"X-Ray down!"

Annette Durand of the XCOM Psi-Ops stepped onto the pedestal as her brothers and sisters that had fought alongside her the entirety of the Ethereal war fled under orders from herself.

". . .there was only blinding light for the longest time, faintly tinted purple, as I desperately attempted-and succeeded in teleporting myself off the temple ship. . ."

It's been several months, but the governments have finally stabilized, and the hatred and anger that is summoned traditionally is being poured into rebuilding what we had before. I've been told that the Xeno's won't return, along with everyone else, and because there's no other option, we choose to believe and hope in this. But a greater source of hope and joy in this desecrated world? My daughter is finally awakening, I've been told this morning, and pray to whatever, or whoever on the other side that she'll be fine.

News is being spread around, a new corps in the military, called the "Space Engineers." Annette was determined to join after her Psionic potential is nil, and was already a Support in the pool of Classes at XCOM.

The Governments are finally consolidating, as they realize just how much closer the world has become after the Ethereal war of 2012. The new central Government is going to be called the Terran Federation. I think they chose that name after realizing we're most definitely not alone in the universe, and the Ethereals are most likely not the only Xeno's out there.

They've figured out how to manufacture more Elerium for use in generating energy. Widespread introduction of Elerium power plants has already begun, and it appears that Humanity is entering a new Golden Age.

Mom died today. The doctors said it was lung cancer, stage four, when she was diagnosed. No hope. Always an optimist, she was, but it seems that she was right, as the Space Engineers corps has created the first Human Interplanetary ship, christened the

TFN Slingshot.

"Engineering, how're we doing down there!" Annette Durand questioned rather violently across the ship board comms. The ship proudly stood stationary in Earth orbit, awaiting the command to launch and herald in a new era of civilization.

"Everything holding steady! Nominal readings all around. We're clear to jump." came a reply from below decks.

"Coordinates set, Drive charged, cameras be rolling, let's jump!" exclaimed the Captain, Annette Durand, of the Space Engineers corps.

"It appears the TFN Slingshot is preparing to jump as we speak, this is a grand moment for humanity, as a whole ,and as individuals." The Anchor was turned, staring at the screen projecting the monumental event that was about to happen.

A small bubble of space around the TFN Slingshot warped slightly, and then snapped back to reality, minus one starship, After several minutes of complete and utter silence being broadcasted, a female voice came in amongst cheering.

"Houston, we are most definitely, not, in trouble."

The celebrations across the globe happened instantly, as most everyone respectively started throwing parties and cheering for the new strides Humanity had made.
