AN: Just a short one shot that I wrote last night.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

It was the sixth time that Judy had asked him that. Nick sighed as he stared at the house across the street. It had taken him a few months to find this address, but it was worth it. He wanted to find one of them; just one of them who had made his kithood a living hell all those years ago. He still had nightmares of that day where an innocent fox had his dreams crushed and his mouth muzzled by those he thought were his new friends.

"Judy, I waited years for this… I need to do this… I need closure," said Nick as his eyes never left the house. He made sure his uniform was as neat as possible, his badge shining as bright as ever, and the gun beside him visible. "I need to show him… at least one of them... that they may have hurt me, even broke me for a while, but I came out okay in the end."

Judy didn't say anything as she reached over and put her paw over his. "Just please don't cause too much of a problem…"

"I won't. I just want him to realize that he was wrong about me," said Nick as he looked at his partner and gave her a smile. When that was done, he quickly got out and watched for traffic as he made his way towards the house.

He wouldn't deny that a part of him was nervous. His heart was beating faster with each step towards the door. He played as many scenarios in his head about what was going to happen from a fight to a plead for forgiveness. Nick didn't know if he would forgive him, chances are he wouldn't, but it would be fun to watch him grovel.

Most importantly, he wanted him to know that the scared little fox who was kicked out of the scouts without being given a chance turned out to be one of Zootopia's best boys in blue. Of the five that were involved in that horrible night, only one was still in the city. He never forgot their names nor what they looked like. They haunted him to this day, but now they would no more. Not after this.

He pressed the door bell and prepared his speech. What he wasn't prepared for was a little wolf girl opening the door in a pink dress and red bow. Nick's eyes winded as she looked at him with wide five-year-old like eyes and smiled. "Hello Mr. Officer! How can we help you?!"

"Um, I'm looking for a Mr. Zeke Stripes?" asked Nick.

"One sec," said the little wolf before she turned towards the inside of the house. "Dad! There is a police officer outside for you!"

"I'll be right there," said a voice from inside.

Nick froze as he saw him enter. He was much taller and had shorten his mane. He wore a pair of black glasses and a simple polo shirt with blue pants. Yet even though it had been years ago, he still could recognize him in his memory. Yet as he tried to toss up his anger, he was left with only confusion as he stared at the young wolf who was beaming at her "father" and him smiling back at her. A far cry from the zebra who sneer and looked at Nick with hatred in his eyes when they were younger. What had happened to the pray who said that all predators were scum?

"Is everything alright?" asked a new voice that made Nick surprised yet again. This time a female wolf was coming outside clearly the mother of the little wolf. His eyes widened as the Zebra kissed the wolf on the cheek.

"Everything's fine I hope. I was about to talk to this officer," said Zeke as he then ushered his wolf daughter in as she skipped inside.

The couple looked at him before Nick cleared his throat. "Um, your daughter?"

"Mine, actually," admitted the female wolf. "From my first marriage… it didn't work out." She then hugged her husband who was blushing. "My husband has been her father since I gave birth to her. And he's better than my Ex."

"Dear, not in front of the cop," teased Zeke before he kissed his wife. "Why don't you put in that DVD for Ella to watch and I'll talk to the officer."

She nodded and headed inside, allowing Nick the privacy he wanted with Zeke. Nick opened his mouth, ready to say something… but it was not what he had intended. "My name is Officer Nick Wilde. I'm just going around town warning folks of some graffiti artists tagging the neighborhood. We would like it if you keep an eye out for anything unusual and let us know about it via 911."

"Oh, sure thing, Officer. We'll do. I hope you catch them," said Zeke with a nod.

"T-thanks. Have a nice day, sir," said Nick as he turned away and made his way back to Judy and her car. He didn't look back. He didn't even respond when the zebra said goodbye. He just walked over to the car, opened the door, and leaned his head against the seat before sighing.

"Well, what happened?" asked Judy, leaning forward.

"… it wasn't him," said Nick, as he closed his eyes.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, just drive," said Nick.

Judy stared at him for a bit before she shrugged and pressed the gas. Nick opened his eyes and watched as the house drifted away. Zeke didn't recognize him and if Nick was to be honest he didn't recognize that zebra at all. That wasn't the eyes of a cruel and terrible nightmare that had haunted Nick for years. It was just a loving father and husband who happened to be married to a predator with a kid.

Nick sighed as he closed his eyes again, letting the music that Judy put on help him relax.

The zebra from his nightmare was no more.
