Preparing

Damian closed his eyes, allowing his visions in. He allowed them in from time to time, but even with the headache gone, he usually kept them shut out so that he could focus and rest. Now, they quickly settled from their usual scrambling at being allowed in before focusing on the matter at hand. Obi-Wan Kenobi. Specifically, the two destroyed Holocrons had turned on for no apparent reason the night before, one playing a broken recording of Master Kenobi while the other apparently allowed Ezra to hear Maul's voice. Then, despite everyone's warnings that he should ignore it, he had left. So, Shaak Ti had suggested they use Damian's visions to see if they could find Obi-Wan. She had explained that in all her time in the Jedi Order, she'd never heard of, or seen, anyone with visions as clear and accurate as Damian's. Damian blamed it on the Mother, but agreed to try. Leading to the current problem.

He wasn't seeing Obi-Wan, Maul, or Ezra. He was seeing the Sith Apprentice that attacked Shaak Ti. He was fighting someone. Damian couldn't see who, but his opponent was using almost exclusively Force Lightning. Purple Force Lightning. And then, the images shifted and the Apprentice was dead. The images faded, leaving Damian's mind blank and he opened his eyes, frowning.

"What did you see?" Shaak Ti asked.

"Nothing related to the current issue," Damian said. "I'll keep trying, but right now, I doubt I'll see anything useful."

Shaak Ti nodded and left to train with Maris. The others all scattered besides Damian's family and Kanan, and anyone who could use the Force in that group began to meditate. However, for two and a half days, none of them got any visions. Even Damian. Finally, Maul's Mandalorian shuttle flew down to the bas and landed, everyone heading to it immediately and finding Ezra walking off of it, covered in sand and followed by Chopper who was just as filthy. Kanan went to meet him with the rest of the Ghost crew and Damian sighed, standing.

"Two days and nothing," Damian sighed. "So much for my visions being the best she's ever seen."

"Well, everyone else's visions are a pain in the ass when we need them," Ahsoka said. "It's about time yours followed that rule too."

Damian nodded, sighing and closing his eyes, just in time to see the same fight between the Apprentice and the Sith he was fighting, which Damian was pretty sure was the Emperor, only to this time see himself and Ahsoka fighting alongside the Apprentice, and not seeing the Apprentice dead this time. He opened his eyes, seeing the others all talking to each other, besides Ahsoka, who set a hand on his shoulder.

"What did you see?" she asked quietly.

"We're going to have a job to do later," Damian said. "Not sure how much later, but later."

Ahsoka nodded. "You can fill me in later."

He nodded and they left to go and play with Alina, who was being carried by Shia at the moment.

Damian grit his teeth as images flashed behind his eyes. Some were near future, from what he could tell, some distant. Others were far, far further. Some changed even as they played behind his eyes, and some flashed multiple times, exactly the same each time. Finally, he opened his eyes, shutting out the visions again.

"You've been letting them in a lot more recently," Ahsoka said, propping herself up on one arm to look down at him in concern. "Is something wrong?"

"I've been getting a bad feeling recently," Damian said. "I think Thrawn knows where we are. Or, at least, he's getting close."

Ahsoka nodded. "And when he shows up, we'll deal with it. Are you afraid?"

"Not for myself," Damian said. "I'm always afraid of losing all of you. We've underestimated Thrawn every step of the way."

"But he's been underestimating us too," Ahsoka said. "He doesn't know what our family can do when our back's to the wall. And when he shows up, we'll show him."

Damian smiled. "You have so much faith in us."

"Of course," Ahsoka smiled. "You promised to be here for as long as I loved you, so why would I ever stop believing in you now? I told you I would always love you, so there's no way our family's going to be broken up yet."

Damian smiled and nodded. Ahsoka leaned down, kissing him, and he smiled, holding her against him, his hand trailing up and down her bare back, trailing along her spine and making her shiver slightly at the contact. However, after a couple of seconds, the door hissed open and they both looked over, seeing the serious expression on Zera's face.

"One of your Fulcrum contacts called on an unsecured frequency," Zera said. "Thrawn will be here within the hour. The others already spread the word."

Damian and Ahsoka both threw themselves out of bed instantly, getting dressed in seconds before leaving the room. R3 and Katie were already getting the Wraith ready to take off, and the entire base was being broken down already. Thrawn was too early. Another day and they'd have been at Lothal, having the Wraith wipe out the TIE Factory while everyone else fought the Imperial blockade to draw their attention.

"Damian, Ahsoka!" Hera called out as they ran over. "Thank God for your contact network!"

"No kidding," Damian said. "Do you need any help packing up?"

"No," Hera said. "The Wraith and her entire crew need to be ready to support in the battle. They could be here any minute for all we know."

"Understood," Damian nodded. He and Ahsoka turned, looking around before Damian activated his communicator. "Wraith Crew, back to the ship. We're deploying the moment Thrawn's troops arrive."

