There wasn't a lot of traffic on their way to the port, so they arrived a little bit too early. Since they had no idea what they should do while waiting for the cruise to arrive and for them to be able to get on board, they decided to just take a seat in the waiting lounge and watch a few videos on Akari's phone.

But Nagisa wasn't able to enjoy any of these videos, frankly, he couldn't pay any attention to them. Akari and he were sharing a set of headphones so that they wouldn't disturb the other people around them which naturally resulted in Akari's face being fairly close to his while watching.

And Nagisa simply was never able to resist to just observe Akari while she was all concentrated and watching some videos with a faint smile on her face.

On top of that, with his sharpened senses from his assassin training, he was constantly assaulted with waves of negative emotions directed towards him and Nagisa knew exactly why.

Naturally, Nagisa didn't do anything to the people surrounding them, frankly, he didn't even look at them. But the existence of Akari right next to him was more than reason enough for all the single males around him to glare at him with a heavily salty aftertaste.

Dying her hair green didn't reduce any of Akari's beauty. While it did take away some of her more mature charms, the increase of her cute and innocent charms perfectly made up for that. And the fact that they had a matching pair of sunglasses sitting on their heads and a matching set of suitcases each with a huge heart and the first letter of their names written in it didn't help either.

What Nagisa didn't know was that Akari was getting these glares as well. While not as many as Nagisa, she was getting these salty and also sour looks not just because of Nagisa's looks, but mainly because of the way Nagisa was looking at her while she was watching the videos.

But as a rising star, these kinds of glares were nothing strange to Akari. She was getting these kinds of looks since she was a child, so she was completely accustomed to ignoring them. On the contrary, she was actually really happy when she was getting these kinds of looks because of Nagisa. It always made her feel warm and fuzzy inside.

"Huh?" Akari yelped quietly when Nagisa suddenly wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him. Slightly confused, Akari threw Nagisa a questioning look.

"Since I'm already getting covered in salt, I might as well do something to deserve it." Nagisa returned a slightly cheeky grin and replied.

"Pff…" Akari barely managed to keep her laughter in. She loved it when Nagisa showed his strangely childish side since it was usually hidden under his calm and collected nature, "Are you sure about this?" Akari suddenly stared him in the eyes and asked with a teasing tone that gave Nagisa goosebumps.

"Hmm? What do you…" before Nagisa could even finish his question, he felt an indescribably soft sensation on his cheek that left as quickly as it came. But even before he could come to enjoy that feeling, a cold shiver ran down his spine.

"Wow… there were some borderline killing intents mixed in these glares just now." Nagisa grimaced while giving Akari a harmless glare.

"Pff…hehehe." this time Akari started to giggle uncontrollably while letting herself completely lean onto Nagisa's shoulder. "Want me to stop?" Akari asked teasingly.

"Not in a lifetime." He just smiled and said softly while planting a kiss on her forehead.

Time went by fairly fast with the two of them just messing around. When the cruise has finally arrived, Nagisa and Akari were the first in line to go through the security check. And yes, they were both first in line because they were standing in separated lines.

"Good afternoon, may I have your passport please?" a young woman was at the counter and asked with a friendly smile on her face, "And ehmm ma'am, could you take off your sunglasses please?"

"Sure, ehh, but before I do that, could I ask you to remain silent please?" Akari smiled apologetically, "I don't want to cause a commotion."

"Huh?" the woman looked at Akari with a confused expression on her face.

"…Hah." Akari took off her sunglasses with a loud sigh revealing her large amber eyes, "Just, please?" Akari begged her with sad puppy eyes.

"Okay… Miss Yukimura… Aka…" the woman suddenly stopped in her tracks as she started to look between the picture on the passport and Akari repeatedly. "Y-you're…"

"Please?" Akari asked again helplessly. She was glad that Nagisa remembered and suggested that they should line up separately. If just seeing her here in line was causing this kind of reaction, she didn't want to know how the woman would react if she appeared here with a male friend with matching sunglasses and suitcases.

"S-sure." the woman forcefully calmed herself down, but her slightly shivering body still showed her excitement. "C-can you fill this out please?" the woman suddenly asked while returning Akari's passport along with a sheet of paper.

