The night is here, the fresh breeze swept through the area and the skies lit up alongside the stars. The air was crisp and woodsy, and everything felt right.

Katara, Aang, Sokka, Suki, and Toph all sat down near the campfire. They were planning where to head next, Katara didn't care where they went as long as they were safe, Aang wanted to find a firebending teacher, Sokka wanted to explore the world and meet fascinating things, Suki only wished to be with Sokka, and Toph just wanted to stay on soil. They all had to think of a decision for they couldn't stay in one place too long since it would bring more danger to aang and it would be easier for them to be tracked.

After a long hour of bickering and arguing over where to go next someone finally took a stand and organized everything.

"We'll sleep here for the night, in the morning we will head off again and go to the nearest merchant area to get more supplies." Sokka said while drawing a small map of the plan on the dirt with a stick.

As they prepared for night Katara put out the fire, leaving them in complete darkness. They all longed for the day that they could sleep in a room, with a roof above their heads and a pillow beneath, or even just a simple light- warmth, to fall asleep to.

Hours Later

Katara woke up to the sound of explosions, she stood still in silence listening intently, but heard nothing after. She convinced herself that it was nothing and she had woken up to her mind making its own hallucinations but moments before falling back to sleep she heard noises coming from the forest and blasts of light. She quickly stood up and looked around, she turned to everyone and they were all sleeping except one who was missing. Aang was gone, she ran to Sokka and woke him up, "Sokka! Sokka! You've got to wake up!" She said shaking him violently. Sokka woke up and saw the fire in the sky,

"Huh what?" He said, "what's going on?"

"I don't know," she said, "All I know is that Aang is missing."

"What's with the fire in the sky?" he questioned as he got up from this position, "Is it the fire nation?"

"There's no time for questions Sokka! Aang is missing we have to go find him!"

"Wait, where is Toph?" Sokka said while standing up and looking around,

"Are you not listening to me?" she screamed, "Aang is gone! Vanished! The Avatar! We have to go now!"

Sokka, still not paying attention shifted towards Suki to wake her up,

"Toph is also missing, we can't focus on just one. Me and Suki will search for Toph and you go to Aang." Sokka said.

Katara stared at him surprised, why would he bring two people to find Toph, a well-experienced if not the best earth bender around, she could surely make her way back easily. Instead of using two people to cover more ground to find the AVATAR he sends only one.

"Why only me?" she said surprised, "Why not me and suki look for Aang and you go find to-"

"No, I said what I said. Toph is only 12 and she is blind." Sokka said.

"What? I'm sure Toph can find her way back, if anything she shouldn't even be lost, she probably woke up before all of us and is looking for Aang as well! And what if you run into the fire nation soldiers?" she said.

"Katara, Aang will be fine. Just go." Sokka said while running off into the woods with Suki.

Katara let out a yell of frustration, if only her brother listened to her, two people searching for Aang is far more efficient than two people searching for someone who isn't destined to save the world. The fire nation is here which means fire benders, probably in hopes of taking Aang and presenting him like a Trophy to the firelord, but it's whatever. She had already wasted time arguing with her brother when she could've been using it to save Aang.

She ran into the forest, turned around and saw trees on fire, she knew that aang had to be near, no firebender would just go around setting trees ablaze without reason. It must've been for Aang. She knew well that this might not end well, for it was only her and Aang against firebenders- that if she found Aang before a firebender found her. She headed off into the direction of the burning trees and hoped for the best.

She kept walking straight into the woods towards the fire but she never encountered anything, she kept walking as she saw ashes and leaves flowing around her, she looked around every corner and only went in the path of destruction but yet she found no clue of where Aang could be. Then, out of nowhere as she ventured deeper into the forest she was pulled back by a strong gust of wind. Aang! She thought, she ran faster into the woods until she reached a small cliff, she stopped running when she reached it. "Damn" she thought, dead end. She heard another blast, and she decided to look down the cliff, she saw Aang and a firebender fighting. They were a decent distance from her but she was able to tell Aang from his tattoos.

She instantly tried to find a way to get down but there seemed to be no other option but to go directly down. She carefully slid herself down the small cliff and ran towards Aang, the closer she got the more the firebender started to seem familiar. She was still far away from them even though she was running as fast as she could, she knew she wouldn't make it in time because by the time she caught up with them, Aang could've been gone. She bent the water that was near her and used it as a ride.

