What's this? I'm actually updating? It's been a while, hasn't it.

Life's been super busy.

Got married, moved in with my in laws, Mother-in-Law got super ill, my mental health took a downward spiral. All of which meant that I didn't have much time to write, and when I did have the time I didn't have much motivation.

BUT I'M BACK!

This is the second of my fanfics that I've updated in the past couple of days, and I hope to update the rest soon if you follow any of my other stuff.

"What?" Tony exclaimed. How dare he even think about staying! This wasn't Loki's home and his tower wasn't a hotel for the otherworldly. Sure, he let Thor stay here sometimes, but they were friends! Okay, maybe Harry would technically be otherworldly too, seeing as he didn't come from his Earth, but at least Harry came from an earth! Loki was a different kettle of fish. He was the guy who destroyed the roof of his tower when he decided to invade New York! It wasn't as though that was a small thing. Hundreds of innocent people died!

"The child cannot come to Asgard, so I shall stay here on Midgard." Loki said matter of factly. Tony opened his mouth to complain, but Loki continued talking. "I did assume correctly that you wish to access your magic, yes?"

Harry's jaw dropped. It was quite comical to witness if Tony was completely honest with himself. But he didn't let himself laugh. Loki staying on earth was no laughing matter, mere months previous he had attempted to take over said planet! He couldn't stay.

"I- Really?" Harry breathed, a tone of reverence in his voice. Tony internally sighed. He was screwed. Loki was going to be staying. He could feel it already. Why on earth did he have to have such a soft spot for the kid? Harry looked to Tony and he felt his heart constrict at the veiled hope in the boy's eyes.

Tony sighed again, externally this time. This was going to suck; big time. Why was he doing this? He didn't want this. He didn't want this at all.

"Fine." He spat out, and then regretted causing the look that flashed across Harry's face.

"It's okay, I mean you don't have to. I don't want to be a bother and I -"

"Stark and I have had an… interesting history young one." Loki said. Tony snorted. That was an understatement if anything was.

"Yeah, you just tried to take over the world and enslave the human race, no biggie."

"Man of Iron," Thor boomed, "It is not as… voluntary as my brother here makes it sound. The All-Father has decreed that Loki's punishment shall be finished here on Midgard, amongst the people that he has wronged. He is banished, his powers greatly diminished."

Tony rubbed his forehead. What was this? Team up on Tony day? Why the Allfather thought that he could solve every problem with his sons by banishing them to Earth he didn't know, but he sure as hell didn't like it.

"Look, kid. I don't like him. But that's my problem. You don't have to dislike him because I do, that isn't how it works." Tony turned to Loki and glared at him. "You hurt him and what Hulk did to you will look like child's play."

Loki nodded. At least with Loki staying on earth the Asgardians could stop wearing out his landing pad with their too frequent bifrost journeys.

"Man of Iron- Would it-" Thor began to say, but Tony interrupted him with a loud sigh. Why was it always him?

"He doesn't have anywhere to stay, does he?" Tony stated, pinching the bridge of his nose. Was wanting his life to be Loki free really too much to ask?

At least Thor actually had the sense to look sheepish.

"Jar?"

"Already on it sir. Rooms are being prepared on Thor's floor."

Good. Loki being with Thor meant that he was far, far away from his floor. He didn't want Reindeer Games anywhere near him. If he had to live in the tower, sobeit, but that didn't mean that Tony had to interact with Loki and more than was absolutely necessary to make sure that he didn't blow anything up.

Only one problem with this solution. Harry had been staying in a guest room up until now, well that and lying in a bed in the med bay. The guest room was too close to where Loki would now be staying for Tony's peace of mind. There was plenty of empty space on his floor! He would make Harry his own set of rooms to stay in near Tony, and far away from Loki. It's not like Tony ever used his floor anyway. Bedrooms were for two things and two things only. Sex, and sleep. And he almost never used it for the latter. Why sleep when you could invent things instead?

Sure, Pepper would bug him into staying the night with her in bed, but he never got very much sleep before he was once again awake. With all the spare space on his floor, Harry could have his own set of rooms with plenty of space between their suites to ensure privacy.

