Dodds stands in Benson's office, a bit perplexed. It was a typical day- he, the rest of the squad, Benson and Barba- meeting in her office- discussing the case. Only the conversation has been between only Benson and Barba for at least the past 5 minutes and as far as he can tell- they haven't actually SAID anything.

"Barba-"

"We still don't have enough-"

"What about-?"

Barba gives her a frustrated shake of his head and a pointed look. Olivia looks away- racking her brain, "Right."

Suddenly, Barba seems to have a thought- he turns in to Olivia, "Unless-" Her eyes come back to his- there's a spark of understanding between them.

Dodds glances anxiously to the other detectives. Did they know what was going on? He was new to SVU but was he that out of the loop? None of the others look concerned. Dodds turns his attention back to the pair in the center of the room. Listening intently.

Olivia fixes Barba with an inspired stare, "Can you really make that work?"

"Depends, does he know we have it?"

Olivia shakes her head. Barba responds with an eyebrow raise. A smile comes to both their faces, Olivia nods at him, "That's it."

Dodds looks on- panicked. They've clearly come to some conclusion and he seems to be the only one in the room who doesn't know what it is. He's just about say something when Fin's voice breaks in to save him, "Care to share with the class, Liv?"

Liv looks to Fin as if suddenly realizing the others are in the room again. "Yeah, Fin, Rollins- go pick up Maria, just bring her here. Dodds, Carisi- go to Troup's townhouse- stand by for a warrant."

She looks back to Barba. They exchange a nod as the detectives file out into the bullpen.

Dodds glances to Carisi, "They always do that?"

Carisi takes a moment to realize what Dodds is talking about, "Oh, you mean their secret language?"

Dodds nods and Rollins chimes in, "Since the moment they met."

Dodds grabs his coat- still processing what he's just witnessed.
