New and Old Friend, Planning an Investigation

Glynda and Ozpin are standing close to the window of his office seeing a few Atlas battle fleets flying pass the building and over the academy, the sight annoys Glynda that she wants to look away.

"Ironwood certainly loves bringing his work wherever he travels." Glynda exclaimed.

"Well, running an academy and a military makes him a busy man. But yes, those are a bit of an eyesore." Ozpin agreed, then he heard a beeping sound seeing a hologram screen with the words "Access Request" on it.

"Come in." Ozpin called out to the door.

A man steps out of the elevator revealing himself to be the man Ironwood Glynda and Ozpin were just talking about.

Ironwood is shown to be well dressed and clean, much like Ozpin. He wears a white overcoat, with a gray undercoat, black sweater, a red necktie, and a white glove on his right hand. His suit pants share the same color as his overcoat and are tucked into silver boots accented in gray. His hair is black, with some gray areas, while his eyebrows are solid black. He has a strip of silver metal above his right eyebrow.

"Ozpin!" Ironwood greeted with a warm smile.

"Hello, General." Ozpin greeted back.

"Please, drop the formalities, you know you can call me James." James said as he and Ozpin shake hands and Glynda approach him.

"It's been too long. And Glynda! It has certainly been too long since we last met." James flirted a little.

"Oh, James!" Glynda rolled her eyes, not in the mood. "I'll be outside." She walked outside to let them have a moment to themselves.

"Well, she hasn't changed a bit." James commented.

"So, what in the world has brought you all the way down from Atlas? Headmasters don't typically travel with their students, for the Vytal Festival." Ozpin asked as he sit at his desk and handed James a mug with coffee in it.

"Well, you know how much I love Vale this time of year. Besides, with you hosting, I thought that this might be a good opportunity for us to catch up." Jame explained.

"I can certainly appreciate the quality time between friends, however, a small fleet outside my window has me concerned." Ozpin pointed out.

"Well, concerned is what brought them here." James said looking down at his cup.

"I understand that travel between kingdoms has become increasingly difficult." Ozpin stated.

"Oz, you and I both know why I brought those men." James said with a serious look on his face.

Ozpin took a drink before setting the mug down and speaking again.

"We are in a time of peace. Shows of power like this are just going to give off the wrong impression." Ozpin reminded his old friend.

"But if what Qrow said is true...'

"If what Qrow said is true, then we will handle it tactfully." Ozpin interrupted James's sentence. "It's the Vytal Festival. A time to celebrate unity and peace. So, I suggest that you not scare people by transporting hundreds of soldiers halfway across the continent."

"I'm just being cautions." James said.

"As am I. Which is why we will continue to train the best Huntsmen and Huntresses we can." Ozpin believed.

"Including that Arc boy, you mentioned in your message?" James asked.

"Jaune has proven himself to be a great student with much more potential than I original imagined when he came to my school with a fake transcript." Ozpin nodded with confident.

"Still having the big heart as always, so how many of those Chaos Emerald has he collected so far?" James asked.

"Three I believe, only four more to go." Ozpin answered honestly.

"I see, he managed to find them while in his first semester. Not bad, though I doubt the other four will be easy to find." James stated.

"I know, which is why I have also been thinking of adding Jaune within our secret rank." Ozpin mentioned shocking the general.

"Are you serious? Don't you think that's a little earlier for that?" James asked.

"I believe Jaune would be a great addition to our cause, besides we might be running out of time if the enemies are moving toward us." Ozpin explained.

"Alright, I'll go along with this. But ask yourself this: Do you honestly believe your children can win a war?" James asked before finishing his drink and walking out the office.

"I hope they never have to." Ozpin sighed.

(Library)

Jaune and his team are doing a little reading and studying, well, most of them because Nora is sleeping on some books and Jaune is reading a comic book until Pyrrha took it and handed him a history book on leaders on the battlefield.

"Pyrrha, come on." Jaune begged to have his comic book back.

"I love you, Jaune, but you need to keep up with your grades." Pyrrha scolded a little.

"How come they get to have fun?" Jaune asked gesturing at team RWBY playing a board game, though it looks like Blake isn't even interested in the game at all.

"Ruby, you should be setting a better example like making sure you're doing any studying." Pyrrha scolded her too.

"That's what I said!" Weiss responded.

"Shut up, I'm trying to beat Yang." Ruby said.

"In like never." Yang smiled.

"'Sup losers." Sun greeted, walking to the two teams with his hand up in a peace sign.

"Hey, Sun." Ruby greeted.

