So... Explanation time. I've decided to re-work the Magnus Maverick Ever After Story, and so... Here it is. Well that was easy. Okay guys and gals, enjoy the story.
"Was I just roofied?" Slowly rubbing my head with a grunt, I sat up with a confused look on my face. "This isn't Griffith Park… In fact… This isn't Los Angeles… Am I in the mountains somewhere?" All around me is a lush and large forest, and by large I mean LARGE! The forest looked like something out of a cartoon where humans no longer exist, it was beautiful and terrifying to be honest. Though that is to be excepted, I am a city boy after all. Slowly standing to my feet, I dusted my self off and decided to take stock of what I have on me. Wallet, apartment keys, headphones, smartphone… Yep that's it. Let's see… Is there a signal… Nope… Great. Which means no calling for help… What to do, what to do? Well… I rather not stand here and wait for whatever kidnapped me, which means I must go forward!
Let's hope I don't run into a crazy cult of redneck cannibal, or a ancient god that wishes to teach me a lesson… I have to stop those kind of movies before bedtime, otherwise something like that is going to happen. Sighing I run a hand through my wild and spiky bronze. "Well, off I go into the brave unknown, for fortune glory and gold."
"Stranger in a strange land, I wonder how this young man will affect the lives of the students of Ever After High." A male voice mumbles
"Perhaps he can end this whole Royal and Rebels thing, only time will tell if this stranger can fix the issues." A female voice speaks with hope.
Freezing for moment I look around in shock, my eyes going wide. "Who said that?!"
"Wait you can hear us?"
"Finally for a while I thought only Maddie was able to, what a happy day!"
"I've finally lost my mind-Whoa!"
(Third Person POV:)
In the Village of Book End Raven Queen sat outside Hocus Latte, enjoying a nice cup of coffee as she listened to music. The daughter of the Evil Queen was having a great day, it is the weekend, she has no homework, and her roommate Apple White was gone for the entire weekend. Which made Raven happier then a clam. Not that Raven had anything against her roommate, but she needed a break from the super cheery princess. Especially since Raven started the Rebel movement, less then a few days ago on the night of Legacy Day. Ever since then Apple and her haven't been getting along. Which would make sense in a strange sort of way, especially given who their parents are. Though the reasons were quite different then their mothers.
With a sigh Raven slowly sips her drink. "Maybe it would be better if I did sign the book." While Raven preferred to live her own life, and not follow in her mother's footsteps. She didn't want to rob everyone of their happy endings, but… No she has to stand by her convictions, not just for herself but for everyone who wished for a different life. A life that they got to choose, not the life that their parents lived. Then again… What about those who wanted to live their parents stories? Like Apple or Maddie, and many others. Setting her drink down, Raven rubs the bridge of her nose. "What am I going to do?"
Silently Raven wished for something or someone to help her.
"Oh wow… This place is… Wow."
Looking up Raven raises an eyebrow at a very… Well interesting sight. Walking around town is a boy that looks to be her age, his skin is slightly tanned, and he had an athletic build. Not like Daring, who is rather large but more like… Well a runner, or swimmer. He looked cute in a rather goofball way. The teen wore a dark green t-shirt, with a sleeveless unzipped gray hoodie, black cargo pants and gray/red sneakers. His wild and spiky bronze hair made him look a little odd, and his silver/green eyes took in everything around him. The strange thing about him, was the fact he was completely filthy. Sticks, twigs, leaves, and dirty clung to him, making it look like he was either lost. Or he was trying to set a new fashion trend, probably the former rather then the latter.
"Okay… So he must be new." Standing up, Raven removes her headphones and walks over to the teen. "So are the sticks and twigs a fashion statement? Or did you get into a fight with a tree?" Raven asks with a small smirk on her lips.
Blinking on confusion, the strange boy begins to blush brightly. "Oh, uh… Neither, I ended up rolling down a very steep hill. Which ended with me giving a tree a face high-five." Rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment, he begins to remove the twigs and other things clothing and hair.
