Ch. 5 Crisis at Lex corps.
Sorry for not updating anything, but my siblings went back to school and I'm the one who has to wake them up, a non-fanfiction I've been working on started consuming my time, and I ended up being the one to keep an eye on my youngest sibling since the school year began and our parent is working and HIS father is a fucking degenerate who can't keep off the alcohol to save his life.
"Sorry about Mixos." Nightwing said as the team went into Lex corps. "He's always an asshole."
"Don't feel so bad." Red hood picked up. "That was one of his good days. Normally, when he's that vocally angry, he'd just beat the shit out of you, kill you, turn you into one of his parasite-controlled 'workers,' or downright turn you down. Normally it's one of the first three."
"Lucky us then." Chris joked, not wanting to think of what Mixos could do. "So, all we'll have to do is talk to this 'Lex Luthor' character, and he'll fill us in on what Wesker is planning with this 'Amazo' and 'Solomn Grundy?'"
"Solomn Grundy is a zombie." Nightwing said, looking over. "He was a mafia member years ago, but he was killed, then dumped into a swamp. Every time he dies, he just comes back, but his personality changes every revival."
Chris and Jill looked at the large lobby, trying to figure out where Lex Luthor would be. The entire building was incredibly large, probably a hundred floors high. A Burnette woman walked up to the group, getting their attention.
"Hello, you must be the ones Mr. Luthor is waiting for." She said, trying to not sound rushed. "He's been told you were coming, please follow me."
As the group followed the woman, Chris and Jill looked at each other. Both of them wondered how Lex knew they were coming, one name ran through Chris' head, Mixos. While walking through the hallways, the B.S.A.A. members took note on how many people were watching them. It was strange to see all the eyes on them. Each door they walked past closed immediately.
The Burnette woman stopped infront of a trio of elevators. The two Ex-Robins stopped with her; the two anti-terrorism agents almost kept going without them before stopping next to the Burnette. The woman pressed a series of buttons, and the left-most elevator opened. The group piled in, not saying a word.
After a while, the elevator shook, and the lights started to flicker. Everyone heard screaming coming from outside the elevator, and just as quickly, the four heroes took action. Chris started to pry the elevator doors open, Night-wing used his staff to open a ceiling tile. Both of Batman's old sidekicks jumped through the opened ceiling tile and started to help Chris pry the door open.
Just as the door was open, Night-wing used his staff to keep it open as Jill and Chris made their way through. Just as the other two got through, and Night-wing grabbed his staff on the way out, they saw what was making the commotion. Before them was people running for the stairs, J'avo chasing them. A few of them noticed the heroes and pointed their guns at them.
Chris, Jill and Red hood took no time in getting into a shootout with the J'avo. Night-wing on the other hand started to evacuate everyone on the floor. Whenever a J'avo tried to attack the original Robin, they were either shocked by the electrical end of his staff or shot by his allies. Every time a limb of a J'avo was shot off, or whenever an almost inconsistent amount of the infected men took enough damage, they mutated into the same mutations that was found back in China and Central Europe.
These mutations were creepy, even for the two robins. Sure, they'd fought monsters like Grundy and the Joker, but these things were on the next level. They weren't as disturbing as Dark-side's parademons, but almost as strange.
"I swear, if Dark-side himself comes out of nowhere, I'm going to be angry." Nightwing said, tossing another J'avo to the side.
Before anyone could reply with anything, something fell through the ceiling. The thing that fell was tall, pale, almost zombie-like, and had a large claw on one hand. Jill and Chris took a double-take the moment they saw the monster; it was a tyrant.
"Takes us to that those times with Shinra, doesn't it?" Jill joked. Chris chuckled as he started to shoot at the tyrant.
The B.O.W looked over at Chris and Jill before turning over to them. As they continued to unload all their bullets onto the monster, Red hood grabbed a J'avo with grasshopper-like legs and broke its neck. The J'avo melted into a strange heap, and Red hood jumped off, straight onto another J'avo. For once since the Lazarus pit, he felt alive. There was just something about getting rid of literal monsters that amazing.
Just as he shoved a grenade into an J'avo's mouth, he saw the tyrant picking Nightwing up by the throat. Red hood tossed a shotgun over his shoulder and started shooting at the monster's exposed heart. The tyrant looked at Red hood and then threw Nightwing at him. Jason Todd caught the thrown hero. Just as he set the man down, he had to quickly duck due to seeing claws rushing towards him.
The tyrant went to grab Red hood but stopped in its tracks. It started roaring in pain, and it then its heart started to beat incredibly fast. The faster its heartbeat, the more painful the monster's roar seemed to be. Everyone in the room thought that the heart was going to explode, but a few moments, the organ just slowed down to a near stop.
Red hood, Jill, and Chris slowly reloaded as the tyrant fell to its knees. The monster slowly looked up at Batman's two old sidekicks. For a moment, they expected it to do something, but it slowly fell to the ground. The air stood still, no one moving an inch. After a moment of silence, Chris and Jill stepped over to the huge B.O.W and rolled it over onto its back. Chris took out a knife and started to cut the heart out.
Before he could even get an inch into the heart, it started to beat again. The tyrant opened its eyes and looked at Chris. Everyone got jumped back as the monster got up and started to yell. Before anyone could do anything, the tyrant started to grow. Fur started to grow all over its body, muscles started to appear all over it as well. It started to change into an animal-like beast.
"Another werewolf?" Jill asked as she grabbed a shotgun.
The tyrant then exploded in a red haze without warning.
"That was going to be ugly." Someone said. Everyone looked over and saw Lex Luther in a robotic suit. "Now that those freaks are out of my building, it's now open for business again."
"Lux, what the hell were these things doing here?" Nightwing asked, getting up.
"They wanted me to supply them with weapons." Lex said nonchalantly. "They then got a little aggressive when I declined."
"Cut the shit." Chris said, walking over to the man. "We were told you may have something to do with a thing called an 'Amazo.'"
Lex looked at Chris, somewhat confused. Looking the B.S.A.A operatives up and down, he gave them a dismissive smile.
"And you believed that lunatic's claim?" He asked, chuckling a little. "Did he even saw that that lumbering zombie and Ivo also is being put up to something? I've been staying on the good side of the law for a few years now."
"Like hell you have!" Nightwing said, standing up. "You tried to blow up the Flash museum with the reverse-flash a few months ago."
"I was forced to!" Lex spouted. "That speedster was threatening to destroy one of my ancestors if I didn't do what he says."
Nightwing and Red hood looked at Lex, not buying what he said. Lex wasn't even surprised by their expressions. Looking over at the two counter-terrorism operatives, a thought had hit him.
"Although I have no idea what this so-called 'Amazo' is, I could bring you four to Ivo. He could show you that this 'Amazo' doesn't exist, and Grundy isn't even in Metropolis."
The four looked at each other. They had no idea if they could trust Luther, but they had no choice but to follow him. As much as they just wanted to kill time by doing anything else until the deal the Joker and Wesker had in the docks, their hands were tied.
In the outskirts of Metropolis, in a tattered house.
A huge monster started to get up from a table. In the poor light, one would have thought it was Frankenstein's monster, but it was far worst. As the monster got off the table, it looked at the only visible door in the house.
"Solomon Grundy." The monster said, walking over to the door to the outside. "Born on a Monday."
And that's the end of this chapter. So, Resident evil 3's remake got released. I havn't got it, but eventually I will. I hope you like this chapter, I got done finishing a book I'm planning on publishing. That was the only thing taking up my time. That and COVID-19 is a thing, so be careful out there. Review and what not. See you next time.
