Another one-shot! I've got loads of notes of things I've found all over Tumblr and stuff and I've just found one that says 'Leo and Lou get Frank to cuss, he's not happy'. Again, I own nothing, but Lou's my OC.
"Oh, flip." Frank said as a stack of freshly washed plates smashed to the floor. "Sorry, I didn't mean to, I-"
"Frank, it's OK." Percy smiled, disappearing behind the counter. He materialised with a dustpan and brush, still smiling.
"I'm such a klutz." Frank mumbled apologetically. Percy set about sweeping up the pieces. Frank stooped and started picking up the bigger shards, popping them in the bin. "Why did you ask me to help? Why not Jason or Annabeth or someone who won't make such a mess?" Percy raised his head to answer, a plate falling past his face and shattering on the floor. He and Frank stared at it.
"Oh, flip." Leo said in a sort of British accent, grinning wickedly. Louisa pushed a plate to the floor too.
"Oh, flippity flip." She shook her head, similar tone to her best friend. Frank felt his face heat up. Percy sighed.
"Will you two go away?"
"Golly gosh!" Leo grabbed Louisa's shoulder. "We seem to making a mess!"
"Oh dear!" She pressed her hand to her forehead and mocked fainting. Leo swooned to and they fell, giggling, to the countertop. Frank was crimson by this point, determinedly picking up the mess without looking at any of them, not even Percy.
"Stop it." Percy warned, standing and swatting at them both with the brush. They pretended to panic at the sight of it- not the brush, not the brush- and then cracked up laughing, spewing 'golly gosh's and 'deary me's. "Stop-" Swat. "Terrorising-" Smack. "Frank." Louisa caught the brush as it was about to come down on her hand. Percy yanked it free. "What did Frank ever do to you?" Percy demanded hotly.
"Nothing!" They chorused.
"I'm an easy target." Frank murmured, rising, still red-faced. Leo and Louisa grinned at him expectantly. "What do you want?"
"Just one swear word."
"Go on." Leo encouraged. "Just one," he persisted, holding up his forefinger, "and we'll leave you alone."
"No." Percy said. "Frank, no. You two, go away." They shook their heads, no matter how much frantic arm waving Percy did. He dropped the brush on Leo's head. The Spaniard muttered in his home tongue, rubbing at the on-coming bruise.
"We'll go when we get what we want." Louisa tipped her chin up defiantly. Percy glowered.
"Stop. Bullying. Frank."
"We're not!"
"Oh, we wouldn't dream of it!" Leo flapped his hands and rocked his head from side to side. "Come on, Frank, just one little cuss! We won't judge you!"
"Why are you so fixed on this?" Percy asked. He immediately got shushed. Leo and Louisa planted their elbows on the surface, linking their fingers under their chin and watching Frank, sweet smiles adorning their lips. Percy sighed and looked to the Roman. "Frank, don't-"
"Ssh!"
"Don't shus-"
"Ssh!"
Frank's face felt like it was on fire and his eyes darted to and fro, fumbling with his hands. Leo and Louisa didn't move. Percy rolled his eyes and finished tidying up. He perched himself on the end and watched in unamused silence, staring at the troublesome duo and suddenly feeling very much like his mother.
Frank mumbled and wedged his hands in his pockets, shoulders hunching. It had been three minutes and he resembled a tomato. When he spoke, they had to lean forward to hear, his voice just below a whisper, just audible.
"Butt."
It was fair to say Leo and Louisa found it hilarious. It was also fair to say that Percy chased them for an hour with a dustpan.
