The long awaited chapter - there has been a bit of a skip to get to this of course via the Marvel timeline but I've sped this up and skipped some things. It will get touched on later and some of the other characters will be introduced.

Also Harry and the gang and their time in space will be coming up as Ragnarok is one of my fav Marvel movies other than the first Cap movie and Avengers.

Enjoy and let me know if this hits you in the feels like it did for me.

Snap

Clint looked out the window, his hands on his bow.

The fighting had been going on for sometime. He wished he was out there, helping his friends and family but he knew he had to stay and protect his youngest.

Charlie and Harley were on the bed in the room, huddled together as Charlie let out whimpers.

Clint's eyes flicked from them and back to the battle. He knew Charlie was being affected by it all, why they had agreed to come here… he should have stayed home.

At home they were away from this, away from the fighting.

And Harry… he still had not heard from Harry and it had been nearly 2 months of silence.

He tried to look for Teddy, Wanda and Pietro in the fighting. He knew that they were old enough to fend for themselves but it didn't stop him worrying for their eldest children.

He was startled when a scream erupted from behind him, turning quickly to see Charlie clutching her hair in small fists as she screamed and screamed and screamed.

"Charlie!" Harley said as he tried to reach out and pull his twin closer, but found his hands were slowly disappearing into small flecks of black.

Clint rushed over to the bed, his hands coming to cradle his twins.

His hand went straight through Harley, who was slowly disintegrating into blackened spots, like ash.

"No, no, no, no," Clint muttered over and over as he tried to piece Harley back together who was fading, more and more disappearing as Clint tried to hold him together.

All the while Charlie kept screaming.

Clint turned to look for Nate, looking to his small crib in the room and the empty blanket, all that was left was a shadow of an imprint where his small body should have been.

"No, no, no, no."

Clint scrambled to keep Harley together, using all the strength he could to try and hold his small body in his hands.

It didn't stop, no matter what he did.

"Daddy…" Harley breathed out.

Clint choked back a sob as his son disappeared entirely, all that was left was a feeling of warmth in his fingers that clutched at empty air.

Clint screamed, his heart aching at the loss of two of his sons in the matter of minutes.

His voice eventually cracked and his pain died in his throat.

Gulping down lungfuls of air, he turned to his daughter, noting she had passed out, tears still leaking from her closed eyes.

Clint gathered her small body into his own, his own tears falling into her dark hair as he clutched her close, as if she too would disappear from his grasp if he didn't hold her tight enough.

The door burst open as Teddy stumbled through.

"Dad!" Teddy called desperately, blood smeared on his face and his eyes wide. His clothing was torn in places and his hands shook with magical exhaustion.

Clint let out a choked cry at the state his eldest was in. He was so glad he was alright.

Teddy stumbled forward, tearing up. "Dad, Wanda...she…"

Teddy looked around the room, noticing something was missing. "Where's Nate? And Harley?"

Clint shook his head and brought Charlie closer.

"Oh no…" Teddy whispered as tears began to fall freely. He had lost his girlfriend and two brothers in one moment.

Pietro came racing into the room, pausing to catch his breath. He too was covered in blood although he looked better than Teddy.

Pietro said only two words that had the others on their feet and running out the door.

"Harry's back."

Thanos smirked. "You should have gone for the head."

Snap.

Thor's eyes went wide.

It seemed as if the very air stilled.

Until it started.

People around them began to trip and stumble, their faces etched in surprised pain.

A gasp.

Someone screamed.

There was nothing but silence until a gust of wind came, blowing away the ashes of their friends.

"He didn't have to."

It was Thanos's turn as his eyes went wide. He looked down at the squelching sound.

A hand was punched through him entirely, his own heart beating in a clenched fist. Thanos coughed up a lump of clotted blood, his eyes on his heart that was slowly stilling.

The arm was suddenly pulled back through him, the pain searing as he gurgled out a moan. Thanos crumpled to the side and was still.

Harry stood behind Thanos, his eyes completely white. In his hand, the slowly beating heart was surrounded in black flame that licked up his arm.

"That was for them."

Harry breathed heavily, crushing the heart between his fingers till there was only a glowing blue ball of flame left in the centre of his palm.

