The moonlight and a soft glow from the streetlight softly illuminated the spent couple, wrapped in each others arms. Their clothes long since forgotten about on the floor as they gave everything they could physically to express that which words sometimes failed to do.

Jo lay on top of him, her legs folded at his sides. She ran her nose across his earlobe in a way she knew drove him crazy. His eyes closed peacefully, he gave a lazy grin, "You know what will happen if you keep that up."

She trailed kisses across his neck and asked innocently, "What?"

Suddenly he rolled them so he was on top, his mouth quickly finding her chest. In her surprise at the sudden movement, her arm flew on its own accord from the force and knocked several items off the bedside table. They each laughed as his mouth continued to explore, her eyes closed in bliss. Suddenly she startled, "Herbie!"

Alex rose up suddenly with a look of disbelief, "I'm Alex."

Jo rolled her eyes as she tried to sit up and lean over the side of the bed, "No, Herbie. Ugh, where is he?"

Alex sat up to give her more space, "Who the hell is Herbie?"

Jo smiled brightly as she found the plastic container, "Ah ha, here he is. Poor little guy. He seems okay though."

She raised up and showed off the animal to Alex who blanched and moved further away, "What the hell is that?"

Jo smiled brightly at him, "It's Herbie."

Alex furrowed his brows, "It looks like a leech."

Jo nodded, "He is. I got him out of a woman's nose today. He's a cute little sucker, isn't he?"

Alex looked disgusted, "He looks like a leech. What are you gonna do with him?"

Jo gave a dumbfounded look, "Keep him."

His nose curled up in disgust, "What? No."

She smiled at him sweetly, "I've never really had a pet before."

"So start with a dog! He's not staying here."

Jo looked at him heartbroken, "You'd throw away our first pet together?"

Alex snorted, "Stop with the face. What's he gonna eat?"

"If you keep saying he can't stay I'm gonna let him chew on you." When Alex didn't respond, she pleaded, "Come on Alex, he's not hurting anything. From what I've read he can live a year or two without eating. He won't bother anything."

Alex huffed, "This is something we should have talked about before you just brought him into our room."

Jo narrowed her eyes, "Oh like you bringing Arizona home?"

"Robbins isn't a bloodsucking, disease-ridden parasite."

Jo gazed sadly at the medical container and then back at her boyfriend, "He doesn't have anywhere else to go. He's all alone in the world and he's homeless because of me." She gave a pouty face, "Please. You won't even know he's here."

Alex tilted his head and sighed gruffly, "Fine, just….keep him away from me." Jo smiled and reached to set him back on the nightstand. Alex's eyes widened, "And he can't stay there. Can't have you getting all upset every time we get too wild and he gets knocked off in the floor."

Jo smiled as she placed the container on the bottom shelf, "You just don't want him to get hurt. It's sweet."

"Whatever," he mumbled tersely as she turned back to him with a big smile and reached up to quickly pull him down into a passionate kiss.