"Hmm? What is…?" Akari picked up the sheet of paper and flipped it around only to realize that it was blank. Realizing what was going on, a wry smile appeared on Akari's face as she awkwardly nodded and signed the blank sheet of paper before returning it.

"Thank you so much!" the young woman chirped with an excited smile, "Have a nice trip!"

"Thank you." Akari smiled as well and quickly walked away only to see Nagisa already waiting for her with a teasing grin on his face that was clearing emitting the message called it.

Boarding was slightly exhausting due to the massive amount of people taking this cruise. After already entering the ship, they still had to stand in a line to get their cardkeys for their room.

When they finally got their keys, Nagisa and Akari quickly went to the elevator and searched for their room. The room wasn't anything special but considering that it was a room on a cruise, it was fairly spacious. Apart from the 2 small beds in the room, there was also a wardrobe, a small TV and a bathroom. But the thing that got Akari the most excited was the balcony.

After putting down their suitcases, Nagisa turned on the TV according to an announcement made across the entire cruise. Sitting down on the same bed while leaning against each other, the young couple silently watched the security announcement that explained the behavior in case of an emergency and the structure of the ship.

When everything was finished, there was still some time left until dinner service would start so Akari suggested that they should take a stroll around the ship while checking out the facilities.

The ship was surprisingly large considering that it was only a one-night trip. There were both an indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fitness studio, a casino, and at least a dozen restaurants.

Of course, a single night was way too short to explore all of these facilities, but by seeing this Nagisa had already secretly decided that he was going to take Akari on a longer trip on a cruise when he had the chance.

As soon as the dinner service started, Nagisa and Akari went to the dining area and started to check out the restaurants one by one. The culinary styles were clearly divided, first, there was a Japanese, European and Chinese cuisine, as the largest three restaurants, and then there was a fast-food branch, a pizzeria, a ramen store, a shabushabu store, a bunch of snack stores and finally a buffet. The themes were heavily Asian focused, but I was only natural since it was merely a trip within the Japanese borders.

"Is the broth still not boiling?" Akari stretched herself onto the table lazily while complaining to Nagisa.

"Akari we just sat down 2 minutes ago." Nagisa smiled dotingly while reaching out for her hand and held it.

Because of the cold weather, Nagisa had suggested that should try out the shabushabu and Akari happily agreed saying that she hasn't had it for quite a while now.

"Shabushabu is a lot more fun when you have a large group after all." Akari muttered while scooping up a piece of tofu from the pot and placing it in her bowl, "Not that this is bad though." She smiled while leaning onto Nagisa's shoulder.

"It's been a while since we've met the rest huh?" Nagisa agreed with a gentle smile while wiping a tiny stain of sauce from the corner of her mouth, "But what can you do? Everyone is busy doing their own thing nowadays. It's actually getting really hard to find occasions and reasons to get everyone together again." He said with a silent sigh.

"…Yeah." Akari answered a bit absentmindedly.

"I pretty full already, how about…" Nagisa let himself fall back onto the couch while throwing a quick glance over to Akari only to find her breathing evenly with her head on his shoulder.

"Well… she did just come back from a shooting and neither of us did get any decent sleep last night." Nagisa chuckled to himself while silently calling one of the staff for the bill with his free arm.

"What do you say? Want to open your eyes now?" Nagisa chuckled silently while kissing Akari's ear after paying the bill and carrying her all the way back to their room.

"Aww, it's no fun when you notice it every single time." Akari pouted as she opened her eyelids revealing her beautiful amber eyes. "Can't you like, stop sensing my wavelengths?"

"It's not something I just activate and deactivate Akari." Nagisa smiled wryly, "It's just there."

"Hmpf, at least you didn't instantly put me down the second I woke up like the first time." Akari rolled her eyes and said.

"You're not ever gonna let me live that down, are you?" Nagisa sighed while gently putting her on her bed and tucking her in.

"Honestly… all you have to do is to act like you didn't notice that I woke up," Akari muttered with a pout and slight blush on her face.

"Hmm? What was that?" But Nagisa didn't catch that since he had already moved back to make his own bed.

"It's nothing, have a good night Nagisa, I'll see you tomorrow." Akari just shook her head and turned around to smile at him.

