Chapter 22

It only took a few minutes for Apollo to finish examining and treating Ari's wrist. Unfortunately, it looked like it was going to take a while for the burns to heal even with the god of healing's help. Based on the scrunching of his face and the look of utter frustration, Apollo was taking it as a personal offense that he couldn't heal Ari completely. Once Apollo had done what he could, the council, Ari, Persephone, Hestia, and Triton moved to a more comfortable sitting room just off of the throne room. The gods shrunk down to human size, and everybody took their seats. Ari wound up on a couch between Triton and Hestia.

Ari wasn't able to stop herself from fidgeting until Hestia grabbed her wrist and started to gently sooth the burn that was wrapped up under her bracelet.

"Don't worry, Ari. We just want to figure who or what did this so that it doesn't happen again."

Ari sighed she really didn't want to have this conversation. In fact, she had been hoping to put it off for as long as possible. She knew for a fact that her parents were not going to be happy. For a short second she thought about making a run for it; however, one look at Triton told her that she would not succeed.

With a sigh of defeat she sunk deeper into her seat, "What do you want to know?"

"What really happened in the Underworld?" Athena quickly questioned.

"Too much," Ari muttered under her breath. Of course, the god and goddess on either side of her caught it.

"Take your time, child. There is no rush," Hestia reassured.

Ari took a deep breath and began to talk about what had fully happened in the Underworld. This time, she didn't leave anything out.
