So one day, when I was walking, I had a thought. In Mark of Athena/House of Hades or whatever, it says that Nico fell in Tartarus and was overwhelmed by Gaea's armies of monsters. So I was like, what if Nico died in there? And than I was like, what if he was able to close the Doors of Death? And finally, I bring you a really, really, really short story of his death. So... cue in the sad music?

Oh, Nico di Angelo is my favorite character, so please don't kill me!

Using the last of his energy, he lunged. Nico destroyed the last chain holding the Doors of Death in place. With a pleasant ding, the Doors disappeared. Nico dropped his sword and collapsed onto all fours where the Doors just were.

He could Gaea yelling at him in pure rage and hatred. But he was too exhausted to care. He knew he would die, but it was worth it. Now it was up to Hazel and the others to finish the job.

Nico gasped as he felt a sharp pain fill his every muscle. One of the monsters foolishly used his sword to stab him. The black sword went through his back and came out of his stomach. Nico could hear the cries of the beast as it disintegrated. He was already covered head to toe with wounds. His clothes was covered in holes and blood- his blood.

Gaea promised him a slow and painful death, brought by his own sword. Huh, well she wasn't lying.

In books, before a character died, they always seem to say that there lives 'flashed before they're eyes.' Well, they weren't exactly wrong either. Nico collapsed unto his side. All the painful memories replyed over and over again in his head.

Bianca. Percy telling him about her. The Titan War. All the people who died. Finding out about his wiped memories. His mother. Finding out about Bianca chosing rebrith. Falling into Tartarus. Everything he went through in this living hell.

Than everything changed. He was in an empty field during the sunset. Trees doted the landscape here and there. Than there was Bianca, standing calmly in the middle of the field. She looked the same way she did the last time he saw her, in her Hunter's clothes. She looked so peaceful. Her eyes were filled with life and she had warmest smile on her face. She held her hand out towards him and tilted her head to the side.

Suddenly nothing mattered anymore. If Bianca was the last thing he was going to see before dying, so be it. Nico smiled and closed his eyes as the world around him turned dark.