That was just how Nagisa was. Even after he had noticed that she has woken up, he had still carried her all the way back. But instead of simply putting her down and tucking her in silently, which would've made Akari's heart skip like crazy, he just had to tease her about her pretending to sleep.

Then again there were times where Akari felt like her heart was going to melt from the things he said to her. "Has anyone told you that you have a really inconsistent EQ?" Akari suddenly wondered and asked.

"Hmm? Not that I can remember." Nagisa replied while laying down on his own bed and looking at Akari, "Is that how it comes across to you?" he wondered.

"Pretty much," Akari said seriously but wasn't able to hide the wide teasing grin on her face.

"Ehh? Really? Hmm, I think I probably know why, but then again I don't think I can help it." Nagisa answered after giving it a little thought.

"Hmm?" Akari wasn't expecting that response.

"I mean, when I'm with you I'm permanently spending the entirety of my EQ on you, so you really can't blame me for taking a break every now and then." Nagisa smiled at her with a dotingly, which in combination made Akari's face heat up like crazy.

"I-I see." Akari muttered a bit nervously while desperately trying to avoid eye contact with Nagisa, "G-good night Nagisa."

"Yeah… have a good night Akari, sweet dreams." Nagisa quickly answered and turned off the lights before laying down again.

"Say… how do you feel about last night?" Nagisa gulped and asked nervously all of a sudden, after laying there for a couple of minutes in complete silence. "You know… sharing a bed and everything."

"W-what?" Akari, whose face was still slightly warm from before, stuttered a bit at the sudden random question Nagisa asked her.

"I mean… I." Nagisa hesitated a bit before taking a deep breath, "It actually felt really nice for me… falling asleep with you in my arms… waking up next to you in the morning… I… liked that."

"…" for a second Akari was unable to process the words coming Nagisa's mouth as her face that had barely started to cool down heated up again, "I… I liked it too." Akari muttered silently into her blanket before Nagisa abruptly jumped out of his bed suddenly making a huge ruckus, "Nagisa?" Akari asked a bit confused before sensing something hitting her bed.

She then heard now Nagisa went back into his bed, but this time the noise was a lot closer. Before she could make any sense out of everything, she subconsciously yelped and struggled a little when she felt herself getting pulled into a tight and warm embrace.

"Goodnight Akari." She heard Nagisa say again but this time the voice was right next to her ear, "I love you."

"… I love you too." The tension started to leave Akari's body when she realized what had just happened as a soft smile crept its way onto her face as she closed her eyes again, "I'll see you tomorrow."

It's been a REALLY long time since I've updated this story huh O.o … honestly, I can't even believe how long it has been since I've started writing on this site… which makes me feel terrible realizing that I have yet to finish a single story.

"4 years later" is one thing, this story wasn't created with the intention of writing a complete story to begin with. As some of you might remember, this initial one-shot came into existence because of some scraped ideas that would've been too sad to just toss away from my first piece "Last Assassination" but since a lot of you seemed to really enjoy the pure fluff, I decided to continue it.

But still, this is what this story is, a place where I can put some of my better ideas that didn't make it into the other stories. Which is also why this story will probably never be marked as complete unless I somehow manage to write their entire life till the very last moment. (Which I highly doubt =.=)

"Last Assassination" however… well, let's just be honest and say I realized that I've been letting it sit on the final arc for about 16 months now probably missing only around 10 chapters until it's completed.

I initially stopped because I felt like I wasn't ready to finish that story yet, I didn't want to ruin the story, that I had worked on more than 2 years back then, with an unsatisfying ending. Which is why I decided to take my mind off the matter for a short while and launch my other story "Land of Dragons" which I didn't plan on starting before finishing "Last Assassination".

Well, then I got too invested into my second story… then I started to get busier day after day and now here I am, barely even finding the time and strength to write anything after spending my entire day on my job and my studies.

That's enough ranting for one rather short chapter so here are my future plans. Instead of trying to work on 2 stories simultaneously and distract myself with my own stories like I have done till now, from today on I will start to focus on finishing "Last Assassination".

Which means the updates for "Land of Dragons" will come even slower no matter how much it pains me.

Thank you for all the support even through my very inconsistent updating and I'll see you in the next chapter! ;)