"Ruby, Jaune, Yang, Blake... Ice Queen." Sun smirked at Weiss calling her that nickname.

"Why does everyone keep calling me that?" Weiss asked irritated of that nickname.

"I never got a chance to formally introduce you to my old friend." Sun said showing Neptune to everyone.

"Uhh, aren't libraries for reading?" Neptune asked.

"Thank you!" Ren said in relief throwing his arm up.

"Pancakes!" Nora said suddenly waking up from his nap.

"Shut up. Don't be a nerd." Sun mocked.

"Geh, geh, geh, geh! "Intellectual", okay? Thank you." Neptune corrected his partner, then turn to everyone waving. "I'm Neptune."

"So, Neptune, where are you from?" Weiss asked curious.

"Haven." Neptune answered as he approaches her.

"And I don't believe I've caught your name, snow angel." Neptune complimented her.

"Um, I'm Weiss." Weiss stuttered a little bit.

"Looks like someone is feeling her heart melting." Jaune joked whispering to Pyrrha as she giggles softly.

"Pleasure to meet you." Neptune smiled.

"I never took you as the board game playing type." Sun said.

"Right, well, I think I'm done playing actually. I'll see you guys later." Blake shoved Sun aside and leaves the library.

"Women." Nora shrugged as everyone looks at her.

(Later)

"Ugh, I knew we shouldn't let you play." Yang angered while walking in the hallway with hers and Jaune's team heading to their room.

"It's not my fault my skills are better than yours." Jaune grinned.

"You're just mad cuz' the new guy beat you! See, if you had just attacked when I told you none of this would have happened." Ruby pointed out.

"Even that wouldn't stop me from claiming your kingdom." Jaune bragged.

"You already claimed my heart before." Ruby muttered blushing a little, Pyrrha is the only one who heard that and smiles.

"(It won't be long now, Jaune will be in for a big surprise.)" Pyrrha thought giggled.

"It was still fun seeing Weiss struggling so bad at the boardgame." Nora laughed.

"Shut up, I never play any board game before, alright!" Weiss mentioned.

As Team RWBY enter their room, they saw Blake getting up from her bed and about to leave.

"Stop." Weiss pointed her finger, stopping Blake from leaving.

"Lately you've been quiet, antisocial and moody!" She pointed out.

"Which I get is kind of your thing, but you've been doing it more than usual! Which quite frankly, is unacceptable! You made a promise to me, to all of us, that you would let us know if something was wrong!" Weiss stated before flipping backward.

"So, Blake Belladonna, what is wrong!?" Weiss pointed her finger at Blake again, and shown that she is standing on a chair before quickly putting it back to the desk.

Blake took a moment to think that Wiess is right about the promise they made back at the dock before break and decided to come clean.

"I just, I don't understand how everyone can be so calm." Blake said.

"You're still thinking about Torchwick?" Ruby asked, approaching her a little.

"Torchwick, the White Fang, all of it! Something big is happening and no one is doing anything about it!" Blake complained that there hasn't been any word about the White Fang's activate so far.

"Ozpin told us not to worry. Between the police and the Huntsmen, I'm sure they can handle it." Yang reassured her teammate.

"Well I'm not! They don't know the White Fang like I do!" Blake stated.

"Okay, between blowing up nightclubs, stopping thieves, and fighting for freedom, I'm sure the three of you think that you're all ready to go out and apprehend these ne'er-do-wells!" Weiss stated.

"Uh, who?" Ruby confused of that last part.

"But let me once again be the voice of reason. We're students! We're not ready to handle this sort of situation!" Weiss reminded them.

"Well, yeah but…" Ruby believed they can handle it.

"We're not ready!" Weiss repeated.

"And we may never be ready! Our enemies aren't just going to sit around and wait for graduation day. They're out there, somewhere, planning their next move, and none of us know what it is, but it's coming! Whether we're ready or not!" Blake worried extremely that the White Fang group is going to do something horrible if they are not stop sooner than later.

Instantly, Ruby got an idea to help ease Blake's worries.

"Okay, all in favor of becoming the youngest Huntresses to single-handedly taking down a corrupt organization conspiring against the Kingdom of Vale... say aye." Ruby announced exciting.

"Yes! I love it when you're feisty!" Yang agreed.

"Well, I suppose it could be fun." Weiss decided to go with this as well.

"None of you said aye!" Ruby muttered.

"Aye!" Nora shouted shocking team RWBY seeing all of team JNPR right outside their door.

"Uh, how long have you guys been standing there?" Yang asked nervously.

"Since we came here, and the door was left open." Ren answered.

