The start of the second semester came with its own problems. The first students from other academies, that is to say Haven, were understandably on edge. They learned that I was suspected of being CEMM's killer, and that no one else was powerful enough to do so, besides possibly Ozpin.

Speaking of Ozpin, he hasn't taken action against Haven's Headmaster, Leonardo Lionheart, yet. In fact, that was the reason I was in his office...

"What do you mean, 'not yet?' He has sent a full team comprised of an assassin's kid, a Fall Maiden, and a girl with ties to Roman fucking Torchwick!" I yelled, slamming my fist down onto Ozpin's desk, but without the force to level anything.

Ozpin glared cooly at me. "Jaune Arc, you will recognize the positions we both hold, and refrain from losing your temper. But to answer your question, I will need to explain several things to you; things I should have informed you of when you joined my group. Please, if you feel it prudent, ask any questions when they come to you.

"To put it plainly, centuries ago, I was known as The Wizard who gifted the Maidens with their powers, in an attempt to defeat an old... enemy of mine, an immortal woman named Salem. She has been cursed with immortality by the two Brothers Grimm, Gods of a long dead and obliterated era."

Not that far in and I had to interrupt him. "Professor, records say you're in your mid sixties, and became headmaster at twenty five," I started. "You haven't even been alive half as long as Professor Port, don't you think this talk of a long dead era is stretching it a small bit?"

Ozpin nodded. "You would be correct, this body hasn't been around for long, but my soul, my Aura has. Whenever I die, my soul is transferred to a like-minded youth. This endless cycle of birth and rebirth have been occurring for millenia."

"What happens to the people you reincarnate into?" I had to know. "What happens to their souls?"

Ozpin stayed silent. I was tempted to shatter his desk. If what he was implying was true...

"Ozpin, please tell me," I pleaded, trying to stay peaceful.

Ozpin rubbed his temples. "At first, it seemed like two people became one new person, but as time and lives wore on, I'm afraid to say I just... absorb them, barely noticing a difference other than a change of semblance.

"To be perfectly clear Jaune, I want to die, and I can't do that until Salem has been defeated. When that happens, I and all the men and women I have reincarnated into may find peace."

"It seems our headmaster talks with you quite often, Jaune," Ren commented as soon as I joined back with them in the cafeteria.

I shrugged. "He was curious of my Resemblance ability I used during the exams, and the implications of said ability." A damn lie, but far, far better than the truth.

"Fine, don't tell us," Pyrrha snapped quietly. Before I could say anything else, she left the table, and headed out of the cafeteria.

Nora nodded, and tossed one of her strawberries toward Yang, and Ren spoke up. "You have a bad habit of lying about your whereabouts, poorly I might add, and always resort to using an excuse involving Professor Ozpin."

"We also know you totally trashed Professor Port after the Leotine," Nora commented, throwing quartered apples at Yang.

Well, I can't rightly blame them for figuring that out. There were several holes in the building, and Port wore a multitude of bandages to class the next day.

"And," Nora continued at a whisper, "We know that wasn't you we were with the day Team CEMM died." Incredibly odd to hear Nora talk at a quiet volume. Her and Ren's faces betrayed little emotion... Oh, Ren was using his Semblance on her. She was about to toss a pancake at Yang too. Good save on Ren's part, syrup in Yang's hair could spell disaster.

"We have been patient with you, Jaune, but you do need to trust us or our teamwork will suffer," Ren stated flatly. "Your strength alone isn't enough to hold our team together."

And now he's gone, along with Nora, leaving me alone with Team RWBY on the next table over. They were talking about some plans to have fun with each other.

When was the last time JNPR went out for the express purpose of having fun? When we went to Tuckson's, it was just to get me stronger, when we fought the Leotine was to get me use to my newfound power...

Good god, not a single thing revolved around the team. Some leader I am.

I didn't bother attending Glynda's class. Neo was going to test everyone's overall skill, finally pulling her weight as Glynda's assistant I may add, so I figured I could just leave. Sure some students from the other schools made a fuss, but I really didn't need to be there, and I had to talk with Ozpin.

My trek to the esteemed headmaster's office, however, was halted by a group of four boys my age.

