So two years have passed and it seems I've forgotton to give you guys an update on the rewrite of The Prisoner of War. To be completely honest I've lost track of time, I didn't even realize it until I got a private message saying so! So, update time.

No, I didn't forget about the rewrite. The past year has been...very confusing. Thought after thought, idea after idea racing through my head. Do I go back to the original draft, where Grievous and Shaak Ti are simply close friends? Do I rewrite Zipp's role, replace him with an actual character from the Star Wars universe, or scrap that whole subplot altogether? Do I roll Prisoner and Outcast into one continous story, or do I scrap Outcast's plotline and come up with a new conclusion? With Season Seven of The Clone Wars on Disney+, do I ecorporate that plotline into the story? How would Ahsoka even fit in the narrative? I know she and Grievous have a history, so I'm not sure if I should go that route. And honestly...WHAT THE HELL WAS I DOING WITH COLEMAN KJAC?! WHO EVEN IS COLEMAN KJAC?! I legit only added him into the story for...see, I don't even remember. Both he and Shaak Ti were on the Jedi Counsil, why would he need to be a mentor figure for her? And to be frank, there's gotta be more Jedi that could fit that role better than an Ongree NPC with ten seconds of screentime. Why not Obi-Wan? That'd be cool.

This is what I meant when I said I'd be rewriting entire plot lines and deleting others, I've been rewriting and deleting this story for so long and I honestly just gotta get it done. I also wanna strip away the comedy bits I added in...Grievous being a prisoner of war and Zipps screaming about how he needs to pack his toothbrush are complete tonal shifts that younger me was just unable to manage well. I started writing The Prisoner of WAr when I was fifteen, and I'm twenty now!

So now that I'm older and wiser, I'm shooting to have the rewrite up by the end of the month, so be sure to follow and stay updated if you haven't followed me already. I think I FINALLY have a tone and plot that I'm happy with, and I'm excited to share it with you!