Snorting a little bit, Raven does her best not to laugh. "Interesting choice of words."
"It's a gift." The boy says with a small smile. "Hey… I have a question; can you tell me where I am? Because I am literally lost…"
Yep, he is new but who doesn't know this place? "You're in the Village of Book End, not far from Ever After High and the Enchanted Forest."
"I'm sorry… The what and the what?" Looking even more confused the ever the teen, slowly begins to take in his surroundings. "I guess that means I'm not in California anymore…."
"Cali-What?" Raven asks in confusion. "What are you talking about?" The Rebel didn't know what this California place was, but it sounded like it was a bad place. "Is this Cali… Whatever the Kingdom you are from?"
"Kingdom…? Uh… No I'm from the United States of America, well that is my country at least. I live in one of the fifty states-" Stopping for the moment the teen's face just registered something. A horrified look begins to spread over his face. "Did you say… Enchanted Forest… Umm…"
"Raven, and yes I did." The dark-haired girl provides, still feeling very confused.
"I'm Magnus…. Oh god…. I'm in a freaking fairy tale…"
"What are you talking about… Magnus? Magnus!?" Raven's eyes widen in shock, as Magnus's eyes roll into the back of his head and he passes out. "Stars and stones!" Before Magnus could face plant, Raven quickly caught the teen, but she also fell over with him. "What are you made of? Bricks?" Raven tries to lift the teen up, but she starts to struggle. "You are a lot heavier then you look."
"Oh look you found him! Hurray for Raven!"
Turning around Raven begins to smile at the sight of her best friend, who was standing there clapping happily to herself. "Maddie, am I glad to see you… Hey wait do you know this guy? Is he from Wonderland?" If he was it would explain why he was so… Odd, though it wouldn't explain his fainting.
"Nope!" Maddie pops the 'p' and begins to giggle. "The Narrators told me about him though, said we had a visitor from another world!"
Raven grunts and rolls her eyes. "Once again, you lost me Maddie, but I am glad to see you. Now can you do me a favor?"
"Yep, yep, yep!"
"Help me with him, he's heavy."
(Magnus's POV:)
"Gr…. Wha-" Slowly my eyes begin to open, only to see… Nothing. Everything is dark… Oh no! I've gone blind-Wait… Oh never mind, there is a wet rag over my eyes. Removing the offending piece of cloth, I sit up and began to take in my surroundings… It looks like I am in a… Storeroom of some kind, there is dry goods. Tea bags, among things. Though that leave another question, what I am laying on-Oh a cot. Well if I was kidnapped, least they gave me something to sleep on. They even included a pillow and blanket, how thoughtful. I move to stand up and… Wow they even took my shoes off. What nice kidnapers. I must be sure to give them a five-star review on YELP.
Spotting my shoes, I slip them back on and open the door…. "Am I in a hat shop, a tea store, or a madhouse?"
"Yes!"
"Ah!" Jumping into the air, I grip my chest tightly. "Who in the-" My jaw drops at the person standing before me. The man who snuck up behind me… Somehow. Is tall, taller then me. The guy is at least six foot, four and his beanpole build made him seem even taller. He has curly auburn hair, with a mix of light and dark highlights. His hair stuck out in all directions. The man is wearing a pink satin suit complete with a large toned purple collar, a white shirt and green buttons. He wears dark pants and shoes along with black gloves, white cuffs, a light blue bow tie and accessorizes with two earrings on the left ear. To complete the look is a black top hat, with a red bit of cloth wrapped around it, and a small pink and white polka dot bow.
"-The Hat Madder, the Mad Hatter I mean. Tea?" Pulling off his hat, in a salute to me a platter with a tea kettle, and two cup appears.
"Uh… No thank you?" My left eye began to twitch… How is this possible?
"Well if not tea, maybe coffee? Juice?" Popping up from the kettle is a pot of coffee, and from the coffee pot a jug of juice. "So-"
"No thank you, please just… Stop. My brain can't handle that." Am I having a stroke? Why do I smell toast? Oh wait he has toast on his platter.
