"Expecto Patronum," Hermione muttered under her breath. "Expecto Patronum!" EXPECTO PATRONUM! she screamed in her mind. An otter leapt from her wand and danced around her playfully. Hermione giggled, then blinked in surprise as a boar otter soon joined them, perfectly complementing her sow. She looked around the room to see Fred gaping, his wand still emitting the silvery substance of his patronus.

Slowly, every sound except for the two otters bled from the room.

"Why's everyone gone so quiet?" Ron asked.

Luna grinned widely. "Soulmates! When two souls are meant to be together, their patronii complement each other. I read somewhere that Harry's parents had a stag and a doe, respectively. Oh, Hermione, I'm so happy for you!"

Fred and Hermione continued to stare at each other awkwardly.

Harry clapped his hands together to get everyone's attention. "Alright, back to work everyone!"

Ron glanced aside at his own Jack Russell Terrier patronus. "Finito incantatum," he muttered.
