A/N: I know this is getting repetitive, the Authors Notes but I just want to say sorry for this chapter. It, in my opinion, isn't as great as my others and I was reluctant to release it but just know that this is kind of a draft. The points in the story remain but overall, the wording should be improved later on to match the writing style of Rick Riordan a lot better. I'll do that soon.

MAGNUS POV

I felt the spear before I saw it. A loud crackling noise ambushed my ears as I was struck in the back, the armour I was wearing padded the impact of the massive, enchanted blade. Scorching, white-hot pain struck my every nerve and I was blinded by the feeling of electricity coursing through my body. I stood there, dazed and unable to see the person who had attacked me. Then, with a yell, I was sent into the ground by another smack from someone's shield.

'Boss? You alright?' Jack asked. His voice sounded so far away.

'Boss… Boss?' I stared at the stars above, or maybe they were the ones clouding my vision and my ability to see. My vision blurred and the darkness began to close in.

"So, this is the new kid? Looks like a runt." A figure holding a glowing red spear loomed over me. As my vision focused in on them, I could make out the red plume and strands of red hair hanging loosely over her face. It was the red haired girl from the red cabin Annabeth had been talking about. And about six other people.

"This blows." I groaned, struggling to get up. A foot was raised as one of the Ares kids tried to kick me back, but I was ready. Growing up in Boston, a lot of people tried to mess with the homeless. Some took it. Others rose to the occasion, which is what I was doing. Rising to the occasion to punch this jerk in the face. I grabbed their leg and launched off the ground with my feet. With a strangled yelp of surprise, the Ares kid fell onto his side. I fumbled with their helmet to pull it off and punched the kid in the face.

"Get the runt!" The red-haired girl yelled. I turned around to see two charging at me at the same time. I ducked under the swing of a sword, extending my body into a dive over another which had been aimed at my thighs. Landing with a roll, my hand found Jack's hilt and I lifted him up.

"You alright, Boss? That was a pretty hard hit you took." The sword said.

"Peachy." I replied.

"Well in that case, let's show these posers what happens when they mess with us, eh?"

"Lets." I uttered and charged at the two who had attacked me. The one closest aimed a stab at me. With help from Jack, I knocked his blade aside, keeping it locked onto mine. Pushing forward, our blades rang out as they grinded against one another until my blade was pressed against his crossguard. With a quick, fluid motion, Jack twisted and swerved around the other kid's sword and unlatched it from his grasp, launching it aside.

"No hard feelings darling, right!?" Jack called out to the sword as it slammed into the water.

"Focus, Jack!" I yelled as I narrowly avoided another stab attempt from the other Ares child, I quickly moved Jack's flat around and smacked them in the gut, sending them back a few steps.

The one I had disarmed used this as a distraction and went in for a tackle. With a yell, I prepped my sword, the flat end facing them as they charged

"MOOKIE BETTS SPECIAL, COMIN' UP!" I yelled. Then I swung the sword around. A loud, metallic CLANG rang out and echoed through the forest. The camper fell, holding their helmet as it continued to whine like a gong.

"OUTTA the park!" I screamed, almost celebrating, before remembering that there were still 6 enemies left. I turned in time to parry a strike from Clarisse, electricity still running up and down my arm. Jack forced his way along the shaft of her weapon, before catching in a notch of the wood.

'Take this, ya' freak." Jack yelled in my head, but I wasn't sure if he was talking to Clarisse or her spear. Almost instinctively, I leant against Jack, forcing her spear to swing to the side, slipping from her grip. The spear clattered against the ground and I slammed Jack's hilt against the bridge of her nose. With an enraged cry of pain, Clarisse stumbled back and fell in the creek with her half-sibling's sword.

"How's that for a runt, huh? That's how we do it in Boston!" I yelled, waving my arms out. I began moving them closer together to flash a less-than-outstanding gesture to her, but was launched back by a burst of intense wind. I hit the tree with a smack- and landed on the floor with a loud huff.

"Oh, man… It's him." I uttered as I opened my eyes to see who had attacked me. Jason looked at me, apologetic.

There was a loud, deafening 'KA-KRAKK' as a blinding light filled my eyes, blinding me. Jack moved my hand up to block a strike from a sword, but I couldn't see.

"Autopilot, boss?" Jack yelled.

