Yo, yo, yo everybody! Here's a new chappie for you all who had been waiting patiently~ Enjoy loves!
Ps. Sorry but there's not much fluff here :( I'll make it up all to you next time.
(8 years old Yuu, part 5)
If the situation isn't serious, or if he isn't bleeding to death, Souma would have laughed out loud and cheered for Yuu as he kicked the blue haired vampire in his face. That was awesome! But as it is, he could only watch in mixed fear and awe as Yuu immediately jumps away from the vampire and landed another kick on the vampire's abdomen.
The vampire's blue eyes widen as his face snaps to the side at Yuu's kick, but he didn't even budge when Yuu kicked him in his middle. Instead, it elicits a chuckle from the vampire, his harsh blue eyes brimming with amusement. "What the hell do you think you are doing, little human? Do you honestly think that you can hurt me? I am Juraki, the strongest warrior of Lord Muramasa, a puny human like you cannot defeat me, much less hurt me." (1)
"Whatever," Yuu spats, "like hell I wouldn't try."
Souma groaned and despised the child's recklessness and stubbornness as much as he admires it. "Yuu, run."
Yuu's emerald eyes slid to him for a fraction of a second, before the child let out a petulant pout and a stubborn: No.
Souma cursed as he struggles to raise himself from the floor, but he only managed to get himself up to his shaky arms. Next to him, Takumi is getting paler and paler as blood oozed out from his wounds; it's dying his blonde hair red and contrasting against his deathly pale skin. Souma cursed more at the state of his boyfriend. The sounds of something hitting against something solid snaps his head again towards the vampire and the child, Souma's golden eyes widening as Yuu kicked and punched and scream against the unmoving, laughing vampire.
"Yuu, I told you to run!" Souma screamed as best as he could, then he coughed out a lot of blood, his scream caused to aggravate his chest wound more.
"And I told you, no!" Yuu screamed back at him as he did a flurry of moves against the steadfast vampire. "I am not leaving you and I am not going to run away!"
Juraki let out a particularly loud laugh. "Ha! Brave words, little-"
Yuu suddenly jumped and smashed his palm under the vampire's jaw in an upward swing, a black flame like energy coating his hands for a while before it disappeared just as quickly it appeared. "SHUUUUT UUUUUP!"
There was a loud crack, followed by a stunned silence. Something sticky slithers down Yuu's fingers and he immediately retracted his hand in surprise and disgust. A gasp escapes his lips as he saw his hand with a trail of blood. Slowly looking up, Yuu locked eyes with the vampire, gulping hard at what he saw.
Juraki's fangs poked at the side of his lips, blood dripping in rivulets from it, his dark blue eyes no longer held any amusement in it but just plain cold like the night that surrounds them. Without breaking eye contact, the vampire reaches up a hand to wipe the blood off his face. A low sound so much like a growl emits from the blue head, steadily increasing in volume. There was no doubt in the two remaining conscious humans what's going to happen next.
"YUU RUN!"
Yuu stood frozen in his place, indecisiveness visible in his face, his eyes flickering back and forth between the vampire and the human.
"Yuu, please, and run for help!"
Yuu got the decency to glare at Souma, his eyes brimming with tears but he still isn't moving from his place.
"YUU!" Souma screamed, a little bit of anger and desperation seeping into his voice.
Juraki took a step forward and it was all the push Yuu needs as he immediately turns around and runs away. Juraki growled and looks at Souma, who was breathing heavily as he clutches his chest. "I would love to finish eating you human, seeing as your blood is delicious…" the vampire growls lowly, his gaze then slid to Takumi whose breathing is barely visible by now, "…but it seems like you would die soon enough… after you lover that is…"
Souma growls back at him, glaring at him fiercely. "You'll die soon enough too, vampire." He spat the last word.
"Doubt it." Juraki sneers at him before launching himself after the child. With a great whish of air, the blue haired vampire vanishes from Souma's sights… leaving him to bleed together with his beloved.
