Here is the 61st oneshot in my Miraculous Revelations series. Yes I am back and on the 2nd anniversary of this series, hence why I have decided to upload this one today. There is a reason for the lengthy delay in uploading and I will address it in a lengthy post chapter author's note, along with a question regarding the future of this series. I will wait until then to rant as I do not want to hold y'all up at this point, especially as many of you have been waiting a while for a new oneshot in this series. This nice, short, oneshot was suggested a while back by the same person who deserves as much credit as I do for the variety in this series. Without further adieu, sit back and enjoy the latest oneshot in this series, Sleepover.

Disclaimer: I own nothing related to this show.

Sleepover - Nino has invited Adrien over for a sleepover, his first. He has also invited Alya and Marinette over and of course Alya has plans for Marinette and Adrien. Adrien can't wait for his first sleepover and all that it entails; games, fun, friends, and of course a scary movie. All he has to do is persuade his father to let him go and then he can finally be a normal teen, if just for a night. What could go wrong?

Sleepover

"Father, may I have a word?" Adrien asked as he popped his head into his father's office, after first knocking to make sure they knew he was there.

"What is it son, I am very busy here." Gabriel Agreste said from his desk not even bothering to look up from the designs he was inspecting on his computer. "Well, be quick about it."

"Er, yes, well you see…" Adrien began hesitantly, rubbing the back of his neck nervously as he entered the room but stayed close to the door. "My friend Nino is having a sleepover tonight and I was wondering if I could, you know, go. It's a normal teenage thing to do and I want to spend time with my friend."

"That isn't wise Adrien." Gabriel said bluntly still not looking at him. "You know the rules."

"Yes, but I was hoping for an exception this time." Adrien persisted, trying not to get frustrated at his father. "There are no shoots scheduled for the next few days, I am on top of all my extra curriculars, and there is no school for another week. Please father, this is what normal teens do."

"You are not a normal teen though; you are my son." Gabriel replied. "And I said no."

"You can't keep me locked up in here forever you know." Adrien said angrily. "I need to be a normal teen. Do you want me to resent you?"

"Of course, not son, I am just trying to protect you." Gabriel said with a sigh as he finally looked at Adrien, weariness etched on his face. "This is for your own good."

"I know dad, I know you are only doing what you think is best for me and I am grateful for that but I need to be a normal teen." Adrien said softening his tone. "I should be allowed to spend time with my friends, especially if I have done all my other commitments first."

"Nathalie, is this true?" Gabriel asked his ever-present assistant.

"It is sir." Nathalie said looking at her tablet that she had been tapping on all this time. "Adrien has no shoots scheduled for a few days as most magazines have what they need for their next issue. He has also done all his school work for the first week of school, his next fencing class is in 2 days, he mastered the latest piano piece, and his Chinese lessons are all up to date."

"Very well." Gabriel relented. "Just this once I will allow it. However, I want you to be back tomorrow morning, you will show me that latest piano piece. I expect it to be perfect."

"It will be dad." Adrien said happily. "I promise. Thank you."

Before his father could say anything else, Adrien had closed the door and left his father alone. He had already packed a bag and told Nino he was coming regardless of what his father had said. At least this way he didn't have to turn into Cat Noir and sneak out, though that would have been fun as well.

"Dad said yes." Adrien said with a smile at his bodyguard who just grunted at that as Adrien grabbed the bag he had left just outside his dad's study. "Let's go to Nino's."

The bodyguard just grunted again and held the door for Adrien. Adrien hefted his overnight bag and headed to the door. A moment later he was in the car and the bodyguard was driving off, heading for Nino's.

Nino had messaged him a few hours ago saying that his parents were out of town and his brother was staying with a friend so they would have the whole place to themselves. That meant one thing; it was time for a teenage sleepover. Marinette and Alya would be there as well so it would be their usual group hanging out and enjoying a staple of the teen experience. Adrien quickly sent a message to Nino confirming that he could make it and that he was already on his way.

Adrien was just glad he could persuade his father to let him go. Finally, he was going to have a normal night as a teen. It was only one night but it was one that Adrien was going to make the most of. Hopefully it would be a night to remember and cherish for a while.

It only took a few minutes for his bodyguard to drive Adrien to Nino's place. That was the advantage of having a bodyguard from Paris, the man knew how to handle the roads of Paris like a pro and get Adrien from A to B without a problem, well so long as there wasn't an akuma attack along the way that was.

"Yo dude, you made it!" Nino exclaimed as Adrien got out of the car and fist bumped his waiting best friend. "I didn't believe it until I saw you."

"I came as soon as dad said I could." Adrien said as the car drove off but Adrien had a feeling that his bodyguard was not too far away, he never was. "Before he could change his mind and keep me at home instead."

