Wannabe, Maybe

She calls him a wannabe scientist. He calls her an anomaly. And they're both right. They've both fallen out of the mould somehow.

But that's also just fine with them because normal is boring and they'd hate to be bored. She won't be able to beat up as many bad guys without two digimon by her side (and how fascinating that they're polar opposites, at that, like that little story about angels on the right and left shoulders being the good and the bad), and he won't be able to handle being friends with Taiga if he's as stiff and boring as the rest of his family.

Granted, with his marks, he might not be making a professor level job anyway. But he's got the curiosity down pat, at least. And she's not going to be any world hero - she lacks the charisma Taiga screams of, and a certain level of teamwork - but she's a good anti or observer or sniper or even just someone eye-catching and a keeper.

And she comes back to speak with him, even if it's just to trade insults, and her guardian angels just watch with amused looks and Gaomon hasn't been goaded into punching the living daylights out of them so all of that must mean something. Maybe.