Weakly, Souma puts his head atop Takumi's, struggling to held back tears as closed his eyes and uttered a prayer to who knows who. "Please, just hold on a little longer Takumi." He presses a kiss on the blood soaked hair, sniffing. "I love you, stay with me please..."
As his golden – amber eyes slowly flutters close, he could only pray for a miracle.
Meanwhile, Yuu is running as fast as he can, his eyes holding back tears of frustration. Damn it, he ran away again. Is that really all he could do?
A shift in the air alerted Yuu of the vampire's presence, in pure instinct he twisted around and managed to kick Juraki in the face once again, and then he turns around and runs away again. Behind him, the vampire let out a groan and spitted some blood to the side but he never once let up on his chase on the human child.
Something is... unusual in that child, Juraki muses in his head. He's too fast and his kicks actually hurt a bit. He's more skilled than those pathetic human soldiers. That's not a normal human child who all does is cry and whine. Who the hell is that child?
Yuu took a turn around the corner and immediately ducked around the nearest hiding place he could find to catch his breath. He needs a plan, he can't just run away from the vampire forever and hope that he won't catch him; plus, he also needs to get help. Where was Isami- nii and the others?!
A hand bursts through the wall just beside his head and Yuu was barely able to contain his gasp.
"Oops," Juraki draws, "I missed." That clearly means he intends to miss at all.
You know what, screw making plans.
With an impressive battle cry, Yuu leapt out of his hiding place. Juraki looks at him in mild surprise, he didn't expect the child to actually come out; oh wait, yes he did.
He grabbed the child's neck and squeezed.
Not a moment later, the child hangs limply from his hand. Juraki sighed and went out back into the darkness of the night.
Present…
That was as far as Yuu could remember before waking up in this blood crusted cell.
He wonders if his Papa finally knows that he has been, umm, abducted. Yuu tries to imagine what his Papa is doing right now once knowledge of his situation is made known to him. He shudders, imagining what kind of horrors his Papa doing right now to his subordinates. His Papa probably showing his 'devil' side to them since his 'baby' got abducted. He sent a silent prayer for his Papa's subordinates to stay strong; he also prayed that his Souma- nii and Takumi- nii had survived and is now safe.
Silently, a shape of a door appeared in one of the far walls and opened. It wasn't until the light from that opened wall/ doorway reached Yuu did he notice the change in his surroundings and he slowly opened his eyes.
There stood in the doorway, the blue haired vampire that brought him here. Juraki, Yuu growled in his thoughts.
"Bastard," is what Yuu growled out loud.
The vampire merely smirks smugly at him and drag his eyes to look at Yuu's body from his head to his toes. "Well, stand up. It's time for you to meet our Lord."
When Yuu made no indication that he'll do as he says after a few minutes, the vampire lowered his head and chuckled. "Oh… that's right, you can't stand up."
Yuu's eyes flashed; a hint of red creeping on the edges of his eyes. He watched as the vampire walked towards him. "Hmm, guess I'll just have to drag you to him," said the vampire.
He grabbed Yuu by his collar and drag: dragged him out of this strange prison, dragged him into a multitude of dizzying hallways, dragged him into different floors and finally dragged him into what Yuu can only call a throne room. Yuu was brought to a stop a few feet away from lavish white boots of the person sitting in the 'throne' right in front of him. Honestly, Yuu is tired. Like, really tired. He was treated like he was nothing when he was dragged into this room adding more pain and bruises to his already battered body.
"Hmm~ you did a good job Juraki. This is indeed the child that I wanted."
The voice was light, but held a certain power in it. It's neither pleasing nor irritating to hear, but hearing that voice still grates on Yuu's nerves like it was the most annoying voice he ever heard in his entire life.
"I'm glad I pleased you, my Lord." Juraki answered with a bow; a pleased and smug grin can be seen on his face.