"Fine." Tony said, walking up to Loki and poked him in the chest. "You do anything, anything at all to hurt anyone on this planet and you're out. I don't care if the AllFather sent you here as punishment. He isn't my king, he's yours. You're on my turf now. My house, my planet, my rules. Kapeesh?"

Loki nodded.

"I am not here to hurt your people Stark."

Tony snorted. "I'll believe that when I see it."

Harry yawned, interrupting Tony's train of thought. The kid was absolutely exhausted and here they were arguing and keeping him awake! Tony ushered everyone out of the room, and told Thor to show his brother to his new rooms. By the time they had left, Harry had already fallen fast asleep. Tony turned out the light as he left the room, a fond smile on his face as he looked at the sleeping teen. He didn't know quite how, but Harry had managed to worm his way into Tony's heart.

After a short phone call to Pepper, where he may or may not have hung up on her after she started yelling at him about Loki now living in the tower, Tony had things set in motion for Harry's new rooms. These were going to be so awesome. Sure, he might be going slightly overboard with the whole thing, but it was his money that he was spending. He doubted that Harry knew what to do with half of the stuff he was including in the suite, but the kid would learn and it would get him up to speed with the technology without shoving it all down his throat. Alternate universe he could believe, but going back to the tech from the 90s? Tony shuddered just thinking about it. Things had come a long way in the last twenty years of innovation.

####################################

Harry woke with a start, his heart pounding.

Dead.

They were all dead.

His dream had started off normally, just Harry going about a normal day at Hogwarts, when Bellatrix Lestrange jumped out from around a corner, killing everyone who was with him. Harry was then somehow back in the Department of Mysteries.

"I killed Sirius Black".

Bellatrix's song echoed throughout the dream as his friends ghosts approached him, each of them blaming him for their deaths. Hermione, Sirius, Cedric, Ron, Tonks, Lupin, Ginny, Luna, Neville, his parents. The list seemed endless. They were all dead, and it was all his fault. If only he hadn't been so stupid.

But it was just a dream.

Harry let out a shaky breath and looked around the room he was in for a clock, before remembering that there weren't any here. If he wanted to know the time he would have to bother Jarvis. Harry let his head flop back against the pillow. He felt like such a leech. Here he was in this luxurious skyscraper, having done nothing but be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It shouldn't have been him that survived. He didn't deserve it. Harry didn't deserve any of this. It was ludicrous to think that he was somehow in the same place as all these comic book characters. He had traversed the multiverse. But, impossible things always seemed to be unnaturally attracted to him. Harry forced out a deep breath and tried to force the dream from his mind. There was no point in dwelling on it at the moment, when he couldn't do anything about it and it would just make him even sadder.

Looking outside the window, it seemed to be either early morning or late evening. The sun was just peeking out over the horizon. Harry had no idea how long he had slept. Had it been days? Or merely hours?

However long it had been, it was long enough that he was hungry. Harry felt a lot better for having slept. Last time he was awake, he had been so tired. Magical exhaustion really did take a lot out of you! Harry let a small smile slip onto his face. Loki was staying here at the tower. He felt slightly guilty that Mr Stark was having to put up with Loki because of him, but the opportunity to still be able to use magic was too good to pass up. Wandless magic! Back home it was almost unheard of to do magic without a wand, outside of accidental magic. Only the most powerful wizards, like Dumbledore and Voldemort, were able to do it and even then they couldn't do much with it. Could it be that the Wizarding World just hadn't discovered the right method for it yet? Harry almost couldn't wait to pick Loki's brain on the subject.

"Jarvis?" Harry eventually asked, finally giving into the urge to know the time.

" How may I be of assistance?" came his voice out of the walls.

"What time is it?

"It is currently 17:36. You have been asleep for approximately 13 hours. If you are interested in partaking in the evening meal, there is food being served in the dining room."

Food sounded like a wonderful idea, moving not so much. The bed he was in was just so warm and comfy. Harry sighed and swung his legs over the side of the bed. If he didn't get up now, he wasn't going to get up at all; and he really wanted something to eat.

Harry stood up and made his way upstairs to the dining room, Jarvis occasionally prompting him whenever he wasn't quite sure where to go. When he entered the room the smell of freshly baked garlic bread hit his nose first.

