!"

"Hawkmon armor digivolve to…Shurimon, The Samurai of Sincerity!"

Shurimon's figure was definitely that of a ninja. The big shuriken on its back was named "Kusanagi," and the shuriken on the tip of its four limbs were named "Momiji Oroshi." Shurimon's headband had the Crest of Sincerity imprinted on it.

"Wow!" Yolei marveled, "This is a cool look my partner has!"

"A ninja-looking samurai Digimon," Davis stated, "He'll be useful asset to us in the future."

"Now Yolei has two digi-eggs like you and me Davis," Cody said.

"Technically," Davis replied, "I have three, the golden Digi-egg of Miracles being my first and strongest…which I have to retrieve after I find where it is."

"I wonder if Kari and I will get second digi-eggs also," TK spoke up.

"Not likely," Davis said, "Eight crests with eight corresponding digi-eggs already found. That circle is complete TK. Besides, both you and Kari will be getting new crests after I find a way to get it done. What you can do for me is hope that I can make that miracle happen soon."

"Was that last part of a joke to tease me?" TK asked.

"I was being serious," Davis replied before he went to his violin case to place his instrument back inside. After putting them back inside and closing and securing the case, Davis said, "It's going to be a long trek back. If we leave now, we'll make good timing in heading back to the Digiport."

"I'll accompany you guys back," Leomon offered, "It'll give me time to get reacquainted to Mimi and her partner."

"That's fine by me," Davis allowed before the group started on their way from the memorial site and back from where they traveled after twelves minutes of walking…

"Hey Davis," Mimi requested, "Do you know of another musical piece to play? I'd like to hear it if that's OK with you. I used to sing songs here in the DigiWorld back when I was 12."

"I know that, Princess Karaoke," Davis concurred.

"How do you know about that?" Mimi asked with a surprised expression on her face.

"Why did you address Mimi as "Princess Karaoke"?" Kari asked Davis.

"Because that's the self-proclaimed title Memes gave herself while both she and Palmon were living in ShogunGekomon's castle during the time Myotismon emerge as the new enemy the gang had to deal with," Davis explained, "Memes made quite a reputation for herself with those Gekomons and Otamamons as a bratty spoiled princess," Davis laughed, "Mimi had Tai and Joe, their partners and Palmon serve time in the castle jail for trying to record her singing for ShogunGekomon and get her to leave the castle with them!"

"How do you know about that?" Mimi asked with the same surprised and embarrassed expression on her face.

"Yes Davis," Kari asked suspiciously, "How do you know about that? Did my brother tell you about this? Because he and Joe certainly never me about this!"

"I'm just hearing this story for the first time too," TK spoke up, "And I was part of the original team before Kari was added to it."

"No, Tai didn't tell me anything and neither did Joe," Davis confirmed, "Tai never told me anything about him and the others being Digidestineds back then or about their adventures here, remember? Veemon and I learned about that event from those Gekomons and Otamamons some time ago when we went to that same castle for some karaoke fun and for me to play my violin solo for ShogunGekomon's good pleasure."

"For ShogunGekomon's good pleasure?" Yolei asked.

"Why did he want you to play the violin for him?" Cody asked.

"ShogunGekomon, the Gekomons and Otamamons are Digimons with a love and gift for music and singing," Davis explained, "When Veemon and I last visited this memorial to play my violin as is my custom, a couple of those Gekomons and Otamamons came here and saw me playing my violin. When they realized who I was and how good I was playing, they asked if I'd be willing to play my violin for their leader ShogunGekomon at his castle. During the festivities, that was when they told me about Memes a.k.a. Princess Karaoke. They wanted her to sing and wake their leader up from his sleep because after he lost a singing contest, ShogunGekomon said that he would only wake up when he hears a singing voice as good as the singer who beat him in that contest."

"I wonder what else those blabbermouth Digimons told you about me," Mimi pouted as she folded her arms over her breasts.

"They said you have an amazing singing voice Memes," Davis added, "Do you still practice singing?"

"I do," Mimi revealed, "I can't afford to lose that talent. But you still haven't answered my question about whether or not you have another musical piece I can hear from you Davis."

"I have one rendition I played for the whole gang quite a while back," Davis recalled, "I called it "The Moonlight Above the Cherry Blossoms" (Sakura no Ue de Tsukiakari)."

"That sounds sweet!" Mimi complimented.

"I'd like to hear it also!" Palmon said after a long period of silence, "Mimi and I have some time before she has to return back to New York through the digiport."

"I personally never heard that melody before myself," Leomon commented, "I'm also interested in listening to it."

Davis turned to Kari and the others and asked, "Would you all like to like to me play that rendition again?"

"Sure!" Kari agreed.

"Fine by me!" TK said and Yolei and Cody nodded their heads in agreed.

"I guess it's unanimous," Davis consented as the get himself ready to play his original musical piece.

(Two Days Later; At The Ichijouji Residence)

Ken was in his room as he carefully watched and examined the video footage over and over again. He carefully took note of major scenes that played on in the footage.

"Despite the outcome of that battle," Ken said to himself, "Togemon was able to hold her own against Pegasusmon and Nefertimon, especially after some upgrades I added to that control ring. Perhaps I ought to look more into the Digimons of the previous group and what their strengths and abilities were."

Ken typed in several key commands on his keyboard of his computer. After a couple minutes his monitor screen was filled with pictures and information about Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Palmon, Gomamon, Tentomon, Patamon and Gatomon.

"These eight Digimons may be the keys to Davis' and Veemon's undoing," Ken said darkly as he decided to do some research on those eight Digimon and their past.

Ken is scheming and plotting a sinister plan in using the eight original Digimons against Davis and Veemon. How will he pull this off? Will Davis find his lost golden digi-egg and restore the full power of his golden crest with it so he can create the eight original crests the older group once had and restore their Digimon's previous powers?
