Chapter 1
Five days after the event, at Karakura Town's cemetery. A funeral was being held, at the loss of a 9 year old boy. Who to this day, people were asking themselves.
'Why?'
'Why was he taken away? He hadn't done a single wrong deed'
'So why?'
'At the age of 9 was he taken?'
In total, 24 people were there this day, but only 16 were currently around the open grave and closed casket.
The other 8 were far off to the side.
Covered by shade from the trees they were underneath, they were all dressed in black. As is a unwritten rule to do so when going to a funeral.
These 8 individuals, were there out of respect for their friends who were attending for the boy.
"Ichigo Kurosaki eh. . .'He who protects'. . .while I may not have had the chance to meet you kid, from what I heard from Kisuke. You were truly something special," the clear leader of the group spoke, looking at the back of said blonde and company.
This man, was a tall blonde lanky looking man with a slight bowl haircut. His name, was Shinji Hiraku.
And accompanying him, were the rest of his merry band who call themselves the Vizards.
Going back to the graveyard, stood Kisuke Urahara, Yoruichi Shihouin, and Tessai Tsukabishi, a old friend of the two Ex Captains. There were also two young children with them, one with short slight red hair that happened to point in three directions a little beside him was a girl with short raven black hair with a strand of hair between her eyes that split at her nose, Jinta and Ururu are their names. The two younglings were there because Kisuke brought them along, imagine there surprise when seeing two little girls who looked about Ururu's age.
'This guy must have been their older brother..' Jinata thought, looking at the other raven haired girl and slight blonde brunette at the funeral.
While his fellow companion who appeared to have a permanent blush to her cheeks, also felt bad for the twins. Besides them, was another small group. A group of four who looked a little out of place to the twin Kurosaki children and lone child of the Arisawa family. For this group of four, was the Ishida Family, who's patriarch was cousin of the matriarch of the Kurosaki's.
Both patriarchs of the two connected families, sighed mentally 'What a way to meet your younger cousins Uryu.. on their older brother's funeral' they thought simultaneously.
And last, but not least. Was the Arisawa family, through their first borns' connection in karate class. The two mother's grew close watching their children, easily seeing how they would become greater friends if time were to continue on for them. The two even jesting to possibly betrothed them, while a bit old fashioned, they had sensed a possible greater relation than friendship forming (in the case neither Masaki and Ichigo died, thus Ichigo never going through his funk once he lost his mom. If I should make a short story on that, let me know).
At least, it would have, if not for what had happened
Once the coffin was buried underneath the ground, everyone paying their last respects to the family. Only 8 remained, the 8 being the Kurosakis and the Isidas. Ryuken Ishida approaching his cousin, a sober look on his face. Before slowly speaking to the grieving mother
"I'm so sorry this happened to you Masaki.. I had hoped our reunion would have been on better circumstances" the white haired male said sadly
"Do not apologize for what you didn't cause Ryuken, while I may agree on that statement my dear cousin. It is good to see you" she said, through a forced smile. Approaching him and giving her distant family a long, overdue hug.
Which Ryuken did return, feeling as the woman before him clutched onto him for life itself. Easily feeling her exhaustion and lack luster of life that once shone so brightly with her smiles.
The two pulling away, each gesturing their children over.
"Uryu, come here son"
"Karin, Yuzu. There's someone I like you too meet"
The three, each look towards their respective parents they were standing by. Before moving to the ones that called for them, Masaki smiling at her daughters while Ryuken held that strong regal look but it slowly soften as the boy approach his father.
"Karin, Yuzu. This is your cousin Uryu, his father Ryuken is my cousin" Masaki said, gently nudging her children to meet their cousin
"Uryu, this is you Aunt Masaki and your cousins" Ryuken said as softly as he could.
As the three neared each other, it was the oldest among them to be the bravest. With a small nervous blush and downcasted look, he spoke softly
"My name is Uryu, Uryu Ishida. It's nice to meet you"
"Karin Kurosaki"
"And I'm Yuzu Kurosaki, nice to meet you too Uryu"
"Uryu will be transferring to Karakura Elementary next in the spring, I feel a change in atmosphere would be better for us" Ryuken said, patting Uryu's shoulder softly
"Funny that, Karin and Yuzu will be starting school there too" Masaki replied, giving a small smile. Her children looking up at her, knowing what she had to do in order to get them in school. For Japan law, has it where children who have turned 6 can start school. They're birthdays are in May, so they wouldn't have been accepted until the next year but Masaki didn't plan to let either of her children be a year behind.
"Aren't they 5 though? I thought you have to be 6 years old in order to begin school" Ryuken ask, looking at his cousin and nieces.
"I 'spoke' with the school administration for when Ichigo was 5 years old. They will let my girls in, as they had my son" she smiled, rather a little too sweetly.
Her daughters giggling as the saying rather thru their minds 'Never make Masaki mad, you aren't going to like it'