While they were exchanging nonsense, Yuu used this opportunity to scan the room he is in. Like his prison, there were no signs of windows or doors− no entrance nor exit, only grey walls painted with gold crawling vines that reaches up to the high dome shaped ceiling, this plush blue carpet where he is kneeling on and of course, the throne made of wood. He supposed that there's a unique mechanism in this room where Juraki and this Lord can only use. Finally, Yuu looked at this stupid vampire Lord who brought him here.
Muramasa Dahaoda looks exactly the same as the first time Yuu saw him. He has a beautiful face, silver hair flowing freely down his back and sharp, bloody red eyes with a permanent hungry look in them. Only this time, there was something mixed in his eyes asides from hunger: sadness.
Yuu frowns, wondering why this vampire is looking at him with sadness too.
"You are that upstart Guren's child, are you not?" The vampire Lord asked despite already knowing the answer. "Ah, I am so sad. This is a tragedy."
Yuu stayed silent, looking at the vampire blankly. Is he going to tell why he is sad or he wants me to guess?
"Really, my heart is crushed."
Do vampires have heart? Yuu wonders and still stayed silent. My Mika has one, I'm sure.
"This tragedy would have been more spectacular if all the characters are here, don't you agree child?" Muramasa continues, shifting in his seat so he is cradling his chin with a hand, a wounded expression on his face as if he is truly hurting. "Unfortunately, to bring your father here would have been too much trouble. But ah, nonetheless, I can already imagine the beautifully ugly face he'll make once I told him that I ate you! Imagine the emotions he'll be showing to me; the anger, the frustration, the hurt, the despair. Hmm~ it's so delicious that I cannot wait to see it for myself!" The vampire Lord made a dreamy face and let out a hungry moan. "It's so sad that he won't be able to see you die. I'm sure the face he'll make then would me more delicious."
Ah, Yuu thought. That's why he is sad.
"But I can have some fun with you now, child." Muramasa stood up from his chair, his long silver hair elegantly swaying at his back. "I'm known to be a vampire who loves to eat a child in front of their parents or vice versa− honestly, I just couldn't resist doing it! I love seeing the despair in their faces and breaking a family's hope!"
Slowly, he kneeled down before Yuu. "Even if you father is not here, I can still make you feel that same despair, child. Bon appetit." With that, he tilted Yuu's face to the side and quickly sunk his fangs in his neck.
Yuu's eyes widen, feeling his already low energy draining further. He wants to fight, he wants to push the vampire away, kick him, punch him, kill him. But he can't, he's too weak. So, so weak. Always has been. The last thing Yuu saw is Juraki's smirking face as his vision fades.
When Yuu came to... he's back to where his own helll started… back to the place where he abandoned his family… where he left them to die…
Paralysed with what he is seeing, Yuu's eyes flickered back and forth to the familiar blood stained walls, to the floors coated with the blood pooling from the bodies of his family…his family... to the lifeless bodies of his family because he's not strong enough to protect then so he left them to die.
Chills racked Yuu's tiny body as he tried to process what's going on, why is here again… is this finally retribution for his sin of abandoning his family? Is this the moment before he dies?
"Yuu…"
Yuu snapped out of his thoughts as he heard that voice. That voice…!
"Mika?!"
Yuu's green eyes anxiously looked around his surroundings, trying to find that one person who used to be his whole world back then; his best friend, his family, his Mika.
"Mika…" Yuu swallows as he tries to control the tremble of his voice. "Mika, Mika… where are you?"
Breathing heavily, Yuu waits for Mika to call out to him again, his mind in turmoil as he tries to process things. This… this must be a dream… another nightmare…
"Are we just another nightmare to you, Yuu?"
For a second, Yuu stopped breathing as he heard Mika's voice once again, his eyes slowly looking at what's in front of him.
Mika was slumped against a bloody wall, looking exactly what he looks like before he died: missing limbs, bloody all over. The only difference were his eyes, which are now as lifeless as a dead fish is. Yuu slowly takes his appearance in, never wanting to forget it, deep down he knows that this isn't his Mika though- his Mika will never look at him like that.
