It was dark. Too dark. Almost as if his eyes were closed. But they were not. He held a hand to his face. He saw only darkness

Sanji looked around the area he was in, or at least he felt like he did. It was just the same darkness everywhere he turned.

He took a few daring steps forward and heard it echo all around him. Was he in a cave?

Sanji slowly began to walk forward, making sure to listen to his footsteps and for any other noises around him.

The floor beneath him seemed to shimmer like water. His steps making ripples that disturbed the rest of the floor.

He had no clue where he was or what was going on. He just hoped that he could find a way out of the weird place he somehow ended up in when he knew he was on the Sunny just a few minutes ago.

Suddenly a spotlight shot on very far in front of him. Sanji shielded his eyes from the bright light.

He looked forward again and noticed something underneath the spotlight. It was a lump of something laying still on the ground. Sanji became curious.

He slowly walked towards the light, as he did the thing under slowly became more clear.

It was a large rock, then a pile of blankets, then an animals, then... a person.

Sanji made it under the spotlight and leaned over the body. His eyes widened in shock and horror at who the body belonged to.

Zoro laid on the ground. His eyes wide open and dull. His body unmoving. Blood seeping out his mouth and head. Sanji fell to his knees immediately and reached out to Zoro, but his hands hit a wall.

Sanji banged his hands against the invisible wall and started to scream out Zoros name. Taken aback by the fact that he could not hear his own voice.

He continued to bang and shout, but no noise could be heard. Tears steamed down his face as he shouted for Zoro to get up. But he just laid there. Still. Motionless. Dead.

The spotlight started to flicker. Sanji only banged on the wall harder and screamed louder.

Then his pounding slowed and more tears streamed down his face. He stopped pounding on the wall and began sobbing.

He rubbed his eyes with his hands as he screamed and cried. It could not be. Zoro could not be dead. But there he was, right in front of him. Dead.

Then, the light flickered some more, until it went out completely. And Sanji was shrouded in darkness once again.

ZOSAN

Sanji bolted awake with a gasp. He coughed several times and gulped in huge breaths of air.

His whole body shook uncontrollably and his hands gripped the sides of his chair with white knuckles.

The cook looked around and noticed that he was out of that cave and on the Sunny again. Then he looked over to the bed directly in front of him to see Zoros green hair poking out from under the blankets.

Sanji gasped and stood up as quickly as his shaking legs would let him. He stumbled over to Zoro and started to shake his body.

"Zoro! Zoro wake up! Please!" Sanji yelled at him.

Suddenly the swordsman shifted in the bed and groaned. He readjusted himself and then relaxed again.

Sanji stopped shaking him and stared at Zoro. Then realization hit him.

It was only a nightmare. Zoro was still alive.

Sanji looked down at Zoro who was in a deep sleep again. He laid on his right side. His body rose and fell as he breathed.

Sanji let out the biggest sigh of relief he ever had in his life. His legs almost gave out on him.

The cook looked down at Zoros sleeping face. He was peaceful. His face was still flushed red, but he was alright just like before. Then Sanji saw it.

Zoros left hand rested near his face curled up slightly. There was something in his head. Sanji gently lifted the swordsmans hand and opened his palm. Zoro remained asleep. Sanji looked down at his palm and his eyes widened.

There was blood on his hand.

The cook examined his hand for any cuts, but there were none. He then examined the rest of his body and found nothing until he got to Zoros face. Then he understood.

There was a small trail of blood dripping out of Zoros mouth onto the bedsheets. His breathing was raspy and labored.

Zoro was coughing up blood.

He had no injuries and he had not left his bed in days. It could only mean that the blood was coming from his lungs.

Sanji recalled what Chopper said about internal bleeding. It could come from an injury like a collapsed lung or it could come from a bad lung infection.

The sickness that Zoro had must be infecting his lungs. Sanji began to become worried. If they did not cure him, there was a chance that his lungs would end up filling up with blood and he would die.

Sanji carefully positioned Zoros head so that it was resting upward on the pillow so that no blood would leak out of his mouth. He then took a towel and cleaned up Zoros hand and mouth.

The whole time the swordsman remained unresponsive, worrying Sanji. Before he had fallen asleep he had been wide awake. The illness was beginning to spread faster.

Sanji was foolish to believe that Zoro might have been getting better.

The cook quickly left the room to go find Franky. He was still shaken up from the terrifying dream he had so he moved slower than he would have liked to.

He made it to the deck and looked around, trying to find the shipwright, but he was only met with a think fog.

A mist had blown in and engulfed their ship. Sanji could not even see the island in front of them.

It was really beginning to feel like his dream.