Name: Sun Wukong
Age: 17
Race: Faunus (Monkey)
Title: Monkeys and Typewriters

Name: Scarlet David
Age: 17
Race: Human
Title: Bloody Baron

Name: Sage Ayana
Age: 17
Race: Human
Title: Boulder

Name: Neptune Vasillias
Age: 17
Race: Human
Title: Dry Guy

From what Observe was telling me, these guys were Team SSSN (Sun) led by the sole Faunus of them. Sage had the most levels out of the four, and was certainly the most intimidating of them, standing at way taller than me, with his chest and abs on full display to the world. Wonder what Yang would think of him.

Scarlet, while the thinnest and shortest of them, did his best to seem intimidating. Beside Sage though?

Neptune was by far the best dressed, and exuded pure, masculine charm.

Their leader, Sun, was just as bare chested as Sage, and was the one blocking my path the most, standing in front of me with his arms crossed.

And they were from Haven.

"I don't have time for this," I state plainly. I had dealt with about one Haven team a day since they landed, and it was painfully obvious that SSSN wanted their shot at roughing me up. I pulled out a plain, iron mace from my inventory, and pointed it toward Team SSSN. "So why don't you just get this over with and knock yourselves out?"

Sage shook his head, and brandished his weapon, a truly large - monumentally so even - greatsword from a clasp on his back. "We all know you killed Team CENM. So we won't bother interrogating you."

His voice his smooth, deep, and steady. Really gives you the sense that he would be a great voice actor. Kinda want his voice. Maybe I could practice copying it? Shouldn't be too hard, considering my sensory skills.

"What we will do," That was Scarlet. Kinda nasally sounding. Similar to some fisherman village accents now that I think about it. "Is I'm going to... Are you even paying attention!?"

I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Let me guess, you," I pointed to Sage, "are going to beat me down into the floor. You," Sun, "are going to go ham with those... Are those gunchucks?! Whatever they are, you're going to get some several dozen combo on my back while Big Boy Green Hair is wailing on me. That leaves you," Scarlet, "to chop at my joints with that cutlass of yours, and Mister Pretty Boy," Neptune, "to shoot me with... Neat, a charge rifle."

The four boys hesitated for a moment, and I took that moment to try a little something. I started charging a Mana Spot - WOW it's been a while since I used that thing - and tried having it spawn over my head.

Performing a special action has created Skill - Bullet Mana Mass

Bullet Mana Mass LV 1: Deals 15 non-elemental DMG per Bullet
Casting: Mental Command
Casting Time: Special - (10/Base INT) 1 Seconds per Bullet
Bullet: Sphere, 2cm Radius, 75m per sec
Number of Bullets: 1/5 your base INT (Rounding Down)
Cost: 25 MP per Bullet

Neat. So yeah, let's cast that with ten bullets around me. While it would be awesome if it scaled to final INT, ten bullets dealing damage that scales according to over 150 INT is pretty good.

"Whenever you're ready," I say, spawning the bullets in an arch over my head... This is like the Dark Souls Soulmass spells.

Bibliography has activated! Enjoy a 10% reduced Cost to your new skill!

Cool. Not that I needed the mana cost reduction, but...

Oh, the bullets already launched. And they're all on the floor as a result.

"You guys done?" I ask in a bored manner, mostly due to... well... I'm bored. The last thing that made me go negative on my resources was punching Cinder's head off, and that was because I stacked an unholy amount of skills on top of themselves, not because she fought back. "Because I would appreciate if I could get going."

Sun was the first to get back up, looking a little worse for wear but not really out of it. The rest of his team were faring just as well. Looks like I need to actually up my INT when I get time, maybe some magic-boosting passives.

"Like hell we're done here!" The Monkey Faunus shouted, pointing... his gunchucks turn into a staff? Ruby would have a field day over this. "You aren't so tough, and that amount of power has to have taken a lot of Aura. Bet you weren't expecting the best team at Haven to take you down!"

I readied my mace. "If you say so."

Sage swung at me in an uppercut fashion, probably aiming to have my body bisected from my crotch upwards. So, activating Cuts and Bruises, that's just what happened. May as well give them a bit of a scare. The left side of my body fell forward, getting innards and blood on Sage's bare chest, while the right side crumpled to the ground.