"Daddy be nice to him, not everyone can handle Wonderlandian magic." A voice calls out.
Wonderlandian magic? What on earth… Wait I'm not on earth anymore… Why's the room spinning?
"Whoa, easy my boy." The Mad Hatter puts his hat away, along with all the… Stuff, and keeps me from falling.
"Thanks… Hatter." With the help of the older man, he helps me into the main shop where two girls were waiting. The first one of the two I recognized; she is the person I first met when I came to… This place. What was her name again? Raven, that's right. Raven has long, wavy black hair with purple streaks tied into a single braid at the back, and parted at the top to back room for her spiky tiara. She has violet, magenta, and purple-maroon streaks in her black hair. She has fair skin, and purple eyes. (Which are pretty cute.) Raven is dressed in a black and purple dress with a silver shoulder-pad-for-sleeves holder with silver feathered sleeves and a high, feathery collar, and a purple pendant in the middle; her dress also has a chain, belt-like accessory around the waist, she wears fishnet stockings, and open-toed short-wedged-high-heeled boots.
The second girl… Well she looks as wild and crazy as this shop. Her hair is curly and wavy, and comes in three colors: dark turquoise, mint green, and dark purple or violet. She has bright blue-teal eyes and light skin. Her main fashion accessory theme is tea, which include a teacup hat. She has on a magenta puffy-sleeved layered dress with a blue bow around the waist. White leggings cover her legs. They are blue spotted. She wears white-cream shoes with gold teapot-handle-resembling wedges or heels at the bottom of them.
"Yay, he's awake!" The second girl claps her hands happily.
"Yes, we can see that Maddie." Raven says with a smile at the colorful girl. Standing up both girls walk over to me and the Hatter. Huh, Maddie is shorter then both Raven and me. Even in heels. "You okay Magnus?"
After making sure I was fine, the Hatter wandered off. "Not really… " Sitting down in a nearby chair, I begin to rub the bridge of my nose. "I'm still lost… By a lot. How did I end up here?"
"Well you see, Raven and I carried you then Daddy put you in the-" Maddie started but stopped when Raven put a hand on her shoulder.
"I think he means, how he ended up in our land. The answer is… I don't know. Travel between the realms is nearly impossible." Raven looks at the Mad Hatter and Maddie, who look down with small frowns. "The last time it happened, was a few years ago when a few people from Wonderland came here. After that, the portals all closed."
"Realms? Lands… Worlds…." I shake my head with a frown. Why does this feel like I'm in Once Upon a Time? Where's a magic bean when I need one? Or a mermaid, or a magic wand or a cyclone, or a curse… Man there was a lot of ways to go there was a lot of ways to travel the realms in that show. "This is just all too… " I struggle to find the proper word, because insane couldn't even begin to describe my situation.
"Well it's quite mad!" Maddie giggles but stops when Raven shoots her a look.
"I'm sorry Magnus." Raven puts a hand on my shoulder with a frown.
Giving the girl a smile, I shake my head. "Don't be… She's right, it is quite mad… So is there anyway for me to go home?"
Raven frowns and shakes her head. "None that I know about, but maybe… Headmaster Grimm knows more." That last part was said with distaste.
"I take it you don't like this guy?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Maddie giggles again. "That's an understatement, he can be quite grumpy sometimes. Well all the time actually."
"He and I… Had a disagreement. It's not important right now." Raven says hastily. "What matters is getting you home."
"Are you sure it isn't important? I mean if he doesn't like you-"
Raven shakes her head. "It doesn't matter, Headmaster Grimm can be a jerk, but he will help you."
"Hopefully." I mutter under my breath.
"I'm afraid I can't help you." Headmaster Grimm says with a frown. "Traveling between the realms is impossible."
"Yet Magnus did it. Or something did it to him." Raven gestures at me with an annoyed expression. "Surely there is something you can do."