"Autopilot." I choked. Jack began moving my arm for me, blocking and parrying strikes left and right, up and down. I could hear the clang of metal against metal. But soon my arm began to grow tired- and it didn't look like this guy was going to give up.

Jason pushed me backwards, against the tree. His attacks were tightening my defense and not giving Jack enough room to breathe.

"How do you like it!?" I yelled. Sunlight poured from my now outstretched hand, blinding Jason for a moment. The demigod stumbled back, his relentless assault on Jack pausing for a moment. I stepped back, taking a breather as well.

"What are you doing? Keep going!" Clarisse cried, charging. She picked up her spear, launching forwards. Her speartip lead her attack. With a desperate swing, I narrowly knocked the attack aside. Clarisse continued to press forward, swinging her spear's handle into the side of my helmet. She stood side-on, smacking my gut with the back-end of her spear. I grunted and wheezed as the breath was knocked from my lungs. She pivoted on a foot, standing opposite me, her spear sideways.

"Jack, help me out!" I stammered. But it was too late. Clarisse slammed the shaft of her spear against my face horizontally, shocking me and sending me onto my back. My head hammered the ground, my helmet ringing as it rolled off my head, letting my hair drape around my face. I stood up, looking at the regrouped Ares cabin and son of Zeus in front of me, ready to fight.

Then suddenly, there was a sudden, immediate silence. I winced as a loud crashing noise exploded all around me. The Ares children were flung back by some kind of force, like wind. No, not wind. Water. The water from the creek spiralled in beautiful, powerful spirals that radiated power and elegance.

Clarisse cried out, "NO," before being plunged by the moving water. Jason shook his hair, water being flung from the mop on his head.

"What was- was that me?" I asked.

"Nope. That was me." A voice answered. I spun around to see Percy standing behind me, completely dry.

"How-" I began. He cut me off.

"Not now, let's get moving. We'll need to go and storm the flag for ourselves. Both teams are smacking the freaking life out of one another." He said.

"What about the fire?"

"It was a diversion. They were going to plough through you and beeline for the flag. But they didn't think you'd be able to handle yourself the way you did. Mookie Betts special?" Percy added, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm a Boston boy at heart, Jackson."

"Don't follow the NBL. I'm more of an NBA fan." Percy uttered as we ran towards the Ares flag. "Nicks all the way." Percy said as the sounds of battle got louder. "We're almost there. Get your sword ready." I saw him clench his jaw.

I pulled Jack free from my neck, letting him extend to his true form.

"Annabeth?" Percy whispered.

"I'm here," a voice called out. I almost yelled out. I looked around but I couldn't see Annabeth. It was like a ghost who had her voice was talking. "Oh- sorry Magnus." She said, before materialising before us out of thin air. She tucked a Yankees cap in her back pocket.

"Not even going to ask." I whispered.

"So what's the plan?" Percy asked. Annabeth looked at the two guards. Behind them was a massive staff, with two poles branching out on either side. A crimson, silk emblem hung from each, both about the length of a fancy TV

"We don't really need a plan for two guys, seaweed brain." Annabeth remarked.

"I guess. But it's still important, kind of, right?" He said.

"Whatever, let's go." She said. And with that, we were charing towards the two, Annabeth in the lead. She struck the guy in front with the hilt of her dagger. Their head fell backwards and Annabeth slashed at their leg, causing them to fall on their side, unable to stand back up. Percy took the other one, knocking their blade aside, the point of his sword facing the ground as he swung. Percy stepped forwards, thrusting the handle of his sword into their face.

"Magnus!" He looked at me. "The flag!" I ran between them, grabbing the flag.

"Lets go." I said. I ran, the flag in one hand and Jack in the other, jumping over and ducking under the campers who were beating the snot out of each other. Before crossing the border. A horn sounded, echoing through the forest. Cheers exploded from the campers.

"Welp…" Percy said. "That's a win for the Poseidon Cabin. It's a nice change," Percy said, looking at the cheering assortment of Apollo and Annabeth children.

"Wait- that's it? Just past the border?" I asked.

"Yep. We won. Thanks to you-" As if on queue, I was grabbed from behind. I tensed my grip around Jack in anticipation of what was to come. At least until I started being bobbed up and down.

"New kid! New kid!" They cheered. I had survived Capture the Flag - and won the game for my team.

'All in all, not a bad first day,' I thought.

'Agreed, boss.' Jack said.