"Harry…" Thor said with a grin. "You, you did it."

"It's not over yet," Harry said, looking at the blue flame in his hand. He stilled before he did the strangest thing. Harry proceeded to swallow the flame, grimacing as he shook his head at the feeling.

"What?" Steve said as he walked forward, his eyes flicking between Harry and the fallen Thanos.

His eyes turned to where Bucky had fallen, nothing there but a shade of a shadow on the ground.

Natasha rounded the tree she had been thrown over, shaking her head free of the concussion she knew was throbbing behind her eyes.

Her eyes fell to Harry, his eyes glowing white with power and his hair blowing in the wind. The flick of his magic was all around them, caressing their injuries and healing the wounds.

Soon the air settled and familiar green eyes returned.

"He's dead, don't worry." Harry said blankly, leaning over the body, pulling the gauntlet free.

Harry stared down at it, all the infinity stones in place.

"Harry!"

"Dad!"

Harry looked up as Clint came vaulting through the trees, his face lined with worry and fear. In his arms lay his baby girl. Close behind was Teddy being supported by Pietro with an arm around his waist.

He dropped the gauntlet and opened his arms.

"Oh love," Harry whispered as he was engulfed in the scent of his family.

Clint heaved, his whole body shaking.

"I couldn't- I couldn't save them, baby, they're…" Clint choked.

"I know my love, I felt it," Harry clung to Clint, his heart aching. He had felt his children fade away. "But I'll fix this. I promise."

Harry pulled back to kiss Clint chastely, taking Charlie from his arms before turning to Teddy.

"Come here, Ted, Pete," the two raced forward as well as Harry was engulfed in their arms.

He began to work on their wounds, sending out his magic.

"I'm here, you're alright," Harry murmured, knowing the two will need him more than Clint did, although he still felt his husbands hand on the small of his back, as if grounding him there.

"Dad, Harley, Nate and Wanda…" Teddy said, his head bowed to his father's shoulder, burying his nose into the side of his neck.

"I know. I'll get them back. I promise."

"How?" Steve asked as he looked around. So many of their friends and comrades had fallen. "Do we need to use the gauntlet to snap them back?"

"No," Harry shook his head. "No, while it wields a lot of power the stones were not made for that. I couldn't even imagine how much he's wiped out across the universes and galaxies, let alone just here on earth. No, I'll restore the balance the old fashioned way."

"Harry," Clint said softly. "Please, don't go again."

"Hush, love, I'm not going anywhere," Harry soothed, pressing back into the hand behind him. "I'll do it here."

"I don't understand," Natasha said. "If Thanos used it, so can we."

"I'd rather not risk one of you guys burning up. I can't think of any worse way to watch you throw your life away. No, I'll be able to do something with help from an old friend." Harry turned his eyes up to the sky. "I have a few cards up my sleeve, don't worry."

Harry closed his eyes, his magic seeping into Charlie as he eased her mind and dreams into a peaceful one.

His heart clenched at the thought of her going through all she had.

"Loki. Come here, please," Harry ordered.

The Avengers all stiffened as the God materialised next to Harry, melting into existence from nothing.

"Did you finish it?" Harry asked.

"I did. The Chitari are gone. Hel is escorting them to the realm." Loki said, his tone bland although his shoulders were tense as his eyes moved to stare at the group around them.

"What is he doing here?" Clint grit out.

"It's alright, Clint. I promise." Harry murmured. He stepped away from his eldest boys and turned to Loki.

"Keep her asleep and keep it contained." Harry instructed as he handed over Charlie into the God's arms.

Clint moved to step forward, his hand coming to the knife on his belt, but he stopped at the silent shake of Harry's head.

"I will." Loki murmured back although his eyes were on the small child he cradled in his arms. He shifted her to his chest, trying not to let the warmth he felt show on his face.

Harry turned back to his friends, leaning against Clint. "Sorry we were a bit late. We were held up while someone had to get a new toy because his sister broke his old one."

Thor let out an indignant squawk as Loki smirked. Harry chuckled at the confused looks on everyone's faces.

"Don't worry. A story for another time. I promise." Harry smiled sadly. "For now we rest, and then we get our kids back."
