The Long Way Home

Wait for you in Pallet's square,

You said one day you'd meet me there.

Years gone by, you're still not here,

Are you in Johto? It's not clear.

Grass to the north, no exit gate,

Hear cries of spearows quite irate.

I see your mother sometimes pace.

In quiet worry is her face.

No word from you, not one phone call,

Once again the stroke of midnight falls.

I turn in, get into bed,

Filled with loneliness and dread.

My brother Blue now leads a gym,

These days, I rarely speak with him.

My grandpa's often out of town,

I greet the sunrise with a frown.

Full of heat is summer's light,

But these days, life isn't bright.

I miss the past, I still miss Blue.

And even more, I'm missing you.

Gave you a map, did you get lost.

Please consider isolation's cost.

Today I see your mum for tea,

Together we share misery.

Pallet Town's a lonely place,

My house, it now has too much space.

Glance once more at grass with dread,

I miss the past, I miss you Red.
