Preface

Before I begin my first longer story, I want to use this first page to say a few words for anyone who begins reading this. I also offer my consolations for anyone who expected the story to commence immediately after the first click. This preface serves as my foundation and my motivator to eventually initiate.

This story is going to be an expanded version of the original Prince of Persia game from the year 1989. I have played it as a child, along with several of the adaptations and seen the 2010 movie, but I'm afraid that the progenitor lacks its progenies' recognition visible here. I realized that when I happened to regain my interest in the game. While making reconnaissance, I became aware of the different versions that had been made of the game, in particular the Sega CD and Sega Genesis versions.

As I write over time, I'll be following the original plot while using elements from different versions of the game and my own additions. This project will last many months or even several years, because I want both to balance my real life affairs and do proper research regarding the plot. This may sound disappointing, but know this: this story WILL be complete, no matter how long that may take. So please be patient and harvest the crop as it ripens.

Thank you. Lastly, here are several Arabic poems loaned from the WordPress blog of Mohammed Jehan Khan: Beautiful Arabic/Middle Eastern (Persian, Turkish) Poetry Collection - with English Translation (posted on April 13, 2015). They serve to bring inspiration on what you might read about my take on the original Prince of Persia.

No sadness lasts forever, nor any felicity,

Nor any state of poverty or one of luxury.

If you are the owner of a heart that is content,

Then you and the owner of the world are equivalent.

Imam Al-Shafi'ee

And from misery is that you love,

and (the one) who you love,

loves other than you,

or that you want good for a person,

and he wants to hurt you.

Imam Al-Shafi'ee

Oh, heart… do not go towards what is risky.

But if you will, then do not tremble.

Beware, there will be thieves on your path.

Be fearless of your enemies.

Waheed Qasimi

Verily the scholar is a scholar through his actions — A scholar is not a scholar because of his speech and quotes.

Similarly, the leader is a leader due to his character — A leader is not a leader because of his tribe or his men.

Similarly, the wealthy man is wealthy due to his self content — The wealthy man is not wealthy due to his possessions and his wealth.

Imam Shafi Rahmahumullah
