Hello dear readers, it has been a long time, hasn't it? I'm always keeping my promise to finish stories but this one took extra long time. I kept questioning myself why I couldn't finish this story and I came to the conclusion that I actually completed the story with the 11th chapter. I should have been content, but despite the many many reads, I received not a single comment on this chapter, even though I had put everything into it that I had. I loved the chapter but without feedback, I started to doubt myself. I had chapter 12 set up from the very beginning but wanted to scrap it. Now, more than a year later I felt the urge to finish this very last chapter after all as an epilogue. I hope you all will enjoy it, thank you all for the endless reads these years on this fic !

It must have been the warmest evening so far this late spring. The streets of Onibus were busier than normal, even on the road to Erza's home, more people than usual strolled down the pavements.

She reminisced about all that had happened in the past few months. Half a year has passed by and Gray successfully infiltrated Avatar, assisted by Erza. The whole guild was taken down and in the progress, Fairy Tail had been reunited. This all wouldn't have been possible without Jellal's plan. The time they spent together back then, was the best of her life. In between infiltration missions they would meet up regularly, finally freeing themselves from their duty, even if it was just one night.

But in the last few months, they hadn't seen each other. Emergencies kept getting in the way of their meetings and their locations of missions were simply too far away from each other.

Erza took a deep breath when she escaped her thoughts again. Taking in every walked along the canal and its many bridges. This would be the last time she walked back to her home this way. She would pack all her belongings and move back to Fairy Hills tomorrow now that the guild has been revived. Of course, she had longed to move back, but she sure would miss this idyllic town.

She heard something fell out of her bag, but as she turned around what it was, someone stood behind her. A tall figure, covered in a dark cloak handed her the exemplar of Sorcerer Weekly that must have been the thing that fell out. It was the one she had been carrying around for weeks now, on the front a triumphant picture of her long lost pink-haired friend and his loyal exceed at the Grand Magic Games.

''Thank you,'' she said, still not able to see the man's face. She raised an eyebrow when she tried to distinguish the cloak's colour in the late sunlight. Her eyes widened. Was it blue?

A group of men walked by but stopped when they noticed the man that was helping her.

''Hey, that cloak, isn't that guy part of Crime Sorciere?'' One of them said loudly to his friend as he pointed to Erza and the man. She looked back at him. The silver lines along the hood betrayed his identity as a member of the infamous guild.

The man quickly turned around and turned back just as fast, jumped forward and started to run; dragging a stunned Erza along with him.

''Hey, what-?'' She tried to free herself but on the other side, she didn't feel like fighting the guys either. When she looked back at the arm that was holding on to her it suddenly hit her. That scent. Could it be?

They ran over one of the bridges and took the stone-carved stairs down to hide under it.

Panting, the man laid his back against the wall. The space underneath the bridge was barely high enough for him to stand straight up. Erza looked around the corner, only to see the group of men go the other way. ''I think we've lost them,'' she said and turned around, she still couldn't see his face,

''I think I have to improve my incognito skills,'' a warm familiar voice said and the man slid back his hood, revealing his blue bangs.

Erza froze in place; ''J-Jellal?'' she softly said, her lips barely moved.

''How've you been?'' He said with a gentle smile.

Tears welled up in the corners of her eyes. She couldn't believe what was going on right now. Without thinking any further she jumped forward and nearly tackled him in a tight hug.

''What were you thinking,'' she let out muffled by his cloak, ''roaming the streets in public like that?''

''I'm sorry,'' he said as he held her close, ''I just wanted to see you now that this all is finally over.''

His words made her realise how long it has been since they last physically met.

''You're going back to the guild, aren't you?'' he asked as he slowly let go.

The sadness in his voice hurt her heart. ''Yes, I already packed everything,'' she said as she averted her gaze, ''I'm leaving tomorrow.''

A bittersweet smile adorned his face. ''I understand, of course you would return, it's your family after all.''

She realised he too must have thought about how hard it would be too keep seeing each other from now on. Erza felt her stomach clench of guilt. After all they had been through together they would be apart once again.

''I'm keeping the apartment,'' she suddenly said, ''I earn enough to pay rent for two.''

His eyes widened. ''Are you sure?''

''Of course, how else would I keep seeing my fiancé?'' She winked.

To her amusement, his face gained all shades of red. She took a step forward and tugged the loose strands of his hair behind his ear. ''Erza..,'' he whispered.

''I love you,'' she said as she cupped his face and smiled up at him.

''I love you too,'' he said and closed the distance between them. Her warm lips intoxicated him and for a moment, just for a little moment, he forgot about all of his sorrows. She was his saviour, his light that would guide him out of his seemingly never-ending darkness.
