Disclaimer : For the first and last time, the author of Boku no Hero Academia is Horikoshi Kouhei.

'The life of ordinary people without quirk may be painful, but it's not like having a quirk is that great,' she pondered to herself silently, her gaze was to her notebook but she was barely reading anything.

'Having a really powerful and inspiring quirk means you are expected to do great and helpful things to make others' lives better. If you don't you'll be called selfish and heartless.'

'But if your quirk is disturbing or hard to accept - it doesn't have to be capable of causing physical and/or mental harm - then people will be wary and cautious of you, want nothing to do with you, or worse, want you to disappear and not be in their lives… even if you've done nothing and you have nothing less than good intention.' Her eyes couldn't help but glance at her classmate who sat diagonally in front of her. 'You've done nothing and they're already like that. If you slip up, you'd probably be automatically branded as a villain, at least at heart.'

Her musings continued.

'And if your quirk is plain, average, and incapable of harming even a fly… then people with stronger quirks will look down at you, thinking how inferior you are compared to them… because they are treated the same way by others who have stronger quirks,' she thought quietly of her parents while started to scribble on her notes, pretending to pay attention to the ongoing class. 'People with average, unimpressive quirks would want their child to have a more powerful quirk than theirs because it's an accomplishment worthy of acknowledgment. And if their child's quirk is powerful, then they would push their children to be heroes because raising heroes is of course… something to be very proud of.'

'It is simply how this ruthless and unforgiving society works,' she thought, couldn't help but bitter at the conclusion she arrived to herself.

"Shinsou-san?" She called, wondering if she got the right person. She hoped she didn't call out to the wrong person. That would be very embarrassing.

Thankfully, she didn't make a mistake. The one she spoke up to turned around, revealing that he had been reading a comic book while leaning on the railing of the school's roof.

"You are… aren't you Shirakumo Chizuru from my class?" He spoke up. "What do you want?"

"Yes, I am. And no, I didn't expect I would be seeing you up here," she said quietly. "I came up here to get some air."

As to prove her point, she ran, jumped, and stood on top of the railing of the roof. There wasn't even the slightest of hesitation or fear of falling. Height has never been something she feared, not even once.

"Hey, you should come down. Standing there is dangerous," he said.

She looked down to him curiously. "Will you use your quirk on me if I intend to jump?" She asked, with a twitch of her lips.

His eyes widened. "What…"

She shook her head. "I was joking, Shinsou-san. Anyway, what manga is that?" The teen lifted the book in his hands and she saw the cover. "Hmm…? I know that series. Isn't it about heroes?" She clarified.

He looked to the pages he had been reading and nodded. "It is. You must think how strange it is. Someone with my kind of quirk, reading this kind of stuff."

'Oh dear… such a dark and pessimistic person he is… Not that it's unexpected.'

"It is strange, but for another whole reason. Anybody can read what they want, but I don't like that series in particular. It's just… farfetched and unrealistic," she said, eyeing the book with a scrunched nose. "Heroes and villains don't work like that. I doubt even kids are fooled."

He stared at the book in his hands and sat down on the floor of the roof, his back leaned toward the railings. "It's fine. Even if it's half-assed, even if the kids who read it don't get fooled, it still gives the readers hope for better things to happen. And I'm sure that when kids who get fooled realize it, they wouldn't blame the author either. Isn't that why this series is one of the best selling ones?"

The girl didn't expect she'd be having such a deep conversation with the classmate she had never talked to before and actually understood his views and opinions. "Yeah, you may be right," she murmured. The wind blew hard all of the sudden and she nearly fell from the railing if not for the hand that grabbed hers in time.

"I told you it was dangerous!" He exclaimed, his expression was rather funny looking. It was a perfect mix of startled, scared, and exasperated.

She laughed nervously. "Ehh… haha… you're right?" She responded, both apologetic and sheepish but not scared.

"Geez… Value your life more, please…"

"Shinsou-san, doesn't this make you somewhat like my hero?" She asked brightly.

The change of his facial expression caught her attention. And his following response made it clear that her assumption was near the mark. "Do you really think so?" He asked, rather unsurely.

'My my… so he wants to be a hero,' she thought inwardly before deciding to support him. She actually liked his quirk, and after talking to him for a bit… she knew he did not deserve the treatment he had received throughout the years.