Considering my sensory skills were always active, I felt every bit of it, and let me just say I really shouldn't be feeling this good about being chopped in half. I don't know why, but being cut in half made me feel more alive than I had in months. Am I just that used to being invincible?

Eh, it didn't last anyways, so no use fussing over it. My body reformed in less than half a second. I reformed from the right side, so Sage was still holding half of a dead body.

So, getting up from the floor and dusting myself off, I praised my skill for reforming clothes. Getting chopped in half otherwise would be more annoying.

SSSN was, reasonably in shock. Sage likely thought my massive reserves (which have been somewhat recorded may I add) would protect me from being cut in half.

"At least take me to dinner first," I joked as Sage still hasn't dropped the half corpse. The other three stared at me.

"You're... You're a monster," Was Neptune's eloquent, stuttering response. But, they did stop bothering me in favour of consoling Sage, leaving me to continue to head to Ozpin's office.

Finally.

"That was unacceptable Jaune," Ozpin growled, standing behind his desk as I entered. "While I do understand that they came to you like all the other teams from Haven, this is the one fight that you started, and one that may leave four of Haven's most promising Huntsmen traumatized."

I shrugged. "I really don't care, professor, I came to you to talk about something important. My team-"

Ozpin cut me off with both is words, and the sound of his mug being crushed in his hand.

"Your team suspects you of killing CENM, I am fully aware of that. There is not a thing in this academy that happens that I am not privy to. What you don't seem to realize is that your team is not the only thing that matters. Without you, they could easily still become a valued and powerful team of Hunters. But Team SSSN? There is a real possibility that this will make them hang up their weapons for good. That's four less individuals, powerful ones I may add, to fight Salem with." Ozpin sat back down, and rested his head in his hands.

"For the foreseeable future, you will not be going on any team missions. You will not be permitted to fight any individual, be they student, teacher, visitor, or even a squirrel. You are not to fight any Grimm without my express consent. The only fighting you will be allowed to do is during the Vytal Festival, and that is only because too much funding and time has been spent advertising you," Ozpin stated cooly, staring me down. "Failure to comply will result in you being reported to the Mistrailian authorities as Team CENM's killer, as was suspected. Am I understood?"

I crossed my arms. "You need me too much in the fight against Salem to even be making idle threats we both know you won't go through with. Do you even have a plan on killing an immortal?" I demanded angrily.

Ozpin remained silent, glaring at me.

That was all the answer I needed. "You have been around for millenia, possess horrific amounts of power, have had the ideas and thoughts of hundreds -if not thousands- of people, and you haven't thought of a single way to actually beat Salem!?"

Ozpin remained silent.

"I'm sure Qrow and Glynda would love to hear this. The man they have followed for years can't think of a single way to remove Salem from Remnant!"

"She cannot die!" Ozpin yelled back. Were those... tears forming on his eyes? My vision is by far the greatest on the planet, but I had some trouble believing it.

I slammed my hand onto his desk, forming cracks in the glass piece of furniture. "Not once did I say kill! Let me get strong enough, and I can single handedly throw her into space. As immortal as she may be, she is still made of physical matter. I don't think I could do anything about being in space, if what Atlas is reporting is true and there's no air, or any matter to speak of up there, combined with the ungodly low temperature.

"She'll be alive, and there would be nothing she can do about it."

Ozpin hid his face behind his hands. That salty scent... He was crying.

"I don't believe you know exactly what you have just promised me, Jaune," While he was crying, his voice didn't betray it. Years of experience, I suppose.

"But you will not engage in any more fights," Ozpin stated, after a moment of coming to terms of what I would assume is the 'end game.' "Do not mistake my gratitude for acceptance of you traumatizing other Hunters. I will, however, let you free reign of Grimm slaying, so long as you behave as a proper student. That includes returning to Glynda's class. You have about half an hour left to the period, if I recall."

Short, but it exists. New season of RWBY is AWESOME so far. Deep lore, deepest lore, and Salem is like 10/10 on my MILF-O-METER