"And we would like to join you." Pyrrha added.

"Guys, I appreciate more helping hands, but I don't want to involve any more friends into my problems." Blake said.

"Well, too bad because I got involve with you since the fight with the dock and I found another Chaos Emerald, so I was thinking maybe they might have a lead or two about the others." Jaune mentioned.

Blake's eyes widen as she is hit in the face by realization that Jaune will get involve with the White Fang whether she was okay with it or not, and even his team is on board with it which means she can't say no to that.

"Alright, you guys can come." Blake surrendered.

"Awesome! Beware villains, Nora the Thunder Queen is coming for you!" Nora shouted in excitement.

"Calm down, Nora, I'm sure you'll get the chance to beat the guys as soon as we put our heads together." Jaune said.

"Now that the two teams are together, let's hatch a plan!" Ruby declared.

"Yeah!" Yang and Nora shouted at the same time.

"I left my board game at the library!" Ruby gasped, realizing about her boardgame they were playing earlier.

"We're doom." Weiss facepalmed.

"I'll be right back!" Ruby dashed out of the room.

"Ruby, be careful you might run"

"Ow!"

"Someone." Jaune sighed and quickly run to her side.

"Sorry. Are you okay?" Ruby apologized.

The person Ruby bump into is Cinder who is Roman's secret boss and has infiltrated the school posing as a student with her young look along with two of her subordinates.

"It's okay, I can tell you were in a hurry for something. So, I can't blame you." Cinder assured.

"Huh, I don't think I've seen you guys around before." Jaune said.

"We're students from Haven, this girl you just bumped into is Cinder Fall, I'm Emerald Sustrai." Emerald introduced herself and Cinder.

Emerald is a young woman with medium-brown skin and dark-red eyes. Her hair is a light, mint-green with a straight fringe and bangs as well as two long locks on each side in the back. She wears two bronze-colored rings on her middle fingers as well as a pair of strappy high-heeled pumps. She is wearing the Haven Academy uniform, a more conservative dark gray outfit with a long-sleeved collared top and white armband. Breasts sizes: E-cup.

"And this guy is Mercury Silver." Emerald gestured toward Mercury.

Mercury is a pale, well-built young man with silver-grayish hair and eyes. He wears the Haven Academy uniform, which consists of a dark gray outfit with a long-sleeved collared top, black pants, and a white armband.

"What's up?" Mercury greeted.

"Well, nice to meet you guys, I'm Jaune Arc and this little red cutie is Ruby Rose." Jaune introduced himself and Ruby without realizing he just called her a cutie.

"(He just called me a cutie!)" Ruby thought blushed.

"(Hmm, so this is the young Huntsman in training Roman told me about. He may not look much on the outside, but there is definitely something… more about him.)" Cinder thought, checking Jaune out sensing him as a threat and quite handsome looking too.

"(Wait, did I really just thought of him as handsome?)" Cinder thought questioned herself.

"So, you guys enjoying Beacon Academy?" Jaune asked.

"So far, it's good." Mercury shrugged.

"You're here for the festival! But exchange students have their own dormitory." Ruby mentioned.

"I guess we just got turned around." Mercury joked.

"Happens all the time, it took me a while to get use to this place." Jaune chuckled.

"Uh, your building is just east of here." Ruby pointed to where the building it.

"Thanks. We'll see you around." Cinder said as she and the other two walks away.

"Welcome to Beacon!" Ruby said.

Cinder secretly form an evil smile on her face and her eyes glow amber.

Jaune suddenly felt sharp and strong presence in his head, he turns around as his sensor is telling him the weird energy reading he's getting is coming from Cinder, but the strangest part is that it's not Chaos energy like his powers and the Chaos Emeralds.

"Something tells him Cinder isn't exactly what she seems to be." Jaune whispered to himself before he and Ruby went back to their rooms turning in for the night.

Jaune made a mental note to himself to keep an eye out for Cinder because something bad is going to happen and she maybe involve in that.

(Unknown Location)

In a very dark room where it only has a single window showing the broken moon as its light shines through it showing a lone figure wearing a black and pale-blue cloak is sitting in the middle of the meditation. He is focus his mind on channeling his power as his body starts to float off the floor about five feet high and thinking about a certain young man that he got from Roman's report.

"Jaune Arc. To think there would be another being with the same powers as me, but I doubt he even knows how to truly tap into the power of Chaos, the power to destroy all." The mysterious man said and snap his eyes open revealing them to be red sclerae and lighter green irises. They are also glowing of dark-purple demonic-like aura.
