- Flashback- Kururugi Shrine - Many years ago.

"Hey Suzaku, let us promise something!"

"What is it Lelouch?"

"You know how fragile Nunnally is, so we both should become her knights and keep her safe!"

"That sounds cool! Let's do it! But samurais are cooler, so let's go with that!"

"What, no way! Knights are much better!

"Samurais!"

"Knights!"

"Samurais!"

"Knights!"

"Enough you two! You can't be my guardians if you fight like that." Nunnally pouted, making the two boys stop immediately.

"Now let's make a promise. That the three of us will always there for each other!" The girl said as she grabbed their hands.

"It is a promise!" They laughed as they made the pinkie promise.

Imperial Capital – Emperor's Quarters – Around two in the morning.

"A promise huh?" Lelouch slowly rose from his slumber, memories stopping him from a good night of sleep.

He rose up silently, trying his best to not awake C.C, who was deep asleep near him.

After the events on the throne, Lelouch retired for the evening, his witch followed, saying she would be sleeping in his room and wouldn't take no as an answer. Shirley even tried to say she would be the one to go, Luana quickly stopped her and said to let it go for tonight.

Lelouch cried that night. He didn't make any noise, didn't scream, and didn't even whimper once. However, the tears didn't stop, cold and salty as they were. It was only when his witch involved him in a hug and put the covers over him, he managed to finally fall asleep.

Hypnos, the so called god of sleep, wasn't kind to him this night. Dreams of his time with Suzaku kept resurfacing, showing the good and the bad, finishing on the promise they made as children.

Silently, he covered C.C, kissing her on her hair and moved towards the balcony. From there, he could see the entirety of the capital. The full moon was glowing bright and the wind came softly as if trying to console him.

Eventually, he began to feel better; the clear sky and the full moon acted to console him, his tears were gone by now.

After a few moments of silence, he felt a pair of arms hug him from behind. With a smirk, he turned around and reciprocated the hug, smelling the fresh scent of pine and, of course, pizza from the woman's hair.

"Do you even know how full your schedule is for today Boya?" C.C said without raising her head from his chest.

"Believe me when I say that I do." He laughed a little.

"Then why aren't you on the bed?" she rose to look him face to face.

"You know why." She shifted uncomfortably, frustration clear in her golden eyes.

"They are just dreams Lelouch, they can't hurt you."

"It is not that." His voice cracked, if only for a moment, too subtle for anyone but the woman who was glued to him to hear. "Long ago, we made a promise and now, Nunnally is gone, Suzaku is… not here, and I am the only one left." He was not one to show weakness, far from it. However, even the toughest people reached their breaking point and He knew he could trust C.C to keep his secrets.

"You did what you had to do. If you didn't, you and the pinkie would be in serious problems by now. So I think you can say you did the right thing." Good, old C.C always worried without trying to show it.

"Thank you." He answered truthfully. Her words helped to release part of the weight on his shoulders. It wasn't much, but it was more than enough for now.

"You can thank me by coming back to bed. It is terribly cold out here. " She began to lead him back to bedroom.

"You know I will not be able to go back to sleep."

"Who said anything about sleeping?" She said with a sly smile. "I still haven't seen the results of this so called physical training of yours you know and as I said, I am cold."

"Oho, then allow me to show my new skills witch." He said pushing her down the bed.

"Make sure to impress me Boya." C.C knew she could not keep Lelouch for herself for much longer, especially with Euphemia demanding his attention almost every night because of her nightmares, Shirley with her confession and Monica, appealing to their childhood and nostalgia. Marrybell seemed interested as well as she had been asking Lelouch for a private tea session just the two of them since she had been nominated High Commander. Little Anya even looked cheerful and blushed whenever the Boya would comment on one of her photos, but maybe that was simply a bit of a complex since he did gave her memories back.

She even suspected Cecile as the assistant seemed to blush whenever the Emperor even passed her by the corridors. She still couldn't dismiss Oz or whatever her name was, she smelled like trouble from miles away. Her competition was growing; but she would play her cards well, patience was one of her virtues after all, immortality taught her that, and she damn well would savor every moment she had with him until the last possible second.

Britannia News – Morning after Suzaku's Revolt

"Hello and good morning, we are live, here with the latest information on Britannia and the world" The host smiled as the images of the battle last night appeared.

"In what can only be considered a cowards act, the ex-knight of the round table, Kururugi Suzaku appeared with a few insurgents in what appeared to be a suicide attack against the imperial capital of our Holy Britannian Empire. However, thanks to the swift acts of The Knight of the Rounds, not only they managed to not allow them to even reach the city, but the traitor and also the one who committed such a great act of terror in using the weapon now called as F.L.E.I.J.A was apprehended by no one less than the Knight of one herself."

"Kururugi Suzaku's execution is scheduled to be this afternoon. In an ultimate act of kindness, His Imperial Majesty granted even someone as hated as Kururugi a trial by combat in respect for his time as knight for Britannia. The battle shall occur in the Oneiros Colosseum in the north part of the city, only those above age will be allowed. This will be a closed event; it will not be shown on any channel, in respect for the victims of the F.L.E.I.J.A incident. His Imperial Majesty is confident that the Heavens themselves will deliver swift justice.

"In other news, the mysterious woman whose very presence has been driving the population of this beloved capital insane with her sudden appearance near His Imperial Majesty personal quarters has been identified. The woman who calls herself Cecilia has made her first official appearance today on the earliest hours of the day!" An image of C.C in her black dress appeared on the screen behind the reporter.

"According to the person herself and later confirmed by the staff of the Palace, Lady Cecilia is, in truth, a very close, personal advisor to His Imperial Majesty, having joined him a few months after he was exiled from the Mainland."

"I don't know about you folks, but there may be more to this story than what we are being told." The host gave a little wink to the camera "Don't forget this is not the only women that His Majesty has. We have exclusive, never before seen photos of at least two other women who seemed very close with our White Emperor. Want to know more? We will give you the spicy details after a very short break. Don't go anywhere!"

