Surviving War
1: bleeding heart
They were different
and for that, they had to fight
a war? It wasn't fair.
It wasn't fair
but that was the way things were
after all.
They tried to understand each other.
They failed.
Or perhaps they'd been set up
to fail.
After all, forgiveness was a hard thing
to find, when the heart still bled
and on the field of war,
the heart always bled.