Everyone rogered up, Shaak Ti and Maris volunteering to join them, and they headed back to the ship. Damian headed to their room, grabbing his and Ahsoka's weapons and armor, pulling his armor on, then stuck his jetpack to his back, freshly beskar-plated and painted dark blue, as was his chestplate, with the same swirling design as his lightsabers' hilts, courtesy of Sabine. He hurried to the cockpit and handed Ahsoka her lightsabers as Barriss and Zera ran in.

"Riyo and Shia are in Alina's room with her," Barriss reported. "We might be glad we added closed-unit life support systems to that room."

"Hey!" Shaeeah said as she and Jek walked in, followed by Enfys. "Have a little faith in our baby." She ran a hand over the dashboard of the Wraith's control systems. "She can take anything they can throw at her without needing that closed-unit system."

"Where's Sapphire?" Ahsoka asked.

"She's going to help look after Alina," Shaeeah said.

"So, now all we're missing is Shaak Ti and Maris," Barriss said.

"We're here," Shaak Ti said as they walked in.

"They're here!" Sato's voice suddenly shouted over the communicator.

"How many?" Damian asked.

"Five Star Destroyers so far," Sato said.

"Understood," Damian said. "Have General Dodonna retreat. We can't afford to suffer heavy losses from both cells."

"I agree," Sato nodded, disconnecting.

"R3, Katie, is the ship ready?" Damian asked.

Both beeped out an affirmative and Damian secured the cargo bay doors and took off, leaving the base behind quickly, all stealth systems active.

"Shaeeah, go get your gun," Damian said. "Phoenix Squadron, the Wraith is in the air! Who needs her first?"

"There is a Star Destroyer equipped with a gravity well!" Sato said. "The Wraith is the only ship that can deal with it immediately!"

"Understood!" Damian said, steering toward the Star Destroyers. "R3, scan for the gravity well."

R3 beeped, and after a moment, he singled out one of the ships. Damian steered toward it, then sighed, turning his chair around as R3 took control of the ship.

"What?" Ahsoka asked.

"We're not going to be using the wraith to blow up the gravity well," Damian said.

"What?" Barriss asked. "But it's the best ship we have."

"True," Damian said. "But we're going to be having R3 and Katie use it to keep the TIE Fighters from slaughtering our troops."

"So what do you propose?" Shaak Ti asked.

"Please tell me you mean twenty three," Jek grinned.

"Close," Damian said. "I have one better than overloading the Star Destroyer."

"What?" Shaeeah asked.

"Using the Star Destroyer as a battering ram to take out Thrawn," Enfys grinned.

"I'm glad you remember how to be a Marauder," Damian said.

"I may have retired in order to help with Alina and to help the fleet Logistically, but I never stopped being a Marauder," Enfys said. "And I'm coming with you all for this.

"Good," Damian smirked. "I was actually thinking we could take the entire family for a field trip."

Everyone grinned around at each other before nodding.

"Good," Damian smirked. "Katie, pass out the gifts."

Katie beeped quickly as R3 began the first pass over the gravity well's Star Destroyer. She opened a panel Damian used to smuggle before he'd ever met Ahsoka, and pulled out faceless metal helmets with the same internal life support systems, cameras, and other features as Damian's helmet, but all flat silver and only Durasteel plating, rather than beskar. Once everyone had pulled their helmets on and activated them, they also were all given Durasteel chest plates and Imperial Mandalorian jetpacks, all of their armor and jetpacks dark grey. They all pulled them on and ran out of the room to grab their weapons before all gathering in the cargo bay. Damian glanced at Ahsoka, who smiled at him before putting her glorified face mask on.

"Riyo, Shia, Sapphire, can you all hear me?" Damian asked.

"We read you," Riyo responded.

"The family is stepping out to commandeer a Star Destroyer," Damian said. "R3 and Katie have the controls and guns, so you'll be safe. We'll be back soon."

"Understood," Shia said. "Be careful."

"I will," Zera said.

"You too Barriss," Riyo said.

"And you, Shaeeah," Sapphire said.

"We'll see you soon," Barriss promised.

"Activate mag boots," Damian said, everyone complying. "Opening the hatch."

The door opened and they all waited as the atmosphere vented, the room being free of cargo and loose objects. Then, as they were passing over the Star Destroyer, they all jumped out, using their jetpacks to fly to the ship, then everyone without the Force using it to slow their descent. Damian extended his lightsaber blades and used the Force to send them into the hull of the Star Destroyer in a wide circle, then spun, the Lightsabers speeding around with them. Once the hole was cut open, Damian pulled his lightsabers back before shoving the circle of hull into the hallway. The hallway began to vent instantly, but everyone again used their mag boots to remain in place as dozens of stormtroopers were sucked out of the hallway for a moment before a barrier sealed the breach.

"Jek, Shaeeah, and Enfys, head for the reactor core and shut the gravity well down," Damian said. "Shaak Ti, Barriss, and Zera, head for the hangar. If they have any of the new Tie defenders, steal them or destroy them. Maris, you'll be with me and Ahsoka at the control room."

Everyone nodded and scattered.
