My Christmas angel
I walk around my home village
The winter season has finally arrived
A blanket of snow covering the earth
I see the town's people going on with their lives

I smell the aroma of fresh baked cakes and pies
I see the beauty of the homes adorned with bright Christmas lights
I hear the melodious voices of people singing carols
It was truly a marvelous sight
.
I see young children playing in the snow
Having blissful fun with no strife
Skating, sled-riding and snow ball fights
Such an innocent time in their life.

An innocence I did not know
My childhood was not pleasant
My Christmases were always alone
With no sweet cakes, no stockings and no presents
It was all I had ever known
.
As a child, at night I would pray
For Kami to send me an angel
So I could no longer be alone on Christmas day
To have someone to frolic in the snow with
To have someone to give a present to
And what's more
To have someone to say "Merry Christmas to you"
.
I wanted a Christmas angel
An angel of my own
One who would be there to greet me
When I finally arrived to my empty home
.
Kami answered my prayer
I was no longer alone
She has been my angel since the very start
I should have known
It all became clear when she made me that red scarf
.
I finally had my angel
My Christmas angel
She was more than I thought she could be
Her cakes and pies were always delicious and sweet
Her voice sings the loveliest of carols
Her warm smile could melt the very snow beneath my feet

She was more than I thought she could be
She gave me a present
A present meant only for me
And best of all
She says "Merry Christmas" to me

She is all my prayers come true
She is here to greet me each day and night
I thank Kami every day for bringing this angel into my life.