Imperial Capital – Emperor's Quarters

"Was that really necessary?" Lelouch said as he saw C.C open a box with another pizza from Pizza hut. It was her second and it was only nine in the morning!

"It was either revealing myself or let the rumors increase to the point in which they began to say you are a degenerate monster kidnapping woman for your pleasure. It would much be simpler if you just admitted that in at least one thing you and your father are similar. At least, with this, we can buy a little time. And I was getting bored, having to disguise myself every time I had to go out." She had discarded the black dress, and was cutely nibbling on a piece of pizza.

"Why choose Cecilia?" He turned off the news and moved, refusing an slice, choosing instead an apple which he took a healthy bite.

"Oh you know, it can easily be understood in case someone slips C.C. Oh, maybe are you asking why I didn't use my real name. I didn't know you wanted other people aware about one of our little secrets." She looked at him in disgust for choosing a fruit, over pizza.

"Witch, don't test me!" He huffed as he finished adjusting his white clothes. He ignored her laugh as he tried to remember his schedule for the day.

First, a meeting with the few high ranked generals he knew weren't mindless nobles without any actual skills to finish reorganizing the military. After that, a brief lunch with Luana and Monica in which they would potentially choose candidates to the Knights of the Rounds, especially the second seat which was still vague. Lelouch had someone in mind, but, as things were now, he doubted she would even consider his offer or listen to him at all.

Moving forward, the big event of the day, the trial of "Kururugi Suzaku" will come to happen midafternoon, just enough time before his visit on the installations in which his new capital ship that was being built. Finally, a dinner with a representative of Euro Britannia to discuss the fears and anxieties of the noble faction as well as overseeing the schedule of the imminent arrival of Grand Duke Velaines himself who wished to congratulate him and discuss the relations between the mainland and its European counterpart.

"I am just saying that my public appearance should keep the tabloids occupied for at least a few weeks. Everyone adores discussing the love lives of people, especially if that person is the ruler of their country." She smirked, grabbing another slice.

"I never liked the press. And now, as I sit upon the throne, that dislike hasn't dwindled, but grown exponentially. However, such is the burden of the Emperor I guess. For what is worth, I thank you C.C" He finished by putting his hat and turned around so she could give her appraisal.

"I still hate the fact that you can make everything you wear look amazing on you. It grinds my gears." She scowled at her lover and confidant.

"I will take that as compliment. Changing the subject, about the installations under the palace… any reports?" he picked the papers on his desk.

"It was as we suspected. A gate was indeed there. Nevertheless, we also found other facilities; we will be exploring them sometime this week when we are sure the Order didn't leave anything for unwanted visitors." She threw the pizza box away, and jumped at the bed, hugging her cheese plush.

"C.C, I know I don't need to tell you this, but be careful. First sign of danger, I want you out of there." He said with absolute seriousness in his voice.

"Oya? Are you getting soft, worrying about me?" Even without looking at her, Lelouch knew she was showing her trademark Cheshire smile. However, this time, he did not do their usual bicker.

"Yes, indeed. After all, I still haven't fulfilled my promises to you, did I? I do intend to make you happy Cera." And with a smirk of his own, a flourish of his cape, the man was gone, leaving a red faced woman.

"Stupid boy, he is going to be the end of me." There wasn't any anger on her words. After all, he was the man who made her want to live again. To experience new emotions. "Thank you, Lelouch."

Outside, where he could not hear her words, Lelouch was greeted by two members of his royal guard, as well as his Knight of Orange, who was kneeling in wait.

"Raise Jeremiah, we have much to do." The loyal cyborg quickly did as told and moved to be only two paces behind his lord. The two guards followed them without making a sound.

"My lord, our spies have reported. It is as you have foreseen, the remains of Europia have begun to move." Jeremiah whispered as they walked the grand halls of the palace.

"Indeed. It seems things are going according to plan. Estimations before they make their move?"

"Our intel says it could go from four to six months, depending whether they find help. Aside from that, the preparations for the execution are in place. Finally, Lady Euphemia insisted on attending the event with you, she begged for it." Lelouch could only sigh. Ever since she learned what will happen, she had demanded to be allowed to see it. He could never deny her.

"I understand. Anything else I should be aware off?" They passed one of the gardens as some far away servants bowed to him, act in which he responded with little waves and smiles.

"We have located two of the VIPs you have asked for, the location of the other one is currently unknown, but we are working with urgency on discovering it." Jeremiah seemed almost ashamed he could not fully fulfill his orders.

"Rejoice Jeremiah, your work is nothing short of perfect in my eyes. I am sure you will be able to deliver the results. Do not push yourself too hard." He smiled at the cyborg, making him shed a few tears of emotion.

"Your kindness indeed knows no bounds."

"Now, I do think it is time to begin." Lelouch said as they arrived at double doors that were opened by a pair of butlers.

Inside was a large table, with the world map at the center with various pawns and pieces that without a doubt represented the armies around the globe, with around five men and women, including the newly appointed High Commander Marrybell which showed a delighted smile when she saw him enter.

"Ladies and Gentleman, shall we begin?" He said as he sat on the only unoccupied chair at the head. Jeremiah silently standing at his side.

The meeting which would shape the world had begun.

Meanwhile - Glinda Knights Dock – Imperial Capital

Oldrin Zevon, personal Knight of Honor of Princess Marrybell Mel Britannia, as she watched her personal items being transferred from the Caerleon class ship to a Logres class ship which was also being modified, liked to think Fate was a fickle and twisted mistress. The events of the previous days only making sure to confirm her thoughts.

So many things she considered the truth were lies. Her friend Toto was never a friend, but a spy of a more than one thousand year old cult with orders to keep tabs on Marry and her. Said order influence went so high that even the previous emperor not only was a member, but one of its leaders.

That was one piece of information she had received that had made her blood boil. That demon Charles had, according to the Emperor's mysterious advisor, C.C, used the power the order had, Geass, against his own daughter! It took one of the Knights of The Round, Lord Jeremiah, which was also one of the victims of said order, to break the… spell? On her dear friend.