This has been going on for almost an hour now. When we left shop and made our way to the school, my mind was both figuratively and literally blown by… Well everything. The town was downright…. Shocking in how beautiful and cartoony it looked and felt. It really did make me feel like I was in a fairy tale world, and that feeling only grew when I saw the place they were taking me. They called it… Ever After High. Me… I'm calling it Cinderella's Castle, because it freaking looked like Cinderella's Castle from Disney Land! Sadly I didn't have time to marvel at the castle, as Raven and Maddie dragged into a overly large and plush office inside. That is where we met Headmaster Grimm, he is a rather tall and stout man with green eyes. Grimm has dark grey hair with silver stripes, and a thin mustache covered his face. Grimm is dressed in a blue coat and light greyish blue vest with a light blue ascot with a golden decoration with a red stone on it. He also has on a golden ring in the shape of a mirror.
He looked like a tool.
Of course I was proven right, because the man tried to deny my existence at every turn.
"I told you before Miss Queen that I cannot help you, realm travel is impossible." The older man insists. "Your friend must have bumped his head, and think he came from another realm."
…. Okay that's it! Standing up in my chair, I storm over to the older man. "Bumped my head? Bumped head!? So I just imagined coming from a city called Los Angeles? Where all of this, and you guys are basically just fairy tales!?"
Grimm took my little outburst in stride, but his eyebrows did raise up in disbelief. "Los Angeles? As in California?"
"You know any other… Wait you know about California?" This is a little… Unsettling. "How do you know about my home state?"
"I know of it. Yes. As for how I know, well I am far older than I look, and I have traveled to many far and strange places." The older man nods with a thoughtful look, and turns away from me. "If you truly came to us from there… Somehow you ended up our realm, from a place without magic. I will need to think more on this and how you came here." Cupping his chin the older man lets out a sigh. "Until I can figure out how to send you back to your home, you will need a place to stay until further notice. So if your willing, I can enroll you into our school. The students here live on campus you see, so you would get room and board."
"I… What…?" Did he just offer to put me up for free? That seems a little… Weird. What's the catch?
"Yay Magnus can go to school with us!" Maddie giggles happily.
Grimm just raises an eyebrow. "Yes, now there is some paperwork to take care. Miss Hatter, Miss Queen you should go about your day. This will take a while."
Raven starts to say something, but stops as I put a hand on her shoulder. "I'll be fine Raven; I don't want you guys to waste your day." With a smile I hold out a hand. "Since we're going to school together, we'll see one another around I'm sure."
The gothic girl nods. "Alright if you're sure, but here-" Raven grabs a pen and piece of paper from Grimm's desk, and quickly writes something down. "That is the number for our MirrorPhones, if you need anything call or text us."
"Bye Magnus, have a hattastic day!" With a friendly wave the mutli-colored haired girl leaves with Raven.
"Oh thanks." I fold the paper up and pocket it with a smile. "Wait a minute… I don't think my phone will get service out here." Shaking my head, I focus my attention on the Headmaster. "Before we begin, can I ask you something? Why? Why are you helping me? Not that I'm not grateful, it's just you don't owe me anything."
Milton raises an eyebrow. "Your right, I don't. However I have my reasons Mister Maverick, none that concern you. Anymore questions?"
I beg to differ, but I am not going to question him. Not when he is offering me a place to stay. "Nope."
"Good, then let's get started on that paperwork."
God this is boring… It is so mind numbingly boring! Seriously, I am considering chewing off my own hand to escape! After an hour or so of paperwork, Headmaster Grimm presses a button on the intercom on his desk. "Madam Yaga please come to my office right away. Well Mister Maverick, we're done."
"We are?" I ask with a dubious look.
"Well your part is done; I still have things I must deal with, but you are done. Ah Miss Yaga please come in; this is our new student Magnus Maverick."
The door to the office opened to reveal an older woman with long wiry grey hair, and grey eyes. She had a red scarf over her head, she also had on a patchwork skirt and tons of jewelry. Though I think the most shocking thing is, she is sitting on a mortar that is floating off the ground. To be honest she looks like a cartoony gypsy grandma… Except for the whole floating thing.