She reached Aang and grabbed his shoulder, about to tell him that they had to flee she realized something. The firebender seemed oddly familiar- and it was just a coincidence that this firebender happened to be alone. Upon getting closer to the firebender she started to recognize him, His tall figure, his pale skin, his shaggy black hair that shadowed his face, his golden eyes, and most evident… his scar that claimed the left side of his face.

"Zuko." She yelled, she was so stupid. The fire nation ship, Aang being missing. Of course it was Zuko. What other firebender would have the thirst to capture the avatar? What other firebender would come alone to face the avatar? She felt a grip on her wrist and her head flung to the side,

"Come on, let's go!" said Aang as he grabbed Katara and ran off. They reached the cliff and stopped, "How are we go-" said katara before Aang wrapped his arm around her waist and airbent a tunnel upwards onto the cliff. They looked at each other and smiled because they now had the advantage, however as Katara looked down she saw Zuko flying with fire coming out of his hands and legs, her eyes widened and she instantly grabbed Aang's hand and started to flee. No matter how hard they ran they couldn't seem to outrun Zuko. Maybe it was because Aang and Katara were both exhausted. He had just been fighting and Katara had ran past hundreds of trees and slid down a cliff. Even though Zuko did both what they did, he still had so much stamina. He was ready for this, chopping bushes, vines, anything that stood in his way as he ran to catch what he had came for.

Somewhere along the way Katara and Aang started to split up, Aang was running fast with his airbending and Katara only slowed down. She knew she wouldn't be able to run back to the camp, she would slow down Aang if he were to run alongside her and Zuko would catch him.

Then, an idea sparked in her mind, she swiftly turned around to see Zuko running towards them, holding her hands out and bending the water out of the air, turning it to ice with the flick of her fingers, she aimed them straight at him and pinned him against the trees with her icicles. She continued running while she could, she had managed to stop him. But she had not thought of the outcome, she turned her head slightly to see that Zuko had melted the ice she encased him in, she panicked as she saw him bolt towards her.

"Aang!" she yelled, "Aang come back! Please.." she screamed, but realized he wasn't there, he must've thought that she was behind him, but she wasn't.

"Aang!" she yelled again, hoping that he would hear her, but he didn't, because no one came to her, no one came back. She could feel heat start to linger and she knew Zuko was close. If Aang couldn't hear her then there was no chance.

"Sokka!" she yelled, hoping that maybe her brother could hear her. "Anyone please help m-!" she yelled before a hand went over her mouth. Her eyes widened and she turned around, She saw pale skin at first, her eyes move more up and saw Zuko. "Let go of me!" she yelled while ready to strike him.

"You're coming with me," he said while yanking her and running off in the opposite direction. She yanked her hand away from him and tried to run, but he was too prepared. She secretly snuck behind a thick tree. She slowed down her breathing to make it more quiet.

"Where are you, you filthy peasant" Zuko said while slicing through vines and bushes looking for her. Katara slowed down her heartbeat with her slow breathing and was incredibly quiet. She heard him cutting through bushes, he was getting closer and closer to where she was stationed at, she remained calm and was planning where she would run off to. She would have to be a sneak master, yelling for help was no longer an option.

Out of nowhere Zuko slices through a bush near her and her breath gasps a bit. She heard his footsteps stopped and everything grew silent. She knew that he knew where she was, she quickly ran to another direction but his hand grabbed her wrist and shoved her back, causing her to fall down. She kicked his legs and he fell to the floor, she got up and ran.

"Stupid peasant!" he yelled as he got up and chased after her, he found it rather easy to catch up to her. He knew damn well that she was tired and he used that to his advantage. If he couldn't catch Aang, then he could use an alternative way.

His hand grabbed Katara's wrist and flung her back, "This stops now." He said

"W-what do you want from me?" she asked while trying to get away from his grip, but he was just too strong. She couldn't tell if it was because she was too tired or because he was just naturally stronger than her, even if she was tired or not she probably wouldn't have escaped this grip.

"If I can't get to Aang, I will use you to get to him." He said sternly.