Marry was so shocked by her real memories, she went fully unresponsive for two hours. Thank the heavens she was, at least on the outside, alright. She had been on her room the past few days to make sure she would be ok.

The princess then remembered that she had made a contract with someone named V.V, who gave her the power to make people slaves. That had made her blood go cold. Merry was a good person, but one thing she also had was a merciless temper. You betrayed her, you were gone. Thankfully, she realized that since coming here, that defect seemed to be diminishing; she was smiling genuinely more and more. Said change she claimed had nothing to do with the time she spent with her brother, the Emperor. So, at least, there were slim chances of her princess using that power for evil.

Good thing that V.V was gone, along with the order, if what that C.C said could be trusted. However, it had to be true. That day she was fighting with her brother, Toto butted in, begging her to look her in the eyes. She immediately felt like something was very wrong, she heard voices that said to not look at in the eyes no matter what.

They were knocked out, but Toto never managed to have them look at her. She later found out her attendant had the power to change memories, very similar to the emperor. She shuddered at the thought of what she would to her brain. The body of her maid was never found, however, she did receive a detailed report by one of the Emperor's royal guards that not only proved her betrayal, but her death at the hand of the leader of the order for failing her mission. Also, the mysterious voices that "helped" her at that moment never resurfaced.

Moving a few boxes, she was thanked by a few operators and saw Sokkia bickering with a smiling Tink who simply laughed as she gave him little harmless punches.

Oldrin thought about joining them, but she still had some events to go through. Those events being her meeting with her brother and Peace Mark. Without his memories changed, he fled the scene, calling her monster for siding with Britannia. She has a brother and not only he is a terrorist, but also hates her, just great. She had told everything to Marry and to her surprise; her friend had not only comforted her, but said she would do what Oz wanted to do. Her! Marrybell Mel Britannia, the hunter of terrorists! The second Massacre Princess!

After that they didn't even had the time to process things as they were called back to the capital. That is when the emperor used his Geass on the princess, forcing her on a contract with V.V. They were dispatched immediately for Mexico to counter a terrorist unit. Time passed and Marry's brother resurfaces and here they were.

She didn't know how to process these facts. They were stationed here until orders came and all she could think about were these truths the world had dropped at her. Her brother was, for the lack of a better word, gone. Her uncle was somewhere in Europe and wasn't answering her calls. Oldrin was beginning to freak out! Don't even get her started on the fact that the current Emperor also had one of these Geass. There was only so much poor Oz could process or worry about.

She kicked a nearby pebble as she crossed the hangar to the enormous balcony in which you could see the forest which surrounded the capital. Letting the winds move her hair and give a brief respite that the knight so desperately needed, she remembered her oath.

To protect the weak, that was her duty as noble and as a knight. Such principles were in direct opposites with Emperor Charles's Darwinism. She even began to think Britannia was on the wrong side of the fight. However, such dangerous ideas would never come to see the light of the day as His Majesty Lelouch's ideals were the ones she followed her entire life. That and the fact he proved, by using Jeremiah, he didn't use his Geass on her and Marrybell, made him ok on her books.

"You know, I can't be brooding! Whatever happens, I will deal with it when it comes!" Oldrin slapped her cheeks and put a grin on her face. If her brother was her enemy, she would deal with him, until then she would think every single way she could talk sense into her own blood. She was a knight of the empire, loyal, unlike the traitorous Suzaku Kururugi, her duty was to serve and protect. And that is what she would do.

"Oldrin! Where are you?" She heard Sokkia calling for her. Leaving the balcony, she quickly joined her friends.

"Hey, I am here. Sorry about that, had a lot to think about." She apologized, running to the duo.

"It is no problem; we are all waiting for Leondhart to come back so we can go together to the research laboratory." Tink smiled at her.

"The exams for upgrades on our knightmares were today? I had completely forgotten." Oz scolded herself for forgetting.

It was somewhat of a surprise that when Marrybell was promoted, all the aces of the Glinda Knights had also gained many benefits. One of those was completely new and advanced Knightmare Frames, developed by Camelot. Hence these tests to see what could be upgraded on their machines and what would have to be completely changed.

"Oz! Get your head in the game! You have been distracted ever since we have reached the capital. What is going on?" Sokkia tried to hug her, only for Oz to dodge at the last moment, used to her antics.

"It is nothing; it is just kind of nerve wrecking to be here. I mean, it is the capital. And we are using one the Emperor's personal Hangars. It puts me at an edge."

"I agree, I can't seem to calm down. Also, according to Lady Marrybell, we will have an audience with His Imperial Majesty in the next few days." Tink agreed wholeheartedly, showing his nervousness.

"Oh yeah! Lady Marrybell's brother, he is handsome at least." Sokkia smirked, much to the chagrin of Oz.

"Sokkia! Have some respect, he is our ruler."

"Oh, let me have my fun! I mean with how Lady Marrybell speaks of him, you would think those two are having an affair." She continued, ignoring Oz growing anger.

"I am warning you. Stop now…" Oz had an edge to her voice now.

"I mean you are really lucky Oz, being her knight and all. The two of them might even invite you to a… GEH!" Sokkia was grabbed by the neck as Oz raised her from the ground, both hands on her neck.

"Sokkia, what do we say when we cross the line?" Oz had a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

"I-I a-am sorry!" The girl begged for oxygen.

"Good girl." Oz let her go. After a few seconds of inhaling and exhaling, Sokkia began to cry a little.

"Oz, you idiot. Can't you take a joke?" She hugged Oz's legs.

"As a knight, it is my duty to protect the honor of my lady." Oz laughed, feeling her problems go away.

That moment, the doors to the hangar opened, revealing their friend Leondhart. He looked around, quickly finding the group, he moved towards them.

"I am extremely sorry for my delay. I hope you all have not been waiting for long. It is good to see you after sometime." He said in his usual noble way.

"No problems, you didn't miss much. How is she by the way?" Tink greeted him, as Oz and Sokkia continued to bicker.

"Monica has been stabilized, she will be fine in the next few days, no permanent damage either." He had a genuine smile on his face.