"Uh… She is floating… Is that normal?" Grimm just rolls his eyes, but Miss Yaga laughs.
"I like him Milton." Yaga smiles.
"Will you show him to the male students dormitories, while I finish up the rest of his paperwork?"
The floating woman nods. "Very well, follow me Magnus."
Following Yaga out the door, I heard Grimm say something about me being here is a bad sign. I wanted to know more, but Yaga ushered me out the door. "Now then Magnus, would you like a tour of the campus?"
"If you don't mind, since I'm going to be living here it would be good to know my way around."
"Very well, follow me young man." With that the tour began! As I was shown around the school, I had to admit… This place was awesome, weird, and sometimes kind of stupid. Seriously they call their cafeteria the castleteria, very stupid if you ask me… And if I hear anything else like that… Well my brain might explode. After an hour or so of looking around, Miss Yaga led to men's dormitories. Leading me to the end of the hallway, she opens the door with a smile "This will be your room for the year, I hope you enjoy your time here with us."
I nod my thanks to her and step inside, looking around I whistle. This place is pretty sweet, a queen-sized bed rested against the far-left corner, while the floor is covered in a soft looking blue rug. The rest of the room is pretty spartan, expert for a door which leads to what I am guessing is a bathroom and closet on the opposite side of the room. "Thanks Miss Yaga. No roommate?" I ask turning around.
"Most of the other students are already paired up, and those who don't have a roommate typically don't want one." She explains with a small frown.
"Makes sense." I would have liked a roommate; they would have come in handy in helping explain…. Well this entire place, but eh I'll make do.
Chuckling the older woman pats my back. "Now I must be going, but our school counselors will be by soon to help you with your schedule."
"Alright, and thanks again for showing me around Miss Yaga." I wave goodbye to the witch and shut the door. "Weird how one of my teachers is a evil Russian witch." With a sigh I walk over to the bed and flop straight down. Slowly closing my eyes, my mind began to go over the day's events. Somehow I've been pulled into a fairytale world, and now I must go to school with the kids of famous story book legends. I think the most important question is… How do I get home? Can I get home? If I can't what am I going to do here? Sue for right now I have a place to stay, but I have no money, no support system other than the school and the few people I've already met. As I thought over my situation, I felt myself slowly starting to fall asleep. Maybe I should take a nap and then think over… Everything. Yeah that's a good plan. Nap now, think of desperate and possibly depressing future later.
"Excuse me, Mister Maverick are you in?"
Or I could go see whoever is at my door. With a groan, I pull myself from the super comfortable bed, and go to answer the door to find a goose standing there. The goose has on a pair of glasses, a blue bobbin, and a clipboard under her wing "Uh…"
"Mister Maverick?"
It talked...
...
...
...
Nope. I shut the door and turn around. "I'm going back to bed."
"Mister Maverick please open the door."
…. "Give me a minute." I slap my face and take in several breaths. "Okay." Turning around I open the door. "Sorry about that uh…"
"Mother Goose." She provides helpfully as she waddles into my room.
Of course she is. "Right… Again sorry about that, it's just… You're a talking goose."
"I take it we're not that common where you're from?" She asks with a grin.
Oh god she has human teeth… That is even scarier than the fact she is talking.
The goose shakes her head. "I take it from your silence that is a yes. Now I am one of the school counselors, and we just need to take care of some final paperwork, before you start taking classes."
"Right." Focus on that Magnus, she is just a school counselor… That is a goose. "So what kind of classes will I be taking?"
"Well from the general information you provided the headmaster, I have most of your classes set up except for… Well what do you know about our school system?" When she saw the look on my face, she clears her throat. "Right, sorry Mister Maverick. Well, aside from our general education we offer classes for students who follow… Specific destines. Things like General Villainy, Wooing 101. Things like that."
Right. Of course, because that makes total sense. "So… I have to decide what classes to take?"
"Yes, now here is a list of the classes." She passes me a clipboard, which luckily had a pen.
