YOU'RE ADORABLE TOO
Finishing the last file, Abhijeet looked at the clock in his cabin.
1 am.
It had been a long tiring day. He was to be early next morning too – thanks to the meeting with DCP Chitrole.
He should really get to his home. But he can't get her off his mind.
Why couldn't she just go to the doctor with him?
Who did she think she was, superwoman, huh?
…
…
…
2 am.
It's pretty late. He shouldn't wake her up by ringing the doorbell.
He unlocked her front door with the spare keys he had, in case of an emergency.
He then walked up to her bedroom. A smile crept up his face as he watched her sleeping. She really looked like an angel. But the smile disappeared as soon as his smelled the ointment she had used for her headache.
Tarika was not a person who believed in taking medicines for small little ailments. The headache must have been really terrible, Abhijeet concluded.
He ran his fingers over her hair and settled himself beside her, on her bed. He then massaged her head. His hands alternating between her temples and the top of her head, he didn't rest till he felt her ease.
He made a mental note to take her to a doctor if she showed symptoms of flu or if the headache persisted. He then bent down and kissed her forehead softly.
"You're adorable," he whispered.
"Hmmmm hmmmmmm hmm," she said, in her sleepy voice, not bothering to open her eyes.
Abhijeet's eyes widened. He didn't know that she had been conscious enough to hear him. It took him a moment to decipher what she had hummed – "you're adorable too."
You're adorable too –
The best thing Abhijeet had heard in a long time. All his fatigue and weariness disappeared like magic.
He went to the guest room, grinning stupidly.