Sokkia let go of Oz's leg and moved and faced the newcomer. "You know, I still find incredible the fact that just when we all were on break from work as Marry and Oz had to come to the capital, you go to visit your fiancée who is on duty on Japan and, by a miracle, not only do you join the fight, save her from dying and escape the destruction of the new weapon. And by a stroke of luck, find transport to the capital and the best medics available for her. I am sorry, but my mind is literally exploding, trying to understand that."

"Believe me, I find it hard to believe just as you do. However, I have no other explanation. It was like voices, telling me to be there. Suddenly, I couldn't ignore them, I just couldn't." His mention of voices, made Oz flinch, remembering her own encounter with the mysterious voices which spared a brutal change in her memories.

Could it be a coincidence?

"Well, I am happy that both of you are safe. That is all that matters in the end right?" Tink put a hand on his shoulder, reassuring him.

"Indeed my friend that is the truth." He looked around. "Where is the Princess? I didn't see her anywhere here or on my way." The trio looked at Oldrin expectantly.

"Why are you looking at me? I don't keep tabs on Marry all the time." She huffed.

"Please, you are her personal knight. You are almost glued at the hips by the amount of time you spend together." Sokkia pointed, laughing.

"That doesn't mean I know where she is every single time!"

"So you don't know where she is now?" Leondhart was trying and failing not to laugh.

"…. I do." They laughed. "Oh, shut it. She is on a meeting with other high commanders of the Empire. She will contact us when it is done, since there it isn't set when it is going to end. It could take one hour or five."

"That certainly explain all this upgrade we have been receiving." Tink watched as painters moved to put the official Glinda Knight colors on their new ship.

"If that is so, why are you three gathered here?" Leondhart asked.

"Did you forget already? We were waiting for you so we can go, do our exams for our improved Knightmares? Are you really that dumb?" Sokkia punched him in the stomach as Oz sighed and Tink laughed.

"My apologies, then let's not waste any more time. Let us depart at once, I heard the head scientist does not like to waste time after all." as soon as he recovered from the punch, They left the hangar, traversing the enormous halls of the Palace, talking about just how grand the place was, until they stopped when they reached a certain building.

Surrounded by a garden of golden lilies, the Knight of Rounds Pantheon stood to their side imposingly. They all stopped to admire the beauty and presence of the building. However, Oz had an even deeper connection to the place. Her mother once stood there as a Knight of the Rounds, one of the most powerful knights of the empire. When she was but a child, it was Oz's dream to stand there as well.

Now, the building seemed to be calling for her, asking her to join the others inside, like a desire she couldn't deny. Oz's legs began to move on their own, dragging her closer to it. She ignored the calls from her friends, as if in a trance, until, like a breeze, someone passed her, moving towards the building.

It was no one other than Shirley Fenette, Knight of Ten. She finally took notice of them, smiling sweetly, making the group all bow to her.

Embarrassed by such reverence, the Round quickly showed her shy side as she asked for them to rise.

"Please, there is no need for such a thing. I may be a Round, but these kinds of things aren't necessary outside of formal events. Please move!" She helped them rise.

"But Lady Fenette, you are a Round! We must show appropriate courtesy." Leondhart all but begged.

"And I am saying that is unnecessary. Please, none of that." During the exchange, Oz could not dismiss her desire to enter the Pantheon. Noticing this, Shirley approached her.

"Want to see how it looks like inside?" She whispered so only the blond knight could hear.

"My lady! I would never…." Oz moved away, clearly embarrassed.

"Stop with the titles, call me Shirley. You are Oz correct? I heard a lot about you. Actually, I heard about all of you Glinda Knights."

"We are honored that one of the Rounds heard about us." Oz tried to bow, but gave up when she saw the Shirley stare at her.

"The honor is mine. It seems you and your friends are indeed busy, I do hope to see you here one day Oz. I think we can become great friends." And with that she moved towards the building as the doors opened to receive her.

It was then she saw it, the twelve marble thrones, occupied by all of the present Rounds with the exception of Lord Jeremiah and Shirley who was getting to her seat. And at the highest one of them, staring at her was the Knight of One, Lady Luana. It was like a shock had overcome her. She could not move away from those red eyes, as if they were reading her entire life until this point.

Such spell was broken when she noticed the doors were closing, and Luana allowed her to go with a mysterious smile.

It was seconds later that Sokkia, Leondhart and Tink came and dragged her away; talking about how awesome it was they had the chance to not only talk with a Round, but one who actually had praised them, even inviting them to see the famous Pantheon. Such words, however, fell on Oz' deaf ears as the only things she could think were the thrones and Lady Luana deep red eyes, red like blood.

She only recovered when they were on the door of the research labs. Sokkia was poking her, asking if she was ready.

Oldrin Zevon felt something again when she stood before these doors. Something was beginning. Something grand. And whatever it was, alongside her friends and her lady, she would face it with bravery

Hand in hand, the core of the Glinda Knights entered the room, a smiling Cecile Croomy there to welcome them.

Imperial Capital – Libra's Palace – Euphemia Private Garden – Few Hours Later

The Libra Palace is one of the twelve most luxurious residences that could be found in the entire world. Made for the exclusive use of the Imperial Family, this place had its most defining fact to be the previous residence of the princess sisters: Cornelia, the Goddess of Victory and Euphemia, the Massacre Princess.

And it was here that one of them now stood. Euphemia, in a black dress, her long hair in a bun, stood in the middle of the gardens that once belonged exclusively to her, as birds stood on her shoulders and she watched the roses bloom everywhere.

'I don't feel anything' the woman thought as memories of childhood threatened to overwhelm her. Cornelia running after her, telling her to be careful. Schneizel playing chess with her sister while she watched, trying to learn. Clovis painting another one of his so called masterpieces. Odysseus coming to share sweats. Even Carine and Guinevere coming to bother her. She didn't feel a thing about any of them.

"I have changed." She said to one of the little birds which landed on her fingers. "I thought that by coming here, I would feel some form of regret, but there is nothing, not even sadness, there is only indifference to them."

