I know that it seems pretty bad that both my first stories are about trolls but I guess I just like Branch… not the movie, but Branch… and not even everything they have him do in the movie, but still. I really hope you guys like this, the reviews on the story I wrote before have been really nice so far. This is when they're helping Bridget on her date.

After a long day of danger and stress, this situation is just feeling pointless and frustrating. Creek is dead, we all saw him get eaten but Poppy can't ever learn that there can be times when bad things happen. After everything that's gone on so far you would think she could've figured it out.

Now that Bridget has talked to the king, we'be gone to a restaurant. I'm tired and ready to take everyone home, Poppy doesn't realize that by trying to save Creek, she just keeping the rest of her friends in a dangerous place. This is where our parents and grandparents were imprisoned to be eaten. Something that's already happened to us and will again if we're not careful.

We've been here way too long, not only in bergen town, but here with Bridget and the king. I've tuned out the conversation around me, not caring about this date, or even really finding Creek. Then I hear a stutter below me and Poppy whisper yelling.

"Compliment him back!" Bridget doesn't understand what she means.

"Help her!" I say, seeing the King look at her wit a raised brow. Poppy tries, but every time she starts a sentance, she doesn't can't figure oUT how to finish it. Bridget just awkwardly repeats the beginnings of compliments Poppy offers, ending after a few words to try a new one. Everyone behind us starts trying to help, throwing out random things to compliment, but never anything helpful.

I've been losing patience this whole evening, this situation is frustrating and strange. The overlapping shouts continue behind me, "Eyes!" "Nose!" "Skin!" Bridget keeps saying everything she hears, I close my eyes as I feel a headache coming. "Ears!" "Neck!" She keeps saying each one, looking at him and trying to sound confident. "Head!" "Teeth!" The king stands up, asking if Bridget was making fun of him, while getting ready to leave making everyone go quiet, and look around hoping someone else knows what to do.

"Your eyes-" The voice below us starts. "Are like two pools so deep, I worry if I dive in-" the king stars to sit back down, listening. "I might never come back up for air." I look down at my feet, getting ready to tell her more. "And when you smile, the sun hides behind the clouds knowing it could never shine half as bright." The king looks at Bridget in awe, then down to his hand behind the table

"You think I have a nice smile?" I turn to see Poppy, staring at me in surprise. I still feel frustrated and tired, but the disbelieving smirk she gives me makes me feel like everything's better than it's ever been. I smile back, and she waits for me to say something.

"Yes," I look down, then back at her again. "I do."

I'm not overly proud of this. But it's done and it's posted and I figure that I can only get better the more I write, so I guess I wouldn't call it a waste of time. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it. Please review, I love hearing comments and criticisms. Both are helpful and encouraging.
