Grimmel slowly lowered his crossbow. He gazed up in awe at the shadow atop the temple. This one was much large then those that swarmed the city square like a hive of bees. Dr. Mendoza came up behind the back of the truck.

"What is that?" She said, glancing up at Grimmel.

Grimmel did not respond. He only continued to peer up at the creature over the Temple. Could it be true. Could the legend of the creature which guards this valley be real?

Elena peered up in awe, knowing what it was.

"The Night Fury!" she said.

The Night Fury once more uttered it's bellowing screech. Elena, Skylar and Vestia filched at the creatures bellowing. Desperately, she covered her hands over her ears, pressing them tight to block out the sound of it's shrieking.

Hiccup flinched as he covered his ears.

Right then, the creature flapped it's wing and leaped from the top of the temple. It then flew down toward them. A bright purple light formed from it's gaping mouth.

"Look out!" Elena cried as she pointing up at it.

Quickly, they flew out of the way just in time for it to fly in between them. Elena turned and saw it flying down toward the humans below. .

Hiccup gasped as the Night Fury flew overhead. Suddenly it shot a purple bolt shot out from the beasts mouth. Grimmel's men quickly turned and ran as it's plasma bolt struck where they once stood, causing it to erupt in a sudden explosion.

Grimmel men quickly ran as the Night Fury fired it's purple fire blasts at them. Several explosions erupted behind them, causing many to jump out of the way. Grimmel quickly turned to Dr. Mendoza.

"Watch out!" he said, jumping off the back of the truck.

Quickly, he pushed her aside just at the the plasma bolt struck the truck, causing it to explode. The two leaned up as they glanced up at the truck. Right at that moment the beast flew overhead.

Chief Zephyr flew up from behind.

"Guardians!" he called to his fellow Guardians.

Elena, Slylar and Vestia glanced back at the chief.

"Fall back!"

The Chief and the other guardians turned as they flew off back to the Mooncliff. Vestia flew off after them, and just as Elena and Skylar were to follow, the princess glanced back at the people below. Seeing them running from the fires and the creature attacking, a part of her felt unwilling to leave.

While she wanted to follow Zephyr's orders and prove to her father she could be the responsible leader. She couldn't just leave them.

"Skylar wait!" she said.

Skylar stopped as he glanced back to his older sister.

"We can't just leave them." she claimed.

Skylar glanced up to his sister in shock.

"But sis..." he said.

"I know, Skylar." Elena insisted to him.

"But we just leave them while they're in danger."

Skylar narrowed his eyes.

"I don't know." he said, shaking his head.

"Please, Skylar." His sister pleaded with him.

He felt so conflicted as a future Guardian of the Valley. He still wasn't sure about the idea of helping the humans. But even still, she had a point. The humans didn't deserve to die in the fires of the Night fury.

He groaned, shaking his head.

"Alright!" he then said.

Elena smiled.

"Thank you, Skylar." she said.

Skylar turned and flew back toward the city square.

Hiccup made his way through the fire and smoke amidst the city square. Coughing as he covered his arm cover his mother, he peered ahead through the flames.

"Dr. Mendoza!" he called out.

"Anybody?!"

But he heard nothing. Nor could he see anything through the all the flames and smoke. Something flew overhead, causing him to glance up. But still he saw nothing. He glanced around the square. Unable to shake the notion that something was there.

"Hello?" He said

Suddenly there was a strange whirling sound from above. Her glanced up in the air and saw a bright purple light which outlined the jaws of the creature. Getting closer and closer by the second.

"Oh Thor!" Hiccup gasped before turning and running the other way.

The beast shot the plasma bolt down at him. Quickly he leaped out of the way before it struck the ground behind him. Hiccup landed flat over his stomach, groaning. A shadow passed over him. Slowly, he leaned off the ground and glanced up at the creature as it flew up over the nearby stairway. Turning in mid air, it landed down over the top of the stairway, peering down at him.

Hiccup got back up quickly, looking back up at the creature. Slowly he tried to back away. Only for the creature to growl and hunker down, bearing his teeth. Hiccup froze at the creatures snarling. Slowly the creature crept down the stairway. It leaped down over the plaza and slowly made it's way toward him.

Hiccup backed away slowly, holding up his hands. he stepped back over a piece of gravel, causing him to trip. He fell over his back. But quickly leaned up and glanced to the creature coming up to him. He slid back from the creature as it then came over him, growling. It leaned his head down over Hiccup, bearing his teeth as it growled.

Hiccup leaned back from the beast, closing his eyes and stretched out his hand in anticipated what was to follow.

When suddenly, it stopped.

The creature paused for a moment. It's bearing fangs were then concealed as it then tilted it's head, curiously. Hiccup opened one eye as he glanced to the creature. Seeing it staring at him, seemingly no longer hostile to him. He opened the other as he turned to the creature.

It uttered a humming like purr as it cocked it's head, peering at his hand with wide green eyes.

They then heard several voices off in the distance. It glanced off to the side, knowing the others were near. He could see them coming toward them through the flames. The beast turned and roared. Hiccup slid back as he slowly slid back from the beast and got back up.

The creature spread it's wings and flew up into the air. Hiccup was about to turn and run, when suddenly the creatures leaped down over him.

"Wow!" Hiccup cried.

He felt two large large claws grabbed him by his shoulders before being lifted into the air.

Skylar and Elena paused mid air. They saw the Night Fury fly up from the flames, carrying someone in it's two front legs. It looked like...

Elena gasped. It was the boy!

"Oh no!" she said.

Hiccup struggled in the grasp of the creature. He glanced down over the city square, trying desperately to call out for help.

"Help!" he called out.

"Help!"

But it was of no use. The Night fury had flew ahead into the air, over the nearby temple. It passed over the city and then flew off into the Night.

Skylar and Elena flew up into the gazed ahead at the Night Fury as it flew off with the human. Skylar glanced up to his sister.

"Where's it taking him?" He asked.

Elena shook her head.

"I don't know," she proclaimed to him.

"But we have to go after it!"

Skylar nodded his head in agreement.

"Hang on, sis." He said as he turned and flew after the Night Fury.

Grimmel and Dr. Mendoza walked out into the square. Most of the flames had died down for the most part. Several of his men were making their back to the trucks, aiding many who had been hurt. All while others recovered all the equipment that could be salvaged from the attack.

Grimmel paused for a moment, peeing up into the air. No longer were the stars blocked out by the shadows of the winged creatures that had attacked them. But now there was only smoke from the fire.

Mendoza came up from behind.

"What was that?" she asked, glancing to him.

Grimmel glanced back at the doctor.

"It would seem that we're not alone in this valley." he insisted to her.

"Dr. Mendoza!"

Grimmel and Mendoza turned and saw Astrid and Fishlegs coming up from one of the nearby temples.

"Mrs Hofferson," Grimmel said, turning to them.

"Are you alright?"

"We're fine." Astrid claimed.

Fishlegs came up from behind, his head wooing back and forth.

"Yeah, we're... fine." he said, before shaking his head.

Astrid then glanced around the square.

"Wait? she asked, turning back to them.

"Where's Hiccup?"