"I guess time really does change people. I wonder if you would hate the person I have become, Nunna." Saying her name hurt her heart, the smile of the little girl ever present in her mind. "However, I have learned that Lelouch's path is the only one for bringing the peace you desired so much. Having said that, I will not apologize for picking his side over our family even though I know you would have wanted us to coexist in harmony." The woman stood up, picking a very simple crown of white flowers.

She silently moved to a small statue of an angel, well hidden by vines and leaves.

"This was your favorite spot to hide, I still remember like it happened yesterday. I used to come and cry when I first heard you and Lelouch were gone. I liked to think you and him were with me in spirit and that was everything I needed." She put the flower crown upon the angel's head. "We used to fight so much to see which one of us would marry him, it certainly made him uncomfortable." She laughed, but quickly stopped.

"I tried you know, I tried really hard, but I can't deny it anymore. I love him, I always did. I tried to forget him, tell my heart it was only a brotherly love and move on, but in my desperation all that I did was create and give power to a monster which ended your life. I can't apologize enough for that." Her smile was gone, small tears fell from her cheeks and to the ground.

"You know, when I first saw him again, I was a little afraid, afraid that the sweet boy which taught me how to dance, that read fairytales for me and you, who sang us to sleep was gone. And a man who hated the world had taken his place. I was naïve; Lelouch never changed, he still cared about us more than anything and …" She blushed. "He was there for me when I had nightmares, he begged for my forgiveness for something he had no control, he was there when I needed him and gave me space when I requested. He saved me, how could I not fall in love even harder after that?"

"Your mother was even considering an engagement between us at some point you know?" Of course that hadn't lasted, Euphie poor excuse of a mother had denied immediately, refusing to accept that one of her daughters would marry a commoner spawn. In the end, when sickness came and took her away, few had shed tears. Naive as she was at the time, Euphemia had been inconsolable for months. Now? Her mother was nothing more than a distant memory.

"But, above all, even my love for him, it was his for you. He would burn this world if you dropped even a single tear, never forget this ok Nunnally? He is even preparing to raise a memorial just for you after his everlasting peace arrives. I even helped him pick the place and everything. You would certainly be surprised."

The breeze was her only response.

"I go to Lelouch's side Nunnally. I don't care if the entire world is going to judge us, I don't care if he rejects me, for I will stay by his side. I really wished you could be here, I really did, but I promise to be there for him in everything just as I know you would." She began to move away just as a guard entered the gardens.

"Milady, it is time. His Imperial Majesty awaits you at the meeting point." The guard made a small bow.

"Yes, I was just about done. Let's not keep him waiting any longer." She took a veil that the guard offered to cover her face and parts of her hair.

With one last look at her garden, she said her final words.

"Goodbye Nunnally, I will never forget you." She didn't hear an answer, she wasn't expecting one.

"Milady, are you sure about this?" The guard asked as they approached a carriage which was on standby just outside the entrance.

"Yes, I want this place burned and rebuilt as a memorial for Nunnally Vi Britannia." The guard hesitated for a moment for there were priceless objects inside the palace, including jewels and art pieces. "Do not worry, what can be converted to money will go to the creation and maintenance of orphanages. It would be her wish. Just one thing, there is a small purple jewelry box with a crystal on top on Cornelia's room."

"What should be done with it Milady?"

"Destroy it and burn it until only the ashes remain." And with these cold words, she entered the carriage, leaving a frozen guard in front of the Palace.

'Goodbye my family and goodbye my sister Cornelia, our bond ends here.' Euphemia thought as the carriage began to move. With her family behind her, it was finally the time to face the monster she had created and put her dark past behind so she could move to the light she so desperately yearned for.

Imperial Capital – Oneiros Colosseum.

The Oneiros Colosseum named after the Greek Gods who ruled over dreams, nightmares and the alike. In testament to that, statues of Icelus, ruler of illusions and nightmares, Phantasos, ruler of the surreal, and Morpheus who molded all dreams were displayed though the arena which was almost a perfect copy of the one located in Rome.

True to its name, it was here that many warriors' dreams come true. However, if these dreams were the sweet ones brought by Morpheus or the terrible nightmares delivered by Icelus, only these walls could tell. It was also here that warriors were raised to knighthood, where truth was determined, where glory and despair were reached in equal measure. However, today, none of these events would come to pass. Not a single person who was entering this place today wished to see a battle. They only desired one thing: Justice.

Justice against a man who had killed millions of brave, fellow countrymen in the most coward of ways. A man who had fled afterwards and had dared to try assassinate their new and just emperor. For the first time in years, rage was the only thing filling the people's hearts in that arena, demanding for the traitor presence, so judgement could come.

Such rage was temporally extinguished as the curtains of the Imperial booth opened, revealing His Imperial Majesty Lelouch in all his glory, the sun shining on his white and golden clothes.

The public went insane, praising, crying, sending kisses, all for the men who ended the reign of Tyranny of the dictator Charles and had brought to them the traitor of the crown.

Lelouch made a quick movement, asking for silence, which was immediately granted as the entire arena went mute as if by magic. When he was sure all eyes were on him, he spoke.

"My fellow citizens, today is day of joy, but also, one of sadness." His tone was somber, showing sadness, but also firm, making him look resolute. "A few days ago, we lost much. We lost fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, lovers. All of them, gone by the act of a few people. The first one, the monster who pulled the trigger, one who you trusted and treated as an equal. You know who it is: Kururugi Suzaku!" The screams of revolt were everything he needed to know they were at the palm of his hand.

"The second one, the man who orchestrated the development of such an weapon of mass murder. You also know that man. You who had cared for him, rooted for success. Yes, you know who it is: Prince Schneizel El Britannia." He stopped once again; making sure the anger of the people was fueled.

"For some time, they were allowed to run free, escape from their crimes and I could not be more disheartened at seeing your suffering." He grabbed his chest where his heart would be, showing the right amount of pain to make the viewers cry.

"However, my desire for justice remained true and soon enough, the heavens answered my prayers, by quickly delivering our enemy straight to our doors!" He pointed at the sky as the light of the sun shined upon him, giving an almost sacred look to the emperor.

