(psst the title stands for more than your sister. i wanted to be cool and have an acronym. did it work?)

The moment she met him, Lily Luna loved Teddy. Even as a baby, if she was fussy, sometimes Teddy would be the only one who could calm her down. They had a connection. She loved his, at that's why she was really happy when Teddy burst in on the Potters' first family dinner after Lily's graduation, because he looked very happy himself; anything that made Teddy that happy was sure to make her just as happy.

It didn't.

"I just proposed to Victore."

Oh.

Lily knew that they him and Victore were dating, but she just didn't think that they'd actually last. They had been dating for so long because they kept on breaking up, making up, and then fighting again. In truth, Lily didn't want them to last, because, well, Lily loved Teddy. Maybe she hadn't loved him since she met him, but she had started to love him, slowly. She started to want him all to herself. Ever since James had told them, ten whole years prior, that he saw Teddy snogging Victore, Lily had started to resent her, more and more, each time she saw them together. When Lily spotted Victore give a wistful glance towards Teddy, and, in that moment, hated her, Lily knew that she had fallen for Teddy.

She had only told one person about her crush and that was James. When Teddy told them the news, James gave Lily a questioning look. He could obviously see the pain and disappointment on her face. Anyone who looked at her could, but their parents and Albus were standing around Teddy, who was telling them his proposal in detail.

Lily shrugged back at James, who shrugged back and left his seat to go congratulate Teddy.

Lily stayed seated.

"Lily."

"Teddy." she responded, mimicking his tone. They were hanging out the Tuesday after Teddy and Victore got engaged and they had been pretty quiet, both of them engrossed in the books that they were reading.

"I'm getting married!" he exclaimed. Again. Lily rolled her eyes. He had mentioned it three times since they got together that morning.

"No offense, Teddy, but I don't really care," Lily said, not really thinking about the words coming out of her mouth.

"What?" Teddy's tone told Lily that he was hurt by her comment. "Why? This is the most important thing to me."

"No, Teddy, I didn't mean that," she said quickly, putting down her book.

"Sure sounded like you did. Lily, I thought you'd be happy for me. We're actually going to be related."

Lily bit her lip, not knowing how to get out of the puddle she was in. She didn't want to lie to Teddy; she truly didn't care. And, yes, it'd be great for them to actually be related, but Lily wanted them to be related as, well, husband and wife. She didn't want Teddy to be her cousin-in-law. She didn't even think there were such things as cousin-in-laws.

"Okay," Teddy said, getting up and nodding, once he saw that she wasn't responding. "You don't have to be happy for me. I just thought that we could share the happiness, seeing as you're my best friend…"

Teddy made to leave, but Lily jumped up from her chair.

"But I don't want to be your best friend!"

"What?" Teddy's tone, once more, sounded hurt-filled.

"No, I didn't mean it like that!" she said quickly. "I don't want to be your best friend, because, well, Teddy, I fancy you."

Teddy laughed out loud.

"You can't fancy me. You're like my little sister." Teddy was smiling, sure that Lily was joking. Lily plastered on a fake smile, for him.

"Yeah, yeah, you're right, I was just joking, Teds." She attempted a laugh for effect, but it sounded weak to her. Something pulled at her heartstrings.

"Just joking."