Taking a look over the list, I circle a couple of classes that seem interesting and pass clipboard back to her.
"Oh my! Villain and Hero classes?" Mother Goose says in alarm.
"Can I not do that?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.
The talking goose seemed taken aback by my question. "Well… It's never been done. Most students take classes that are suited to their destiny."
"Don't have one, so I'll have to make do." Plus, I am hoping that I won't be here that long.
"That is true. Well I shall hand this paperwork over to the headmaster, oh and I will speak to your dormmates about showing you around town. I will also have the student council president take you to your classes."
"Thank you Mother Goose, I really appreciate it." Well aside from Raven and Maddie, and some of the school staff I'll know some people here around my own age. And that are guys. Plus I'll have someone to take me to class. Man these guys are really accommodating. After seeing the goose out of my room, I shut the door and immediately go back to the bed. Laying down I start to drift off again, only for someone to knock on my door. Did Mother Goose forget something? I go to answer the door, and when I do there are two guys around my height standing there. The first guy has tan skin, hazel eyes, and dark brown hair. The right side of his head is shaven, while the hair on the left side hangs just over his ear. He wearing a green shirt, and a brown vest similar to a hoodie. He has on brown boots, white pants, and carries around a brown satchel.
The second one has light skin, brown hair with a cowlick and deep blue eyes. He has on a small, headband-like, gold crown and glasses. The guy has on a royal blue jacket, that is lined in gold, a black sweater, with some kind of gold insignia on it. Along with a white and blue scarf, gray jeans and high tops.
"Uh… Can I help you?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.
"You must be the new guy Mother Goose told us about, I'm Hunter and this is Dexter." The guy with the shaved head said with a smile.
"Nice to meet you." The now-named Dexter pushes his glasses up his nose.
"Oh right, your my dormmates. Nice to meet you." I hold out my hand to each of them, which they took. "Uh… Do any others live in this part of the dorm?"
"Yeah, a guy by the name of Sparrow Hood. Just a word of warning, he is a musician and practices at odd hours. So if you hear a racket in the middle of the night, it's him." Dexter jerks his thumb toward a door in annoyance.
I nod my head in thanks. "Appreciate the warning Dex."
"Hey since we're here, would you like to see the sights?" Hunter asks as he crosses his arms.
It's either go with them, or think about my situation more and why should I do that? I can do that later tonight when I'm trying to sleep. "Sure."
Since Miss Yaga gave me a brief tour of the school, the guys decided to show me around the Village of Book End. Though it's more like a city then a village, but eh semantics. Some of the places they took me to were… Interesting. There was Yarn and Noble a bookstore, Red Shoes Dance Club, Beanstalk Bakery, Wonderland Haberdashery & Tea Shoppe, and several other places. As they were showing me around, Hunter received a call on his phone and asked if Dex would continue showing me around. Without even waiting for his answer Hunter took off.
"That was odd."
"Not really." Dexter shrugs. "He does it all the time."
"And you don't find it weird?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.
"I guess I got used to it." With a smile the crown wearing teen continues to show me around, as we were walking Dexter eventually asked where was I from. Which led to a very brief discussion of me explaining my origins. "Oh… I'm sorry Magnus." Dexter bows his head with a sigh.
"It's okay man, it's not like your responsible for me being here." I pat his shoulder. "Though if you are, I'll kick your butt."
Dexter shakes his head with a snort. "Well no worries there then, but I wish I could help."
"Your showing me around town, and distracting me from my problems. So you are helping." I reply with a large grin.
"Heh, I guess." With a laugh Dexter runs a hand through his hair. "Hey Magnus, how about I treat you to a latte? As a little 'Welcome to Ever After High' gift?"
