Summary: Harry's trial before fifth year goes differently because someone knows more than they should about Harry. Time Travel Fic.
It was mid-evening and Harry was sitting on the couch in the living room of the Diagon Alley Apartment when Amelia entered. Hogwarts had been back for two weeks, with Harry and Amelia moving back to their Apartment as soon as Susan and Hermione were on the train.
Unsurprisingly, given what had happened during the final speeches, Amelia had gotten the job of Minister, with Rufus Scrimgeour taking over as Director of the DMLE. Amelia looked exhausted and pale. She had been working more overtime in the last week than she had as Director of the DMLE, often leaving before he was awake and not returning until well after their usual dinner time.
"That bad, Lia?" Harry asked.
"Dealing with all the crap Fudge left." Amelia replied as she set down her bag and hung up her coat. "I managed to re-hire almost half the Magical Civil Servants who were the Minister's staff prior to Fudge, but…"
Amelia had been walking over towards the couch and was just sitting down, still speaking, when her eyes rolled back into her head and she dropped like a stone into the couch next to Harry.
"Lia!" Harry said in a panic. "Come on Lia, wake up."
After a few minutes of shaking Amelia to wake her, Harry picked Amelia up in his arms and Apparated to St Mungo's Hospital.
"Healer! We need a Healer here!" Harry shouted as he approached the main desk.
Harry was sitting on the hospital bed, back up against the headboard, while Amelia was curled up lower down the bed with her head on his lap. She had awoken ten minutes earlier, and both of them were extremely worried. The door opened and a Healer walked in with a clipboard in hand.
"Miss Amelia Bones?" the Healer asked.
"Misses Amelia Bones-Tenor." Amelia corrected, smiling up at Harry despite her drawn face.
"Um, yes." The Healer said distractedly. "We have determined why you passed out. You have depleted levels of certain minerals and vitamins. Coupled with the lack of sleep, the extreme work load you reported and your current condition, your body was pushed to the limit and let you know it. We have potions that will raise your vitamin and mineral levels back to normal levels, ones safe for women in your situation."
"Her situation?" Harry asked. "What condition?"
The Healer looked up in surprise, running a hand through his thinning hair.
"You don't know?" He asked, confused. "I thought you knew and that's why you rushed her in."
"I rushed her in because Lia has never fainted or passed out before." Harry replied, as Amelia patted his hand in a soothing manner.
"Sorry, I just…." The Healer said. "Amelia is approximately ten weeks pregnant."
"I never… we are… what if…." Amelia began muttering.
"Shh." Harry said to calm her. "We'll get through it this time."
Harry looked up at the Healer, with hard eyes.
"Who is your best expert on Pregnancy?" Harry demanded.
"That would be… Healer Andromeda Tonks." The Healer replied.
Harry simply nodded to the Healer, who backed out of the room leaving them alone.
"Good morning, Minister." Helena Marsden said as Amelia walked in, with a younger man beside her.
Helena Marsden was the head of the Magical Civil Servants who had previously worked in the Minister's Office, been 'fired' by Fudge and had agreed to return when the new Minister had taken office. Before Fudge, Helena had been the second highest ranking Civil Servant.
"Helena, this is my Husband, Professor Tenor." Amelia said. "Harry, this is Helena Marsden, head of Ministerial Staff."
"Pleasure to meet you, Professor." Helena said.
"You too. Lia, I'll be with you in a moment." Harry said.
Amelia nodded and entered into her new office, then Harry turned to Helena.
"Miss Marsden, we have just received some information. Amelia is pregnant and the Healer said she is not to overly exert herself. I want you to make sure she does not take on too much here. I know things have been hectic, with fixing up Fudge's mess, but it would be appreciated if you and your staff would take on as much of the workload as possible. I am not saying keep her out of the loop, just make sure she does not come in too early and work back late." Harry said.
"It is our job to support the Minister in any way possible." Helena said. "It is our pleasure to serve."
Susan and Hermione were sitting in the DADA Classroom, waiting for the class to start. There was some muttering as the class was supposed to start five minutes ago and Harry was never late for class.
"Do you know any reason the Professor is late?" Hannah asked both Susan and Hermione, both of whom shook their heads.
When the door opened, the entire class turned expecting Professor Tenor, but Professor Dumbledore was standing at the door and he entered the classroom.
"Good morning Class." Dumbledore said. "Professor Tenor will not be in today, so I will be taking the class today."
"Professor, do you know why Professor Tenor will not be in today?" Hermione asked.
"I believe it is a personal matter, Miss Granger." Dumbledore replied. "Now, today we will be looking at something a little beyond the normal scope of the DADA Class. We will be looking at Combat Transfiguration."
Dumbledore spent the lesson first having them brainstorm a few ways to use transfiguration in combat and then showed them a few tried and true 'classic' combat transfiguration tactics. Hermione's favourite was the one to turn the ground into tangling vines while Susan preferred one that created a wave of daggers to cast at the enemy. Personally, Susan blamed her aunt for that.
At the end of the lesson Dumbledore dismissed the class but asked Susan and Hermione to stay behind.
"Miss Bones, Miss Granger. Professor Tenor did ask me to give you a message." Dumbledore said. "Miss Bones, last evening your aunt collapsed when she arrived home. She is fine, absolutely fine. But the Healers did discover she was pregnant. Congratulations."
Both Susan and Hermione took a moment for that to process and then a smile breaks across their faces. As Dumbledore closes the door, he can hear squeals of joy from the two students.