"In his arrogance, the "white reaper" intended to cause even more grief as he and his conspirators gathered to launch a great attack at our beloved capital." His grief was gone, replaced by rage. "However, your guardians, your protectors, the Knights of Round, by my will, swiftly acted to protect all of you!" The people cheered.

"And now, we stand here to not only pay respect for the fallen, but also assure their souls can rest in peace, knowing justice has been served today!" He raised his hand once again, which confused the people. "Many of you were understandably upset when I granted this trial by combat. I did such an act, not only to respect the will of our predecessors who had leaded us to these glorious days, but because of a request."

"Yes, a request, by no one other than a survivor of said massacre." He pointed at the screen revealing a blond man with nice facial features, between twenty and twenty three years old. "You probably don't know this man, this is Adam Smith. An orphan of both parents, his only wish was to serve his country at the best of his capabilities and he finally did it when he was deployed to defend his people in the Tokyo settlement." The silence was so grand; one could hear a leaf fall on the ground.

"And it was this man that was caught in the radio of the destruction." The people watched Their Emperor try his best to hold tears. "However, he refused to allow death to claim him. Terribly disfigured, his will to serve and protect remained strong, he returned to the mainland and begged me a chance to make things right. And who am I to deny such a heartfelt request. That is why, ladies and gentleman that the enemy of Kururugi Suzaku won't be one of the Rounds, but Adam Smith, as he carries all your sadness to promote justice!" if one were to walk close to the colosseum right now, they would see that the building seemed to be literally vibrating from the excitement and shouts of the people inside.

"Let the contestants enter the stage of judgement!" With a move of his hand, the doors of the arena opened, revealing a very man, wearing an all-white mask without a single detail, which covered his entire head. He was also using a simple soldier suit, a claymore at his hip. The crowd screaming even louder when he appeared.

"Adam Smith! Adam Smith! Adam Smith! Adam Smith! Adam Smith!" The shouts could be heard all the way to the palace.

The same could not be said when the door on the opposing side opened, revealing Kururugi Suzaku, in soldier suit as well, also porting a claymore. The amount of insults thrown at him were mind numbing. However, he didn't seem to mind as he only stared ahead, his eyes looking lost and unfocused.

"And now, let this trial of knights, begin!" Lelouch shouted as he raised his hands.

Bells announced the start of the fight; however, as Adam soon entered position, Suzaku remained the same, not even assuming a pose. The people began to scream for the Japanese to act. Nevertheless, he seemed immune to all around him.

However as soon, as Adam began to approach him, Suzaku released a defining scream and, like a beast, moved towards the knight and began to strike repeatedly, swinging with neglect.

At first, Adam proved to be excellent with the sword as he blocked and parried every single strike with ease. Later, he began to put pressure, countering Suzaku's strikes, all without saying a single word.

Finally, he pushed forward and in single upward cut, removed the sword from the Japanese and kicked him, making him fall, panting. The masked knight then moved and pointed the sword to his enemy throat.

As the entire colosseum screamed for his death, the masked knight looked at where the Emperor was. Lelouch rose from his seat and when he was sure all eyes were once again on him, he gave a nod to end it.

The knight raised the sword and, with all of its strength, bought it down.

For a few seconds, nothing could be heard, but that soon ended as screams of joy and happiness emerged from the crowd, all calling the names of the emperor and the masked knight.

It was only when the rush of the event ended that Lelouch rose to speak again.

"My people, as I have said before, the Heavens themselves granted us justice. However we, as well, must honor such a display of loyalty and skill. Does anyone here doubt Sir Adam showed such qualities?" Silence was his response. "Then Sir Adam, by the power invested to me, I, Lelouch Vi Britannia, Absolute Emperor and Ruler of the Holy Empire of Britannia and all of its domains, declare the following: You shall receive the title and rank of Knight of Eight. So I have said and so it shall be!" Adam bowed to him as everyone cheered for the new Round.

"Let it also be known. This is only the beginning as there are still those who have not been brought to justice. I will not rest until true peace has been brought to this world! And so I say: All Hail Britannia!" the response he got was exactly the one he was wishing for.

"ALL HAIL LELOUCH! ALL HAIL LELOUCH! ALL HAIL LELOUCH! ALL HAIL LELOUCH! ALL HAIL LELOUCH! ALL HAIL LELOUCH! ALL HAIL LELOUCH!"

It was only later, when every single person had left the Colosseum, that "Adam Smith", in a Knight of the Rounds clothes joined the Emperor in his private booth.

Without sparing a glance, Lelouch signed for the man to follow him. Only their steps could be heard as they moved to their destination. However, before they could reach it, someone stopped then.

"I never get tired of saying this; you really do have a flair for the dramatics. You should have been an actor, not an Emperor." C.C appeared, quickly moving closer to him, the three of them all alone, saved from the royal guards who remained in the shadows.

"Well, I hope to have entertained you a least for a little bit my dear witch" Lelouch smiled at her.

"By the way, a question: why did you forbid official recordings? I mean, I must have seen at least a hundred people recording everything on their phones."

"If it went live, the UFN would try to stop the event, demanding a public trial for Suzaku. Now, if anyone tries to complain, not only they will incite the people's rage as swift justice was applied, but also it will implied Britannia's traditions as country are being dishonored which will cause… "

"A diplomatic incident. Not bad Boya."

"I live to please. Also, by public announcing we had captured Suzaku, we not only put fear in all the countries that feared the "white reaper", but also appealed to the people who had lost someone to the F.L.E.I.J.A."

"So Kururugi Suzaku is really officially dead?" She raised an eyebrow at him.

"Oh, but of course, the enemy of the world is no more. The nightmare is over."

"And the body?"

"It will be burned, so his body may never have the right to rest in the same place as the brave warriors who gave their lives for noble causes."

"Which, of course, will stop any unwanted people checking to see if it was truly him?"

"A shame don't you think?"

"Well, it is a shame indeed. I do believe you have impressed me enough for today. I will let you go back to your original objective." With a wink, she began to move, a group of guards following her, leaving him and his new knight.