"Harry!" Came a chorus of voices. He smiled and sat down in one of the few empty chairs. He noted that Thor and Loki weren't there, but didn't question it too much. The siblings must just be spending some time together. The others had already started eating, but there was plenty of bolognese and spaghetti left in the dishes at the centre of the table. Pepper, who was sitting to his left passed Harry a plate and he served himself a portion of food. It was only then that the people in the room seemed to reach a consensus that now he had food, they could talk his ears off. Everyone started talking at once, asking all sorts of questions. Harry just tucked into his food and raised an eyebrow at them. Mr Stark chuckled.

"Okay, okay. We get your point short stuff. We'll let you eat first."

It wasn't long before Harry had finished what was on his plate, and turned down seconds when Pepper had tried to make him eat more. He was absolutely stuffed full.

"How are you feeling?" The question came from Bruce, who was sitting on his other side. The man had eaten a surprising amount of food, almost triple the amount most of the others had eaten.

"Slightly tired, but a lot better than I have been." Harry replied honestly. He was feeling so much better than he had ever since arriving at the Tower. Being magically exhausted had really taken everything out of him. His magic levels must be getting near to normal now.

"Good. You had us really worried for a while there kiddo."

############################

Before he knew it a week had passed since Harry arrived at the Tower, at least in the amount of time that he had actually been conscious. In reality it had been just over two weeks, it now being part way through March. It was weird. Everyone here was so nice; too nice. It was all so different from his life back at Hogwarts that most of the time it felt as though he was dreaming. But this was far too nice to ever be one of his dreams.

Harry had finally fully recovered from his 'ordeals', Loki had finally given him permission to do pretty much whatever he wanted, including magic. Not that he could actually do any magic yet, and he would be wary about doing any surrounded by this much technology anyway.

Who would have guessed that Loki was a bigger mother hen that Madam Pomfrey ever was? Harry certainly wouldn't have. He could finally leave the Med Bay though. Harry had been confined to sleeping there in the med bay, not in the guest room that he had been given. Although the bed was just as comfortable as the one in his room, it was a medical room and thus had that overwhelming smell of disinfectant. At least he hadn't been confined to the room all the time, but Harry was definitely looking forward to going back to the guest room tonight.

"Mr Potter?"

"Yes Jarvis?"

"Mr Stark requests your presence on his floor at your earliest convenience."

That was odd. Apart from his quick tour of the place, Harry had never been down to Tony's floor at all. Harry popped a bookmark into the book that he hadn't actually been reading and stood up from the sofa. He could now see the book, which he couldn't a few days ago, but Mr Stark had paid for him to get his eyes checked. Pepper had been the one to go with him to the appointment, and she hadn't let him see any of the prices, leading Harry to believe that they had been ridiculously expensive. However, he now had glasses and didn't have to squint to see everything. The book in question hadn't been particularly interesting, but it had been lying around and Harry had gotten so bored that he had picked up the thing just for something, anything to do.

Harry soon reached Tony's floor; Jarvis made sure he went to the correct one.

"Tony?" Harry asked into the empty corridor, his voice echoing slightly.

"Over here squirt!" Came Tony's voice faintly from somewhere down towards the end of the corridor. What on earth did Tony want him for? Harry rounded the corner at the end of the corridor to find Tony standing in front of a door, a huge smile on his face. Harry was instantly suspicious.

"What have you done?" Harry said whilst crossing his arms.

"Why do you assume I've done something bad?" Tony exclaimed. Harry just raised an eyebrow at the man, trying not to laugh.

"Well if you don't want your surprise then fine!" Tony poked his tongue out.

"Wow. You're such a grown up Tony. Very mature."

Tony stepped away from the door with a smirk. He gestured towards the door with one hand, confusing Harry until he noticed that there was a sign on the door. A sign on the door that said 'Harry's Room'. Harry turned to Tony, disbelief in his eyes. This- This couldn't be happening. They couldn't want- There must be some kind of mistake.

"What?" Harry managed to squeeze out, his voice breaking halfway through the word.

Tony took a step towards him, a smirk on his face. He slung an arm over Harry's shoulder. Harry's breath caught in his chest.

"What do you say Harr? Can we keep you?"
