The Best Day Ever

Green sighed and moodily kicked a rock along the path towards her house. She felt like she didn't have a lot to be melancholic about, yet she was. Today was her birthday and though her day had been wonderful so far it was the first birthday since she was eleven years old that she hadn't spent in the company of her two best friends, Red and Blue.

But her boys had decided to travel to Alola and it seemed they were going to be there a while. Green didn't want to get in the way of what was surely an amazing experience but at least a phone call would have been nice! That wasn't too much to ask was it!?

Green sighed again as she reached her door and fished around in her bag for her keys. She'd spent the day with Silver as she usually did when it was her birthday, and her parents, now that she had found them. Gold, Crys, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald had shown up for a bit too. She and Emerald should just have joint birthday parties, Green thought. So her day had been almost the best day ever but now, as evening fell, Yellow was coming over and it was the time Green would normally have a few drinks to celebrate with the other Kanto Dex Holders, her favourite people in the world. But two of them weren't going to be there.

Green shrugged and unlocked the door, who needed them anyway? She still had Yellow and Yellow was amazing, they didn't need the guys to have fun.

Green opened the door and nearly dropped her keys in shock as three voices yelled, "SURPRISE!"

Yellow stood in the middle of the room under a giant banner that read 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREEN.' And Red and Blue were standing on either side of her.

"What are you guys doing here?!" Green stepped forward into her home, mouth open, the two of them weren't supposed to be back for ages.

"You didn't really think we'd miss your birthday, did you?!" Red asked, grinning from underneath his party hat.

"Tch, silly woman," Blue said, but he too, was smiling.

Green lunged forward and pulled them both into a head-smacking hug as Yellow wisely threw herself out of the way.

Today was the best birthday ever.