"Is she there?"

"But of course, still waiting for her knight in shining armor." And with these words, she took a turn to the right and was gone from his view.

He shook his head once and returned to his way until he reached a door of another private booth. With a single glance, he ordered the masked knight to remain outside and entered the room.

Inside what awaited him was a dark room, barely illuminated by a chandelier. In the middle of it, two chairs stood. One which was previously occupied by C.C he believed and the other holding a very pale Euphemia.

He moved to his side, hugging her, making sure her head was near his heart. The sound of it was able to calm her as by the woman own words. It was the first time he didn't see her trembling. A testament to her mental fortitude.

They stood there for a few minutes, simply enjoying the peace and quiet which was so rare. With a sigh, knowing what she had to do, she let him go, taking his hand to stand.

"You do know you don't have to do this." Lelouch tried to reason with her.

"But I do. It is the only way that I, no that we can move forward." She smiled at him, squeezing his hand.

With a sigh, he ordered Adam Smith to enter.

"Bow your head. Keep your eyes to the ground and Remove your mask." He did as ordered. With a click, the mask opened, revealing the face of the recently deceased Kururugi Suzaku.

It took all of her willpower, but Euphemia managed to not break into a panic attack. The warmth and support she was feeling from holding Lelouch's hand was certainly helping.

She took a deep breath, controlling her trembling and finally managed to look at the Japanese without flinching.

"I don't know if you can hear or understand me, but I wanted you to know that I won't ever forgive you. You are going to pay for your crimes now and until the end of your days. What you did can't ever be forgiven." She was shaking, but not out of fear, but anger.

"From now on, you are nothing to me. I won't allow you to have any sort of control over me. This is goodbye Suzaku. For what is worth, your services as my knight of honor have officially ended." Her tone one of pure finality.

"Adam, put the mask and leave, wait for me outside." Lelouch who was watching everything only talked when he was sure she was done.

"Yes Your Majesty." The knight replaced the mask and left the room. The moment he left, Euphemia broke down in tears.

"Shh, it is ok; I know how hard it must have been for you." However the pinkie denied. "These are tears of happiness. I, for the first time, in a long time, feel free."

"Thank you Lelouch, for attending to my requests. I have been pretty selfish these days."

"Nonsense, I would do anything for you Euphie." The Emperor vehemently denied.

"Then, can I please have one last selfish request?" her eyes were glowing with expectation.

"Anything. Anything you want" He immediately responded.

"Please, allow me to see you in your quarters tonight. After your work is done for the day. I – I have something very important to talk with you."

"Euphie I simply don't know when I will be done with today's tasks, it can go well into the dawn…" Euphemia wouldn't take that.

"I can wait, I waited for so long. What are a few more hours?"

"If that is your wish then who am I to deny you?" it was worth it, for he was rewarded with the most beautiful smile that had ever graced her face, his heart beating fast.

"Oh Lelouch, thank you." She hugged him and he spun her around, influenced by her happiness.

"Well, my lady, shall we go?" He offered his arm, which she gladly took it.

"Yes my hero, let's go." And arm in arm, they left the barely illuminated room. To greet the light of the outside.

Imperial Capital – Emperor's Quarters – Much much later

He was late. He knew that. However, the ambassador of Euro Britannia simply wouldn't let him go, as he wanted to make sure everything was perfect for Grand Duke Velaines's arrival. It was way past midnight when he approached his room, sleep fast claiming his conscious self. He was sure Euphemia was already sleeping. They would talk in the morning.

However, any drop of drowsiness was instantly blown away when he entered his room and was welcome by a sight straight out of a fairy tale. Euphemia was at his balcony, dressed in a simple white nightgown, the light moon shining on her pale skin, the stars like little diamonds adorned her hair, making it shine. She looked like the queen of fairies Titania herself. Nevertheless, all of that was gone the moment she turned around, recognizing him, showing the purest of smiles.

"You came! I knew you would!"

Suddenly, Lelouch was a boy once again. In one of the grand balls in the Aries palace. Bored out of his mind, he saw her for the first time. Standing alone away from the adults, shy, with a pink dress that only highlighted her hair, was Euphemia. The young boy felt his pulse rise; his heart beat faster, unknown feelings filling his chest.

He invited her for a dance, hands trembling. The relief and happiness he felt when she accepted with a smile could not be put into words. And so, they danced, much to the delight of the adults around them who considered them such a sweet couple.

His mother and Cornelia had found then soon after, finding the scene so precious that they had let them dance for a while, until, of course, they were interrupted by two very angry young girls known as Milly and Nunnally.

The feelings he experienced during their dance were never ever forgotten.

And now, he stood before her, feeling shy, afraid to speak a single word and break the magic of such a moment. What he didn't know was that the other part was feeling just as much strong emotions.

'Maybe this nightgown wasn't the best idea. No, Euphie, you have to be strong, you only have one shot at this.' She thought as she fidgeted with the tip of her clothe.

"E-Euphie, you look…beautiful." His honest compliment almost made the pinkie a stuttering mess, but she managed to keep it under control.

"Thank you Lelouch. You look dashing as well." She said, making the boy blush as he joined her in the balcony.

They enjoyed the night view in a comfortable silence. The lights of the capital diminishing around them as if to give them privacy.

"You know, somehow, tonight I am remembered of the first time we met." She said, looking at him. The view all but forgotten.

"I was thinking just the same. You were so shy at that ball." They laughed and began retelling stories of their childhood.

"I think it was at that time, when you offered your hand at Lady Marianne's ball and asked me to dance, pushing me away from that terrible son of Marquis Valon that I knew." She whispered, but not low enough for Lelouch to no hear.

"Know what?" He remembered that. Euphie was feeling uncomfortable, being harassed by the arrogant little bastard who wanted her to dance with him. Cornelia was busy, making sure the guards were at their respective places so he had to be the one to act.

She turned to him, eyes shining, grabbing his hand.

"That I love you as a woman loves a man, not as a sister loves a brother." Time stopped, the palace, the stars, and the moon were gone. None of that mattered. Everything was those few little words he had just heard.

