I do not own TVD or TO. I posted this story a while ago and just recently revised it. I added a little more as well.

Elena fidgeted in her seat. She cringed when her body rocked precariously back and forth. Her eyes darted from side to side as her breath came out in quick pants.

"Mmmm," Elena chewed on her bottom lip and curled forward in an effort to protect herself. She squealed when the movement tilted her forwards so that she was staring at the ground; the too far away ground. "We're gonna die. We are going to die!"

"Elena," Elijah wrapped an arm around her shoulders pulling her closer; her body trembled against him. She did not relax. Instead she looked up at him and ran her fingers through her hair.

"No," her eyes were wide with fear, her lower lip trembled. "This is where I die. I'm trying to accept that. This is wh- "

She was cut off by his lips pressing firmly against her own. Her mouth dropped open in shock; he took advantage of the situation and deepened the kiss. Elena moaned when he nibbled on her lower lip.

"You kissed me," Elena gasped when he pulled back. She stared at him with raised eyebrows; her eyes were comically wide.

"Yes," he quirked an eyebrow and smirked, "I think I did."

"There are so many issues with that," Elena leaned back to regard him with narrowed eyes. She lunged back and grabbed his arm when the movement caused her stomach to lurch.

"We are literally about to die, and you kiss me." She covered her eyes with her hand and peered out through her fingers. "I should not be experiencing so much turmoil before I die."

"Elena," he gently removed her hand from her face and cupped her chin forcing her to look at him.

"Firstly, you need to relax: we're on a Ferris wheel, also you can't die, you're a vampire. Secondly, I like you."

"You're not helping my anxiety," she whispered peering into his laughing eyes. "Kiss me again."

He happily obliged. This time Elena kissed him back, she wrapped one arm tightly around his neck to pull him closer.

"I like you, too," Elena tilted her head back to look at him. A flush had taken over her face, she leaned forward to kiss him again with parted lips. She only pulled back when she felt something hit the side of her head; it was Caroline's shoe.

"Are you too going to get off the Ferris wheel anytime soon?" Kol and Klaus snickered behind her.

Three hours later when Elena and Elijah had retired to the living room in the compound he finally asked the one question that had been eating away at him since they left the fair with Hope.

"Elena, why did you insist on the Ferris wheel if you're afraid of heights?" He gently stroked her arm.

"I thought I got over it when I turned," Elena admitted with a small laugh. "Also, I didn't think you'd let me drag you on a roller coaster."

"I'd let you 'drag me' anywhere." Elijah chuckled. He tilted her chin up with his knuckle to brush his lips against hers.

"Oh," Elena grinned, "you shouldn't have said that." She arched an elegant eyebrow, "that opens up a whole realm of possibilities."