"That's great, come on in." Nino said as he lead the way into the apartment complex and up to his family's place. "The girls aren't here yet, Alya said something about getting ready first, you know how girls can be, so it is just us dude's for the moment."

"Sweet." Adrien said with a smile as they entered Nino's place and went to the living room. "So, what is the plan? This is my first sleepover."

Adrien noticed that the living room was set up for something, he just wasn't sure what. Nino's sound deck was in a corner and already playing his chill playlist. The TV was on and set to a streaming service with several films lined up for them to enjoy. Lastly a console and four controllers was laid out with the latest Ultimate Mecha Strike game ready to go.

"It will be a typical sleepover." Nino said as Adrien sat on the large, U-shaped, sofa. Nino continued talking as he set up the console so they could play a few games right away. "You know, gaming, music, horror films with popcorn when night falls, maybe even a little vodka I managed to swipe from my parents' stash if y'all are down."

"Sounds good to me, I intend to enjoy myself." Adrien said as he accepted a controller from Nino. "I have never been to one of these before and I can't wait to enjoy as much of it as possible."

"Well let's start with me schooling you in this." Nino said with a smirk as he sat down next to Adrien on the sofa. "I have been practicing so I can beat you at last."

"In your dreams." Adrien said with a smirk of his own. "Only Marinette can beat me."

For the next hour or so Adrien just played with Nino. He let Nino win a few times, just to help his friend's ego, though Adrien had to admit that his best friend had gotten a lot better and at times almost beat Adrien without Adrien throwing the match. All this time they were really just killing time while they waited for the girls to arrive. The only thing Nino hadn't said, and that Adrien had forgotten to ask about, was sleeping arrangements.

"It's horror film time!" Alya suddenly exclaimed after another Mecha Strike tournament that Marinette only barely won.

They had all been playing games and relaxing for a few hours now, the girls having arrived about an hour after Adrien. Since then Marinette had proven that she was the best at Mecha Strike, not to anyone's surprise, Nino was the best dancer, Alya the best cook as she had made them dinner, and Adrien was just there to enjoy himself with his close friends. Now, though, night had fallen and it was time to gather up on Nino's sofa and watch one of the horror films that had been lined up for the night.

"But I don't like horror films." Marinette protested.

"Marinette, they are a staple of a sleepover." Alya said as she selected the film that she wanted to watch and cuddled up to Nino on one side of the sofa while Adrien and Marinette sat at the other side. "We have to watch one."

"I'm not a big fan of them as well but this is my first sleepover so I want to do it right." Adrien said giving Marinette a friendly smile. "Please, it is just this once and you are amongst friends."

"Only if I can cuddle you if I get scared." Marinette said then went bright red for some reason and stammered. "I mean, you know, it might be, and well you are here, and…"

"It's alright Marinette, I am here if you need me." Adrien said understanding her reaction. She just needed a friend there and he would be that friend.

"Thank you." Marinette mumbled not looking at him.

"Good, that is settled then." Alya said with a wicked grin on her face that Adrien assumed was for the horror film they were about to watch. "Let us start the film."

Without any hesitation, Nino started the film. It wasn't some cheesy horror flick that Adrien had been expecting them to watch, no, it was a full-on gore filled, suspense, horror film. It was clearly not meant for them but somehow Nino had gotten his hands on it and they were enjoying it.

Well the couple were, Marinette was not and had almost instantly cuddled up to Adrien as soon as the first sign of gore hit the screen. Adrien, being the good friend that he was, had put his arm around Marinette and held her close, making sure that it was in an acceptable fashion and that Marinette was always comfortable. She seemed to be so Adrien settled back and enjoyed the film, even if it disturbed him a little.

Adrien had not realized how late it was when they had started the film. However, it was already dark when it started and by the end of it, it was well past midnight. The film ended and the screen returned to the home menu and Adrien was about to stretch and try and to figure out what was going on with the sleeping arrangements when he realized there was a problem. Marinette was still cuddling him and she had fallen asleep on him at some point during the film.

Adrien looked down at her and realized that she was fast asleep and looked very comfortable there. Adrien didn't want to disturb her, it just seemed wrong to do so, so he decided to just leave her. He then looked over at Nino and Alya and realized that both of them were asleep as well. Adrien was stuck like this so he decided to make the most of it and leaned back into the couch and closed his eye. He may as well try to sleep like this as well and deal with the awkward situation when they woke up.

After a few minutes Adrien realized that it wasn't working. It wasn't that it was uncomfortable, in fact it felt right having Marinette cuddle him and sleep on him and made him wish that she was Ladybug and wonder what it would be like to have his lady sleep on him. No, Adrien just wasn't tired. That and as he was about to fall asleep Marinette suddenly began to twitch against him.