Lelouch could not, for the life of him, process what he had just heard. He had his suspicions of course, but he never, in a million years, thought, even is his wildest dreams, that they could be true.

His silence however, was beginning to unnerve the woman next to him.

"E-Euphie, I… We can't" The response that came after a terrible silence almost broke her, but she had to be strong. It was not over yet. She wouldn't allow herself to cry yet.

"If it is about us being half-siblings, society won't care. Britannian royalty has performed these kinds of marriages for generations. And does it really matter with what we feel about each other is true?"

"It is not that." He averted her eyes, but she forced him to look at her.

"Then why? Did you never see me as more than a little sister? Is that it?" she begged for answers.

"No, I… you were my first love Euphie." The happiness she felt was swiftly shadowed by the fact his eyes looked so sad.

"Then why won't you accept what we both feel about each other. I know you feel the same even now. I know! I can feel it!"

"I KILLED YOU!" There that was the truth. Lelouch could not, would not forgive himself for what he had done. He put his hand in the place he had shot at, feeling the scar. "I destroyed your dreams, I crushed your plans of peace, I, in cold blood, took your life. How can I deserve your love?" he tried to let go, to flee, but he was soon unable as she grabbed him, both hands on his face, and kissed him on the lips.

He soon felt something salty and realized Euphemia was crying.

Their kiss lasted a few seconds, when the girl calmly moved her face away.

"That was my first kiss you know? I was always dreamed it would be with you. I am happy that it was." She held one of his hands, brushing a few stray strands of hair from his face. Confusion consumed Lelouch's eyes. How could she kiss him, after everything he had done to her?

"I love you and nothing is going to change that. I know that you always be the kind, soft boy which I fell for. The boy who would become the enemy of the world if that brought peace to it. And, above all, I know that you didn't want to do any of these things. Please, don't tell me you could have said or done something different. It was all within Father and V.V's monstrous plans. You have made mistakes Lelouch, but so have us all. That is what being human is all about." She began to clean the tears the man was spilling, feeling like he was being forgiven for his sins."

"I, Shirley, Rivalz, Luana, Jeremiah, C.C, Marrybell, Anya, Monica, Rolo, Cecile, even Lloyd and everyone else wouldn't be here if we didn't think you were a good person and what you are doing is right. Your path may be full of thorns, but we know that, in the end, you only want peace." She hugged him, brushing her hand through his hair.

"Lelouch, you, no, we deserve to be happy. And my happiness is by your side, so please let me be here by your side. I will always forgive you." She herself began to cry. "With that said, I-I will understand if you still don't want to reciprocate these selfish feelings of mine. I will need some time but I think that…." She didn't finish as Lelouch's lips crashed with hers, she melted into the kiss, her arms hugging his back for dear life.

It was only when the need for air became desperate they let go of each other, panting, faces flushed.

As she recovered, she felt Lelouch's arms involve her, his words soft as silk.

"If you are happy with me, then I will spend the rest of this life of mine to make sure you only know happiness." She gave him a brief kiss as a response, nothing more than a sweet touch, but the emotions were conveyed.

"I don't think I can be happy with someone else at this point. Please, allow me to be with you forevermore Lelouch." He touched her scar, and promised.

"Then, as Lelouch Vi Britannia, I vow to be with you for as long as we live, never shall I betray you."

"And I, Euphemia Li Britannia, vow to accompany you in whatever path you stride to the end of our days. Be it heaven or hell, I will not ever move my hand against you."

"I love you Euphie, my angel."

"And I love you Lulu, my knight." And so they kissed once again. To them, the outside world didn't matter at all, for they were fulfilling the deep desire that came from both hearts.

As the kiss deepened and demon and angel moved out of the balcony and into the room to further their love and passion, they were unable to know that a witch was just outside the door and had heard almost everything.

"Well, well, well, congratulations little Euphie, I guess you did get what you wanted. I will be sure to tease you merciless from now on. For now, I will let them have their fun." C.C was sporting a feral grin; the competition for her man's heart had truly begun in earnest.

As she distanced herself from the quarters, moving to the one she had asked to be prepared for the night, she stared beyond the windows, where she knew the island country known as Japan was located.

"Better make a decision soon Kallen, or there will be nothing left for you." The witch entered her room and with a soft click, closed the door; her last words, hanging in the air, weren't heard by a soul.

This is it, longest chapter i have ever written. I can't even remember how i wrote all of this, but i did it. Anyway, please leave a review if you can, i always want to know what you think about each chapter.

About this one, i don't know if people will actually read to this point, i want to make relationships more dynamic. One problem with harems is if you don't take care, every heroine simply becomes the same one dimensional character. I made that mistake before and i intend to correct it. Euphemia was proof of this as i tried to not only show how she reacted to Suzaku and her family, but move from her past, keeping the feelings she held for Lelouch (which i always thought were alrealdy pretty strong, since i saw her fot the first time in the anime) and Nunnally.

Oldrin was also one i tried to develop since not only she is an incredible character but also i had to explain how she was still with Marrybell since in the manga they part ways (I don't know alll details, the manga was never fully translated). Maybe it would be better if i had made an interlude, but it just didn't seem right to me. Well more content for you i guess.

P.S: In case you have missed it, The jewel box Euphemia mentions it, is the same as the one in chapter six. Just making sure you remember.

By the way, anyone noticed something... strange in this chapter? No, well, then i guess you will probably notice as we move on.

The only other point i would like to discuss is Nunnally's apparent death. Is she truly gone? Lelouch and Euphemia certainly seem to believe so, at least the two of them. This is already taking so many proportions, i was maybe expecting 10 to 12 chapters. However, all the drafts i made these past few years made this story grow so much i can't even see the finish line anymore. Well, better get to writing i guess.

Not now though, eyes and fingers hurt. I have an 12 hour shift at the hospital for everyday of this week and the next. Gosh, i need to sleep or coffe.

Finally, take care of yourselves out there. Stay safe, please.

From someone who cares,

Emperor's ally.