"Sounds… Cool." Not a fan of coffee, but it would be rude to turn down his offer. "Lead the way." Putting my hands behind my head, I follow Dexter to a coffee shop called… Hocus Latte. Really? Just… Really? Ignoring the name, I walk into the shop and after Dexter and I placed our orders. Though finding a seat was another matter, the coffee place was pretty packed. Looking around I spotted a table that had… Hunter and some girl I didn't know. Well whoever she is, she is downright beautiful. She has emerald green eyes, peach skin and pink lipstick, her long strawberry blonde hair is pulled into a pumpkin-shaped bump and tied with a braid. The girl wore a aquamarine dress, with floral patterns, and puffy sleeves, along with some… Interesting jewelry. Though I think the most shocking thing about her outfit is her shoes. They were heels…. Made of glass.
"Hey, we can sit with Hunter and Ashlynn." Dexter starts to walk toward the table, but I stop him with a frown.
"I think they're on a date dude. "It might explain why he blew us off, though why he couldn't just say anything is beyond me.
"What? That's ridiculous, she's a Royal and he's a Rebel."
"Huh?" I turn my head in confusion. "Dude literally came from another world, that has no meaning to me whatsoever."
"I keep forgetting that." Dexter mutters. "Right, so here's the back story."
After a quick exposition dump, I understood why he thought Ashlynn and Hunter weren't dating. I think it's bullshit if you ask me, they are so clearly dating. Well secretly at least, and I use the term secretly loosely. Seriously, Ted and Robin had more subtly then these to. "Right, still just on the off chance I'm right. Let's find another place."
"That's just crazy Magnus. Now come on." Dexter says as he starts walking toward the table.
Right, Crazy. Following the brunette, I put my hands behind my head.
"Hey Hunter, Hey Ashlynn." Dexter pushes his way through the crowd toward the 'not' couple. "Mind if we join you?"
Hunter looks annoyed, but Ashlynn nudges him and smiles at us. "Not at all Dexter, and who are you?"
Man she is cute. Then again all the girls here are cute… What is with that? Seriously. "I'm Magnus, it's a pleasure to meet you."
"So you're the new student Hunter was telling me about. Well it's nice to meet you too, please sit down." She gestures to a couple of chairs that had some bags on them.
Removing the bags and setting them on the floor, Dexter and I sit down. "Sorry about interrupting your date."
"Date!?" Hunter and Ashlynn shout in panic.
"W-We're not dating, that's just ridiculous. We just happened to run into one another." Hunter holds up his hands nervously.
"Yeah, this was the only table we could find. So we sat together." Ashlynn grins as her eyes dart around.
Dexter shoots me a look. "See I told you nothing was going on."
They are so dating, snorting I shake my head. "Your right, my mistake."
"We have an order here for Dexter and Magnus!"
"I'll get those, be right back." Standing to his feet Dexter pushes his way through the crowd toward the counter.
The moment he was out of earshot, I turn my attention back to the couple. "So… Real talk, you two are dating right?" Before they could deny anything, I hold up a hand. "Come on guys, it's obvious. You might as well spill."
The teens look at one another and sigh. "How did you know?"
"Well, Hunter you gave yourself away early on. Leaving suddenly like you did, then Dexter tells me you have been doing this a lot. Then it was finding you here together, the constant denial, the nervousness-"
"Okay we get it." Ashlynn holds up her hands with a sigh. "We'll try to be more careful."
"Don't know why you two just don't date openly, aside from the whole Royal and Rebel thing." Before they could reply Dexter came back with our drinks.
"Sorry about the wait." He says passing my cup of coffee.
Taking it with a smile, I shrug my shoulders. "No biggie, and thanks again man."
"No problem, so what were you guys talking about?" Dexter asks with a friendly smile.
"Uh… Magnus was about to tell us about where he came from." Hunter grins nervously. "Right?"
"Yep." I nod with a small grin.
"Cool, I'm rather curious myself." Dexter sips from his coffee with a curious expression.
Smacking my lips, I cross my arms as I lean back in my chair. "Well I come from a world where… Fairy tales are just that. Fairy tales." As I explained a bit about my home to three fairy tale kids, I wonder how they will feel about Disney Land?
"They built a amusement park based on our parents!?"
I think they took that rather well.