Like he's someone insignificant to him.
"Is that all we are now to you, Yuu?" Mika says slowly, blood dripping from his mouth everytime he says a word. "Just another nightmare for you to experience every night? … of course, who wouldn't have a nightmare like this? You abandoned us. You left us here to die so you could live alone. You ran away like a coward you are because you cannot protect us, because you're powerless and useless."
Yuu silently took all the things this Mika is saying because isn't it true? He did abandoned them, he left them there to die so he could live, he ran away like a coward because there's absolutely nothing he could do because he is utterly powerless and useless.
"Why Yuu…? I thought we are family…" Mika continues to say. "Why did you abandoned us? Why? Why didn't you protect us like you promised?... Why do you get to live while we don't…? Yuu…"
A pause.
"... just admit that we mean nothing to you."
"No!" Yuu finally snapped, roaring out his own anguish. "That's not true Mika! You're my family! All of you mean everything to me! You are everything to me!"
Mika smiled, a broken one. "Doesn't matter, I'm already dead."
Then the expression on his face continues to change, until Mika's beautiful, doll like azure eyes turned completely black that no whites can be seen, his face morphed into something entirely different…
Everything surrounding Yuu instantly disappeared with a strong gust of wind, he raised his arms instinctively to block the wind in an attempt to protect himself. When the wind was gone, Yuu lowered his arms and cautiously look around.
What greeted him was a brilliant and dazzling scene. It was like seeing the gates of the so called heaven in the stories opening up the gates for him. Everything he can see was bathed in a soft golden light; the clouds, the line of angels flying high above him- each of them holding trumpets in their hands and playing a melodious sound… -and the only shadowy figure in this space of a child standing atop a sword in the middle of it all, poised as if it was waiting for him.
It all seems surreal.
It feels like he's in the sky and he's standing above the clouds.
He doesn't know what is going on anymore. Is he finally… dead?
"You're not."
A voice. Clear and crisp, light like of an innocent child yet still cannot completely hide the underlying malice in it. It seems to be coming from the shadowy figure so Yuu fixed his gaze on it.
"What am I doing here then? Who are you?"
"We're here to give you powers Yuu." Was the only answer given.
Yuu blinks, then his eyes widen in surprise and disbelief. "...Powers?"
Isn't it what he wanted all along? Powers? So he could be strong enough to kill those blood suckling bastards and avenge his family's death? To protect the ones he loves now? But…
"What's the price? Why are you helping me?" Why now?
"Unleash us Yuu. Accept us. We have always been a part of you. Hidden just inside you. Together, we can be strong. Together, we can do whatever you want.
"Together, we can help you kill the vampires.
"Together, we can help you protect your Papa and your new family… unlike the way you failed to protect your family before.
"Together, we can help you."
Right, he still has his Papa and Shinya and everybody else in the army waiting for him… he can't just stay here letting some evil vampire suck him dry and die…
"... will you really help me?"
"Yes." The shadowy figure gives off the vibe as if it's smiling despite not having any facial features. It slowly floated down in front of Yuu and extended a hand towards him. "Accept us Yuichiro Hyakuya."
All warnings of his Papa and his own instinct about not trusting strangers flew out the window. This is about what he really longed for. This is what he wanted to achieve since the beginning of his miseries.
Yuu took the hand offered to him.
The ground suddenly shook. It was strong enough to make cracks appear on the walls and on the dome like ceiling and bits of debris to shower down.
Juraki lazily flickered his gaze around thinking that the cavalry for the child have finally arrived. He smirks smugly, they were too late.
What stupid and slow humans, he thought. First of all, they are just asking for death by coming here. Nobody can defeat me and my Lord. Second, any minute now and the child will be nothing more than a cold and dry corpse. Juraki let out a particularly evil chuckle and looked back towards his Lord who is busy savoring his-
There was a flash of cold light.
