Thomas, I have a plan that will blow Auntie Lou's socks off, but I need your help to make it work perfectly.
Anything you need, Uncle Will. You know you can count on me!
What is it?
Ok mate, you know how she's been feeling knackered lately? I want to cheer her up! What do you say?
I'm in! Got any ideas?
As a matter of fact, I do! Halloween is coming up, and I happen to know it's her favorite holiday. Soooo, I've been thinking ...
What? What?
How about you and I dress up as bumble bees and get a queen bee costume for Aunty Lou?
Awww, Uncle Will, but I wanted to go as Batman!
How about I make you a deal? Auntie Lou and I will take you around door to door trick or treating and you get to keep all the candy?
Will mummy find out?
Let me worry about convincing your mummy.
It's a deal then!
Don't say a word.
(Two weeks pass and all of the planning is complete. The costumes have been ordered and Will has ordered decorations for the house and has arranged for the men of the family to come and decorate. Will is concerned that Lou hasn't been herself and is tired and run down.)
Will phones Josie and arranges for Thomas to be dropped off at the annex so "operation bumblebee" can be put into motion. Nathan is there to help everyone get dressed.
Thomas arrives at the annex, acting covertly. Where's Auntie Lou?
She's at a doctor's appointment she scheduled for this afternoon. Everything has fallen into place perfectly. Your granddad and my dad are busy decorating outside. Let's get dressed.
Louisa arrives and finds the annex transformed-with spiderwebs and ghosts hanging around, tombstones on the front lawn, ghostly theme music. What's all this!? She can't find her husband anywhere and she's feeling surprised and elated by the day she's had...and apparently by the evening she's about to have.
Suddenly, Will and Thomas pop out of the master bedroom dressed as bumblebees and Will is holding a big box in his lap. The two boys shout, "surprise!"
What in the world? What did you boys go an do? Louisa couldn't help but giggle.
We wanted to surprise you and make your favorite holiday a happy one!
Well that, you have done!
Louisa had happy tears rolling down her cheeks. She was suddenly going through an emotional whirlwind. She could not believe how her day had transpired and had a huge amount to process.
Thomas broke her out of her spell by asking, "Do you like it Auntie Lou?"
Do I like it? I love it. Thank you. With that, she ran to Will's lap, kissed him deeply, stroked his cheek and said, "Will Traynor, you are the best husband a girl could ever ask for and the greatest daddy in the world."
Will smiled at his wife with his deep dimples then paused with a puzzled look on his face.
What did you just say?
That you're the best husband and greatest daddy.
Will wrinkles his eyebrows and asked, "Are you saying what I think you are saying?"
Yes love, the doctor just solved the mystery of why I've been feeling so sick lately! We're having a baby!
Now it was Will's turn to have happy tears covering his cheeks. Louisa wiped his tears and leaned in for another kiss. Thomas cleared his throat to remind them he was there. Will pulled away from the kiss and said, "Louisa Traynor, you really are something else."
And so are you Will Traynor.
Thomas piped in, Uncle Will, give Auntie Lou her other surprise. So Will handed Lou the box and to her surprise, it was a Queen Bee costume.
Will laughed and said, "never in my wildest dreams would I ever have imagined that I'd be sitting here dressed as a bumblebee when I'd get the news that I'm going to be a father." They all broke out laughing.
Louisa ran the the bedroom to change and returned bedecked as the chief of the hive and asked the boys to lead the way for the rest of their plans.
All three headed out the door, Thomas with a giant bag in hand, ready to conquer the candy!