"Yeah. Do you not think so, after pulling me up back to the roof with all of your strength?" She questioned. "If I really have no means to save myself and really fall from this height, wouldn't the result be death? This is the fifth floor, Shinsou-san."

He rubbed the back of his neck, hesitant and somewhat bashful. "I guess… I didn't think much when I grabbed your hand though."

She couldn't help but smile sincerely at that. "That's what a real hero would say, isn't it? Unconsciously wanting to prevent the harm of others… I think that kind of character should be the ones featured in hero comics instead. It would inspire others more than the inconsistent ones that currently exist."

Shirakumo family is an economically average family. The family currently consisted of her father who is a police, her mother who works in delivery, her younger brother, and her. There used to be a fifth family member, but he passed away eleven years ago. It was her older brother, his name was Shirakumo Oboro. More than All Might and Endeavor… he was cooler and more awesome. He was going to be a hero and he hadn't become one when he got himself KIA.

Sure it was his own decision at the end to become a hero, but the root of it all was…

"Nagisa, you're going to be a third year student next year. We will enroll you to a dojo so you can learn to protect yourself. Do you have schools with hero courses in mind?" Their father spoke up brightly.

… it was their parents, specifically their father.

Her grip on her spoon tightened.

"Ah… not yet. I will think about it soon. Don't worry, otousan," Nagisa, her younger brother by two years, answered obediently with a smile.

"Yes, please do that. Personally, I recommend U.A-

"Otousan," she spoke up, interrupting the man midway. "Stop it," she stated, her fury growing by the second. Long slender bones grew from her back and feathers grew out of the quills at once. In less than three seconds, big wide white wings came to sight. Expanded to the sides, the span would reach two and a half meters. "If Nagisa is the one who wants to be a hero, then I would not mind. But why are you the one so enthusiastic about it? Why are you forcing your desires upon him?" She questioned, standing up. She visibly glowered to the fifty three years old man.

"I have been letting it go for nine years now, but it didn't get any better. Instead, it got worse. Any child would do as long as you have 'a child who is a hero', right? Then never ever bother Nagisa again, because I will be that child for you. And If I manage to get myself into U.A's hero course, then you will let me live alone and have my privacy. And at that time, Nagisa will live with me," She said, full of righteous anger. "I will not let you lead otouto to death like you did to oniisan, just for your selfishness, otousan."

Nagisa stared wide-eyed at her who had completely snapped. "Oneesan…"

"Sit down, Chizuru. Threatening like that… do not be rude to your father," her mother said quietly, but also dangerously. Her own set of wings were spread wide behind her.

She did not sit, and she did not look away from her father's gaze.

"If you can do it, then I don't mind any of what you said. But you can't guarantee me that after all. That's why, Nagisa will still apply for hero courses. I don't care about you. Your chances to get accepted is less than your little brother, after all."

If her quirk was something involving heat, she knew she would have gone either overheated or exploded or imploded. She knew she would. She was glad to have such a good mediator as a little brother. He knew just the right thing to say to calm her down.

"Aa, oneesan. My decision to be a hero isn't because of otousan and okaasan at all, so you have nothing to worry about. I'm not going to tell you, or anybody, about it though. It's pretty embarrassing. Anyway, I know it's sort of inappropriate to say… but I'm kind of excited at the thought of becoming a hero with you," he said with a little grin.

She stared at him for a long while before letting out a sigh. "It's your choice to be a hero or not, but personally… I'm against it. I don't want you to die, not for yourself and even worse for others. So sorry, I can't feel excited at all. I hope you at least keep in mind that being a hero is a matter of life and death everyday, Nagisa," she said quietly before turning around and leaving, her feathers retracted to the quills and the bones retracted to her bare back.

She had no appetite anymore.

Author's Note :

Shirakumo Oboro is amazing, and I'm not talking about his quirk. There's also his personality, his history, his appearance… he's amazing. He's probably my favorite character in the whole series. I hope he gets so many more appearances from now on~

In any case, I feel that… my previous plot was lacking tremendously. I'm confident that it would be different this time with my favorite character ever. Hopefully!

Thank you for reading~ I look forward to your follows, favorites, and reviews. Bye for now!