In the next second, the head of his Lord tumbled down from his neck and body. His face frozen in ecstasy as he was enjoying his- last- meal. His whole expression devoid of any realization that his head had been cut off from his body.
Another second passed before his Lord's head and body suddenly crumbled into dust as if it was burned and float away in the air fully representing it's nothingness. Gone.
Juraki looks on dumbly in disbelief. What just happened?! His Lord, his Lord is… gone! How...
It was when the last bit of his Lord's body finally disappeared that he was able to see what had happened to the child.
Or more like…
He finally saw the monster standing in the place where the child should be…
The monster was small. About the same size of the child he had brought earlier, heck it even looked like the child!
Juraki's brain froze with that thought and realization struck him. This… this monster… is the child from before? How is this possible…? Just who is this child?
The monster slightly turned its face toward him and he was able to see his features more clearly. A mismatch set of eyes greets him: left eye dyed pure scarlet and a pure black and bleeding right eye... and a massive wing- like structure sprouting from his upper left shoulder.
It let out a horrendous scream.
The ground shook harder in response and more and more debris started to fall as huge chunks of the room are destroyed.
Juraki stumbled a few steps backward in fear. He kept his eyes trained in this monster child in front of him. Every instinct in his body is telling him to flee, to run far, far away from here, that he'll die if he won't keep moving away from here...and yet he cannot move. Him, his Lord most strongest general is pathetically frozen in place due to fear of this small monster.
...and it's not like he really can't move his own body due to fear alone, there was a suffocating and heavy pressure in the room coming from the monster. It holds, squeeze and chokes Juraki in place, preventing him from escaping, it feels like he was surrounded by a huge hand and it was holding him down in place to await his death. He keeps trying to struggle against this pressure to no avail.
It was strong.
It was pure power.
It was evil.
The monster stopped screaming. Slowly it turned its body to completely face the frozen vampire…
And then it launched towards him, screaming death once again…
It was at that moment that Juraki realizes that he asked himself the wrong question… he shouldn't have asked who is this child… he should have wondered whatis this child…
It was the last thought of Juraki as he welcomed death in the hands of the child he had brought here and caused their demise...
Wow.
Whazzup readers! I'm still alive (fortunately)! And I finally updated in 123 years! AREN'T YOU ALL HAPPY TO SEE ME?!
No?
Yes?
No?
*skilfully dodges any thrown objects towards me due to frustration and for the long wait*
Okay, while I would love to explain in detail what happened while I was gone for so long, you prolly won't be interested in it anyway! Let's just say… LIFE HAPPENED AND LIFE HIT HARD LIKE A BITCH SLAPPING HER CHEATING BOYFRIEND.
So I bid you all adieu again.
See you next chapter! But who knows when I'll be in the mood to write properly during this quarantine? Oops. Forget I said that *made a dogeza towards you all.*
I didn't proofread this (as always hahaha) so just kindly overlook the grammatical errors until I'm in the mood to fix it.
Footnote(s):
1. Asuramaru is NOT in Yuu's hands. I know you all prolly got confused in his transformation and the shadowy figure. Sooo...
2. For Yuu's appearance, I just based it on his Seraph of the End appearance on anime. While that appearance is incomplete because of Asuramaru's prevention, I still wanted to use that same appearance since it was prolly what most of us are the most familiar with it. Just imagine that for this story, it ended up that way because Yuu is still too young hehe.
3. As for the part where there were angels and the shadowy figure (which you prolly all thought is Asuramaru), I also based that on what can I remember from the anime (this girl is too lazy to open her laptop to rewatch that scene and thus only search for pictures) thus, the changed parts and bits. As for the shadowy figure, let's just say that the "innate" powers in Yuu had a premonition that he'll encounter Asuramaru in that form soon and so copied it so they can show themselves to Yuu hehe. Friendly reminder that this is a fanfiction so please allow me freedom hahaha