"Oi! Franky!" Sanji shouted. Hoping to get the attention of the cyborg. When there was no response he continued to shout while walking around.

On multiple occasions Sanji almost fell over the sides of the ship into the continuous mist void below. He was unable to see the railing, only parts of the calm waters through the thick fog.

It was cold, really cold. Sanji hugged his arms close to his body and rubbed them to warm them up.

He kept walking around, wondering where Franky could possibly be, when he heard a noise. It was a small creek, almost too small to hear, but Sanji heard it. He froze dead in his tracks and listed closely.

The creek came again. Then again. Then again. They became louder, and louder, and louder. Sanji whipped around, prepared to engage in whatever battle was about to ensue.

"Sanji-bro? That you?" A voice came from deep within the mist. Sanji squinted and walked forward a bit, that was when the iconic blue hair came into view.

"Franky?" Sanji called.

"Yeah, it's me." The cyborg answered. He appeared though the mist, shivering just like Sanji was.

"Where'd this mist come from?" The cook asked. Franky only shrugged.

"I have no idea. It was clear one second then BAM! Mist the next."

It was deadly silent on the ship. Only the lapping of the waves could be heard.

"Do you think the other'll he able to find the ship?" Sanji asked. Franky thought for a second.

"Maybe not. This fog is way to think to even see your own arm. They probably got lost in it too." Sanji felt his stomach drop.

If the others had gotten lost in the mist, they would not be able to get back until it cleared, and who knew when that was going to be. Zoro needed that medicine. It was only a matter of time until he could not fight that illness anymore, no matter how strong he was.

"Franky..." Sanji said in a small voice. "Do you think that... Zoro will... die?" He asked. Franky stared at the cook for a few seconds, needing time to think about what to say back.

"Zoro-bro is stronger then you think." Franky finally said, a smile on his face. "He'll make it, you'll see." Sanji could not help but smile back.

"Yeah... you're right..." He muttered. Franky chuckled.

"I've never seen you this worried about Zoro-bro." Sanji blushed, but was surprised to find that he did not feel the need to prove Franky wrong. After that terrible dream, Sanji began to believe more and more that he cared a lot more about Zoro then he was letting on.

"Anyways, I heard you calling for me. Is there something you need?" Franky asked. Sanji was snapped out of his thoughts by that question.

"O-Oh! Yes! The thing is... I..." Sanji found it hard to tell Franky about what he had originally planned to tell him in the first place. About Zoro. It made his face heat up and his heart race whenever he so much as thought about him.

"Zoro's just... he hasn't been doing too good." Sanji finally forced out. Franky nodded.

"Yeah, it's been way longer then planned to find the ingredients... I hope they're not in any danger." Franky added. Sanji was surprised to find that he was more angry then worried about the others. They had one job, find the ingredients for the medicine and get back to give it to Zoro. How could they have gotten into trouble with once simple task?... Oh who was Sanji kidding, they had Luffy with them, danger was practically unavoidable with him.

But this was Zoros life on the line. If they waited any longer, he would not make it. Sanji sighed, just frustrated with the whole situation.

"I know you're worried Sanji-bro, but we just gotta wait for the others. They'll be back, I know they will." Sanji nodded and smiled.

"You should get back to Zoro-bro, make sure he's doing ok." Franky added. Sanji nodded.

"Yeah, you're right."

"Almost done with the repairs to the ship, so once everyone gets back we'll be able to leave this place." Sanji nodded.

"Good... hopefully they can be back before that." The cook muttered the last past.

Franky urged Sanji back to the infirmary so he finally left the deck, glad that it was warmer inside.

When Sanji entered the infirmary, be noticed that Zoro had changed position. He was laying in his side again, facing the door that time. As the cook neared him he noticed more blood dripping from his mouth.

Sanji sighed and took the same rag as before to clean it up. Zoro groaned a bit, but stayed in a deep sleep.

Sanji subconsciously began to rub the swordsman's arm soothingly. When he suddenly realized exactly what he was doing he yanked his arm away and look at his hand with disgust.

He changed the wet rag and sat back down in his chair. When he looked out the window all he could see was a white sheet. It made him shudder, suddenly reminding him of his dream.

He would not be lying when he said it was the worst dream he had ever had.

The cook did not feel up to sleeping again so he just watched the clock tick by with every second. Only looking away whenever Zoro made a noise.

Sanji hoped that the others were on their way back at that point. It had been too long for his liking and he was really starting to get concerned. Mainly for Zoro.

Little did he know that there was a reason behind the crews lateness. And that reason was caused by a man Sanji wished he had never had the displeasure of seeing again.
