A/n~ I am very sleep deprived and angsty as hell so I wrote this quick thing to cope?

Enjoy my angst~

Keith glanced over at the door as it swooshed shut after Lance had left in a hurry.

He felt hollow inside, like his entire soul had been sucked from him. It left him with a sick taste in his mouth and a twisting feel in his gut.

Earth was gone.

Keith needed to know if Lance was okay. For a full varga Keith had just gone through the stages of grief. His planet, his bitter past home, was gone. Destroyed at the push of a button of the galra's fleet ship.

As Keith entered the observation room he found Lance was sitting by the window. A knot tied up in his stomach as he watched the blue paladin.

Lance had a family. He had a life, he had friends and an actual home that he had felt homesick for ever since they first ventured into space. Keith had none of that, his only family came with him when they left.

Lance though. Lance had lost everything he had once cared for.

Silently, Keith walked up beside him and sat down, not daring to look Lance in the eye. Outside the window were the remains of what Earth used to be. Pieces of debris and water floating around, waiting to be lapped up with time. The moon stood there, barely moving…and why should it? It couldn't really orbit something that didn't exist anymore.

The other planets weren't so much as touched. They were giant orbs in the sky just past the glass in front of his face. Keith heard a quiet sniffle beside him and he finally tore his eyes away from the seas of stars to look at his teammate.

Lance looked worse than Keith felt. Tears were still streaming down his face and his eyes were red from possibly a full varga of crying. A peice of Keith's heart broke even more at the sight.

"They– they're all gone."

Keith found his eyes meeting blue, still watery with tears.

"All the seas, Cuba, my friends. My– my fami–" Lance breathed out a shaky breath as he brought up a hand to cover his eyes and wipe away the water on his face. "Everybody that I cared about, that cared about me. Gone."

Keith hummed and felt his own tears prick at the back of his eyes. He put his arm around Lance and shook his head. "Not everybody."

Lance hugged him back. The angle was awkward but if it was helping Lance then Keith would take the nails digging into his arm. Keith's shirt was becoming wet with tears but he doubted that he cared. The boy in his arms needed some comfort, and hell, Keith was going to give it.

Sure, Hunk and Shiro and Pidge took it hard, but Keith couldn't even imagine what Lance was going through.

"The beach I first surfed on. My neices and nephew…they were so young." A sob escaped from him and Keith squeezed harder.

"It's going to be okay. Eventually it will," Keith said, his mind instantly flicking to what the therapists and social workers had all said and repeated to him. "Maybe not now, but it will."

"But when?!" Lance took a fist of Keith's shirt. "I can't wait long enough. I can't just wait for it to stop hurting."

Keith felt a tear slide down his face as he took his boyfriend's face in his hands. The blue eyes gazed back at him, still filled with tears, and no doubt that they would be full of tears for a while yet.

"I'll wait with you." He put on a bittersweet smile for Lance, and he saw Lance give him a sad smile in return. Grieving took time, but god he'd wait with him. He was sure they all would.

As a team.