"No, no, you will not win." Marinette muttered, her eyes screwed up and Adrien suddenly realized that Marinette was having a nightmare, likely from the film. "We will win, we always win."

Adrien had no idea how to help her. Marinette looked distressed and he wanted to aid her but Adrien couldn't think of what to do that would help Marinette. All he could think of was to try and wake her and then reassure her that it was just a dream.

"Marinette, it's just a dream." Adrien gently whispered to her trying to help. "It isn't real. Just wake up."

Adrien had no idea would happen when he woke Marinette, if he even could. What did happen was something that Adrien would never have expected, not in his wildest dreams, pun intended.

Marinette was running through the dark streets of Paris as an akuma tore the city apart. This was the worst, the scariest, and the most bloodthirsty one that Hawkmoth had ever created and it was destroying half the city as it tried to find her. It was just like the villain in the horror film that Marinette had been watching but she knew that this time it was real and she needed to help to defeat it. Then she heard his voice.

"Marinette." It was Adrien's voice but it seemed to come from a distance so she only heard a few words of what he was trying to say to here. "It isn't real ... wake up."

Adrien was there, he was at risk and Marinette needed to help him. There was an akuma out there and it was likely after Adrien and this time it might actually kill him. Marinette needed to act and act now. This was why she had been chosen. Diving into an alley for cover, Marinette opened her mouth.

"Tikki, spots on!" Marinette yelled in her sleep and then everything changed.

Adrien had been trying to wake Marinette and reassure her that it was just a nightmare and not real. This had led to her yelling what Adrien knew to be Ladybug's activation phrase. It made no sense. That was until a pink blur shot out of Marinette's bag and into her earrings with a yelp of shock and surprise.

All Adrien could do was stare in utter shock and disbelief as Marinette changed into Ladybug right in front of his eyes. It also wasn't just Adrien's eyes. Marinette's yell had woken Alya and Nino and they had all seen the transformation.

Marinette was now standing only she was now transformation had woken her up and Marinette was wide awake, looking around with a look of confusion on her face. That was until she realized where she was, who was with her, and the fact that she had just transformed in front of them. There was only one word Marinette that could say to sum up her situation.

"Merde."

There was no way out of it, there was no denying it, Marinette was Ladybug and had just shown it to them. She was also Adrien's lady and the love of his life but that could wait. There was a lot to process and few important conversations to have first. However, before anything else, Adrien had to do something to put Marinette at ease. There was only one thing he could do and Adrien did it without hesitation.

"Plagg, claws out."

As always I couldn't resist a little cliffhanger at the end of one of these oneshots. This was a nice, easy, short oneshot for y'all to enjoy on this second anniversary of this series. There is little else to put here so it is onto the author's note explaining my long absence and ending with a question for y'all.

A/N: I could give the usual excuses for my delay, you know the usual life shit that prevents writing but that is only part of it, the other part has been the nature of the show and my writing style. At first it was the consistent delays for the episodes that sapped my desire, then it was the direction of the show and that was what what the nail in the coffin was for my ability to write more. As y'all know, I try my hardest to stick to canon as much as possible, especially when it comes down to the mechanics of the the show and how certain things work, pairings, and what not. One of those things that I am loyal to is the nature of the miraculouses and all that. This has actually led to at least one proposal for a oneshot to be rejected as I felt it was not consistent with Hawk Moth's powers. It has also led to the cancellation of one oneshot the week it was set to come out. Right before the 'Animaestro' episode came out, the oneshot in my list that was set to be written and released was called 'Braid' and involved the reveal being based on Marinette's hairstyle when she transformed but that episode voided that possible reveal and it was scrapped. Naturally a few oneshots have been made non canon after the fact, such as "Quiet' and 'Miraculous' being made non canon by "Silencer' and 'Desperita' respectively (though I was totally right about the latter and that was purely coincidental). This was all acceptable to me and I was preparing for a massive oneshot streak in November and then 'Kwami Buster' came out. I will not spoil that episode but suffice it to say that the events of that episode made this entire series non canon. That combined with the events of 'Chat Blanc' and the season 3 finale were a lot to handle and sapped my desire.

That is my explanation for my delay in uploading. I am willing to continue this series and base it around the middle of season 3 prior to the non canon stuff so that is what I want to know, do y'all want that? If so I will resume my oneshots though they may not be as frequent as I do have to focus on finishing the draft Book 4 and starting the draft of Book 5 of my primary fanfic series during this time. However, I do now have the time and limited excuses to not continue. Thank you for bearing with me, please do let me know and like, review, and follow this series. Until next time.
